Excellence El Carmen: Good time but was it Excellent?

hi, we have been travelling many years to all inclusive resorts and have been at the El Carmen when it first opened and again this past week. The resort itself is lovely, clean, spacious. Many restaurants to choose - food and service was a hit and miss. Service - hit and miss. We experienced great service one day and then no service at all the next - very inconsistent. Not a deal breaker for a return visit as long as I know what to expect. Front desk very nice and was able to accommodate r [... read more]oom request. I would recommend a swim out room. Do not choose building 6 as it is very noisy due to proximity to the nightly entertainment. Pool bar service is hit and miss, mainly a miss.. be ready to walk to the bar to get yourself a drink or go to the swim up. The sports bar has fries, wings, onion rings and burgers and has the best food. There is a food truck that is open from 6pm to midnight for burgers, fajitas, chili, fries and natchos.... they were yummy and a good snack to take back to the room. Room service was quick and food not bad - that was a success. We have been to Excellence Playa Mujeres, Mayan Riveria and Punta Cana. This resort although beautiful is in need of a few tweeks in order to be considered truly Excellent.

JOIA Bavaro by Iberostar: Best All Inclusive

This property is by far the nicest we have ever stayed at, and we travel often. The grounds and beach are immaculate, service unparalleled. Food and drink outstanding. Just wish I was still there!

Bahia Principe Escape Aquamarine: Amazing Resort

This was the best resort I have ever experienced, from the wonderful, clean well appointed room, to the staff always looking after you. The food was delicious and the ambiance even in the buffet was incredible. The “Adult Only” was definitely what I needed to totally relax and feel pampered. I would highly recommend this resort to anyone making a trip to Punta Cana! You will not be disappointed!

The Reserve at Paradisus Punta Cana: Amazing resort

Jacuzzi in the room was not clean so we never used it. Food: buffet was ok but the main restaurant like the grill, bana was garbage. Drinks: they use too much sugar and ice in drinks, they put coke in beer. For sure not a 5 star hotel. Staff service was good and fast

Grand Sirenis Tropical Suites: Outstanding resort

This was our first trip ever to a tropical resort. I must say that this was an outstanding resort. The service was wonderful. Everything was in its place and clean. The food was amazing, the variety was never ending. The grounds are beautiful. The beaches had enough lounge chairs. Everyone who worked there was very pleasant and always had a smile. The suite we had was perfect. The location of our suite was the perfect spot. Overall, we loved Punta Cana, Grand Sirenis Tropical suites. Sunscape Coco Punta Cana: Beautiful, clean and helpful

This hotel exceeded my expectations. The staff were all extremely friendly and helpful, the grounds were spotless the beach was beautiful, the drinks were plentiful and the food was excellent. There were several options for restaurants to book reservations for but the buffet offered delicious fresh options at every meal, and the service was warm and friendly

Excellence El Carmen: Romantic getaway

This hotel was absolutely fabulous. We had an amazing vacation and I loved our two story roof top with plunge pool suite. Incredibly private, I could enjoy sunbathing topless and what a breathtaking view! The food was ok, some good some bad but we never went hungry. And the liquor was top shelf. Even impressed with our well stocked mini bar. Cleanliness and luxury were very apparent here. Would of like to see more smiles and less co-worker conversations in front of clients though. It was [... read more] a bit unprofessional in any language. However, Alvin was amazing and we frequently sought him out for our evening cocktails. He was truly amazing and great attention to detail. Overall an amazing experience!!!

Sunscape Coco Punta Cana: Decent resort

When I arrived I immediately upgraded to the VIP Adults Only area which set me back 600 so in the future I should bundle with the Tripcentral or airline. Sadly didn’t get the 200 credit and the beach was awful sand was ok but water very murky so I mostly stayed in the adults pool as the other one wasn’t very clean

Bahia Principe Explore Punta Cana: Expect the unexpected

Hotel /resort was over all nice. You can see it’s aging. The buffet food was ok, a bit repetitive. The pools are nice and the beach is nice and clean. The disappointment started when there were items in my room not working properly ex. Jacuzzi, balcony light. They state there’s a mini bar in the room, it’s just mini fridge with soft drinks. Everything is spread out on the resort, although they have shuttle service sometimes you will find that you will get to where you want faster if yo [... read more]u just walk and if you’re willing to walk at least 10 to 15 minutes. They only provide free Wi-Fi in the lobby (which isn’t very strong) although they mentioned there is free Wi-Fi. I had to pay for Wi-Fi for an entire week in my room and also was able to use within the resort. However, often times the connection was very poor and that was frustrating. Not all the bars had the exact same drinks so there was no consistency in that area. Another big disappointment was I can only book at three restaurants during my 7 day stay. Previous resorts I have gone to you could book at the restaurants as many times as you want. The staff could be friendlier.

Royalton CHIC Punta Cana: 2nd time even better than the 1st!

Second time, better than the first!!!! How is that possible?? What it made it so great? Johan, Johan, Johan is the MAN! By far the best concierge/butler we have EVER experienced. He has now set the bar so high I really don’t think anyone will ever compare. Firstly, when we arrived we had a major hiccup, which I am not going to even bother sharing because Johan quickly saw the grit in my teeth and managed to not only manage my issue, but go WAY above and beyond. I truly he believe made our t [... read more]rip even better than it would have been had everything gone smoothly from the start. So here is the deal: • Go Diamond club….totally worth it. Dinner reservations, great beach bar, better room locations, great little Diamond club with appys. • The food….I am in TOTAL awe at whoever complains about the food. Are there the odd dish that is so so, yes, but we have been to many high-end Mexico resorts and quite frankly this is on par. Yes, the portions are small. If you are complaining about that, you may want to reevaluate your eating habits….or maybe even your ordering habits, just order more dude! Problem solved! • The person that complains about the entertainment is probably stuck in some strange time warp. The Madonna singer was AMAZING. We actually thought she was lip syncing and had to take a double take to realize she wasn’t. • The rooms can be damp, yes. Why? It’s called humidity. People leave their room sliders open to enjoy the sea air….this is the result. It tends to also affect the wood, which is prone to warping in the sea air. And sea air is corrosive on metal. I think the resort does the absolute best in trying to keep up with it. The rooms are still clean and sexy. • The service overall was generally really good. The pool and lobby bars could maybe add a couple extra people during the rush times, but overall no complaints. • The pool area in the afternoon is not as much a party as we would have liked. The DJs tend to smile and nod when you ask for requests, and continue to pay the Spanish dance music. The techno music they play during the water aerobics is AWESOME, and wish they played that in the afternoon. Admittedly we did sneak down to Breathless for an afternoon to party at their pool. However, outside of that I hate Breathless. Stayed there once and it had terrible food, weird resort layout and bad bad bad entertainment. • While Chic is a small resort, the layout is so expansive it makes it feel bigger than it is. • The beach is beautiful. No seaweed, well manicured. A few waves to make it interesting. We have never been to any resort more than 2 times but we WILL be back for a 3rd to Chic. Did I happen to mention Johan? Bahia Principe Escape Aquamarine: Save your money

Well I tell you the resort and room we purchased was not the level we purchased . We purchased luxury amber green which changed after we already paid . It changed to grand Bahia principe aquamarine which that was fine if the luxury side of it was still there . No it wasn’t very disappointing. The service was terrible . The food was terrible and drinks were not at the level we expected . Our beach area was adult only but we were like sardine cans in one area . We had our own buffet area a [... read more]nd had to wait for clean plates a few times . My rice one night was hard because it had been siting there I’m sure for awhile . I could go on but I won’t . I was very disappointed.

Bahia Principe Escape Aquamarine: Disappointing Grand Bahia vs Luxery Bahia Principe

TripCentral agent told us the Bahia Principe name is changing but it would still be the same......when you were told it’s a Luxery upfront and then find out only later that it isn’t Luxery at all. TripCentral did nothing to help us. We weren’t allowed to go to all of the a la carts, the security guy wouldn’t even lets us go to our friends room at Luxery Ambar....that’s crazy and we weren’t allowed at their pools either nor about to eat at the Beach Buffet with our friends. So don†[... read more]™t tell people next time it’s the same resort.....it isn’t .....we booked to an agent that never ever admitted it to us. Jessie and Maya ....only knew what they knew but again very disappointing. AquaMarine does have some positives....great pool....great rooms, maids are very slow and never brought any water or beer on the mini bar ....the bartenders in general are very slow and the alcohol was cheap and very sugary and sweet. Definitely not close as a Luxery. Luxery Ambar ....with the pool, the maids, the alcohol and the buffet and a la carts.....and talking to a few friends it definitely is a step up and then some.

Grand Sirenis Tropical Suites: Punta Cana

A nice, compact resort with lots of space at the beach. I was lucky enough to have won this trip and have never been to the Dominican before so was very excited to go after such a cold winter! The weather nice the whole time we were there - if it did rain, it wasn't for long - five mins at the most. 24-27 degrees and sunny every day. All the servers were fantastic and friendly and there was lots of food. I recommend the spa -- I had a massage and hydrotherapy circuit as well. Impressive Punta Cana: Impressive Resort & Spa

It was a wonderful resort good size wasn't to big grounds were very clean the employees all worked hard and for the most part aimed to please so our vacation was perfect. Food was surprisingly very good the lady who made the omelettes in the morning for breakfast made them very well everytime never failed to please. The employees worked hard,service was fair even when busy, the food was delicious, room was cleaned daily we tipped everyday and left a lil gift. Two negative with room was our view we didn't have one we overlooked the kitchen roof but we didn't use the balcony much anyways so with the curtains closed didn't bother us. Safe worked but had to be reset almost everyday we were there not sure if it was because of something we were doing or if it was broken but it did work would just lock us out but at least we knew our stuff was safe because nobody could get in unless the system was reset. Weather was great while we were there sunny everyday rained late one evening on the day before we left but no big deal the day was over and we needed a break from the sun anyways. Loved the swim up bar but the lobby bar made the best drinks. Our stay was excelente.

Melia Punta Cana Beach Wellness Resort Adults: Amazing Resort

The food was amazing. Lobster, caviar, you name it they pretty much had it. Premium drinks for the level 1 adults only guests which we were. We where assigned a butler Omar He was amazing. The beach had seaweed they cleaned every day. Over all we would go back again.

Excellence Punta Cana: Second time better than the first

I won't leave a long-winded review but will say that this was our second time going to this beautiful resort. We booked Excellence Club with private plunge pool and were in building 2. Our room was steps to the Excellence Club pool and we were super close to everything we needed or wanted. The beach is beautiful, yes there was some seaweed but the workers were out there raking it before anyone was usually up and it was well maintained. The water is a little rough and the riptide is definitel [... read more]y something to be cautious of. But we waded into the ocean and bobbed around for awhile and had a lot of fun. The restaurants were all amazing, the food was incredible and even more outstanding was the service. We wanted for absolutely nothing and have no negative thoughts on the resort at all. We will be back for a third visit in the near future!

Riu Republica: Beautiful Resort!!

This resort is well laid out with short lovely walks to everywhere you need to go. Lots for everyone and every mood! Pools are second to none and so many! Bars are great as well as most drinks. Grounds are impeccable and rooms are chic and so clean. Maid did an incredible.job every day. No fancy towels or curtains even though I tipped here..haha that's ok. Loved the variety of pools depending on your mood! The only complaint is the a la carte service was not great and I like to be served not buffet for these specialty restaurants. Majestic Colonial Punta Cana Beach Resort: Relaxing vacation

The resort was very nice. Good food , beautiful property. The only draw back was even with butler service we couldn't get dinner reservations. We spoke to one couple whom had been there before and they said they book on line before arriving at the resort. Unfortunately the last two days was the beginning of high school March break in the US. A lot of very young kids drinking and acting foolish. Over all a very nice trip. We had booked a king size bed but were given two doubles in error. The room [... read more] was nice so we kept it instead of moving.

Bahia Principe Explore Punta Cana: Had a great time

Had a great time at this hotel, the staff was very friendly and most of them could understand English and speak it to. The buffet restaurant had lots to offer and food was very good although it could have been a little hotter. We ate a four a la cartes and found them all to be quite good. Never had a problem getting a chair around the pool. The grounds are kept very nice and the staff works hard at keeping things clean. I would recommend this hotel.

Punta Cana Princess: Lovely adult's only Resort

Just came home from the Punta Cana Princess resort (March 29th until April 5th). I asked for a room near the beach on a higher level and with a view of the ocean. I got all 3. I spent most of my time at the beach. Sandy beach, no rocks and great ocean breeze. There was plenty of shade. The buffet was large and well stocked with a variety of choices. Each night there was another "theme" night but there were always other choices if you didn't want the theme night menu. We went to the ala carte  [... read more]Italian and Steak restaurants but were just as content to eat at the buffet restaurant. There was free WiFi in the lobby but i have to admit it was slow. You can also purchase WiFi that could be used anywhere at the resort. The room was a little quirky with a sunken living room area. Housekeeping did a good job keeping rooms clean each day. Requests for extra pillows etc were promply given.
