Iberostar Origin Laguna Azul: Absolutely amazing resort !!

5th visit to Cuba having stayed at different resorts. This one superceeds them by far . Grounds the staff were all amazing . Will definitely be back ! Wished we could have stayed longer. Only slight down was distance to centre of varedero and 15cuc for cost of taxi one way. The varedero bus is great but takes a hour plus to get there.

Roc Barlovento: More than we expected

Just got back from 2 weeks at the ROC. This is our 4th time to Cuba, but our first time at Barlovento and this resort was our favorite. The location was great, we enjoy walking a lot, so we were able to walk the town of Varadero as well as the small town of Santa Marta. The food was better than expected, bbq for lunch every day and good variety of food at the buffet. Really enjoyed the a la cartes, especially the Mexican. The staff makes the resort all the more enjoyable, the smiles, the greetings show that they care. Had lots of fun at aquasize by the main pool, lots of laughs. Appreciated that the manager was hands on, as it made a difference in the quality of our stay. We are looking forward to going back next year.

Iberostar Origin Laguna Azul: Absolutely loved it!

Absolutely loved it! It was clean and the service was amazing! Staff was really friendly and accommodating. Food at the a la carte restaurants were great. The buffet had a lot of variety but food quality was inconsistent. However, they did have items that were made fresh in front of you which was a plus. Pool and beach were awesome. Plan on staying there again.

Club Kawama: Average 3 Star Resort

I have travelled to many 3 star resorts in Cuba so I went to Club Kawama with reasonable expectations. The standard rooms are pretty rough, even by 3 star Cuban standards. The beach is beautiful though it could use a good clean up (plastic litter everywhere). The main pool is quite nice. There is a major flooding issue every night in front of the hotel. You will find it hard to leave the resort in the evening. The reception is another low point. They are quite rude and I am not sure that they ar [... read more]e to be trusted with exchanging money (they were giving 61 cents on the Canadian dollar even though the sign posted stated the exchange rate was .72. They also refuse to issue a receipt). I would be sure to count your change and make sure you ask prices all over Varadero. You gotta watch out for your hard earned money. Food was ok. Plates were hard to come by at the buffet. My 10 year old son spent 24 hours vomiting from a hamburger from the pool snack bar. Would I go back? No. You can do better for around the same price. I hate to give a poor review but in this case I am just being honest.

Grand Memories Varadero: Very good resort

This was an amazing resort. Been to Cuba 5 times and I know a good resort versus one that is more rustic. If you are looking for luxary, keep going, Cuba is not your destination. Food was really good, bathrooms were the best I've ever seen. Pool could use a bit more TLC. I would go back.

Paradisus Princesa Del Mar: Needs better food and service

This hotel needs better service for the rooms ,better food yes I know that's Cuba for you but honestly it was repeat on the food .music by the pool was very bad slow songs all day long you are in Cuba. Need Cuban music to get yourself in the mood .But the grounds where beautiful .

Grand Memories Varadero: RELAXING VACATION

This is a beautiful resort and I would stay there again. The room was clean and beds were comfortably. The staff that I was around were nice and helpful....I really enjoy the quiet part of the resort! Beach was nice - I just didn't like that the free Catamaran wasn't free - it would have cost $20.00CUC to use to go see the fish by the reef for snorkeling.....I just wanted to go for a ride on the boat.....maybe a language barrier thing food was ok..... best part was breakfast!! suggestion -  [... read more]pastries/fruit ready to eat in lobby for the people that are on the early excursions or flights home. stay away from the Chinese a la carte....food was horrible and they didn't have spring rolls Gourmet was a fabulous place to eat and the server - she was amazing and made us feel so special.

Hotel Tuxpan: Very accomodating

This hotel was very inviting! We were served at the table, didnt have to stand in line to get drinks. Check in was super, we needed a main floor suite, as I have been using a cane lately, they were very accomodating. Was kind of tough getting around with the cane, as there are steps EVERYWHERE...but just took my time! Restaurant buffet had lots of food, you wont go hungry. Would have been awesome to have the bus come closer to the resort...I think that will happen in the future. I would recommend this resort.

Punta Peninsula Varadero: Great Holiday

Our holiday was fantastic everything was excellent. I would recomend this holiday to everyone. I liked that the rep. was available to answer any questions. The beach was amazing. The staff was great. I enjoyed the pool area.

Melia Las Antillas: Great resort

Had a fantastic time at this resort. Lots to do, great food, and great staff all made this a very memorable trip for me. I will be back to this resort i the near future. I would recommend this resort to anyone.

Iberostar Origin Bella Vista Varadero: Amazing resort

Very beautiful elegant clean resort. Friendly staff amazing food. Pools are clean. Beautiful landscape and the beach is gorgeous. Not overcrowded and excursions were so much fun. Lots of things to do

Paradisus Princesa Del Mar: Why did I pay for Royal Service

Got back Sat Dec 1st 2018. Resort was ok, but paid for Royal Service and there was no way to differentiate guests who paid from those who didn’t. Throughout stay several guests came over to our side, ate at our restaurant, used our bars and pool and beach, so question is why pay for upgrade when anyone can come over. Other issues I had were consistency. Main lobby bar was great, no matter what drink we ordered, it was great, but. Ran out of beer, coffee pods and vodka more than once... each was beautiful and water was warm, and soft sand no rocks.. Room was comfortable and clean. Most staff very friendly.

Playa Vista Azul: Quaint, newer resort

This resort was fairly new so rooms were clean, fresh and well maintained. The resort itself was compact which was a major factor in our choice since my mother has mobility issues. The buffet was very repetitive and somewhat disappointing. I have been to many resorts in Cuba and the food here was by far the worst. Their process for a la carte restaurants was first come, first served so you had to line up with no guarentee to get in. You could then reserve a later time. Did not like this pr [... read more]ocess, however, the food was much better than the buffet. ( we ate our dinners in a la carte 6 of our 7 nights) The beach was a major disappointment!!! Had to walk to either side of resort to access two beaches. One side had the beach bar, the other had the beach snack bar.... Bank was under construction 2nd day into vacation and they didn't accommodate vacationers otherwise to access exchanging money. Unfortunately the workers are the ones that suffer. The workers were amazing. Friendly, helpful and extremely outgoing. Their entertainment was very good. The dancers put on great shows. Loved them! Love Veradero and will be back again. This was our first time to this particular resort and I cant see myself going back. I'd much prefer to stay a little further down the beach

Sanctuary at Grand Memories Varadero: People make this a 5 Star

Check in was a breeze and we were up graded to a suite from a junior suite, it was my husband and mine birthdays and we were also brought wine and cake. Both butlers, Abel and Josie were attentive but not overwhelming. They couldn't do enough for you. Beaches are well taken care of and the gentle taking care of the chairs always tried to accommodate everyone. They even brought drinks. Sanctuary beach bar always made sure everyone was looked after on a first come first serve basis. The people in  [... read more]the pool bar also worked very hard and would deliver your order of food to your seat. Our wonderful housekeeper, Yanelis could not do enough for us, leaving extra water when requested and of course leaving beautiful towel art each day. Hot water wasn't always available which was negative especially after being at the beach all day. Food I would assume is not served hot here as after request of being hot food was still just warm, no biggie. Girls in the restaurants were very kind and also worked hard. Not all things on the menu were in stock, but you should be able to work around this. The Sanctuary lobby bar was great to go for a drink after dinner, serving top brands and made a terrific coffee in the morning. I would recommend staying on the Sanctuary side as the Grand Memories side is very busy. This would be a wonderful resort if you are looking to be spoiled. Well done Sanctuary, we will return.

Memories Jibacoa: Overall a good experience

First off I must say that the staff were great, our Sunwing rep was fantastic and the resort grounds were beautiful. Our room was dated but kept very clean. The beach is nice but has rocks in the water due to the close proximity to the reef. For those looking for a swimming beach, this isn't it. If you are a snorkeler then you will enjoy this beach. This is why I chose this resort. The food in the buffet wasn't good by my standards, but the International and Italian restaurants were good.  [... read more]The Cuban restaurant was pretty much the same as the buffet. I knew going in that food in Cuba is sub standard and it is the beach and the people that make this place memorable. Apparently there are 2 good restaurants on the main highway (can walk to them) where you can eat very well according to people we spoke to at the resort. This resort is small and quaint and very relaxing. Especially good if you are wanting to disconnect from your very busy lives. This resort attracts a lot of older guests but was surprised with the amount of younger people. It was a good mix of different ages. Overall enjoyed my time there. Now if we could only control the weather!

Iberostar Origin Laguna Azul: Iberostar Azul

Remember, Cuba is a third world country so when people complain, they aren't taking into consideration the circumstances of the people of Cuba. We had nothing but excellent service at the Iberostar. Yes, it was in need of repair and yes, it was very outdated but if you want to feel welcome and cared for, this is a great place to go.

Starfish Varadero: Spacious resort

It was my first time at starfish varadero resort. I really enjoyed the grounds being spacious and despite renovations going on I did not find it overly bothersome. The hotel is getting the attention it needs and it will look even better with time. Food is something I cherish in Cuba as the Cubans do their absolute best and i always enjoy the cuisine. Weather waa great and hotel service excellent. Will be visiting starfish again!

Memories Jibacoa: My all-time favourite resort

This resort was a favourite of my late husband’s, and we travelled there together five times. I have since been back twice and was greeted like family. The people there are the kindest, sweetest you will ever meet. The grounds are immaculate, their recovery after the hurricane of 2016 amazing. I hope to return again.

Palma Real: Good resort, walking distance to the city

Hotel rooms are very nice and clean, food is not much selection, pools are great, many people come back here multiple times, beach is just across the street and very nice. The best thing about this resort is that it’s walking distance to any bar or shopping. The most negative experience was when the resort run out of beer for two days.
