Secrets Maroma Beach Riviera Cancun: Best experience yet

The resort is smaller but really well laid out with beautiful greenery. Plenty of room by the pool if you want and lots of options for the beach. There are also nooks and crannies all over. The food is very good and the outdoor Mexican buffet on show night was outstanding. Loads of options for daytime activities if you wanted, or not - we weren't hassled to do stuff. All the staff were incredible! They really made us feel special. We would definitely consider a return visit.

Bahia Principe Explore Coba: Nice resort, very big, but had a few issues, and Beach not great!

We flew out of Hamilton, On, which was great. Arrived and had to wait to get our room, which was fine. Our room was on ground floor and the first thing we noticed was the room was full of mosquitoes. We had brought spray, but that really didn't do anything. They seemed to come from sink and AC unit. Every day there seemed to be more. The ground floor AC unit didn't seem to get very cold after the first day, but we lived with it. We had mentioned about the bug issue and some one said the hote [... read more]l would spray. So we called after the 3rd day, no one ever came after asking a couple times. 2nd day the maid never came. We always left a tip in fridge and a note with goodies and $ for maid everyday. she didn't come our last day either. By the end of the week the AC and bugs were getting horrible so went to front desk to ask someone to deal with them. Again no one ever came. Last night we wanted a half decent sleep before travelling so we asked to have the AC looked at again, No one ever came by. The rooms other wise were fine, pools were nice, workers around resort great, food good, Tullum resort had the better buffet. Queen tribute was awesome. drinks ok, but would have liked a bit better fancier drinks, but it was still great service and depending on what bar you were at was better selection,depended on what they could make well. I would say Mediterranean was best al a carte. Beach isn't great compared to Cuba and Punta Cana. Weather was awesome and Mexico is very nice. I think I would try a different resort next time.

Dreams Aventuras Riviera Maya: Hidden gem

Bahia Principe Escape Sian Ka'an: A True Gem

First time staying a Bahia Principe property. The staff were AMAZING. This so evident in the way we were treated as guest. It was as if everyone loved their job. It wasn't about them but rather how they could best serve us and make our stay a joy. Mission accomplished. The Siam Ka'an was one of the resorts on the property with access to the other two resorts, shuttle service prompt and driven by lovely drivers and engaging music. Valentin Imperial Riviera Maya: Gorgeous resort!

The grounds were stunning, so much attention to detail. Room could use an upgrade, had a few bugs in it, back of the couch was stained, water leaked under the shower door during every shower and more counter space in the bathroom would be nice. Beach was well kept, pool is beautiful. Food was good and staff very friendly and efficient! We booked a catamaran excursion from the booth by the pool and this was disappointing. THe staff was excellent though. I definitely want to come back to this resort, it is so beautiful.

Bahia Principe Explore Akumal: We had a very nice time!

House wines were much better than last year, which was our only real complaint at that time. Food was excellent and a good selection of bar stock - could maybe expand on rum selections though. Our room was clean and comfortable and we enjoyed spending each day at the "solo adultos" beach with fantastic weather. Resort staff do a great job cleaning up the seemingly never ending seaweed deposits each day. We will look forward to coming back again. One pretty minor complaint - please put more wall hooks in rooms/bathrooms for towels, toiletry bags, etc.

Royalton Riviera Cancun Resort and Spa: Third visit in two years - just keeps getting better!

This was the third time in two years that I have visited this resort. The first and last time I traveled solo. The second time I traveled with my three adult children. Obviously, I love this place! All three times I stayed in the regular section - building 9 - in what would be considered the kids' section because it's right beside the kids' pool. I found this location very quiet and certainly not a long walk from all the action. I ate at the buffet for breakfast each day but always found [... read more] an ala carte restaurant for my dinner. The food in all the restaurants is fantastic -- lots of choices as well as a kids' menu available. There have been lots of negative reviews about the beach. There is some seaweed washed ashore on the beach but resort staff do use tractors each day to try and keep it to a minimum. The water is not clear and snorkeling at the beach is not good. If swimming at the beach is a deal breaker for you this might not be the right location. I personally like to walk the beach but then I prefer to swim in the pools. All of the staff are wonderful!! Shout out to my personal pool waiter, Cesar, who kept me well hydrated each day. I do tend to tip well. I take US$ - lots of ones. I tend to leave $5/person at dinner and a dollar or two at the breakfast buffet -- waiters bring mimosas, juice, tea, coffee etc. I usually tip $1/drink at the pool / pool bar / evening entertainment. You can exchange larger bills for ones at either the checkin desk or the Diamond Club lounge. The entertainment is good - there are a number of activities for both adults and kids each day. Some include beach volleyball, pool volleyball, aquafit, foam party in the pool just to name a few. Each evening there is a show at the main pool area -- a Fire Show, Circus Show, Aqua Show, Mexican night. One day they bring in local vendors so you can do your souvenir shopping right at the resort. I know this is a long review but I hope I have addressed some concerns that travelers have. You won't be disappointed at the Royalton!

Valentin Imperial Riviera Maya: first class resort

We just returned from a ten day vacation at the Valentin Imperial Resort and we had a fabulous stay here. The pros of the resort: The resort itself is pristine and the grounds are immaculate and quite lavish.The junior suite we stayed in was spacious, very comfortable with a great shower and lots of hot water at any time of the day- for those that may be interested in this! The food at all the restaurants is amazing, We did not have meal we did not enjoy but loved the Japanese (Ginger) restaurant for their sushi ,the Italian restaurant(l'Olivio) and Mar Y Tiera for more casual dining. The breakfast buffet is crazy huge and all great tasting and quality foods available. The bars around the resort are numerous, we loved the poolside service , the Martini bar and the Plaza D'Espania bar. All these features would not really stand out without the fabulous staff.Everyone we met is smiling , happy to be working here and always available to help you. From the gardeners to wait staff to the reception area, everyone is professional, friendly, and hard working.Most speak English but if you speak Spanish as my husband does;you can have some great conversations! The cons: We found the beach disappointing, the water was too rough to go in, the sand difficult to walk on as it is deep and lots of seaweed. It is relaxing to listen to the ocean but that's about it. We did not like the coffee, it has an unpleasant taste and not drinkable! Several others we spoke to felt the same . Overall we can't wait to return to the Valentin Imperial, a real gem of a resort!

Iberostar Waves Paraiso Beach: Beautiful resort

Considering we never wanted to visit Mexico with all the bad things you hear it was very beautiful and the resorts are very protected they really do care about the tourists , the resort was hudge and there is trollies to take you around if need be put the grounds are outstanding even driving in to the resort , some wild life roaming around Peacocks, swans , all kinds of birds , cotis , beach was great some days see weed put not smelly or over run and they clean it up all the time, only t [... read more]hing is it's not a long walking beach as there is 4 other sister resorts and thats about the size of the beach , the food was really good lots of choices and they change it up often, the room we had was close to the beach a walkout it was a little dark and need some repairs , put it was close to the pool and the breakfast buffet which was a great walk in the morning going though the palms and pathways was soo gorgeous. The entertainment was fantastic best I have seen at a resort, Overall it was a lot of fun and the have no mayor complaints, people are wonderful and very accomadating, , I would return to Mexico forsure and try another resort just because we don't go to the same one ever,

El Dorado Seaside Suites: best yet

we have been to several hotels in Maya and have to say best service and food ever.rooms are spotless and huge .only downfall is beach area is rocky and small . The staff were quick at getting any info you needed and friendly .will definitely be back soon !!

Royalton Riviera Cancun Resort and Spa: fantastic resort -

This hotel was amazing, very clean and loads of food options to choose from. The beach had a little seaweed but was quickly cleaned up. Entertainment was great in the evening and daytime always had stuff going on - drinks are great and staff are very friendly

Riu Playacar: Great Resort!

Enjoyed very much staying in this resort! Great food, very well kept resort grounds. Attentive and great customer service at the desk. Rooms are very clean and resort looks like new (not sure how old). Very safe place to stay at, was able to go for a walk to the town of Playa Del Carmen. Resort staff was tiresly working on taking care of the see weeds on the beach and it was the cleanest beach, compared to other resorts. Riu Yucatan: JUST WHAT WE NEEDED.

Excellent resort. Very clean, beautiful large beach, delicious food, great service. Also perfect size resort. Not oversized which is great. The chill pool was an excellent idea. Relaxing, quiet. Would recomend definitely.

Barcelo Maya Colonial: This resort is HUGE!

The grounds are very large, bring comfortable shoes to get around. The food was great for the most part; the chicken wings in the pool buffet were excellent! Xavier, the Yoga instructor at the Gym, was just terrific (9:00am) and the spa water treatment was great too (we did a day pass). The only irksome thing we found was people putting towels on the lounge chairs and never coming back to use them. This is NOT acceptable people. If you are going to reserve a chair you must also leave a perso [... read more]nal item (book, hat, etc) to indicate that you WILL come back, otherwise the towel doesn't count. Generally the staff are great, the shows are actually really good (the singers and dancers are the best I've experienced at a resort). The rooms could have been re-stocked better. I went with 2 other couples and they had amenities (bathroom stuff) that we never laid eyes on. Also, asked for a face cloth, got it, but didn't ever get a new one. The above are just cranky comments, otherwise the place is great and would recommend.

Bahia Principe Explore Akumal: Amazing resort and service!

Everything was so clean and very well maintained. We have recommended this resort to all of our family and friends! We will be booking some more time at this resort in the near future! Food was absolutely amazing. Hard to find in a lot of resorts. Very accommodating. Beautiful views on every corner of this resort!

Bahia Principe Escape Sian Ka'an: Beautiful resort and great value!

Sian Ka'an is a beautiful resort. The grounds are well kept and lush and the buildings are very well maintained. The beach is not the nicest I've seen but they do the best they can with what they have. However, the pools are lovely and numerous which makes up for the beach. Plus the attentive lounge side service can't be beat. The Lobby Bar was my favourite morning spot for latte / tea in the morning. The rooms were large and nicely appointed. Only real downside was that the A/C was loud but you got used to it. Really enjoyed the food...especially the a la carte restaurants (both at Sian Ka'an and the sister Bahia resorts). Favourites were Alux (Sian Ka'an), Arlequin (Akumel) and Tequila (Tulum). The buffet was good. There were items that were repeated daily (or things very similar) but the selection was broad and as long as you rotated through the offerings, you didn't get bored. Another great thing about the resorts was the staff. Unfailingly friendly and helpful. Most were great...those that were not great, were still good...so no complaints there. Overall, thoroughly enjoyed my 9 day stay and would happily come back. Definitely a lot of value for what you pay. I'm actually considering a family vacation next at one of the sister resorts in a couple of years.

Catalonia Royal Tulum: Amazing Resort Catalonia Royal Tulum

We loved the CRT because of the beautiful beach and pool, amazing service, cleanliness of the rooms and grounds, service and food. If you are seeking a quiet and relaxing vacation then this is the place. We will return for sure!

Blue Bay Grand Esmeralda: No bech in this hotel...

I would not recommend it to anyone. Room, food was good. Service was excellent . Pool,to many people, as I indicated not for retired people. We would not go beck there, because wee could not swim in the Ocean.

Ocean Maya Royale: very nice resort

my wife and I just spent a week at this resort, it was great. staff is very friendly and fun, food is good and rooms are very well kept. little disappointed with the seaweed on the beach but its expected this time of the year, it cleared up completely on our 4th day so that made up for it. we would definitely recommend this resort ( and have) to friends.

Iberostar Waves Paraiso Beach: Fantastic Resort

Best resort I have experienced in the 10+ years we have gone to the Cancun area. Top notch service and consistant service/entertainment. Very clean resort, pool, room, restaurants. Do not like the requirement to write at least 200 characters.
