Bahia Principe Escape Ambar: Resort was ok but

I have been in this resort more than 10 times and this time I wasn’t very happy about the resort. Food selection was down grade from previous years. Rooms were done just enough to sleep. Drinks very scarce not many drinks available and not many people serving. Taking too long to bring drinks to table. Nobody at the beach to get a drink. Night shows very poor. Not enough action around the resort.

Bahia Principe Explore Punta Cana: Great resort!

We upgraded to the Bahia Principe Esmeralda resort & the staff handled the upgrade quickly & efficiently. The a la carte restaurants were awesome for the most part. Some extra training for staff at the Mediterrenean restaurant would go a long way to alleviating the poor service there. All the other restaurants were great. Vista Sol Punta Cana: Great place to relax in the sun

This was my 4th time at the Vista Sol, Punta Cana and once again we had a great time, with the exception of our Ocean view room. The first room, the air conditioner did not work, shower head was broken and the Ocean view I paid for was not an Ocean view, rather a view of Palm leaves with a brief look at the ocean depending on which way the wind blew, although a nice view not an Ocean View. Every time we went out on the balcony, workers from the resort next door would yell at us. After multiple times back and forth to the front desk, I was told to come back at 1pm the next day, which I did and we were moved to an Ocean view room, where the air conditioner worked well. After the room issue was worked out, the remainder of the week was great.

Melia Caribe Beach Resort: beautiful resort

Had a wonderful vacation at Melia Caribe Beach resort, grounds are beautiful, rooms are nice and very clean and of course the beach is second to none, if anything was a let down it was the food at the buffet, we prefer not to book the other eateries because we do not like to be locked in to a specific time to eat, the first few days the buffet was served in chafing warmers, was a little shocked no grill for breakfast or dinner but then after 3 days voila the grill was there and pasta offered at  [... read more]dinner so that was good, all in all out of 10 it was a high 9, great place for kids really enjoyed watching the little ones play and be sweet.

Vista Sol Punta Cana: 4th time here !!

As always, everyone here tries so hard to make your stay comfortable. It is obvious that Covid has hit the island with shortages but we still had a fabulous vacation. It took a couple tries to get a good room where everything was working but once we got settled in, we had a blast. Japanese, Italian and Mexican restaurants did a marvellous job. JOIA Bavaro by Iberostar: Incredible Resort

First of all, Victoria Guest did a great job on our booking to this resort. Resort is amazing, truly 5 star. Rooms, layout, pools, beach, all great. Restaurants are overall good but the need for reservations is a pain. Italian restaurant needs better Italian food; lasagna and spaghetti are not good. My wife hated the fact there is a woman employee always looming in the washrooms. The need for a butler is questionable but he was nice. Beyond that, the place is spectacular.

Grand Sirenis Punta Cana Resort: Fabulous Vacation

I can't say enough good things about this resort. The grounds are breathtaking. Food was amazing. The rooms are very clean and updated. The cleaners did a great job cleaning everyday. The servers and bar tenders did a great job getting to everyone even when the bar was super busy. I pools were warm, maybe even too warm but we spent most of our time at the beach swimming in the ocean. This resort lived up to everyone of my expectations. I would 100% vacation here again. Sunscape Coco Punta Cana: Exception Grounds

Overall we were really pleased with our stay at Be Live after bit of rocky start. We arrived at 11AM and had to wait until 3 for room which was expected. They gave a towel cards and bracelets so we could swim and eat which was awesome. Our room was in an awesome location ground floor next to one of many pools but probably due to covid had been closed up for a while and had a real musty moldy smell. We were hesitant to change it due to perfect location so stayed 1 night but it was too much. They  [... read more]were very good about changing though we had to wait until 4pm when new comers were all checked in..they up graded us to a junior suite which was absolutely awesome..the grounds are like nothing we have ever seen..so clean and manicured..pools were all really well maintained. The beach was beautiful but you had to be there early to put a towel on your chair or u were out of luck. We kept our same spot all week. Reception desk staff seemed over worked but all other staff out of their way to be friendly. I think our biggest surprise was the food..my wife is a fussy eater so I was a bit concerned but she just loved the Windows Buffet with all the many choices..she was trying everything. A la cartes ..the Milos Méditerranée was really great..went there twice..japanese and Mexican were also great. Steak house bit if a disappointment. We only did 1 4 hr excursion for snorkling on the happy fish..Really professional group. Booked through Viatir on line but u can book through hotel vendors and there are lots and lots of vendors everywhere. All in all this was an unbelievable adventure and we would return. Just heads up..they will do everything possible to rope you into a hotel time share seminar..we had been through it before so they gave up on us after 10 a bit but our neighbors were stuck for 3 hours though they told you up front 60min.

Riu Palace Punta Cana: Amazing Resort

This resort exceeded our expectations. Although large, the layout is well thought out and all the restaurants, stages and live music were in the same area which made it more social. The beach was wide with ample chairs and numerous palm trees for shade. We’ve been to a lot of beaches and this was the best! The water is a bit rough along this stretch but still turquoise and easy to swim in with no coral. They cleaned up the seaweed every morning. Would have liked to have more music and dancing at night and not so much ‘dead’ time after dinner when people are waiting for live music or even a DJ. Would definitely go back again.

Whala Bayahibe: Total relaxation!!

Beautiful views.Huge spacious rooms.Air worked great,very clean,king bed, comfy but pillows a bit lumpy.All staff very friendly even if they didn't speak English.Pool clean. Hard working staff.Buffet a bit small and lacking variety but still didn't starve.Had a few problems with drinks because of lack of language understanding. Daily entertainment was almost nil.Only a couple of evening shows .The rest was a dj playing music.I give entertainment a 2 out of 10. No Sunwing rep available at hotel.

Playabachata Hotel: Ash at Trip central could not have been more accommodating..did everything and more for me ..the choice I MADE! I regret!

As a tourist..we are pushed aside at meal times for locals..arriving ships at Port.... It seemed like they had our money... now .....screw you!.. I watched people ignore us in lineups...and watched the staff serve them as if we didn't exist... I heard this always from tourists I finally lost it with a local woman who pushed herself in front of all of us.. at dinner time....spoilt my vacation..happened everyday!!!! Dreams Royal Beach Punta Cana: A top resort!

The design of the resort was amazing and easy to navigate through. The preferred option was very good which included a separate beach area. Restaurants were very good and people were friendly. Only one restaurant, in my opinion needed some improvement in the food and service but overall a great experience. Will definitely go back in the future.

Majestic Mirage Punta Cana All Suite Resort: Noisy and Disappointed

More of a family and very young noisy guests.Not a relaxing holiday food repetitive and cold.Drinks below average. High expectations but enjoyed Majestic Elegance resort better 12 years ago . Would not go back

Cofresi Palm Beach and Spa Resort: Ugh!

We have been here before so we knew what to expect in terms of the size of the resort, the large amount of stairs, the hustle and bustle of golf carts, motorbikes and buses and the run down rooms. However we were very disappointed with our visit this time. We booked for 14 days and half way through we were wishing it was time to leave. He is such an amazing person even though we had a language barrier. The Pearl buffet offered a good variety of food. It did get a little repetitive after 14 days, but that’s to be expected haha. The staff serve you at the buffet and all self serve items like bread, buns, cheese are all Saran wrapped in individual servings. We also enjoyed the hamburger and fries down at the beach. I did get sick for 2 days and I’m assuming it was from the extremely undercooked bacon I had one morning. I only ate part of a slice because it was horrible - but was down for 2 days vomiting etc. The resort gets over run with locals from Friday - Sunday….and I mean over run. It gets to be quite overwhelming as some of them act like they are more entitled to be there than you, they are rude and will cut in line. We definitely enjoyed Monday - Thursday much more. Don’t even bother going to the casino unless you are VIP. They claim everyone is welcome, but that’s definitely not how you are treated when you walk in. We tried to get a drink and the bartender ignored us for about 5 mins while actively serving the other 3-4 people. Then when we finally got served you could see how irritated he was just serving us. I guess we weren’t high enjoy up the totem pole to warrant decent customer service. We stayed about 30 mins, left and never went back. We walked over to the Tropical one day just to check it out and look around. We tried to get down to the beach so we could walk back to Cofresi side but weren’t allowed access because you had to be VIP to access the beach. Like seriously, we just wanted to walk through to the beach. We weren’t trying to use the VIP area, bars or restaurants…just simply walk down the path to the water. Ridiculous! We literally had to struggle daily to get an adequate amount of drinking water!! Housekeeping would leave 2-3 500ml bottles and if we asked we sometimes got 1 extra. You could only get plastic cups of water at the bars/restaurants. We ended up saving our empty bottles and going down to the pool bar each day to fill them up. Getting sugar and cream so you could have a coffee in the room was also like pulling teeth. Some waitresses would give you sugar packs if you asked and we saw other people order a glass of milk and then pour into water bottle. Great idea but we didn’t notice that until near the end of our stay. If you want any snacks (chips, pop, chocolate) or need any items like Tylenol, tampons, cigarettes, beer ect we highly recommend walking 5 mins off the resort to the local store as you will pay WAYYY less than if you buy anything at the duty free shop that is grossly overpriced!! To get to the store, walk down the beach towards Ocean World, you will be able to tell when you are off resort as it gets pretty dirty with garbage ect. You will see a grassy open park like area - the store is directly across the road. Well worth the short walk for sure. My husband bough cigarettes at the duty free and paid $10 a pack, same pack at the local store was $5. Speaking of the duty free - when we were in there the lady working was visibly sick. She was coughing, sneezing, runny nose the whole works. She had a face cloth in the hand that she used to wipe her nose and never once put it down while serving us. Never sanitized her hands nor was she wearing a mask. Pretty disturbing while we still have covid lurking around. I understand that she may not be able to miss work but there were 2 other staff just hanging around leaning on the counter that could have served customers so she could be more behind the scenes. If you are looking for drugs or prostitutes just go to the front of the resort as they all hang out just off the resort property. My husband was literally approached by a prostitute 5 mins after we arrived while we were checking in. Not the best way to make people feel welcome lol. Overall, we were happy to finally travel after 2 years. We enjoyed to beautiful weather and relaxation, but we would not go back to this resort again. There was just too many negative points that we can’t overlook.

Lopesan Costa Bavaro Resort: Beautiful resort

The resort is quite large. Found the boulevard area far enough walk. Was disappointed that the casino did not have any slots - only had 2 card tables. Although the resort website states casino. The beach - pools - food were all great! Front desk employees and most restaurant servers were very pleasant.

Impressive Premium Punta Cana: Amazing resort!

This resort was amazing! The people, the food ! Covid protocol was fantastic! This resort was so clean ! I have already recommended this resort to friends and 2 have booked already! There is really nothing I can complain about, the check in went great, got to our rooms quickly which were amazing! This is a fantastic resort and I would recommend it to anyone who asks! Definitely would return!

Ocean Blue and Sand: Big, but a nice relaxing resort.

The grounds, pools, restaurants, rooms, buffets, were all good. The people were fantastic. They bend over to please you. I was told not to, but still did the H-10 sell to buy on to travel the world with their resorts. You are family till you refuse and say no- thanks to the offer. Don't waste your time with that. You would have to spend over 25 years travelling with them and MAYBE work out in your favour. Sorry, back to the resort. We choose the privilege package and was very happy we did. [... read more] You end up in a room by the ocean. Poolside view is better. Pick it when you book! The upgraded drink package was worth every penny if this is important to you! It is a big resort, so you can walk to the restaurants or wait for the rides that circle and pick you up. Sometimes a bit of a wait for them. Finally, a big shout out to Mike our butler. He was great to look after whatever we wanted.

El Beso Adults Only at Ocean El Faro: Beautiful resort

This resort is spotless. Rooms are huge. The grounds and the pools are immaculate. Unfortunately there was little shade around the pools. The food was a little disappointing. It became rather repetitive after a week and was barely lukewarm.

JOIA Bavaro by Iberostar: Wonderful Stay

We stayed at the Iberostar Grand Bavaro from March 30th to April 6. The hotel is beautiful as are the grounds. The rooms are well appointed and house keeping was amazing. Our butler’s were always helpful and friendly. The food was good except for the Italian restaurant that was bad the others were good. The ocean and beach simply the best I guess the only wish for us would be less fish at the buffet and open up on other item. We would return for sure.

Cofresi Palm Beach and Spa Resort: Great value!

Interesting place. It's giant resort. Like 4 different ones that you can access. The time share game is real here. They'll find you walking around and tell you they forgot to give your welcome package (it's to sell you a timeshare) just tell them you already got it. At the buffets, the cooks serve you, still in COVID mode I guess....oh and golf carts... Golf carts everywhere lol.
