Majestic Colonial Punta Cana Beach Resort: Ideal destination

Well maintained property, beautiful gardens with mature trees. Huge rooms with whirlpool tubs, sitting areas, as well as spacious open balconies.All walkways from rooms to main venues are covered, no need for sun or rain umbrellas. Bahia Principe Escape Ambar: Not a “luxury” resort

Resort is close to the pool and beach, rooms and public areas/washrooms are clean. Food at the a la cartes we were able to get in to was good. Other than that could not book a la carte restaurants we wanted as a lot were already fully booked when we got there. Not enough staff at both pool and lobby bars. Despite their signs to the contrary, lounge chairs were “reserved” by guests. Staff did nothing about it. Got eaten alive by something at the beach. No spraying for pests. Entertainment in  [... read more]lobby was mediocre. Despite 2 days of rain, no umbrellas available. Staff would not deliver a bottle of house wine to our room. We were told to go get it by the glass at the bar. Not 5* luxury service by any stretch! Would not go back.

Royalton Splash Punta Cana: Great time

Second time to Royalton Splash, quality property and a great time. There are 2 hotels on this property - you will need to upgrade to Diamond Club if you want good food/drinks, and access to pools close to the beach, and better areas on the beach (cleaner, better service, close to bars). Worth the upgrade. There weren’t many Covid protocols (99% of staff didn’t wear a mask, hand sanitizer stations were always empty, had to carefully select cups and plates from the buffet).

Bahia Principe Explore Punta Cana: Fun Resort

This resort is a beautiful paradise that will meet the needs of all ages. The hotel is clean, the beach is breathtaking and the food is good. The staff are friendly and willing to help when needed. My family really enjoyed our stay!

TRS Turquesa: Excellent Resort!

A beautiful resort. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Food , drinks and service were excellent. Very clean and well maintained property. Being able to dine at the other 3 resorts gave many options for dining and places to explore. Highly recommend a swim up room.

Sunscape Coco Punta Cana: Good resort!

Overall we had a very good vacation. Tripcentral provided us with all the information we needed to leave/arrive in Canada and Dominican Republic. We had accommodation in building 4(of 18!) and the evenings and the beginning of the nights were very noisy. The food was good. We used only the buffet because we wanted to get quickly on the beach. The beach was excellent and the water temperature around 27 degree Celsius. The weather was excellent. Not too many activities on the resort. The ph [... read more]one didn't work, we had 2-3 days when the TV did not work. During the weekend when the locals were in the resort, the buffet was overwhelmed. Riu Palace Punta Cana: Beach Time

Great grounds , excellent pool service , enthusiastic staff always ready to please. Very enjoyable holiday. We really enjoyed that you could walk several kilometres up and down the beach from our location.

JOIA Bavaro by Iberostar: Best resort I have ever stayed at! Amazing! Very satisfied.

The grounds are extremely well kept. Public areas are also well kept and clean. The rooms are classy, clean and comfortable - high class. The dining was excellent. Ate very well and too much for the ten days we were there! Butlers are the ones responsible for reserving your restaurants in the evening. We saw butler at beginning of trip and he reserved our first three nights, but after that we didn't see him. So we would show up at a restaurant of our choice and they would accommodate us. I would highly recommend this resort and would go back. It is a little bit more expensive, but well worth the money. Also, chairs were always available at the beach in the morning - no rushing early in the morning to reserve a chair. However, the pool was a different story, but I prefer the beach to the pool. I love the pool in late afternoon after spending the day at the beach.

Occidental Caribe: Ah the beach

HOTEL - Lots of rooms face the ocean due to horizontal alignment. Roomy beach front with lots of palms and chairs. Sunscape Puerto Plata: Had a Blast

What I liked was the rooms were clean, well kept and nice and cool from the moment you walk in. I did have a safe problem was it was resolved within 10 minutes. The fridge was restocked daily and never was there a room problem. Having a garden room gave peace and quiet especially in the evenings when the entertainment was going on. I wasn [... read more]t impressd with the beach area and especially with the hecklers bugging you nonstop even after you ask them to leave and the games area for playing horseshoes or bocce ball was non existant becuase you couldnt find anyone to get the stuff, I never ate at the beach but most days it was always closed. not much was open when you advertise 24hr food and their isnt its kinda frustrating. the stores expensive with no resort discounts. food was ok but could have been cooked alot more than it was. the entertainment was great. the pool area bar was barely ever open except for coffee so that didnt make any sense to me...but overall just complaining little things that didnt really matter...for the most part it was great but if you ask me honestly its a 3.5 star at best

Sunscape Puerto Plata: Love it!!!!

First time at this resort and would go back for sure. The food was really good, nice big pool but the only way to access pool bar is being inside the pool. Entertainment staff "Richi" was so great! He was always coming by to make sure we were having a great time and went out of his way for out group of 22 to get a family photo done.

Dreams Onyx Resort and Spa: Stellar resort

This was our second visit to Dreams Onyx, and we were not disappointed. Our room was very clean with a selection of pillows on the beds, and sufficient towels and toiletries. The mini bar was well stocked with water and soft drinks, though we were unable to get Diet Coke, Coke Zero being available instead. The room was thoroughly cleaned daily, with additional towel and turn down service in the evenings. Public washrooms were thoroughly cleaned every hour or so. All staff wore masks in all are [... read more]as. Staff were attentive and eager to please. Hand sanitizer was available everywhere, and masks were offered prior to entering the buffet. Guests only wore masks in the buffet. In the bathrooms, every second sink was closed. Then, on May first, all mask mandates were lifted in the DR so staff no longer wore them anywhere. The food in the a la carte restaurants was excellent, with generous portions. We were never required to line up or wait. The bar by the restaurants was often busy though, so short line-ups formed there. The food in the buffet was plentiful, though a little repetitive. It was often not warm enough. There were plenty of serving spoons, which were replaced often. The pool area was clean, with chairs always available, and socially distanced at the beginning of each day. The beach was clean, with a tractor raking away any seaweed daily. Chairs were readily available, though we continued to reserve ours early in the morning with a towel and a book. We always removed our towels when we left the beach but not everyone did. This was unfortunate because chairs appeared occupied when in fact they weren’t. This was inconsiderate of the guests, not an issue with the resort. We enjoyed our stay very much. It was our first trip post pandemic and everything went smoothly.

Catalonia Royal La Romana: Amazing Resort

We loved this resort. It is located about 45 min.from Punta Cana. This hotel is adults-only, but guests are free to take advantage of its sister, family resort right next door. The hotel is well-appointed and on the smaller side, which is nice. The lobby bar has a good selection of alcohol but also makes delicious lattes. Above the lobby is where the breakfast buffet is located, which has a great variety of food—fruit, breads, cheeses, meats, cereals, typical breakfast fare as well as some [... read more] Dominican options, and made-to-order omelettes. There are 5 specialty restaurants and all are a must-try. We found the food delicious!! I tried two chefs specials with beef—so tender; octopus—OMG, my favourite; red snapper; and desserts—passion fruit creamy mousse, a chocolate ganache, to die for. The sister resort has a wood-fired oven and makes delicious pizza. I have nothing but good things to say about the food. And we never had a problem making reservations and menus were available thru a QR code on your phone. There is a pool bar in a small pool, and a beach bar, that serves sushi. Pina coladas and mojitos are ymmy. There is a second swimming pool, and a theatre with shows every night at 9:30. There is also nightly entertainment in the outside courtyard…a singer, a musician, a singing group, or dancers. The beach is about a 7 or 8 minute walk, but they also have a golf-cart shuttle. Beautiful fine sand and shallow waters. The only issue was being able to get a covered beach chaise…you had to get down to the beach fairly early to nab one, because that sun is hot. We had a two-level suite with our own small pool, adjoining three others. The main level had a living room with pull out couch, tv, bathroom, and fridge stocked with water, pop and beer that was free. Coffee maker and umbrella as well. And as a gift, there were three 26 oz. bottles of alcohol. Access to the balcony and pool. Upstairs was a king bed, tv, two safes, closets, and bathroom. We never left the resort but there were many tours available. Entertainment staff conducted dance lessons, aqua size, etc. There is a washroom near the lobby with shower facilities.

Paradisus Palma Real Golf and Spa Resort: beautiful resort

The grounds are well landscaped. Pools are large and clean. Beautiful architecture. Restaurants were good. Beach needed to have seaweed removal. I would have preferred to have staff serve snacks to us on the beach when we are on lounge chairs. Not enough beach staff.

Catalonia Royal Bavaro: Beautiful Resort

This resort was absolutely stunning landscaping the foliage very mature very clean. The beach was not the greatest way too much seaweed and coral which I had cut my feet on. The food was wonderful sometimes at the restaurants some of the meals came out a little on the cold side. As for an all adult resort they had very little entertainment or activities for our age. That would be the only downfall for this resort everything Seem to cater to the family side of the resort that was a bit disappoin [... read more]ting. COVID was no problem. Not enough staff to serve you drinks. Made many trips for water and drinks to the bar ourselves.

Nickelodeon Hotel Punta Cana: Luxury resort for Kids!

Hotel, amenities and landscape was clean and well maintained. Staff was excellent, especially at the coffee shop and Fresco (shout out to Stephanie, she is the best!) restaurant (our two favorite spots). The restaurant food was just ok. If you dont show up at the cafeteria right when they open, a lot of the food starts tasting past due. The Spa is a hidden secret. You can get 2 free 25 mins massages by attending the Prestige meeting where they try to convince to purchase into their timesh [... read more]are. Survive that and you can get a free Character breakfast for the whole family, a free slime and the 2x massages. Once you have gotten your massage at the spa, you can use the spa hot and cold facilities for free for the rest of your stay. Every afternoon when our toddler was sleeping, we took turns to relax at the spa! It was wonderful!

Ocean El Faro: Terrible resort , need better management

Very nice hotel but this only good about this place. Food is terrible, service is terrible. Have experienced rudeness at the beach barcause letters on bracelet wear off , towel person gave us look.. like what is it that we want from her? , then food is always cold ,quality of meat terrible,stakes is very oily.beach is very rocky. Wouldn't recommend this place to anyone

Senator Puerto Plata Hotel: Not a 5 star

Nice room, beach and pool area. Service however, was non-existent. Of the three dining restaurants, the Italian by far was the worst. We were lucky to befriend two wonderful staff, Christopher and Juan, who made our stay great! The poolside Signature Snack Bar in our opinion had the best food and service.

Royalton CHIC Punta Cana: Wonderful Vacation and Staff are top notch

This hotel is beautiful, the grounds are well kept and clean. The staff are amazing so many names to mention Wendy from the spa group, German at the beach. The bartenders in the lobby never let my drink get too low :) I don't normally go back to any resort twice but this is one I would in a heart beat. The room was beautiful and had a surprise for us waiting on our Birthday !!
