Bahia Principe Explore Coba: good resort
Stayed here twice before 2015-2016 resort needs some upgrading . food in buffet was not as good a-la carts hard to book property very clean rooms good staff friendly and attentive as always trip from air port very long app: 2-2 1/2 hrs. good holiday.
Bahia Principe Escape Sian Ka'an: Good Resort
Stayed for 2 weeks from Dec 4 to Dec 18 and enjoyed the resort. Access to the restaurants was probably the best since they have about 20 theme restaurants and all of them were good. The Sian Ka'an was the best option if you don't have kids since it is very quiet but you can go to other parts of the resort if you want more activity, so you get the best of both worlds. The only down side (and I hope the resort addresses this) was rampant theft from the rooms by the workers. Several people we m [... read more]
The Fives Beach Hotel and Residences Playa Del Carmen: Second visit in 2022!
This was our second time at the Fives this year! We loved every minute of our vacation and would recommend to anyone. Close to the airport (45 mins max) bus from the airport to the hotel took forever to leave- in future I would pay for a private transport (airline fault not hotel). This time we stayed in Building 21 which is the farthest from the beach and close to the adult pool. Room was a 1 bedroom suite and the king size pull out was perfect for the 2 kids (11/13). Food was amazing and one [... read more]
Platinum Yucatan Princess: Excellent trip
We had a nice quiet room with a swim out and great neighbours. If we had been by the main pool I would not have enjoyed myself or had a good, relaxing trip, as the main pool is a lively space during the daytime hours. The food at the restaurants was very good and the buffet had lots of selection. They bring in very good entertainment in the evenings (the fire show in particular is excellent) and the Mexican craft market was fun. Rooms are spacious and well appointed. Massage at the spa was aw [... read more]
Barcelo Maya Palace: Beautiful resort
The resort is very nice and easy to get around, we stayed in a premium room oceanfront main floor. It was close to everything the à la cart. Restaurants are very good. The Japanese restaurant and the French restaurant were our favorites. The ocean and snorkelling were fantastic. We could not get a catamaran booked any of the days though you would have to get there by 9 o’clock to book and can only book same day. Our check-in was not great, we had premium level, but it took an hour to check in [... read more]
Sensira Resort and Spa: Best family resort
This hotel is absolutely everything for a family with kids under 14 or so. It has a small family feeling everything was great and lots to do all around The resort. It’s also very quite at night for kids to sleep and no one drunk or being crazy. Just a great place! Staff and resort was beautiful, the buffet was great and the restaurant were luxury feel type and so much fun
Sandos Caracol Nature Resort and Water Park: Great Resort
The resort had lots for us to do kitty pool, waterslides big pool ocean it also had like pathways, free, walk and enjoy that offered other kinds of animals like ducks that wag their tails like dogs, kinkajou , some Coatis, we had monkey come down from the roof onto our patio. My husband and I got married on the cenote at the lobby. Our wedding planner karla was amazing she was so nice she was so helpful. Our communication got so much better once we actually got to our resort she really was fanta [... read more]
Grand Decameron Complex Bucerias Trademark: A great vacation spot
Everything was great; service, location, etc. Lots of signage and protocols in place for Covid however guests were not practicing safe distancing and I arrived home testing positive for Covid. My stay was two weeks and I remained on the resort.
Vamar Vallarta: Vamar Vallarta
2 out of 5 at best. Terrible food at buffet. Same everyday. Always cold. Very little selection. Italian restaurant very good. Amazing staff throughout the resort. Adult pool needs re-tiled. Sharp edges and came out with multiple scratches/cuts. Resort is dated. No fridge’s in rooms. Beds are hard as a rock.
Riu Emerald Bay: Second Time at this RIU
PRO's -The hotel itself is nice and the rooms are spacious and clean. Great ocean views even from some of the non-view rooms. For the most part the staff are excellent Noa and Daniel were great poolside! Foam party was fun to watch and the entertainment was good. Between the 6 pools it's not that hard to find a sunny spot to hang out. CON's - Upper pool was a bit chillier than the last time we were there, would be nice if they turned the heat up a bit. While the food is plentiful the variety [... read more]
Catalonia Playa Maroma: Very pleasant experience
Hotel is a bit old , but is well maintained and the grounds are rich in vegetation . The service is very good and is not much to complain . There is some renovations in a few rooms going on but is understandable .
Atelier Playa Mujeres: Absolutely Top Notch
We could not have asked for anything more. Everything was clean, amazing. Fully stocked mini fridge and a basket of assorted snacks which would be refilled as necessary. The resort is huge. We always found a chaise lounge at the pool and towels as well. The food was over the top delicious. Wait staff were always there to refill coffee, etc.

Paradisus La Perla Adults Only Riviera Maya: Areas to improve but overall great time
Flight good, transfer service to resort was not coordinated well, resort itself great though clearly still recovering post Covid times. Transfer service for travellers arriving from different places resulted in only one transfer logged for one of the travellers. I unfortunately was the other person. Felt stranded at airport trying to explain situation, and again same situation at the resort. My last 24 hours at the resort was spent in high stress.
Riu Palace Las Americas: Amazing Resort!!!
Everything about this resort was perfect. The staff were super friendly, helpful, kind and they put in soooo much effort and hardwork to make people's stay magical, and magical it was. The rooms are squeaky clean at all times. The food was absolutely delicious, the layout of the resort was absolutely perfect. Pools anywhere you look, the beach is just a few steps from the lobby. The nice thing about this resort is during the day time, it had a specific flavor with everyone in bathing suits while [... read more]
Bahia Principe Explore Coba: Very satisfied
Grand Bahia Principe Coba is the least luxurious of the the 4 Principe resorts on the same property, but it is by no means a low budget resort. The grounds are pretty well kept, the service very good (from the trams service to transport people to different areas, the bar and maid service, to the staff at the a la carte restaurants), and the food was good also. We thought we booked early enough to get a our pick of the 3 a la carte reservations we were allowed, but I our choices were limited. We [... read more]
Barcelo Gran Faro Los Cabos: Very disappointed. Not 4.5 star
Will Never return. no towels upon arrival don’t heat the pools stole money from our room accessed friends room when they thought they were out. unfriendly servers served raw chicken 2.5 star place
Iberostar Selection Playa Mita: Good trip
Confusion over room when checking in, but was resolved by Gilberto, with thanks! Pool and grounds very nice, although pool was freezing for first 3 days. Red flag for most days, no ocean swimming. Food, plentiful and great selection, but luke warm at buffet. All Ala carts were really good. The French was our favourite. Maid service, so, so. Some days no towels, but made a call and it was resolved.
Barcelo Maya Palace: A very lovely resort and setting
The good stuff...we stayed at the Palace and enjoyed premium class while there. There were 2 Alacarte's that we enjoyed as a large group (7 adults & 3 children). The French, Brasserie and the Italian, La Trattoria restaurants, both provided us with exceptional food and service. There is lots to keep the entire family busy, activities, swimming, snorkeling, including 3 resident sea turtles fronting the Palace. The suite we had 8605, had a great pool view, with a peak a boo patio opening, that vie [... read more]
Hyatt Vivid Cancun: Amazing all inclusive
New, and rooms with best views of ocean and golf course. Excellent reastraunts with steaks! The entertainment was lacking, and can be improved on. The room service was excellent, spa was excellent.
