Memories Caribe Beach Resort: Meh resort, brilliant beach

This was my 4th time in Cuba and I guess I must have stayed at some really nice resorts in the past because I was quite disappointed with this one. The room they put us in was disgusting. It had mold on the walls, smelt stale and beds were hard as a rock. The moved us to the 2nd level and the room was way better but the AC didn't work!! And in 42 degrees, you definitely need the cool break. Food was ok at the buffet. A la carte Restaurants were delicious. Beach was just stunning, super busy.  [... read more]Pool was nice. Service was ok...half the time they were out of something. One day it was ice, another it was pop, another it was pina coladas...etc. entertainment was...well interesting and Kind of lacking. Overall, I would not Come to this resort again. Spend the extra few dollars and pick a nicer place.

Melia Jardines del Rey: Resort to be avoided

I had to go to their customer service every day to get what I was entitled to + we had food poisoning as well on top of that. For those in the customer service office, I was a real nightmare. In the end, they apologized me in writing and gave me a bottle of Cuban rum. The resort is inundated with mosquitoes and no one seemed to care much about that. WiFi prepaid cards - sold for 2 CUC per hour, but in reality you can use it 15-20 min only. The exchange office is ripping tourists off. They gi [... read more]ve you 65 CUC for 100 CAD instead of giving you 78 CAD as per official exchange rate. The rooms and resort are new, well maintained and look nice and clean. The restaurant staff is polite, courteous and helpful. The beach and water are excellent. I wouldn't recommend this resort to anyone as a 5-star category, because it just isn't- taking everything into consideration and anything paid more than 700 CAD per person is a waste of money. All Inclusive is just a slogan; in reality, it's too far away from that.

Melia Jardines del Rey: Great

The resort was overall very great. Food, beach, pool, and service was exceptional. However the only complaint would be about the cleanliness of the washrooms, but other then that the resort was great. Would definently recommend it!

Memories Caribe Beach Resort: avarage resort

We went to Memories Carbie resorts and spa. The beach is beautiful. We loved it. There is a lot of mosquitos and black Flys. In the rooms there is a king bed. Don't leave sweets open theres alot of sweet liking ants .

Memories Flamenco Beach Resort: You know the resort was bad, when people on the plane were SICK

The quality of food served was horrible, with burnt bacon and rock hard, over cooked meat. They served shrimp that was not de-veined, and the signs for the types of food were all incorrect. Good luck if you have food allergies. Both my wife and I were sick on the way home. We had killed about 15 cockroaches in the room, 2 spiders and a few mosquitoes. WIFI in the lobby was supposed to be included when we purchased the trip, and they wanted to charge us for that. You had to pay extra to use the night club, and they closed early. Night entertainment was poor. The only good thing about the resort was the beach area.

Melia Jardines del Rey: Good Resort

Hotel lobby - fabulous, large lots of seating available. Good bar. Hotel Rooms - great. Only negative would be the coffee/tea/beer not replaced everyday Food - needs some improvement, although there are choices, not enough green veggies or even lettuce for salads. Hotel Concierge - very helpful when i contacted them directly to assist with my Mum's wheelchair and hotel room requests. Food a little better. Beach - too many rocks, so hard to walk out into the sea. heard from bartender that a Dutch firm is being brought in to add tons of sand. which will cover the rocks and make the sand/beach itself extremely more wider. Close to the airport which is a bonus.

Pools and Room was great. Food was ok. Beach is a fail. Too many rocks, and there was a stink smell in the air (sewer, swamp?). Didn't stock the room with water or beers (we really just wanted water) until we complained twice. They ran out of beach towels a few times so we had none. I had arranged for a cake for my kids birthday a week before leaving and was told yes they would be happy to provide a cake (I was willing to pay $). Btw, $5.00 to visit the market is a rip off they're just taking you to a souvenir shop. The hotel souvenir market was better and cheaper. The pool entertainers will pay no attention to you unless you're female and you're young. Many of the kids wanted the balls to play volleyball but it seems they would only lend the balls if the young ladies were involved, and only wanted to do activities where they could get close to the young ladies. Many of the people we met there had the same comments. We spent most of our time in the pool, and had fun despite all of the issues.

Memories Flamenco Beach Resort: Nice people

Rocky beach , you may use water shoes . Clean rooms. Nice people/workers Entertainment Staff nice and entertaining Two adequate and clean pools with plenty of room Very close to the airport , about a 20 -minute drive shuttle

Hotel Playa Paraiso: Good resort

The resort grounds are beautifully landscaped with many trees, flowers and different plants. This was our second trip to this resort and while the food was less exciting than before, still, no one in our group got sick from the food or water so we were happy with that. Memories Caribe Beach Resort: We went for the beach and we were in paradise

From Spain this trip was 4 times more $$. Why? I don't know. The resort itself is smaller then many others and we loved that. 5 nights and 6 full days and most stuff knew our names and were wonderful! We flew direct with Sunwing from Toronto to CCC at 6:30am and were on the beach by 10:40 am! The day we left, we stayed on the beach till 5pm and the free shuttle bus took us to close by airport at 5:30 pm. All the drinks were included! So add rum or something to it or ask the bartender to surprised and he will be happy to do it! OUR Superior Balcony balcony had a romantic and breathtaking away view of the lagoon, nice size balcony on 2nd floor and total privacy! We woke up to sunrise and it's reflection in the water.... total peace and tranquility despite the fact that we were in block 19 close to Theatre Stage and pool. The BEACH = was one of the BEST in the world for shallow clean peaceful water and view on both sides of shores without any hotels or construction! The sand was darker gold and at our hotel soft. We were able to wonder off into each side of the beach for a stretch of one to two hours. The hotel next to us, it's bigger, with construction, with corals and rocks ... but you can't see from the water as it's hidden by trees. That's another bonus that we always found (at times with some creativity) chairs in the shade. But the trees and 3 or so rows of chairs/beds is very helpful as the direct sun is HOT even for a beach lover like my friend from Ibiza! We walked and walked along the beach, nature and us... no other people around.... we were in paradise! In the early afternoon as others, we were able to put our chairs in the "biggest swimming pool" with a drink in one hand and holding each other's hands and trying to believe that a place like this still exists againts the greed of huge hotels and over crowded areas. The hotel was sold out, but not crowded, don't ask me why. It's NOT a 4 or 5 star hotel!!! And we did not go for that, we got what we went for and MORE! The food was average, and we dined at 3 restaurants and nothing to write much about, but we eat healthy and there were enough choices for that. Who goes to Cuba for food or fancy hotel rooms? Please go to another island so I don't listen to your complaints. My only complaint to the hotel management was the fact that NO ONE can do anything about beach towels as there aren't any to exchange. We washed ours in the ocean and sun dried and reused it. It was fun :) just had to plan and think ahead. The hotel grounds are kept clean and we did not find anything broken or worth complaining about. We would go back again and again.. Just bring DEED for misquitos (tiny ones that you can hardly see). I got few bites, my friend got more and I saw other people with a lot of bites! It's taking a week for them to go away from our bodies. Still scratching .... "Memories of Caribe Beach Resort" The best show was Michael Jackson, so please do NOT miss it. We took the bus for 5 CUCs to Playa Pilar and after 3 hours were happy to return to our Paradise beach for the reasons above. I had been to other places and hotels in Cuba, not to mention other places in the world, so has my partner who travels the world from Ibiza. Our values and appreciation for nature and privacy and peace and each other's company may be very different from other travellers. This is my personal experience. I must also thank the stuff at TripCentral for all the assistance and getting us ready for the trip.

Memories Caribe Beach Resort: Amazing!!

This resort is awesome. Ya sure it's a little dated but you are there for the beach...and when I say beach I mean WOW. Best beach in Cuba. Nothing compares. Food was good, room was good. Can't pass up that beach.

Iberostar Origin Daiquiri: A bit disapointed

We stayed at Iberostar Daiquiri from July 22 to July 29 (4 adults and 2 children). When we arrived we were impressed with the place. We tough we made a good choice given the fact that we spent a lot of time in looking for a place that would be ideal for us traveling with small children. The rooms were ok (not the cleanest but we did not go for the rooms). Food for the first 2 days was ok - quality and quantity. After the 2nd day the hotel was invaded with Cuban families - either family or acquai [... read more]ntances of employees. The quality of food and quantity took a sharp decline and the service too (at this point most employees did not care about foreign tourists they were catering for their own families - it was so obvious - as an example: one morning we were looking for some yogurt for our children but they said they only have it every other day. Ok no problem. We waited another two days still no yogurt. When we left the buffet, on the hall, one employee was giving yogurts from a bag to another lady, supposedly her family member...). The only consistently positive thing about the place is its beach. I would recommend this hotel from October to May when only tourist are allowed to stay.

Hotel Camino del Mar: Wonderful resort

We were lucky to visit when the resort was fairly quiet. Grounds, room and beach were clean. We asked for a room in the upper level near the beach, but we got a room in the bungalow group which is near the beach and we were happy with that. The toilet would not flush and a light bulb was out, but they were fixed right away after we called Customer Service, and they followed up within a few hours to find out whether the problem was solved. I must say that the buffet bar i [... read more]s very small compared to other resorts we have stayed, but food was sufficient and because the place is not crowded, we did not have to line up for food. The last time we were there, we had to line up for food. We have visited this resort before and we went back because we love fishing off the long pier. We caught a lot of fish and gave them to the local people who were fishing there.

Melia Jardines del Rey: Very nice resort

The service was amazing, staff very friendly and attentive. The resort is large but well laid out. Lots of shade and seating. All restaurants air conditioned very nice to get out of the heat. Buffet was ok.. It's about quantity not quality Go to the grill stations if you don't mind the wait they are better. Alacartes were ok, the Japanese one was by far the best. The beach was rocky bring water shoes great for snorkeling. Overall nice stay, would recommend!

Hotel Vigia: More than I expected

I normally stay at the higher star rated Melia next door. This resort was better than I expected, the rooms were older but larger, the washrooms were always spotless and the staff very friendly and accommodating. The only draw back, they tried the experiment of inviting local Cubans to the resort, who had no idea what was expected of them. The buffet became a shambles, the toilets were left dirty and the pool area was one large waste bin. Guest services had to apologize to the other visitors fo [... read more]r the lack of food. They admitted what happened was a surprise, and said they would be reviewing this change of policy and it shouldn't happen again. I would advise visitors to check if the resort is open to "a conference" before they book , if it is restricted to guests they should enjoy this resort.

Memories Flamenco Beach Resort: Great Value for Great Price

I had a very pleasant experience on this trip. For the cost of the trip it is well worth it. The resort workers were incredibly friendly, the resort lobby was really beautiful as was the rest of the resort. The pools and beaches were also very beautiful. The resort was lacking in some finishing touches such as having an ample supply of sports equipment (soccer balls, basketballs, etc.) though the facilities they had were beautiful. They had a nightclub about a 10 minute walk down the street which wasn't bad. Overall, I was very pleased with the value of the trip/resort. I would recommend this resort to someone else. They workers at the resort are unforgettable and make your stay that much warmer and better. I give this resort experience 4 out of 5 stars.

Memories Caribe Beach Resort: Faut voir

Hôtel bien et chambre confortable, très très belle plage sable blanc. La bouffe c'est Cuba mais il y avait de la très bonne pizza à la plage et au restaurant qui est ouvert 24 heures et on trouvait toujours des frites et les hot dog était bon. Je recommande cette pour le prix Hôtel $710.00 à la fin juin.

Sol Cayo Coco: Nice relaxing vacation

We enjoyed a relaxing enjoyable stay at Sol Cayo Coco. The gardens were beautifully well kept. The rooms although dated were really clean. We had some issues with our first room with the air conditioning but , they accommodated us right away with another room. The costumer service was very kind and helpful. The staff is so friendly!!! Melia Jardines del Rey: Coin Operated

Stayed for 1 week alone. Very clean resort, nice pools, nice rooms. Beach WAY TO FAR from everything. "Coin Operated staff" I found that service tripled after tipping. I shouldn't have to Tip EVERYONE But they all changed body language, facial composure and overall attitude. Staff was nice, BUT like my brother and sister once tipped Food: for Cuba, the food was ok.
