Bahia Principe Escape Ambar: Top notch vacation resort

The resort continues to expand with many different areas and amenities to provide something for everyone, yet maintains the same high level of facilities care and service throughout. The staff are consistently friendly and eager to help.

Bahia Principe Explore El Portillo: Great resort!

Overall the resort was great, friendly staff and entertainers. The food was really great except the Oriental night, the meat and vegetable was drenched in sweet sauce and food was not appealing at all. Every other night was great. The water park eatery only had hot dogs and popcorn, perhaps some fruits and veggies would make the parents happy =) The maintenance crew starts cutting the grass/trimming leaves as early as 9:00am which woke us up on our 2nd day. Shouldn't the hotel have all our info already instead of making us fill out a form after a long day of travelling? Which by the way, I never received my hotel voucher via email from Trip Advisor which delayed my check-in at the resort and the man that was at front desk was no help at all. He told me to wait, I waited for him to put on the resort bracelet on every person that was on our bus and then he proceeded to tell me that I needed to print the hotel voucher out (for the 2nd time). First off I never received a voucher via email (I checked my sent, deleted and inbox) and second of all in this day in age, who prints anymore? Lastly, the Air Canada rep should've gave us the hotel form to fill out while we were on the bus. My in laws arrived few days later and had the opportunity to fill out their checkin form on the bus. On our way to the resort, our Air Canada rep asked the driver to drop him off at his home 30 mins into the ride and left the bus to fend for ourselves when we arrived at the resort. On the way back to airport, the Air Canada rep should've had all the airport forms ready to go on the bus so we can fill it out to make our checkin seamless when we got to the airport. My brother in law had email the hotel before we arrived to inquire if our rooms could be close together. We never received a reply and when we asked at front desk, they told us to wait. we never ended up getting rooms close together. Half of The kids movie at night were in Spanish which was a bit of a bummer. Actually this is the first resort I've been to where there were many non English speaking staff. That didn't bother me much though! To end on a positive note, everything was really close, the beach, pool and resort which made it easy when travelling with kids. Overall the trip was great, but there are few areas that could be improved.

This is our 4th time here,wouldn't go anywhere else. The food at buffets and alacartes is exceptional, the wine is great,service is great. Beautiful big rooms,clean and a/c always works. The animation staff are great,always get people moving and dancing, they do some crazy fun things at pool. All in all the resort is best bang for your buck. We will definately be going back in coming years.

This is our 4th time here,wouldn't go anywhere else. The food at buffets and alacartes is exceptional, the wine is great,service is great. Beautiful big rooms,clean and a/c always works. The animation staff are great,always get people moving and dancing, they do some crazy fun things at pool. All in all the resort is best bang for your buck. Thank-you to the entire staff for making my husbands and my experience to Punta Cana just fantastic at the Luxury Bahia Principe Ambar Blue. Words alone cannot describe how great our experience from the initial booking with Trip Central staff and the hotel staff was. Everybody gave 110% service and this resort is our number one go to going forward. Management should be very proud for selecting superb staff with friendliness and outstanding manners. Foyers, washrooms, rooms, landscaping, pool areas were top notch and everybody at this resort should be so proud of themselves for making it such a success. We ate at different buffets every day and different restaurants throughout the week and everybody and everything was AMAZING. Thank-you. We had ten guests initially and we stayed a few extra days by ourselves at the end. Great job everybody! When guests complain on the language problems they were having they need to remember they're in the Dominican Republic and should be grateful that the locals show patience to us the foreigners. Thanks again for just being perfect.

Bahia Principe Grand San Juan: Overall Great resort

The grounds were well kept. The food was awesome. The rooms and buildings are starting to look a bit dated , but still kept extremely clean. The rooms need coffee makers in them. Staff very nice. Overall a great resort but not 5 star.

Bahia Principe Escape Ambar: Beautiful resort

Was beautiful,.would highly recommend this resort The pool and the rooms were decorated very nicely. The hotel staff was very friendly and very accommodating. The housekeeper was extremely friendly and always available. She did an amazing job with our upkeep of our room!!👌🏻

Bahia Principe Escape Bouganville: Excellent resort- great service, great entertainment, but the beach is not so good. I am more swarming pool person so it did not bother me at all!

Rooms are clean, the resort is beautiful, lots of grean speace, lots of facilities, gym, spa, tennis court, golf, bikini and many activities. This resorts is more fit for couples then single people. However, I would go agsin for sure

staff were exceptional, golf course was superb ,room was good ,food was good , beach was beautiful, overall trip was fantastic. I would recommend the Bahia Principe Sian Kaan to all that wanted a exceptional golf trip with all the perks.

Bahia Principe Escape Ambar: Awesome Trip

The hotel and trip easily exceeded our expectations! considering it was our first trip together, it couldn't have went smoother! Laura, our travel agent was a big help! Jamaica was awesome! the room view was amazing, it left us awe struck, we didn't expect to have a terrace!

Bahia Principe Grand San Juan: Wonderful Resort!!

We loved every minute of our stay at the resort!! The staff were very friendly and accommodating. We had a beautiful wedding on the beach and were very pleased with all the details provided for by the wedding coordinator! We will definetly return!!

Bahia Principe Grand Bavaro: Awesome place.and.people

Everything was perfect! The landscaping was beautiful. The food was great as far as buffets go. The room was nice. Clean. Served it purpose. The beach...was amazing! Loved it. Will be booking for next year!

Bahia Principe Escape Ambar: Beautiful grounds and room

We were very pleased with the room and grounds at the Luxury Bahia Principe Ambar Green - this is the resort we were at - not the Ambar Blue. The room was really spacious and the bathroom was huge and always clean. The staff always left us lots of coffee and water - and once we had to point out the fridge wasn't replenished...we never had to ask again. The food was mediocre - it was almost impossible to get HOT food - everything was lukewarm - even straight from the kitchen. There was always  [... read more]a good selection of options to choose from. It was difficult to get slushy style drinks - strawberry daiquiris were impossible to get a good one. We had a hard time getting any staff that had a good grasp of the English language so there were barriers when trying to get drinks made and food. Even getting a glass of ice needed a translater. The majority of the staff was friendly and always happy to help if they could. The biggest plus about this place was the cleanliness of the grounds, rooms and common areas.

Bahia Principe Explore Jamaica: Very nice resort

My husband and I enjoyed our stay. Entertainment, food, service, beach and pool very nice. Only two issues I had was we were in block 15 and it was very noisy as we were close to the entertainment. So if you are earlier to go to bed then ask for a quieter block away from the entertainment. Also, the heavy wood doors were always being slammed by the guests. It was very loud and would wake anyone up. Not sure what could be done about that though. Secondly some sections of the pool have no st [... read more]airs or ladder. I had no problem getting out but many women with a little extra weight on could not get out.

Bahia Principe Explore Coba: Wonderful staff!

This resort is HUGE! We really enjoyed Coba, it was really my style, it is a bit less busy and shuts down around 11ish. Tulum is just a trolley ride away for those who want to party on til sun comes up. Coba has a beautiful pool that is still away from the kids waterslide pool so for people without kids it is still great. The staff are amazing, they are friendly and kind. I can't say enough nice things about the wonderful people. We had our room cleaned spic and span every day, the fridge, shampoo, towels etc. were replaced everyday. The beach was great, the dolphins were soooo cute and very smart. This is a must see as it is free everyday down near Coba beach. We were a bit surprised with the extra costs for the safe "key" but our friends who flew with Air Canada had it for free, we with West Jet had to pay $5 a day U.S. The shows were good and the shops had the usual stuff. I found this resort really cool as there were shops scattered throughout the resort and in hidden locations. Hacienda was neat, bands playing and disco. Casino was a bit of a disappointment. Tulum is bigger and a bit more busy. Food was great, drinks were really yummy! All in all the resort was great!

We had a wonderful time....very clean, rooms were always spotless and we had the best cheery maid....the food was amazing, especially the a la cart restaurants!!! The beach was not the best although they did rake it in the morning...

Bahia Principe Grand San Juan: Only worth it if you get it cheap

The grounds were lovely. Rooms somewhat dated but comfortable. Staff very friendly and helpful. Insufficient beach chairs for such a large hotel. People constantly searching for a beach chair or stealing your chair if you get up for a drink. Food not so great. Too salty also. Beach horrible. Water brown and full of sea weed. Will not go back.

Bahia Principe Explore La Romana: Fantastic vacation!!!!

Very impressed with the size of the rooms, cleanliness of the site and the great service. Staff was very polite. Enjoyed the buffets and restaurants, especially La Corales (Brazilian steakhouse). Pool was warm and there were always lounge chairs available somewhere. The beach was clean and we took walks every day. Not the typical blue water like in Punta Cana, the water was murky but clean and warm. Would definitely recommend this resort and would return.

Bahia Principe Escape Ambar: Great Vacation!

Let start by saying this is a BIG resort. Covers a lot of real estate with 4 different sections on the property. With that said getting around was not too difficult with trams running throughout the resort. The timings for these trams where not consistent in fact sometimes it was quicker to walk to the beach than wait for the tram. The food was very good at all the locations we visited however the a la carte's were a mix of buffet (salad and desert) and sit down dinners (main course) something [... read more] that we did not expect. The Ambar green area which we stayed in was very nice, ground well maintained and very clean. Big pool area with a good bar, they had entertainment most afternoons for this area. The beach area was very nice with lots of cots but you had to be early to get close to the beach. Located on the Bavaro beach, you can walk for KM in either direction which was very nice. The check in process was done very well however we did not get what we requested when we booked the vacation, 2nd floor looking over the pool. We got bottom floor at the end of the Ambar green. Although not happy with the location originally, it turned out to be central to the resort which made it easier to get around. The room was large and clean and certainly met our expectations. The only downside was that we arrived in La Romana vice Punta Cana. The upside no long lineups for customs, the downside was the extra 50 minute drive to the resort. Overall a great stay and we would return in the future.

Bahia Principe Escape Sian Ka'an: Fantastic!!!

Staff - everyone was incredibly friendly, very accommodating and always eager to help. Food - a la cartes were incredible, buffet was good, accommodations made for food restrictions Resort - small, quiet, adults only, exactly what we were looking for, trolley takes you to the other resorts and beach, very frequent and convenient. Overall highly recommend this resort, would probably say it's one of the best in Mexico.
