Muthu Colonial Hotel: Great Resort!

The Hotel Colonial never disappoints, the grounds are beautiful the staff are friendly and the hotel itself is like a little Spanish village! We love it there! They have two pools one of them is salt water.

Melia Cayo Coco: A Gem

Our 2nd visit to this intimate, quiet, un-crowded, classy resort. Lobby bar nightly live entertainment at the piano bar to relax around soft lighting and cocktails. Excellent service. Experienced professional staff. Al a cart restaurants are 5 out of 5 for service, flavor, hot delicious food in spotless formal settings; Linen tablecloths, candles, Spanish wine that's really quite good. Memories Caribe Beach Resort: BAD TIME RESORT

It all started with Sunwing time and flight changes, paid for the wife elite seating 240.00 to be to gather on plane 41/2 months before leaving got bumped non-stop flight forget that had to go though customs 2 times at 2 airports in Cuba I want the 240.00 back. The resort rooms A/C set at 80f you can't change it, hot water if there was any water at all, don't tip the maid you don't get the service, food buff.day1 fish day2 rice day3 BQ chicken Next 11 days pork leg, they would stir up the fo [... read more]od and put it out the next day. The pool they where still cleaning everyday at 10 a.m. There was 8 of us friends we all got sick (runs).The place is getting old and run down. We have gone to this resort 3 years in a row and have seen no improvements, it's going down hill.

Memories Caribe Beach Resort: Not the best

First off the resort is under construction and remodeling. They are more worried about it then what is wrong or broken with the old section.if they fixed what is wrong withe the units that the guest were staying in first and who were paying now l would see giving them a great review. But l will give a bad review. L just came back after 14 days there from Oct 20 till November 3. This is our second time here and our last we booked our trip in first of July and asked to have a bottom floor .but when we got there they had use on the second floor and my wife can,t do the stairs ,they said maybe in 2 or three days they could do something for me. I told them who was going to carry her up the stairs . Luckily a nice young couple who very checking in who heard what was going on and offered their room on the bottom to us l just wished we had got their names . The many things that were wrong were no water pressure in the room ,it hard to have a shower with very little water . Next there was no screen door on the patio doors and the bugs were bad this time so bring bug spray. Next is the food ,they try hard to cook it right but need help l feel. The bartender in the piano bar is the greatest in mixing drinks thou. Well there is more but not now we will not be back there .

Memories Caribe Beach Resort: Bothersome Booking .... still continue

The resort itself is wonderful, as are most of the staff. The beach is absolutely gorgeous. The food this time around was the best I've ever had in Cuba. (3rd time at Memories Caribe, 6th time in Cuba) The issue I have is with what is available for booking. At Memories Caribe, you can book the type of room you want. Having been there several times, I booked and paid for a Superior Lakeview Balcony room. Upon arrival, I was told that it wasn't available as they were all under renovation. I exp [... read more]lained that I paid for a Superior Lakeview Balcony room. The girl at the front desk kept aplogizing and saying there wasn't anything she could do. Told us to talk to the Sunwing rep. Which we did. He sent us to talk to Guest Services, who apologized, explained that the rooms were under renovation, and she was downright rude and condescending. It wasn't until we put up a fuss and asked to speak to the manager that we got any sort of resolution/compensation. I get it. The rooms were approved for renovation after we booked (or so the manager explained). THEN upon arrival, it should have been explained to us and they should have offered some sort of compensation/upgrade (which they ultimately did) at that time. That I would have understood. The fact that we had to talk to several people and got the same unacceptable response really dampened by vacation experience. I am positive that we were NOT the only guests in the same situation. Upgrading someone to Diamond Club isn't always the answer which they seem to feel it is. If I would have wanted Diamond Club to start with, I would have paid for it. To me it's more about the acknowledgement on their part. Had they done that upon our arrival, I would be writing a totally different review. Even worse, today I log into tripcentral and Superior Lakeview Balcony rooms are still for sale. At a cost of $80 more than a Gardenview room, which is where most guests will end up. VERY UNFORTUNATE. When I rate service as POOR - it's because of the arrival desk and guest services (although Julia and Ernesto did make every effort later to make sure things were going well). Bar staff, restaurant staff - FANTASTIC service.

Iberostar Origin Daiquiri: Amazing ocean view!

Second floor ocean view room, clean and updated bathroom. Enjoyed sunrise and sunsets overlooking the ocean from my balcony. The Buffet had something for everyone. The staff were awesome in every department, made you feel at home. Beach was amazing, lots of loungers available. Would definitely revisit.

Melia Jardines del Rey: Stayed a week at Melia and was most impressed!

Upon arrival to the hotel, the registration was in a large room where your passports were gathered by the hotel management to confirm hotel registrations and begin check in. This was unusual but other than feeling like we were sitting in a classroom seemed fairly efficient. There was also an opportunity for us to exchange our currency during this time to make the wait a little more bearable. The hotel was quite accommodating. We needed their services a few times and they were prompt and kind.  [... read more] All the staff was polite, happy and most welcoming. The grounds were kept well. Some attention needs to be given to the beach and main lobby bathrooms. They are highly used and at times were out of toiletries. Our maids even wrote handwritten notes to thank us for their gifts..... This is my 5 time in Cuba and I was most impressed with the food at this resort. There was a good selection and we all enjoyed the a la cartes too. They had little extras for all the guests including a variety of creatures for the guests to enjoy, water excercise classes, even a deep fried dessert station. The live music at night was delightful. Great effort from the entertainment team but this is an area that could be improved upon. Our only other suggestion is softer beds.

Melia Costa Rey: Best Cuban resort yet!!

Went as a group trip, 2 families consisting of 4 adults and 3 children aged 8, 7, 4. Resort and grounds are beautiful, clean and fresh and modern, lots of pools and activities to choose from, entertainment could be better for kids but it was low season when we went. Adult entertainment was great, especially the aqua ballet...best show I've seen in the Caribbean!! Beach was raked and cleaned daily even when it was red flagged. Lobster in the buffet once a week, amazing! Freshly cooked food stations with little to no lineup. Nice touches like heart shaped omelettes. Lots of choices of well seasoned and fresh food!! A La cartes were delicious and served hot, even accommodating for kids fussy tastes!! Excellent birthday celebrations with cake and singing and lights low!! Drink selection was great!! Rooms were clean and well appointed. We would certainly and likely will return and have also shared our opinions with others looking to book! Great service from booking to everything in between to Mernie at tripcentral..coupons and discounted overnight hotel stays before trip or park and fly coupons!! Always have and always will book with tripcentral, they even cross referenced our trip to coordinate room selection with the other family travelling with us...always great customer service!!

Hotel Vigia: Horrible experience. Not worth the price!

First of all, there is no beach seating. They are currently renovating the beach and there was no where to sit. The resort claims they advised all travel agents of this and that we should have been made aware. Very poor communication on behalf of TripCentral. Secondly, there was no hot water in our room . Our room was extremely old and run down. Thirdly, the resort was full of locals who were extremely loud and obnoxious. The food was horrible! We have been to Cuba over 15 times.. this was by far the worst hotel and experience we have ever had.

Melia Costa Rey: Amazing Resort.

We were pleasantly surprised with our first trip to Cuba. The hotel was beautiful. Although parts of the hotel are still under construction, this did not take away from the atmosphere. We didn't have a bad meal while there. All the food was well cooked, tasty and plentiful. The rooms were clean and spacious.

Iberostar Origin Daiquiri: Best Resort I've Been To

This was my 12th visit to Cuba, and my first at this hotel. I can honestly say it was my favourite. My room was exactly as I requested, top floor, overlooking the pool, king size bed! The grounds were just beautiful and well kept. The beach, well what can you say about the most gorgeous beaches in the world....it was fabulous. Perfectly clear, soft white sand, plenty of sunbeds and miles of beach to walk. I didn't eat at any of the a la cartes. The food in the buffet was the best I've ever h [... read more]ad in all my visits to Cuba. The staff were very friendly, always smiling, always asking you if everything was okay. I travelled solo and actually felt the staff were looking after me a little bit, which was so nice. I would return to this resort in a heartbeat.

Hotel Playa Paraiso: Great Holiday

The resort is very clean and well maintained. This is our 6th trip to Cuba and our first stay at the Pestana. The resort is a smaller resort but very clean and well maintained, the resort staff are very friendly and helpful especially Annaleece at the customer service desk. We found the food choices very good for Cuban standards and the best from all the resorts we previously stay at in Cuba. The beach is white sands and stunning. Melia Jardines del Rey: Fabulous Resort with Everything!!

This Hotel was Superb!,, Rooms were spotless and cleaned everyday, showers were great with lots of hot water , fresh towels everyday. TV service in room was great with our news and movies if you wished, Bar Fridge was full everyday and fresh water bottle daily, Maids could not do enough for you. Air conditioning was great,,,,,Balconies were big and a safe in your room..Big Kingsize bed with extra lounge and desk and chairs and coffee maker, iron, weight scale, blow dryer...$150 room anywhere  [... read more]for sure! The buffet had anything you could possibly want , fresh breads, pizza daily, omellets made daily, crepes, many great cheeses, smoothies , many desserts, so much to choose from. We went to one of our free restaurants that were included and it was the French one and had a fabulous steak dinner . Beach huts were plentiful, the beach luncheon buffet was always full of great food. 24 hour snack bar was also great and handy, The POOLs were so clean, a deep one for swimming and many up to waist so you can go to the Pool bars. Many covered huts by pool with a big mattress type lounge great for reading.. Ice cream huts, coconut huts. Main Bar in lobby had any drink you could want( very impressive) Everyone in this resort was friendly and could not do enough for you,,,they even had small electric vehicles taking you from your room to buffets and anywhere you want on the resort. Front desk exchanged your canadian money anytime . Entertainment nightly was fun and always something going on in the lobby! Snorkelling was not the best but beach was fine, we did not see many fish, but the hurricane had just gone through so thats likely why....Vendors on site for your souvenir buying and not expensive.... Also the ride from airport was not long and it was air conditioned again with friendly people welcoming us to their resort

Hotel Playa Paraiso: Great Time at a Very Nice Resort!

As Cuba goes, this was a very nice resort. Modern, new, clean and well laid out. The staff are friendly as all took the time to offer a friendly, "Hola Amigo"...right down to the grounds crew. The centre of the action starts at the beach then seems to move to the pool in the early afternoon. In the evening and night, the lobby bar is the scene. All the critical areas are within a few steps of the pool...the a la cartes, the buffet, the kids club, the 24hr snack bar, the theatre and the lo [... read more]bby bar... well laid out property. The beach and a few of the bungalows are a bit of a longer walk but only a matter of 3 minutes or so. The beach itself is great. There are some rocks (think bedrock) that come up through the sand near the entrance to the beach but to the right, it opens up to a beautiful sandy walk right into the water and out. IMPORTANT NOTE: Starting the week of October 31, 2016, there are machines taking sand from a km out and pulling it into the shore. Some kind of beach expansion/improvement. Should only last a week or so but you will be able to use beach at the Melia next door. The food is as expected... not Mexico but well done considering the limitations they have. Fresh stations at the buffet and a well-priced lobster add-on to any evening (20 pesos and highly recommended). The entertainment was a slight let-down though not by much...just a little below what I would have expected. Also, the lobby entertainment is far too loud. While most of the time, you are OK to sit and enjoy beverages while socializing, there are times when they have live music playing but rather than having it as background music, it is cranked up and you are unable to talk with friends. Disappointing but not a deal breaker by any means. The staff at the lobby bar are wonderful. Dani was always welcoming in the morning and Migue was quick to bring your favourite drinks. If traveling before March and looking to bring gifts, Dani is expecting around March/April. Regarding the famous "towel game" on the chairs...no need. There were plenty available at both the beach and pool areas and if there were none...they had plenty in back just waiting to be used. If you're looking for something to do off property, I highly recommend taking a cab out to Playa Prohibida and have a great lobster meal and some drinks at "Lenny's". Overall, this resort is above average and the staff were great. I will definitely return and suggest it for any kind of traveller... couples, families and social gatherings. I witnessed all three groups having a wonderful time and saw staff go out of their way to make the time memorable. Finally, regarding Tripcentral...Robyn and Alexandra were very helpful throughout the booking process and made this trip planning simple and stress free...Thanks to them.

Melia Costa Rey: Beautiful resort and an AMAZING beach

My daughter & I did a mother/daughter trip & I picked the Pullman, Cayo Coco from Oct. 8th-15th, 2016. I could not have picked a better resort for this trip. My first 3 things I look for when booking a trip are BEACH, DINING & ROOMS. Beach was AMAZING, tractor picked up seaweed from the night before, the water was sooooooooooo warm. One day overnight lots of rain, went to beach in the morning & started to rain again so we ended back in our room for some down time. By 2:00 we were back at the beach enjoying it until 6:30 . So I believe that day was basically part of a tropical storm which didn't really affect us. The view from the lobby is SPECTACULAR. Guests always taking pictures as well as us. We did not see anybody with disappointment on their faces. Dining wasn't spectacular, we really enjoyed the Japanese & French, didn't go to the Creole as we heard a lot of people didn't enjoy it :(. The smell around the Creole was very nasty (this should really be looked into). I had an omelet every morning for breakfast, where my daughter had toast & thankfully she brought her own peanut butter, so basically she had this every morning for breakfast. The only buffet I really enjoyed was Monday as it was close to a Thanksgiving Dinner - the ham was sooooooooo delicious. Really disappointed there was only bacon two mornings but had to get it put on the cooker while my omelet was being cooked. ALSO really enjoyed the ice cream. DISAPPOINTED that there was no FRESH fruit or vegetables (was this because of the Hurricane?) My daughter & I drink a lot of water and found that only 1 large bottle was supplied in our fridge each day, well we probably drink at least 2 of these each a day or more. We did not starve & thankful that we were able to do this trip together. Rooms cleaned everyday but no towel art, we missed this as it really adds to your stay away from home. Loved the showers, always hot water, never had a problem with that. Also loved that we could get movies in English, we went to sleep every night watching a movie on timer. The bed were okay but glad to get home to our own beds. ALSO our West Jet representative, I believe his name was Odin, was hardly ever there, I know this doesn't represent anything with your doing, but hopefully West Jet would look into this, the other reps were always there. We waited one day for over an hour as we wanted to book a trip to Pilar Beach, another rep called him & he said he would be there in 15 min. well we waited another 1/2 hr. no show. We wanted to book through another rep. but they talked us out of it/I guess stepping on someone's toes. So because of this we got to enjoy the Pullman Beach that x day & loved it. Every time I exchanged money I didn't have to sign anything, but every time my daughter did, she had to sign a piece of paper - would like to know why? ALSO the West Jet book should be left out so every one can read things in it, not hidden behind the desk. Suggestion have a clothes line hanging over bathtub for people that wish to wash out their bathing suits, there is no place to hang our items when we wash them out, we had to be creative!!! Every morning we went to the lobby & enjoyed a white coffee with Baileys & a scone before breakfast (Love this). Bathrooms in lobby ran out of water in the sink, had to use the wheelchair sink to wash up, no biggie, at least we had a place to do this. Maybe have hand sanitizer in bathrooms when this happens & you won't get a lot of the guests complaining. STAFF are AMAZING, loved the lobby bar STAFF each & every one of you. Can't wait to see u all again. I realize that this resort is only 8 mths old, so can't wait for the grounds to mature. Hopefully I will be able to bring my husband here so he can really see how amazing this resort is. We didn't do the entertainment only the ballet in the pool - AMAZING, AMAZING, AMAZING! Would I return to this resort - in a heart beat. The rating I would give this resort is 4.5, just the smell & food (buffet). the REST AMAZING :). p.s. only used the pool once, as we were there for the beach :), but what we saw they were amazing, lots of people using them! ALSO the owner took his time to stop and say 'hello', pleasant surprise, never had this done before :).

Iberostar Origin Daiquiri: Small & comfortable resort

The hotel is small, easy to get around. Rooms are clean & the bed is comfortable. Food is ok for Cuba. Beach is amazing now that they have extended it. Lots of shade spots. The workers are all amazing. Will help with all your needs. No need to tip, but they are very grateful when you do.

Melia Costa Rey: Best Resort ever stayed in

I don't usually say that I would go to the same resort twice but this one i would go again for sure. The people, the food, area, room, pool, entertainment....was ALL GOOD. I'm certain that if the hurricane wouldn't have passed by, the beach would have been more beautiful. I will have to go again just to see it. I would recommend this resort to my friends. Can't wait to go back.

great resort for the price food amazing for Cuba beach was amazing service was amazing if you tip.the rooms need some upgrade and they need to add the mini bar included in the price I was surprised since my mini fridge was alway empty for the stay never got filled
