Ocean El Faro: Polishing Needed

This Resort needs lots of polishing. Staff needs proper training. Bell Boys we found out don't get tips, with good reason as they do little to help guests. We had to unload our bags, ask for someone to help to get them to our room and waited quite a while for someone to finally take us to our room. Doors to patio wouldn't lock, we were on the ground floor. Lock was installed upside down once someone finally came to fix it after numerous requests. Wasn't able to get into a restaurant that didn't require a reservation, tables inside were empty and we were told they were full. Not impressed. Food in Italian restaurant didn't have any pasta, they told us it wasn't available, we had to settle for fish and steak. Steak restaurant delivered our dinners not as we ordered, and plastic wrap was in my husbands neal. We complained to guest services. Thankfully Ivin took care of the situation. Food wasn't all that great. Lobby bar had the best staff and was a pleasure to go there in the evening. When checking out we had to bring our own luggage without any Bell Boys help. The pools were beautiful, lazy river lots of fun. Beach was very small, rocky and sand very hard. Next time we will go to a resort that has been around for a while, this resort only opened in December, needs lots of polishing. H10 staff was soliciting daily until you told them that you had the sermon they wanted you to attend for 20 minutes. It was annoying. Not impressed. Rooms were beautiful.

Dreams Royal Beach Punta Cana: Beautiful Resort

The resort was beautiful as well as the rooms. The beach was beautiful also. Most of the staff were very friendly. The entertainment was poor because it was geared more for the children then for the adults. We didn't like having the kids mixed in with all the adults. There should have been an adult side and a kid side to this resort. The only restaurant that was very good was the Blue Grill. The buffet and other restaurants were lacking better quality food. We found that management were al [... read more]ways trying to upsell the other resorts they own. The $200.00 dollar resort credit is a joke. In order to use the resort credit, you could only use a certain amount of credit for a service and then you had to pay the rest. The prices for the spa were outrageously high. Even though the resort and beach is beautiful, we would not go back there mainly because of the poor management of the resort and for the fact that this resort is not geared to the adults.

Royalton CHIC Punta Cana: CHIC Punta Cana

Room type: swim-out, Diamond Club Pros: amazing service, very clean room and very well kept hotel, food is above average for Dominican Republic, fantastic entertainment, very friendly staff, good restaurants and especially loved the coffee shop with an amazing range of coffees and probably the biggest and nicest spa I have seen in DR (been there 7 times) Cons: a bit noisy if your prefer a more relaxed and quiet vacation, ocean is a bit rough, hotel is a bit isolated however is not a con if aga [... read more]in you prefer quiet Overall we had an amazing time and our butler (Thomas) was always available with a nice approach without being overbearing. The Royalton is a great hotel chain and I would return to any of their hotels in a heartbeat. Loved it!

Hard Rock Hotel and Casino Punta Cana: Great time at Hard Rock Punta Cana

We visited the H are Rock Punta Cana during March Break, we had a great time, gorgeous beach, great service and food. Place is huge and has lots to offer. Only downside was that it was US spring break but we kept our distance from the drunken teens. It would be exceptional during another time!

Breathless Punta Cana Resort: Decent Resort

Overall, the resort was very clean and beach maintained very well. Only two restaurants were good for dinner. Recommend French and the Asian. Others were not that great. Entertainment was pretty good as well

Occidental Caribe: Nice resort, wrong week

We went during March break, which was unfortunately the same week as spring break for college students. Our hotel was overrun by them. The noise and partying was ridiculous - we were kept up until 5:00 am the first night and every night of our stay was noisy! Didn't get a good night sleep the whole time due to our neighbours and the resort having loud music outside as well. Our room overlooked the pool - not a great spot. The main pool was really nice, but we never got to use it because it  [... read more]was always full of students who were drunk and partying. This resort had the most beautiful beach. We loved the beach and never had to worry about finding chairs each day. The rooms were dated, but okay considering you only slept there. The food was nothing spectacular, but to be expected. Overall would probably go back to this resort, but stay in the upgraded section and definitely not during March break.

Occidental Punta Cana: Beautiful Beach - Not 4.5 star service

Few key points regarding our visit: -Very busy resort but all to be expected for spring break/march break trip -Staff (concierge and his manager) were very pushy for 2 days straight regarding sale of timeshare (We were pushed to meet a representative for a 1.5 hour meeting in order to obtain a 50$ voucher for the gift shop. We were then reminded to help out the staff *our concierge* as he gets commission when we sit for the meeting. We were then advise to lie to the timeshare representative a [... read more]bout how long we have been dating as according to the laws of their country we needed to be together 3 years or live together in order to obtain the voucher for the gift shop. When I left the meeting point to go gather our passport, the manager of our concierge continued to speak with my bf and showed him pictures of himself when he used to work out as my bf is into fitness and scrolled through his library only to show him pictures of naked women he had on his phone. I felt that was very inappropriate. We finally advised them that we had not come on vacation to meet for sales meeting for half a day so advised we would not need their assistance. This unfortunately left a bad taste in our mouth regarding the staff) -The main buffet restaurant was a bit chaotic (We would have people come sit beside us to enjoy a meal, only to leave the table for a minute and return to have their plates and drinks removed from the tables in order to make room for next guests. Unless one person stayed at the table, your food and drinks were taken away. It was already bad enough that it took sometimes up to 15 minutes to get an omelette in the morning and worse that we both had to wait 15 minutes separately as we couldn't leave the table) -Beverage selection was not a 4.5 star (We started approaching the bars with requests for margaritas only to be told that they did not have tequila on hand. We then would order mojitos and were told they were only available in the lobby bar - which they then advised they couldn't make them there either. We aren't big on sugar drinks but ended up drinking mostly vodka lemonade for most of the trip. Not too sure if this was an issue due to the busy time or just simply the resort not being able to offer as much selection.) -The beach was beautiful and weather was perfect which helped make our visit pleasant. -Housekeeping wouldn't come clean our room until 4pm some days and it ran into the timeframe we had to get ready for our dinner. This was a bit of an inconvenience. This was our first all inclusive vacation together in 2.5 years and we expected a bit more but overall it was nice to get away to the sunshine. Only reason we would recommend the reason was for the beach, the weather and the updated rooms. Thank you

Hard Rock Hotel and Casino Punta Cana: Resort that strives and mostly delivers first class treatment.

Grounds are huge, could not make it to Isle restaurant from where I was staying. Really have to plan ahead. Should make sure first day if Jacuzzi works properly. Make sure that room key is on you at all time.

Caribe Deluxe Princess: Great trip

Great people beautiful beach above average food clean room but dated decor. Overall great trip I would recommend to families and friends. Nice wildlife birds lizards. Internet very slow. Staff very friendly.

Iberostar Selection Bavaro Suites: Relaxing Time

I thought the resort was okay. The service staff was amazing and they work really hard. It was a smaller resort versus others that I stayed at which was really nice. You could get a beach hut at anytime so no early morning wake ups to get a hit! :-). Disappointed that the golf package wasn’t included as advertised, played anyway and the course was outstanding. It was also nice that drinks were included on the course as it was owned by the resort. The buffet was just fair at best (no variety,  [... read more]the same for lunch and dinner) The specialty restaurants were the biggest disappointment except the Japanese restaurant.

Bahia Principe Explore Esmeralda: Esmeralda review

We had a few bumps with our room upon arrival. We were first given a room that was occupied and then given a room with only one bed. This situation was rectified and we were put in a room with 2 beds as was booked. When we lost one of our rooms keys it was a hassle to get a new one. Otherwise it was beautiful and lots of fun and activities to explore around the resort.

Grand Memories Punta Cana: Great week away

We had a blast. A great family resort for young kids. 1- Bit of a hike from the beach but carts run every 20 minutes. 2- Food was great 3- Staff very friendly and safe, lots to do 4- Tuck shop $$$$$

Royalton Splash Punta Cana: Fantastic resort.

My family & I had a most enjoyable vacation at this resort. The grounds were well cared for with lots of Palm & coconut trees & not forgetting the tropical flowers. We were impressed with the service as the the staff were very friendly & helpful. Everywhere was kept clean and tidy at all times. We gave the food. 3 star but upgraded to have have all our meals at the Rouyalton restaurant which did not disappoint us. Would definitely consider returning to this resort again.

Barcelo Bavaro Beach: Awesome resort

Great resort! From the time we checked in when they accomodated our request that our daughter's room be close to ours. Great food and terrific service especially at La Brisa restaurant where Labrida and Juan Kelly were amazing! Of course there always could be improvements such as; - perhaps a snack bar, grill or something similar between restaurant openings. - Hoyo 19 restaurant service, food and dining hours took a significant down turn from our last visit 2 years ago. Ocean Blue and Sand: Nice Vacation

We had a wonderful tune at the resort. It was a very nice atmosphere. The entertainment staff worked hard to make it fun for all. It was a relatively small property compared to some but large enough to have all the ameneties. I did not like getting up in the morning to reserve chairs by the pool, but I think that is relatively common if it matters to you. All in all we were happy we came.

Royalton Bavaro Resort and Spa: Great resort!

The resort is new and very clean. The beds and pillows are so comfy. Good food.I have sensitivities and there were a lot of options. Pool side was fun with events, entertainment, lazy river. I really liked the gym- also Elanny makes poolside exercising so entertaining. Spa was great. Evening entertainment shows, casino. Not a lot for teens. More of a family resort. I was there with my 2 teens and they were not bored.

Iberostar Waves Punta Cana: Amazing Resort

The grounds, pool and common areas were very clean. The staff were extremely friendly and accomodating. Everything was within walking distance to your hotel rooms. I.e. The pools, buffet and the beach were all close together without feeling cramped.

Tropical Deluxe Princess: amazing beach, resort is mediocre

Stayed at the Tropical Princess and you get what you pay for. Property and grounds are very nice, the beach is exceptional, soft beige sand for miles in either direction from resort. This is defiantly a two tier resort, Tropical princess desperately needs some upgrades and maintenance, Caribe Club Princess definitely gets more attention to higher attributes but I am sure the pricing reflects this. Food in the general buffet is a 6 out of 10 unless you eat in the A la cart Restaurants of which  [... read more]you only get access to 2 when you stay at the Tropical but 5 if you stay at the Caribe Club. Would not recommend the Tropical Princess side of the resort but may recommend the Caribe Club side.

Paradisus Punta Cana: Great All Inclusive Resort in Punta Cana

This was an excellent all inclusive resort, with amazing grounds, beach, and restaurants. The food was better than any other all inclusive resort we have been to. I was especially impressed with the VIP Royal Service "lapalapa restaurant". The drinks were good too! I really liked the friendly staff as everyone was well trained and very friendly, going above and beyond the call of duty. The lady that was on site the week of the 14th in charge of the fitness was also excellent by conducting Tabata fitness session on the beach. Thanks Paradisus for a great holiday

Grand Bavaro Princess: Perfect holiday

Beautiful resort. The grounds were well taken care of on a daily basis. The staff was fantastic. Our 4th time at this resort. We brought my sister for her 1st all inclusive and she was very impressed! The only item is that the rooms are a bit dated, other than that we could not have asked for a more relaxed and pampered holiday!
