Bahia Principe Escape Ambar: Bahia Luxury Ambar Punta Cana
We just recently returned from a week's vacation to the Luxury Ambar in Punta Cana and have to say this was probably the best Bahia we have been too.Even though Covid was still out there ,we did not feel we were at risk as the resort took a great deal of precautionary measures .All staff wore masks ,there was adequate space (6ft at least)between tables. Clients were asked to wear madks if you were less than 6 ft.If you left an area it was immediately sanitized by the staff and they even went as [... read more]
Royalton Bavaro Resort and Spa: Fantastic family resort
The Royalton Bavaro is a beautiful, modern and clean resort perfect for couples of families. We travelled with a 6 month old and stayed in a junior swim up suite and it was phenomenal. The staff were incredible, the food was delicious with a wide variety of options, and the pools and beach were great (always a seat available). A short drive from the Punta Cana airport as well. We will definitely return!
Royalton Bavaro Resort and Spa: Amazing Hotel and Staff
Very impressed with cleanliness and friendly staff! Rooms were amazing and well cared for. Comfortable beds! Restaurants easy to get into and a great variety of food! Definitely will go back. Highly recommended!
Bahia Principe Escape Bouganville: Nice holiday
Resort is very well-kept. The beds are very hard but they do have pillow toppers if you ask the butler for them. À la cart dinners are very good mind you the Buffet needs some work. You seem to be eating the same food over and over. It is a very long drive from the airport I would not do it again. It is nice to have an activity pool and a quiet pool. The beach is a big disappointment that is full of jellyfish as well.
Sunscape Puerto Plata: Sunscape Puerto Plata
The resort is a hidden gem, it is beautiful and the staff amazing. The covid protocol is still in effect at the resort, masking to enter restaurants and shops. Visiting Puerto Plata City, no protocol, they have no covid. The food at the resort is amazing, buffet and al a carts. There are usually 2 different al a carts each night all different. There was theme nights at the buffet eg. Mexican, American, Dominican etc.. The pool is a walk in pool for those who want to slowly get in. The Staf [... read more]
VH Gran Ventana Beach Resort: A pleasant stay!
I stayed with family in April 2022 and purchased the Premium Package. The premium lounge was incredible and definitely worth the price of the upgrade, in my opinion. The staff there were attentive and accommodating, especially Yohelisa the bartender. The beach was also stunning with great chair-side service and Bali beds in the premium area. The room was quiet and clean but a bit dated, nothing fancy. The buffet food was varied and I enjoyed dinner at the Octopus Restaurant but was disappointed [... read more]
Bahia Principe Escape Ambar: Great resort
Entertainment was great Staff very helpful and friendly Rooms were great and cleaned daily Restaurants were superb The beaches were beautiful and the staff cleaned the weeds daily. The coffee shop was a daily routine with us and besides the cappuccinos and lattes they also served up great snacks and desserts
Bahia Principe Escape Aquamarine: To BIG
I have been to this resort many times from only two sections to the now 7 sections. They can't enlarge beach area so the beach is crowed. The pools are large but most days there were no free lounges to be had, guest hog the lounges at pool and beach , they must feel special since they don't have problem saving lounges when they don't intend to use most of the day and management doesn't seem to want to enforce the NO reserve rule. Food was good, service most days was excellent , at times lobby ba [... read more]
Whala Boca Chica: Adequate Accommodation
Definitely a three- star. The rooms are a bit beat up but fairly well maintained. Food service was good, although some areas understaffed (snack bar) on the weekend when the resort fills with locals. Poor signage made it hard to navigate what was where, and I received NO information about hotel amenities. If you don’t speak fluent Spanish you do not get the same service (ie: being ignored when a native speaker starts a conversation with the staff)
Cofresi Palm Beach and Spa Resort: good for the money
lots of pros and cons about this resort. considering we paid less than 800 each, the trip was well worth it. food was decent although ala cartes were always booked up. tried to book rodizzo on the first night and it was booked for the entire week. the beach was small and secluded, and one end was perfect for snorkeling. wifi was pretty crappy, but you do get one hour a day for free. souvenirs, drinks, smokes etc are more expensive here than other countries like cuba or mexico, and alth [... read more]
Royalton CHIC Punta Cana: Loved this resort!
The CHIC lived up to our expectations. Service was excellent, quality of food and drink was exceptional and newer decor was fabulous! Lots of hand sanitizer was available in washrooms and all needed to use before entering the buffet. Not all staff wore masks but guess DR like Canada have removed the mask mandate. All staff was eager to please and lots of variety of entertainment ..not your typical shows ..very creative. Diamond Club is closer to pool activities so could be a bit louder. We chose [... read more]
Iberostar Waves Costa Dorada: Great resort just some things need to change
I am very happy you chose me as one to do a survey. It is my second visit at your hotel. Your staff are amazing. Chocolate at the entertainment crew fantastic. But there were two people I want to give special attention too. I don't know her name but she was my cleaning lady in room 7212 from April 2nd to the 11th. When I travel, I purposefully do not allow cleaning people in my room for I know they work hard and want to give them a rest. However, I tip for the days they did not come in due to my [... read more]
Dreams Onyx Resort and Spa: Will return to Dreams Onyx
We were very pleased with all aspects that Dreams Onyx resort offered. Very clean rooms, comfortable bed, friendly staff, good food, nice beach but....red wine needs to improve and Wifi in room was at most times non-existent.
Cofresi Palm Beach and Spa Resort: Beautiful Resort
Nothing to complain about at this resort. Laid out extremely well with tons of options for food/drink/swimming/entertainment. This resort is not for people with mobility issues though! Lots of stairs and hills to climb.
Cofresi Palm Beach and Spa Resort: Had an amazing week
Appreciated that there was a host named Freddie for air transat. Shuttle to and from airport is all included. Cofresi staff were amazing and positive. No issues with our rooms or experience. Generally would say if you go with this hotel, book your a la carte meals early in the week to get a good reservation. Otherwise I enjoyed the performances and events at the lobby.
VH Gran Ventana Beach Resort: Good resort
Nice resort, mask are worn In the restaurant until seated, also worn to get a drink at the bars, rooms were clean, staff were friendly, didn't like that you had to go to the pool area to get coffee and not until 6:30 am, need more variety of food at the beach bar, entertainment was good but the same every night, not enough music or entertainment in the day. Entertainment at night was only about 2 hours most times. Food was good. Beds were very comfortable.
Excellence El Carmen: I recommend!
This resort was great. We enjoyed every minute of our 7 day stay. From the moment we arrived to the moment we had to say good bye, the staff was friendly, food was great, beach was beautiful, drinks were plentiful. We have no negative comments and would recommend.
Bahia Principe Escape Ambar: Pretty resort
This resort is a four star. Food average, the reservation system for dinners poor, trying to get a spot on beach and pool a real challenge even at 6 a.m.. Lack of English speaking staff makes communications very difficult. Butler service should be proactive not upon request. The positives are beautiful resort, room comfortable, pool service excellent. Regarding Covid, all staff wore masks, plenty of sanitation stations, staff constantly cleaning public areas and washrooms. Masking by vacationer [... read more]
Bahia Principe Escape Ambar: Good resort
Have been to this resort many times prior to the pandemic. Having returned last week I had certain expectations that weren’t met. Service is no longer great. They appear to have less staff and although they are trying they can’t keep up with servicing everyone as expected. Food options although still ok it’s no longer the same. Beach area is crowded and if you want to get a good spot you have to get up very early before sunrise. However it’s still a good resort very clean and good val [... read more]
Bahia Principe Escape Ambar: Would not recommend
Definitely not a five star, language barrier a real problem. Running out of things every day and having to get up at 5AM to get a spot by the pool or beach is just crazy. All the good ala cart restaurants were already booked on the day we arrived. Could not get a hold of our so called butler.
