everything at this resort was excellent I would recommend it to anybody it was very clean which is important, people and staff were very friendly the service was very good as well. we have no complaints at all it was definitely a five star location for Cuba.

Melia Las Dunas: Great potential

Grounds are gorgeous, variety of beautiful plants and blooming flowers! Rooms are spacious, mostly clean, but poor ventillation, air conditionning barely working and a very strong smell of humidity. Beds are not very comfortable and linens although clean, had holes in them. A new ventilation system and new beds & linens would work wonders! The front of the restaurant was better and the air much more breathable. Staff very courteous, friendly and wanting to please for the most part! The beaches are hard to beat, gorgeous turquoise waters and beautiful sandy beach, but could use more huts for shade. Not a pool person, so can't really rate pools except to say there were 2 big pools which looked nice. Overall good vacation with potential to be great if a few changes take place. Especially ventilation. Would recommend depending on which friend.

Royalton Cayo Santa Maria: Best resort yet

The service, hotel, beach, pool, food, drinks- everything about this resort is fantastic. There is nothing bad to say! No buffets, all the restaurants were delicious. The only drawback is the two hour bus ride from the airport.

Royalton Cayo Santa Maria: ROMANTIC,LOVELY AND PEACEFUL RESORD

We found this resort absolutely beautiful and romantic. Our room was excellent, the staff excellent and the food excellent. We are beach people so the beach went above and beyond our expectations. This was our 7th time back to Santa Maria.

Melia Cayo Santa Maria: Great Trip!

This was our third time returning to this resort, visited the first week of April 2015. We had tried another resort in the same area last year but returned to the MCSM for the atmosphere, the size of the resort (not too big) and, most importantly, the staff, who are amazing. Beautiful beach, lovely gardens and pools. We had no issues with hot water and the room was cleaned and linens changed daily. Food variety was a bit limited in the buffet but we could always find something we liked and the cooked-to-order meat and pasta stations were excellent. Morning fruit smoothies and eggs made to order at breakfast were great, croissants and fresh donuts every morning were a treat! We enjoyed the Italian and Japanese restaurants (very entertaining) and had a special dinner at the French restaurant which was very nice. BBQ at lunchtime at the beach restaurant had long lineups but the BBQ chicken and pork were worth the wait! Staff always smiling and ready to help. The beach was beautiful as always but lots of wind during the week so did not venture into the ocean until towards the end of our stay. Drink service around the pool area is great, thanks to Osbeil who is amazing. Daily activities available should you choose to join in. All in all it was a very enjoyable trip, the staff are obviously trying to make this a great place to visit. Quality control managers were visible every day ensuring things were up to par. Would return again, good value for the price.

Sol Cayo Santa Maria: Relaxing Vacation in Cuba

We were originally booked to stay at the Sol Santa Maria but on our way to the resort we were informed that we, and all other Sol guests on that bus, had been upgraded to the Melia Santa Maria (a sister property). We were never given an explanation as to why we were upgraded, but after walking over to the Sol to check it out we were very happy that we did receive the upgrade. The Sol looked like it was in need of some updating and the pool was green with algae in some areas. The Melia Santa Mar [... read more]ia was very nice and the staff were both friendly and accommodating. The property is mid-size and kept very clean, the grounds were beautiful. The food was good, on a scale of 1 to 10 I would give it a 5. The front desk staff were friendly, but there was a bit of a language gap at times.

Gran Muthu Cayo Santa Maria: One perfect Family vacay .

Our family enjoyed our stay at eurostar . The hotel is new and clean , the staff are so friendly and up beat they all want to give their 100% just to make you happy..The beach is amazing ..it was a picture perfect view. Food lots of selection , I love the fresh fruit shake that they serve. Also like going to the shows at night. Love love love our stay .,we are going back soooon.

Playa Cayo Santa Maria: Very nice resort

Spaces room, good and lots of choices on different food, clean rooms and overall common areas, excellent beach, lots of activities, sailing boat and kayaks available. Lots of tour choices like Havanna, adventure etc.

Resonance Blu Santa Maria: Starfish, Cayo Santa Maria

Amazing beach! Beautiful white sand, gorgeous water color, very breezy. Room was clean, bottled water replaced daily, and service great. Problems with in room safe but repaired fairly quickly. Not impressed with the food variety or selections, but found a little something each day to fill us. Staff - friendly for the most part. Overall experience, very good!

the room was clean, the staff are amazing, the resort is beautiful and the food was good. i had been told not to expect good food, but there was a huge variety of food, different places to eat and was not disappointed. the resort is very very clean and ALL the staff were amazing, friendly and i would go back there in a min.

Valentin Perla Blanca: A bad experience!

Poor service, no hot water at the pic hours, poor food quality, insufficient beach chairs and towels! Privillage option has made the two class treatment experience even worse! This was my worst experience in Cuba! The beach quality was the only positive thing about this hotel!

Resonance Blu Santa Maria: Great value

A good resort with friendly staff and very clean property. The only improvement needed is the buffet, the food was not hot and the service was slow. The buildings are conveniently located to all activities and the listed pathways make it easy to get around.

Melia Las Dunas: best resort in Cuba stayed at

Great selection of food specialty restaurants were great favourite was the pasta made with wine garlic and rose sauce yummy, great water sports only complaint was thistles in the sand. The beds were actually comfortable wish I brought my own pillow but than again I'm extremely picky when comes to the pillow. It was an enjoyable vacation and definitely will be going back again. I've travel to many places and this was by far the best beach I have ever seen. The staff are always ready to serve you with a smile. The food was ok but then again it's Cuba ... To be expected.. Needless we didn't starve. Your suite was very spacious and very welcoming. We arelanning to return to this resort with our children...

We were there for one week with 2 kids The kids had a good time .Animation team does a great work They had a lot of fun activities for kids and adults during the day . Food was not very good even for Cuban standards .It is not easy to book any restaurants The lady was not very pleasant To deal for booking . The service. Memories Paraiso: It’s all about the beach!

1st time to Cuba. Traveled the first week of March as a couple. The weather was perfect. Booked this destination because of the great price and the fact we could fly out of Windsor and arrive in Cuba in less than 3 hours. Read many reviews prior to going so I was not totally surprised by some of the resort deficiencies. On arrival, we easily found our bus for the 1.5 hour ride to the resort. The bus was a comfortable air conditioned coach with beer for purchase (2 for $5), but no bathroom. The  [... read more]bus stopped on the side of the causeway in the middle or nowhere when the tour rep announced, “bathroom break, ladies first.” Sorry Sun Wing, NOT acceptable to tell people to go to the bathroom next to the bus in the dark on the causeway! We arrived at the resort at 9 pm and were shown to our room (3rd floor, Bldg. 57) which was clean but had an intoxicating smell of bleach which eventually dissipated by the 2nd day. The rooms could use some updating and repairs. The beds were hard, the sheets had holes, and the bathroom was not up to our standards. There was a nice view from the balcony, the fridge was restocked daily with what we had requested, daily maid service was good and towels (very worn) were replaced when needed. We left tips and gifts for the maid and room service attendant. The food was hit and miss. Breakfast was o.k.. The made-to-order eggs were very good but the bread selection was inconsistent and the fresh fruit was awful. We usually arrive around 9:30 and found that some of the food had run out. The coffee at the main lobby coffee bar was very good.. For lunch we ate at the poolside or beach side grills. My husband did not mind the burgers but I couldn't eat them. For dinner, we only ate at the restaurants -- the Italian Gourmet (the chicken was excellent), the Asian, the Mediterranean (the grilled white fish was very good) and the San Salvador (Diamond Club dinner which served lobster tails). All were fairly good with a few exceptions. I would recommend not ordering pork or beef as we found them tough and dry. My husband got sick on our last day and I got sick one hour after we got home. We think It was the food. Their food handling methods were questionable. We didn’t spend much time at the pools because we preferred the beach. The washrooms at the Azul pool were filthy. Also be prepared for lots of smokers—especially IN the pools. We preferred the pool on the Paraiso side -- nicer and more peaceful. The service in the lounge and lobby was inconsistent. Some nights the servers were friendly and attentive, others nights they were nowhere in sight. Also found they would run out of things…mint, soda water and other popular drink ingredients. The public bathrooms at the lobby were awful -- no toilet paper or soap, missing toilet seats, and dirty toilet water seeping on the floor. We spent most of the daylight hours at the beach which was absolutely stunning. By far the best thing about this resort. 11 km of beautiful fine white sand and the bluest water. The beach attendant in the Diamond Club area always found us a nice spot with shade. The wait service was generally good. Bring an insulated drink holder -- the servers will fill it up with whatever you like. The resort is very spread out so be prepared to walk. Most of the Cuban resort staff were friendly and tried their best to please. We spent about $120 during the week on tips. Overall we had a fun time (mainly because of the beach and weather) and met some great people. I might go back to Santa Maria, but I won't go back to this resort. I prefer a smaller resort with less people. I think the sheer size and number of guests at this resort is the reason for most of the deficiencies -- too difficult to maintain the facility and supply the staff and food needed. The resort standards were on par with the amount of money we paid. The beach and service were above average, the resort and amenities were below.

Gran Muthu Cayo Santa Maria: Amazing Beach

Very clean resort with excellent and courteous staff. The beach is a main attraction here, but the pools are also excellent. We had a great time here in March and a very positive experience for our first visit to Cuba.
