Grand Aston Cayo Las Brujas: Amazing beach

The resort is very nice, beautiful large lobby area with a bar, nice swimming pool, amazing beach where you walk along for 2km. Rooms are clean and modern. Food mediocre, not a big selection and variety. General shortage of everything is visible. However, you don't go to Cuba for gourmet dining. You won't starve there. Public toilets in the resort are dirty.

Valentin El Patriarca Varadero: A nice and calm vacation

We had a good time with a variety of activities. Food was OK, not a lot of variety but the quality was good. Service was friendly and consistent. We would come back if we had the chance. The massage at the spa was amazing!

Memories Paraiso: Great vacation

The hotel was very clean. Staff were extremely nice and helpful. Some items they did not have all the time however we adapted. Would definitely stay at the hotel again. The beach and pool were amazing.

Gran Muthu Imperial: Where's the bread?

The hotel and grounds are beautiful. Staff are friendly and helpful. But there were a few issues. Firstly, you have to practically beg to get a change of sheets and towels. I had to complain to customer service in order to get the sheets changed. There was no bread in the buffet the entire time we were at the hotel. There was bread served in the Snack Bar and the a la carte restaurants. They ran out of beer. Firstly the pump broke at the kiosk by the beach, no beer. Then they ran out of beer at  [... read more]the pool bar, my husband actually went next door to buy beer at the Gran Muthu. Oh and by the way, the had bread at the Gran Muthu as well as the Rainbow (3 MGM hotels in a row). One day, while going to go for a walk on the beach by the Gran Muthu, we were stopped and told we were not allowed to go through the hotel despite having the same colour bands and staying at the Imperial. I suspect this was because they didn't want us to know they had more selection of food at this location.

Melia Internacional: Good

Hotel was good , the beach was very good food not very good service at bar fair, not a lot choice of fruit or lettuce ,coffee not very good, the same drink everyday was different, overall was fair,I won't going back.

Iberostar Origin Tainos: Great Resort

The staff were fantastic!!! Made us feel welcome and wanted to make our vacation special.The pool, beach and grounds were lovely. Room was clean and lots of hot water. Balcony was nice. No complaints.

Valentin El Patriarca Varadero: Great beach

The beach was great! However, the resort itself needs a lot of attention. It seems it has fallen into neglect. The rooms are tired and need some attention. For example, our bathroom had mildew at the back of the countertop, and the shower head spewed water over top of the glass door and onto the floor. The food was good. This resort should be downgraded to a 3 star until things are updated and properly maintained.

Occidental Arenas Blancas: Beach 👍 Everything else 👎👎

Beach was absolutely beautiful. Hotel was run down not taken care of. My kids are not picky eaters at all and didn’t eat the food. Didn’t even have simple things like French fries. International restaurant had spaghetti in juices from meat no tomato sauce. Service at the cafe was bad wouldnt even look at you unless you had cash on the table. Amazing beach but that’s about it!! The Reserve at Paradisus Varadero: Need improvement

Hi I have to be honest and Me and my daughter where extremely disappointed in our choice for our vacation. I paid way too much for what we got out of this resort. This was the first time that i treated myself with a reserve package. First we where to have fast and prority service when arriving at the resort. Well we got to the desk to be told that we had to go back at the entrance and waited over 30 minutes to get a cart to bring us n the reserve section. Once we got there had to wait 15 m [... read more]inutes before we got to the desk with bo welcome drinks nor a tfresh towel like it was advertised. Once given our room number we had to wait for the butler toshow us around. He came to us and said he was busy with someone else and would be back shortly. I told him that we would meet later that all we wanted was to go to our room to change and go to the pool. He came back a few minutes later showed us real fast and thensaid we would see them tomorrow. Our room was at the extremity of the resort right beside the the highway. We where far from all the restaurants, the bars, the main pool and lobby and the beach atea. At night we needed to use our phone light because it was so dark. We called a few times for a cart but had to walk cause they did not show up. We asked to change rooms and they mentioned that there would be an ocean view room available the next morning. When we got thete the next morning they said that the icean was given to someone else. So they gave us another room near the main lobby…well we could not sleep till after 1am due to the discotheque. We froze cause we could not turn the air conditioner off, then the next day my daughter got a bad cold due to freezing bcause we could not turn the air conditioner off. We had to pack again to move to another room the next day. Well the next room locks on the pato doors did not lick, the room safe was not bolted to the wall so anyone could have run away with the safe,the lufhts under the bed did not works and to top it off the room was infested wth cockroaches. All we where given was two 30 minutes massages. We did bot have any butler servise at the beach nor at the pool. We did not benefit from this service which cost us $600.00 each extra. Now the fodd….it was the same for lunch and supper everyday for eight days with not once did we get pasta. The a la carte restaurant where the same thing at the buffet. We had no margaritas, pina coldas,strawberry daiquiri, baileys etc all week. We pais over $1,995.00 each. We could have went to Mexico for way cheaper and eat and drink like queens. I usual always enjoy. My trips but this one was very disappointing considering what was promised and not received. I would really appreciate being compensated for the difference between just a regular room compared to Reserve which was approximately $600.00 each. This is really false advertisement given hope to get treated to a upper service which was really not much more then regular service. Melia Cayo Coco: Melia Cayo Coco

The Hotel has older buildings but they are in good condition and kept quite clean. The Staff is very friendly and helpful. There was good entertainment every night in both the Lobby and Theater. The Food in the Buffet was the best that we have experienced in Cuba, on par with some resorts in other countries. The specialty restaurants were acceptable.

Iberostar Selection Esmeralda: Fantastic Holiday

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Iberostar Esmeralda Cayo Coco. The layout of the resort makes it easy to get around without too much walking, and still enjoy all the amenities. The pools, bars, restaurants and entertainment areas are all fairly close, and easy to get to.

Sol Rio de Luna y Mares: A Beautiful Oasis To Enjoy An Adventure!

My Goodness, what a lovely resort! My wife and I just returned from Luna/Mares and we loved it there. This was my second time there and a first for my wife. Now that it`s post covid and the resorts are open again, I would like to mention that their were only slight changes from when I was there before. First of all the liquor selection lacked the variety prior to covid. If you love rum then your fine but it would have been nice to have a wider variety to choose from. Of course there was also beer on tap and wine, the white house wine was good (drank that a lot) but the red not so pleasant. Remember that you are in a country which is struggling to get back to normal after covid (and it was very difficult for the Cuban people and their economy) so give them some time to have selections like before. Secondly, the food selection for the most part was great. I nor my wife were ever disappointed when we ate. The only exception that I have is that the dessert selection was really lacking (not in the amount but in how good they tasted) other than that we were not disappointed. There were slight problems with the food but not enough to really complain about. Now the resort was so very clean, It looked amazing, and as a guest all the staff were polite and helpful, very friendly indeed. We had an upgrade to an ocean view room and it was sooooo perfect! Such a clean well kept room and the view of the pool and ocean was spectacular! The wonderful lady which cleaned our room did such a wonderful job. As mentioned, all the staff were wonderful, pleasant and kind! Now the beach was just picture perfect! So clean and the water so clear. Only one morning did we have a problem getting a lounge chair. (There were many lounge chairs that were broken, hopefully they will repair or replace them soon). Other than that the beach is truly a paradise. It needs to be mentioned that the views from the resort are just fantastic with the ocean on one side and mountains (large hills) on the other side. It`s so wonderful because it`s not one resort after another along a beach. This is a paradise and I am looking forward to going back this coming July and then next March again with my wife. For some reason this is resort is rated 31/2 stars. I truly believe that it is a 4 star resort for sure!

The resort could be beautiful if they took the time to upgrade it the rooms were old and dirty no clean towels sheets not changed the whole time received clean towels once never a clean beach towel Staff smoking and on cell phones customer service was not seen The young girl at the inside bar was amazing maybe the only smile we received all week

Hotel Los Cactus: Our Cuban Home

Beautiful beaches, excellent staff, great weather, clean rooms. This resort is very meticulous for Covid-19 awareness. This was not our first trip to Cuba so luxuries are non-existent and some shortages were expected. The two year closure of all the resorts in Cuba has deprived the country of much-needed capital for restocking and recovery. We will return again, but I don't recommend Cuba for a first time traveler.

Sanctuary at Grand Memories Varadero: Just OK

This was our first time in Cuba so I have nothing to compare it to. Cuba is suffering major food shortages and other supy chain issues.The resort itself needs updating. Rooms are spacious. On arrival we had no top sheets, only a stained bedspread, no towels, safe did not work and the AC wasn't working properly. The safe issues was not resolved for 2 days, even after several reminders. Received towels the same day, however the topsheets also took a few days. Food and drinks are a hit and miss. No [... read more] butter, apparently this is everywhere due to the lack of dairy farms. Eggs are plentiful. Watermelon, guava and papaya are the only fruit in season at this time. The al carte restaurants are good. Bland, usually offered, pork, chicken maybe seafood or beef, always served with rice. There is a beach BBQ daily, would not recommend, Saw the staff touching the cooked food with the raw food utensils, hot dog was cold inside and chicken was uncooked. The French fries and chocolate ice cream ( served for dessert at every meal) were delicious. The staff are all very helpful and pleasant. The sanctuary offers a butler, we saw ours twice not very helpful with our issues. Other butlers came around and checked up on their people to make sure everything was OK. Beach is beautiful, ocean was warm. Beach and pool side chairs were taken by 7:30 everyday. Not sure the price we paid is worth this resort. Still had a great time, not sure I would go back to the Sanctuary.

Club Amigo Atlantico Guardalavaca: Great resort for all ages

This was my second time at this place and I would go again in a heartbeat. The dry spell had made things less green than usual but all the grounds are well kept. Food is tasty but plain and with limited choices, that said I gained six pounds in two weeks so not really a problem.

Grand Aston Cayo Paredon Beach Resort: Highest is as 3 star resort in terms of service

No even bread, no eggs, no fish or meat except the lines for it. no napkins, staff is rude. Nobody cares about anybody or anything. All eating facility cannot hold the capacity. Lines are everywhere. You can book only 1 restaurants after you spent 1 hour in line. No coffee or tea sometimes. They even don’t change the towels. Memories Flamenco Beach Resort: Memories Flamenco Cayo Coco

Though the resort looks beautiful and the beach was awesome, our room, 8304 smelt like the swamp which is right behind the building. To makes matter worse, despite the thermacell device we used and Off spray to repell mosquitoes, My husband and I are covered with mosquito bites that I am still dealing with 3 days post vacation. And I have pictures to prove. Not to forget, they were always running out of alcohol at the bar and eggs for breakfast.

Barcelo Solymar: Bad experience

Hotel is not what it used to be. Under staff food is worse no working ac or hot water in our room. They were uder stocked of juices alcohol and food. I would never go back there again unfortunately because i do love cuba.

What a great place! This resort is well maintained and clean. It is not luxurious but very cozy with the friendliest staff. The rooms are nice, equipped with the safe, fridge and coffee machine. We always had bottled water in our room. The grounds are nice with blooming hedges cut into nice shapes. The gardeners are working very hard every day to keep everything fresh looking. Full roasted turkey and pork couple of days during the week. Fresh seafood grilled for you on the spot and one day we even had lobster for lunch! WOW! And there is the best ICE CREAM which comes daily for both lunch and dinner!...so delicious! :-) There are also 3 different A la Carte restaurants for which the reservation is needed. This is a little bit difficult as the reservation can only be made at 9 am in the morning for the same day and there is a limited seating. People were lining up since early morning to get a spot which is not something I want to do at the resort. We tried only one restaurant. The food was good but we definitely prefer buffet with a wide selection of dishes. There is also a restaurant by the ocean where they serve lunch. There is a pre-set menu of 4 dishes to choose from. One day a week they have a BBQ lunch They served pork, chicken, ribs, salads, soup, desserts and so on ) and there is a live band playing for you. Very nice ambience! I need to mention desserts. We normally do not eat desserts but Cuban cakes are so delicious that it is hard to skip them. Fresh, fluffy, tasty and without artificial flavours. It's a real deal :-) The beach is amazing, sandy with crystal clear water, no seaweed and it's very quiet and relaxing by the ocean! No blasting music. There are enough activities to join for fun time by the pool and also by the ocean. The evening entertainment is awesome. The lady signer was out of this world! The dance group that performs 3 times a week is superb! Their costumes and different choreography are the top notch! There is nothing to complain about. This resort is very good and we will for sure be back!
