Amazing getaway!

The resort was absolutely beautiful! Very clean and the staff was wonderful. We were concerned about coming back to Cuba because when we went to varadaro four years ago the food was horrible, but food was awesome ! Only real complaint was you could not take cash out at the bank on the resort you had to take a bus or taxi into the market to a ATM. Other wise the resort and beaches were our favourite so far !

Beautiful Beach

We stay at Valentin from Dec 9 to 16. The resort is very modern. The beach is beautiful with very clear water, although it's a bit windy. the staff is very friendly. One negative is the food is not good, maybe it's because it's my first trip to Cuba, so I don't know their standard yet, however, the snack bar with chicken finger and burgers are all good, but it's boring menu if you have to have those burgers and sandwiches for 3 times / day

Nice resort but don't book with Air Canada Vacations and Trip Central

Air Canada and Air Canada Vacations are two different companies. You can NEVER get through if you need an information and the agent doesn't help either. Then you may end up paying money for luggage that is not required and it's not refundable. I would book again but with someone else.

Nice hotel

Beautiful beach, ocean colors are amazing. Drinks at beach bars are so so. Grounds and hotel are very clean. Rooms are spacious and very clean. Nice bathrooms, huge showers. Problems getting towels for both room and beach. Food is mediocre at buffet. Italian a la carte restaurant is the best by far. Snack restaurant by pool is very good. Swimming pools are nice. There is not much nightlife. Shows are mediocre, especially if you've been to cuba before, they are all the same. Seems like the lobby [... read more] bar is the busiest. Heavy smoking though. Pool entertainment/activities are fun. Don't play enough music though.

Amazing beach

Rooms were clean, always had hot water for showering. Beach was beautiful. Cubans were very friendly. Good service. Restaurants were fair. Buffet was the same every night but there was a snack bar with burgers n chicken fingers n fries which was opened 24 hrs.

Beautiful reception

We arrived on Friday afternoon and it took 1 hour to check in and get our keys because of low staff at check in counter it took them a while before they added staff to clear the cue. Once we got to our room it was very nice I've travelled to Cuba often and been to Santa Clara as well, the room was great, the ceiling fan way too low but it didn't seem to be working at all.. My only complaint were the red ants that kept finding a way inside the room and the patio doors don't lock? The mini bar [... read more] is only filled up once after 5pm including water.. The cleaning lady really enjoyed the gifts we brought her from Canada, 😀 The buffet, noticed they use tap water to refill the bottles because last time I checked mineral water (bottled water) doesn't smell like chlorine. The food was under cooked and the veggies weren't fresh, we both got sick on the food.. The fish on the grill was wonderful no complaints about that.. The desert table was excellent.. Room service: trying to get a bottle of water, you must be persistent and at least call 3 times at reception within 3 hours to get one.. Catermaran excursion ; Don't eat on the boat, bring some snacks from home or the hotel instead.. We both got travellers flu from it.. Dolphin experience was awesome, the food was not soon good, lobster tasted like rubber and the rice had rocks in it.. We mentioned this to the cook and they apologized.. But be careful. Snorkeling was wonderful too.. Santa Clara excursions : The sugar mill and cigar factory, followed with 2 city visits and shopping, Che monument.. Micheal our tour guide was excellent, he's great at this.. Very informative.. I recommend this tour it's a whole day but worth it.. Overall experience : On site clinic good doctor got us back on our feet and got rid of our stomach bug.. The a la carte restaurants We're Alright nothing famous. Same type of food in the buffet. The relax pool was peaceful it was one our favourite places.. Everyone on the site was friendly and helpful, especially Sergei at the sports bar really friendly guy.. Bring your snorkeling gear from home, just left from the beach you'll find a coral reef so much life living there.. If your lucky you'll spot the two lion fish an awesome experience to see them hunting for food.. Full of colors and other fish, be careful not to scrape your knees on the live rocks.. Enjoy your stay at the hotel..

A la carte fingernail

There was a fingernail in my food at one of the a la carte restaurants. It pretty much ruined my food experience for the rest of the trip as you could imagine. The resort and beach was beautiful. Staff did not go out of their way to ensure our needs were taken care of. We would not go back to this restore again but would go about to santa Maria again.

Very nice resort

Excellent beach, pools awesome and great service. Rooms were very nice. Grounds were well maintained and very nice. Entertainment was excellent in both the theatre and the main lobby. Food was good but more variety would be nice. Would certainly go back.

Great vacation

We stayed at Valentin Perla Blanca from Nov 18 to Nov 25 2016 . We had a great time. This hotel is very large with a lot to do. The grounds are beautiful, the lobby is amazing. Great place to spend time after dinner. Always nice music and great vibe from all the guests. Amazing service from the lobby bar. Great entertainment. Beach is a 5 star with plenty of chairs and white sandy beach. My only complaint would be that when we arrived at the resort around 11 pm it took almost two hours to check [... read more] in because two buses arrived at the same time. We recommend this hotel and will definitely go back some day.

Best budget friendly resort

This was our third visit to Valentin Perla Blanca. We love the resort. The grounds are beautiful. The beach is fantastic and the food is getting better. I love how in November you can find deals that allow you to visit a beautiful, modern, upscale, all inclusive adults only resort for around $100 per day. The reality is, it is difficult for a couple to have ONE meal in Canada with drinks at most restaurants for that price. The only real issue we have consistently had with the resort is th [... read more]e check in. This is problem that REALLY has to be fixed. Management is the biggest deficiency at this resort. The check in was always around an hour on our prevous visits, but this time we arrived at 12:30am and it took over 2 hours to check in. There were four buses that arrived at the same time because one plane was delayed. So I understand that they were overwhelmed, but they could have been more prepared and have more staff trained on check-in procedures. The nightly shows are very entertaining. They have a very impressive theater with outstanding lighting and sound. THE MICHAEL JACKSON SHOW SHOULD NOT BE MISSED!! It is usually Sunday nights and you should get there early as this show fills every seat. All in all a great vacation. We miss the staff and resort already. We will return to this resort.

Great resort

Overall, this resort was great. The grounds were nice. The staff were all friendly. The buffet was good, but the a la carte restaurants were excellent. The rooms were clean and nicely decorated. The beach was beautiful!!!

Best Customer Service

Girls week away... lots of relaxing down time. Just what we needed. We had the Silver Tran sat deluxe package... well worth it. Robe and slippers in our room... might not seem important. But was well used each day after our shower. Fruit plate, bottle of wine and rum left in the room for us. Free hour of wifi each day for us. WIFI was hit or miss... but a quick check in with those back home was nice. Food was OK, better than I was expecting. Only complain in the buffet was they didn't refi [... read more]ll or replace the empty food dishes quick enough. So many times we went without whatever was in that dish because they didn't come out to replenish it. We didn't bother with any Ala cart dinners. Line up was too big to book them. They should have two employees doing that job. Loved the white roses the ladies gave you at breakfast. Made us smile each day. Beautiful grounds. Good signs to help you get around. Would be nice to have a washroom closer to the beach. Was a far walk to go out to the restaurant to find a washroom. Stunning beach. Great service on the beach for food and drinks. Staff helping you set up the lounge chairs and sweep them off. Like I said great service. Pools were amazing... like no others. We liked the quiet pool. Its great that they have two to offer for those that want to party and for those that want to relax. Rooms were clean and spacious. Great maid service each day. Loved the shower. Plenty of hot water, almost too hot. lol Shows were a little lacking and shall I say amateur like. Dont bother... except Sunday night. You must go see the Michael Jackson show. Unreal. Live entertainment in the lobby each night after dinner. They were all pretty good... but the Friday night guitar player was AMAZING! such a great player, and showman ship. We could have listened and danced to him all night long. He was the only live entertainer that had the crowd going and up dancing. Honestly the only downfall is the hour and 45 min bus ride to the air port. Makes for a long day of travel. We would go back for sure....

I wouldn't recommend it....

Check in: verrrrry long process, front desk was understaffed, slow and not customer service friendly. Even during thier slow times, they were not open to finding solutions without us having to escalate to the air transat rep. The resort: pictures are deceiving. You have to walk through a long un paved/ un even pathway surrounded by bush and trees to get to the beach. When you get there, its very narrow and not like the beaches you're used to seeing in Cuba. Some areas of the beach are l [... read more]argely rocky and when the tide comes in theres no sand to chill on so dont expect any late night strolls on the beach here. Half the resort was shut down so that meant half the restaurants, poor availability of a la carte restaurants and poor flexibility to move to another room in the event of an issue in your room. Many of the bathrooms/toilets didnt work. Lack of hot water for showers and not all the A/C units work. Buffet selection was good, grilled meat station was a hazard as the chicken was never cook properly. The fruit sucked, it was never ripe. Pools were nice, entertainment crew was great. No store/shop on site No visits from vendors along the beach or to the resort for shopping Bell boys were awesome! Shout out to Randy and Lester. Upgrades to ocean view arent worth it becase of all the trees you see before u get to the beach/ocean.

Valentin perla blanca

We stayed at this resort the week of October 29th to November 5, 2016 The service was excellent, especially Maylin at the buffet, she made of feel like family. I had a massage from Yagen and she managed to remove all the knots in my back, it was an amazing experience. The food was good, just a bit repetitive but we could always find something tasty. Very nice place . Heaven

The hotel was great the food was very good ,clean ,the rooms are very big and the ground are bouthful .nice beach.the people are friendly .the bar very nice and the bar in the lobby the small one was the best bartender name was Adyslen and Yunier.where the best .you don't have to get up to get a drink ,only to stretch .very helpful. Can't wait to go back ,and there the first one to go see .the room was always clean.we got 4 restaurant a week ,we were there for 2 weeks .I say go go go.

Total relaxation!

Been there 3 times in one year. Beach was amazing, beautiful white sand and turquoise warm blue water. Great service from all the staff, entertainment is good, rooms were nice, clean, and up to date. We wanted a vacation with total relaxation(Escape from Reality!) I definitely recommend this resort.

A modern looking, but with problems!!!

1- A visually new moderated resort with many unnecessary ground levels.(Architectural issues) 2-Not many menu choices, the chef should get experience from another chef, for example "Melia Las Dunas" one. 3-The entertainment team not enough active, even those guys should ask for "Melia Las Dunas" team's experience. I am mentioning that team because we are familiar with that resort and they are really good in what they are doing. We changed two rooms and this was an issue for both of them.... 6-Other than those problems it was a quiet resort.....

Highly Recommend!!!

My wife and I just spent 2 weeks at Valentin Perla Blanca at the end of July, beginning of August, 2016, for our honeymoon and I would highly recommend this resort to anybody! There are 2 main pool areas at this resort and one was shut down for renovations, but because of the time of year, occupancy was very low, so crowding at the open pool was not a problem. The beach was fantastic, no issues with rocks, sandy beach that continues into the water. This is a new resort, only open a couple years, so it is very modernized. Same plugs as Canada/USA, so you do not need converters. As long as you keep the patio doors closed, the air conditioner keeps the room a perfect temperature, which you can set yourself. Perfect resort

Everything about this hotel was amazing! The pool and the beach was just WOW! The buffet was alright... We felt like it was almost the same every day... Overall I would recommend to everyone who wants a great service and classic like hotel!

Never lets me down

Just returned from my 6th trip to Valentin. Resort had few people there but service was excellent. The grounds were so beautiful and everything has grown so much and the flowers are amazing. The beach as always is breathtaking and although one pool was closed for renos the other was open with lots of shade or sun available.
