Memories Flamenco Beach Resort: Very nice resort

Very good service, pool and beach. Food was fair. Rooms were nice. The kids shows were enjoyed by the little ones. Very quick trip from the airport. We enjoyed the excursions and had excellent weather.

Memories Flamenco Beach Resort: Great place to be

I wish I was there right now. Beautiful surroundings, pleasant and helpful staff, great service on the beach front, lots of planned activities and wonderful shows each night by very skillful dancers. Like I said, I wish I was there now.

Memories Caribe Beach Resort: Run down, not deep down clean

Beach was great, everything else very run down. Room run down, lock broke. Food ok. Air conditioning in bar good. The beds were very hard, lamp shades dirty, curtains ripped, poor paint job in the room.

Muthu Colonial Hotel: Great Staff Great Hotel

ExaWe stayed at the Colonial from May 5th to the 12th. We enjoyed everything about the place! It was low season and a lot of things were shut down, but that suited us just fine as we are not fans of big crowds and line ups. The staff at this resort were the best we have ever come across. The piano bar was a great place to relax with a great bartender. We spent most of our time at the beach and ate lunch at the beach bar every day. Great fish and chips! The Beach Bar staff were great especially the always smiling, ever patient Laudia! The Gentleman who looked after the beach was very friendly and helpful. The saltwater pool (and bar ) were clean and relaxing. We defiantly would return to this resort! Two thumbs up!

Hotel Playa Paraiso: Relaxing, Enjoyable, Fun Vacation

We were 3 adults on vacation at the Pestana, Caya Coco from May12 - May 19, 2016 and despite El Nino's negative effect on weather in the south all winter, our week was fabulous! The beach was gorgeous, the water amazing and there were plenty of chairs although guests from other hotels were also enjoying our facilities. Randy drove us to our block and RAN up the stairs carrying our suitcases and showed us how to adjust A/C and operate the safe. Despite the late hour we tried the buffet but the selections were tired so we went to the snack bar (a 24 hour operation) where the waitress seemed less than enthused and my first 2 choices from the menu were not available. Hmmm Early morning espresso in the bar from Dani before Breakie became our habit since the buffet coffee was not good. The words cricket piddle come to mind. Dani is a lovely young woman with a ready smile and remembered us and our order over the week. Breakfast is a winner! There is a great selection including made to order eggs and the morning staff like Pedro, Alberto, Juliet and Yuilen are very friendly, helpful and attentive. Lunch was usually either the Ranchero near the beach where Floyd entertained us with his sense of humour or back to the snackbar where the service was slow even if we were the only customers on site. Supper at the buffet boasted a large selection but often tough meat (I would recommend slow cooking to tenderize even the toughest cuts). We all ate and enjoyed the dining experience but it seemed hit and miss. Tuesday and Wednesday were great though. Our waitress, Saily, was brilliant in establishing rapport and we grew very fond of each other. We think she may have influenced the snack bar staff because our last meal there prior to heading to the airport was a far more pleasant experience than during the week. Juan Carlos, given that the buffet is air-conditioned and we enjoyed eating and sipping our wine in that environment, may we suggest that you have your staff keep the doors CLOSED until a guest arrives then let them in and close it again. Leaving them wide open detracted from the comfort of the buffet area and no doubt hurt your electricity bill. Yuan, at the bar, has a memory like a steel trap for drink orders over the week and works very hard at providing a fast, friendly service despite the lack of AC in his workplace. Mandy is a good natured gent who adds a fun vibe to the bar. It must be said that the entertainment teams are athletes who give their performances 100% regardless of audience size or how hot they are under the lights in a non AC venue. The sax payer and salsa lessons were great additions. Kudos to Pestana for having nightly entertainment both in the lobby and on stage later. Our rooms were in block 10 on the third floor and our chambermaid for 5 of the 7 days was Neivis, who did a good job for all of us. She was shy but sweet and sadly, our Spanish is limited so we couldn't communicate more. Juan Carlos, if you could allocate funds from your operating budget to purchase new pillows to replace the existing flat, uncomfortable ones currently in use; it would have given the room full points. Of the 3 on site restaurants we attended the Portuguese. The ambiance, replete with musicians, is lovely and the menu extensive. Juan Carlos, we would suggest you re-examine the English translations to ensure they accurately reflect the meal. e.g. An exquisite mix of seafood" doesn't bring to mind the seafood and bean "soup" with a side of rice that followed. Despite that little deception however, Yusnaigi was concerned and insisted on bringing something more in keeping with expectations. She was very kind. The pool was marvellous and boasted daily entertainment. Checkout with Jessica was a breeze and she gladly answered all our queries. Regarding excursions it would be best to purchase them on the plane where one pays 1.22 per USD instead of the 1.45 in Cuba. Playa Pilar is a must see. We also partook of Juni's catamaran snorkelling trip and had great fun. We enjoyed our vacation at the Pestana which is generally a well run operation with a young, energetic team. We would return next year hoping the issues we've flagged would have been addressed.

Iberostar Origin Daiquiri: Cozy family oriented resort

3rd time to this resort. Love the beach,the grounds, the sacr that everything is close. The renovations are great and love the lively paint colours of the buildings! Staff are very friendly and accommodating. The food which normally is good, really wasn't good this time. The AC in the room wasn't good either. It was unseasonably hot. I love the resort because it's familiar but I'm not sure it will be on my list of places to go next time.

Melia Jardines del Rey: Good resort and beach

Rooms are clean and nice. Shower is a little claustrophobic but the water was running fine. The grounds are lacking plants. The lobby is very nice. The food was ok but not 5 stars. The personnel was very nice. The beach is rocky but with water shoes is fine. The water was amazing!

All the staff were wonderful. The beach and pool areas were great. Lots of available lounges. The food...was the best I've had in Cuba. So many choices and very tasty. The room was clean and very comfortable

Melia Jardines del Rey: Amazing resort for celebration

It was a big surprize. went through on customer reviews and prepared for negatives. Emailed our requests and received response almost immediately. MJDR was the third on our list originally but luckily we made this decision. Extremely friendly staff, wide varieties of good food, gorgeous rooms especially with ocean view on top floor. No issues at all but bring water sues, mosquito spray and a small flashlight. Thanks for everything!

The hotel is dated but clean and staff very friendly they helped us with information regarding things to do and where to eat off the resort We will return had a awesome time and the weather was amazing

Melia Jardines del Rey: Pretty good

This hotel was good.We enjoyed our stay. The staff were good always willing to help you.Pool areas were lovely .The food was pretty good for Cuba. How ever make sure you lock up ALL valuables we had a bottle of perfume that went missing,so that was upsetting.And bug repellant is a must. Even though we had it we still got hundreds of bites. They need to do something about the bugs ,spray at dusk or something.We noticed that they strayed in the early morning about 6am but the main problem was even [... read more]ings. The entertainment was Great!!!! every night there was something new going on.Just we couldn't stay out to late due to the bites.

Muthu Colonial Hotel: The beach is the best part

Gorgeous beach and water made me want to cry on first look it's so beautiful. Resort is quite nice in general, but certain staff members can be a bit off-putting, others are very nice. Food was really dull, for example, the meats always had tendons and chewy fatty bits, and the chicken sometimes was sketchy tasting. Bar tending staff at the pool was fair, serving people in order. Also took a bus ride to another beach, also wouldn't recommend as it ate 4 hours just being on a bus ride in the heat, not worth it. I probably wouldn't go here again because of the food, I'll look for something in Jamaica as people tell me the food there is excellent, although the cost is higher, i think it would be worth it. Also, my room was ok, but the toilet seat was broken, and the toilet roll was so close to the seat that it made it hard to sit down.

Hotel Camino del Mar: Great Getaway

Loved the resort and the beach was amazing. The only real negatives were the rooms could use some updating but everything worked great and most of the staff were great and very accommodating and helpful.

Iberostar Origin Daiquiri: nice resort

the resort is small and nice.Th e food was good and the drinks. staff very nice. Rooms were nice and very clean . pool was good. The beach is awesome. overall is a great resort. we will return we liked because of the size not too big and the staff were awesome

Hotel Playa Paraiso: Wonderful "soul-o" vacation

Great hotel that truly exceeded my expectations. Even though i travelled low season (april 30- may 14, 2016) i never felt that i was missing out. Great service, never felt it necessary to tip. Would not hesitate to return in the futur.

Memories Flamenco Beach Resort: Great vacation, great resort!!!!

We travelled with 4 adults and 4 kids ages 13, 9, 6 and 4. Memories Flamenco is a great resort not very large, very clean, polite staff, awesome food for Cuba (shrimp calamari poutine salmon) 2 large pools plus a kids pool. Amazing cappucinos and iced cappuccino in the lobby. Rooms always cleaned and stocked with towels, pop, beer and water. Beach has a gorgeous view but is a little rocky water shoes highly recommended but there are sandy areas to walk in and out of the ocean. Lots of mosquitos  [... read more]at night so bring bug replant. Market with local vendors is a short 5-10 minute walk out of the resort. Great interaction with the kids by the entertainers especially Yuni and Diane. All and all great resort I would highly recommend it.

Starfish Cayo Guillermo: Good resort

If you're looking for a small, cozy resort then this would be a good place to visit. Grounds and rooms could use some love as they are showing there age however the staff was very friendly. If you are a person who would rather sit on the beach rather than by the pool then this might not be the resort for you as with the tide change, there were numerous hours where the beach was no existent. I was surprised to have some of the staff at the resort attempting to sell items right beside our bungalow [... read more] as well as while on the beach. However, because of the size of the resort it did provide a very cozy feel and allowed for great interactions with other guests.

Tryp Cayo Coco: Pro: Beach, Staff, Activities! Cons: Rooms

If you want to have a great beach vacation, go here. If you want to sleep in your room, go somewhere else. Great atmosphere, non stuffy, good food, great dancing! Fave out of 3 other hotels (colonial, flamenco, pestana) in Cayo Coco!

Memories Flamenco Beach Resort: Disappointing Resort

We travel often and have been to Cuba several times. We were 6 people on this trip in April 2016. Moldy bread, food re processed day after day, each day some of the food on the menu not available or partially available, dining closed at 10 pm but food limited at 8:30 pm and not being replenished. 1 beach towel exchange in 10 days, telephone in 2 out of 3 rooms not working, broken bed frame not usable for 2 days, barely any lights at night to see where we were going, pool not cleaned regularly wi [... read more]th slimy bottom, maid service and rooms great and clean rooms. We paid for a 4.5 star and got a much lower quality overall. I would say this hotel is cutting costs to the bone and the customer can really feel it. Beware of up charge for pool view, you might get the kiddy pool. I recommend sunwing re re-valuate this hotel's rating.

the people were quite enjoyable,the grounds were well maintained,clean and the place was fun fun fun.not like the stuffy resorts ive been to in the past.ive been here 4 times and have recommended this resort since the first time ive been here.
