I love the coffee shop it was amazing all of us loved it . Buffet was great, amix of Mexican food as well as international.
The most amazing thing was the service. Every single staff member was amazing.
I had a junior suite , it was great however at night I could hear everything from the outside so I did not like that too much.
Also, the entertainment team will only play music in English which I was okay with but I would’ve love to have more Latin music sin I was in Mexico.
The locatio[... read more]n of the hotel is good, is right on 5th avenue, so you can walk at night or anytime.

Riu Palace Baja California: 4 star resort, 2 star food
The hotel was nice but nothing spectacular. The room was large and well appointed, the pool areas were also nice but pretty basic. Nice that there were 2 full size pools and 2 swim up bar pools as it's a fairly large hotel. We managed to find loungers each day but if the hotel was full I bet it would be a lot harder after mid morning. The staff were good in general with only a few that seemed to just be going through the motions. For the amount of money this resort charges I was greatly disappoi[... read more]nted with the food offerings. The buffet was random for sure and it was rare to get anything fresh that hadn't been sitting under a heat lamp for too long. The specialty restaurants were first come first served which is fine if they have enough seating but even with the hotel at maybe half capacity there was an hour wait for most if you got there any time after 7pm. The Japanese restaurant and the Steak house were the only 2 we visited. The gyoza was mushy, the sushi was unidentifiable and the Yakisoba was dry and tasteless. Huge letdown for someone from Vancouver where there are more good sushi restaurants than starbucks. The steak house was also underwhelming, Both of our steaks were served under and had to be sent back. At least they weren't over and needed to be thrown out. Under seasoned and lack of creativity with sides. All in all I would not recommend or repeat as we could have had an equal or better experience for half the price in a less expensive resort town than Cabo. Cabo is pretty and I would go there again if I found a less expensive vacation rental but we'll be heading further south again next time for more bang for our buck.

El Cozumeleno Beach: Absolutely loved it.
I’m going to start with the negatives however the positive far outweigh anything negative. The resort is getting old, the stairways have broken concrete and are in need of paint and repair, the rooms are very clean but the AC is very old and ours broke while we were there. It needs some money put into it to bring it back up to par. That said, the staff are absolutely amazing. The pool and eating area are right beside the ocean. The water is so clear and aqua, we loved snorkelling in the pristi[... read more]ne waters. There is a brake that prevents seaweed and harsh waves from coming into the resort area. The kids activities could have been better and there wasn’t any entertainment when we were there however far from a dealbreaker for us. We travelled with our 3 girls aged 8, 13 and 14 and it was a most memorable trip that we would be happy to do again. Cozumel is pretty safe as far as Mexico goes. We rented a car and toured the island and Mayan ruins. Next time we will go downtown. When you arrive at the airport and after getting through border security and customs go straight to your Air Canada rep (if you are lucky enough to fly with them). She will be waiting outside wearing a red Air Canada shirt. She will get you setup with your shuttle to the resort (only 10 minutes away). Otherwise you risk getting bothered by the ATA (Dreams) time share people or other taxi services that you will have to pay for. Also, there will be an Air Canada rep at the resort everyday twice a day to respond to any questions or info on coming back home. Bring lots of US$ singles and tip the workers (room service, servers, cooks etc…) they make your stay wonderful yet they are paid so little. A little goes a long way. Also bring Mexican Pesos and or US$ to pay for any outings. Everything runs on cash. The workers wear masks but we didn’t have to for anyone concerned with Covid. If you don’t like what is being served at the buffet there is a menu you can order from that has more American style food. Be prepared to wait a while longer if kitchen is busy. Also bring some closed shoes, long pants and t shirt or long sleeves to reserve and enjoy The Veranda fancy restaurant. You must reserve your spot starting at 8 am with Roberto near the front desk. Roberto can also set you up with any car rentals or outings you want to do. When dealing with the front desk, see some of the older more experienced employees if you want it done right. I am a bit emotional writing this as it was such an enjoyable experience. I hope you enjoy it too.

Iberostar Waves Cozumel: Relaxing Resort
This was the 6th time my wife & I were at Iberostar Cozumel .The resort facilities were well maintained, the staff was very friendly & attentive and the food was well prepared.
For people looking for a relaxing, somewhat quiet vacation, this is the place to consider. The large pool is at a 4 foot depth throughout, and it was never crowded ( only the swim up bars at various times).Since many guests are divers, the overall atmosphere is more subdued.
Our only disappointment was with the speci[... read more]alized dining restaurants which had scaled back their evening menus. Besides the more limited choices in the Mexican & Chinese restaurants, the previous steak house has become a smoke house which only provides a pre-determined main course.
Hopefully this will change, since many visitors were echoing similar sentiments.

Melia Puerto Vallarta: Very nice
The resort is relatively small which we liked. The pool is large and the beach is nice too. It does get very busy at the pool (obviously) and sometimes there is not enough chairs to go round.
I would have liked a separate adults only section as there were a lot of children there and the pool was large enough to have separate areas.
The rooms are spacious with balcony and the bathroom is also very large.
The shower was powerful and shampoo, condition and shower gel are provided. My favourite [... read more]part is the towels are a proper size, a good size bath sheet not one of the silly towels you get usually in a hotel which barely fits round me! So that alone is worth 5 stars!
The staff are all super nice and friendly. Aqua aerobics in the pool with Sergio and Charlie every day was great fun. And Juan doing the beach drinks was very sweet.
The food was very inconsistent but there was plenty of it, so you won’t go hungry. Coffee is nice and juices and a good selection of baked goods.
Nightly entertainment was good, we went to a great magic show.
The resort was quiet from about 11pm which suited us.

Melia Puerto Vallarta: Relaxing but….
Very friendly staff slightly makes up for poor supervision and management. Wine list changed but no list or knowledge of what was available. Speciality restaurants were inconsistent and made the decision to go off site on our last night an easy one.
Great beach but not enough loungers for everyone.

Velas Vallarta: Accommodating services
I did not participate in any of the activities on the resort . I utilized the services of room service for food delivery, which was prompt , sealed and tasty. They have numerous wheelchairs available for use at the resort and the staff to assist in transporting, if necessary. The staff very pleasant and helpful. The studio rooms do not have a balcony and is just like a bachelorette appt with cooking stuff (fridge, microwave, stove top, etc etc ) the resort allows off resort health providers [... read more]to come and provide care .

Blue Bay Grand Esmeralda: Has potential, but fell drastically short on quality.
Resort listed as a "Luxury" 4 star but is at best a 3. You are welcomed with sewer stench around the lobby building and in areas on the grounds. Half of the public sinks were broken with noticeable urinals clogged or in disrepair. Ceilings in each public area were spotted with water stains from leaks and the thatch roofs had holes. Activities building was under construction as was the entire spa. The gym had half of its cardio equipment broken. The beach is small and has little to no shade cove[... read more]rs unless you pay extra to be in the time share/VIP area. The pool side is similar, with little shade coverage and a lot of seats in the heat of the sun. Expect to be at the pool/beach before 7am to find any covered seats.
Food is fairly good at the buffet and the pool taco stand, but a al carte restaurants fall short. The specialty dinners are overly salted, and you are limited in dishes. It is an all-inclusive, but they tell you no to a second dish while serving sizes are small. The reservation system for meals is very broken. Yet, they only book one day in advance starting at midnight and by 8am most spots are taken. Not a vacation when trying to schedule activities by some limited timeframe. The salad bar at the restaurants is usually picked clean by the later time slots (9pm) for dining, so it feels less of a nice restaurant and more of rush to get you out. BBQ buffet by the small pool was good for meat lovers. Buffet had decent selection, but the lines were a mess and more a free for all so go with patience and it is more enjoyable. At night, the main buffet has a solid sewer smell in the waiting area outside.
Bars were junk and the 24-hour sports bar is more of a barn with cheap lawn furniture. Reminded me of university where you hose down the place at the end of the night and no class to the location. TV's in bar were playing the resort advertisement on loop instead of sports games and asking for them to change the channel got no response. The lounge bar was again a patio with lawn furniture that was uncomfortable and cheap.
Service was almost non-existent. Even with tips the staff ignored you and you were left to line up to get your own drinks/food. Asking for a bottle of water was refused most of the time for lack of supply and you are directed to get a cup from a dispenser. Self serve coffee machines were often broken and the Black and White bar (24 hour) usually had a long line for drinks.
Stood first in line several times and watched myself or others passed over so the bartender would serve fellow Mexicans instead of the next customer. The cart shuttle drivers almost run you over and don't slow down while you are forced to share the same pathway as the work vehicles. Luis at the restaurants and Aldo at the main buffet were great though and engaged in good service.
Room was in disrepair with lights hanging from ceiling holes, rust stained mirrors, and never consistency on towels or even leaving toilet paper. Sinks have no plugs and face cloths appear to be a mythical item to obtain. Leaving tips was lost as service did not change. Even had a welcome package for another guest sent to the room and it clearly was marked for someone else on a different floor!
The company was great, and the sun was awesome. The pool areas are fun even if shaded seats are hard to get. You can get some reprieve from the sun under the bridges by the pool. The resort has space to be great, but just is run down and the workers don't seem to care.
If not for good people I travelled with and met there, I would have been very disappointed with my vacation. At full price this is a rip off and quality is definitely low. If the damaged areas were fixed, and the service showed they cared at least a little, this could be a good place. In the end, it looked run down and with staff constantly wearing "Resting B**** Face".

Sandos Playacar Beach Resort: Family get together.
The resort itself was amazing. Very friendly staff, very helpful. Lots of food options and the grounds and beaches always well-kept and clean. Unfortunately, the shuttle to and from the resort was terrible experience. Would not recommend BDExperience. When arriving we were held on platform for over an hour meanwhile being bombarded with offers of taxi rides that would get us to resort immediately. We felt we were being pressured. On leaving resort we were at the lobby an hour before schedul[... read more]e pickup and actually stood outside waiting. The attendant went to speak to a driver of a van and came back and said that was not our van. BD Experience said the van was there at the scheduled time. So, we had no other choice than to obtain a taxi to the airport. We feel this was a tactic to force us to use a taxi as we had a time limit to get to the airport. Please let your future customers aware of this.

Grand Sirenis Riviera Maya: Fabulous Vacation
The resort, beach, and rooms were beautiful! The pool is also incredible, we loved the lazy river also. The Ala Carts were excellent, however the buffets and quality of alcohol was mediocre for sure.
The bar tenders well I’m not sure if it was because the didn’t understand however my husband got a different rum drink every time. Sometimes white sometimes dark sometimes with diet and sometimes with regular. Overall great resort.

Tukan Hotel Playa Del Carmen: Great Resort!
This hotel is perfect for anyone who is looking for a basic and clean hotel to stay at while in Playa del Carmen. It is centrally located and is within walking distance to the beach, 5th ave and all the surrounding shops and restaurants. The staff were very helpful and responsive. The only negative thing I can say is that sometimes in the morning the cleaning staff talk very loudly and it can be a bit disturbing.

Grand Oasis Cancun: Great first resort but..
First time going to an all inclusive. I was looking at the grounds when booking and wanted something big with lots of views and pools. I wanted a party and to have a great time in Cancun. I had a great time, the staff parties and grounds were wonderful but I do not think I’ll be going back here next time due to now knowing what I want when going to an all inclusive. Good food and great rooms with a beautiful ocean.
Grounds and pool: great !! Huge huge place, be prepared to walk lots but th[... read more]at’s what I love doing. Exploring. And I got to do just that every day without leaving the resort (it’s huge) but the pools were a big thing for me when booking, I didn’t go into the pool once, so next time that’s one thing that I won’t care about really.
Food: gross survived on chips guacamole which wasn’t that that good and fruit from the buffet. If you do go here prebook restaurants the day you get the for every night. It’s ok food and at least gets you through the week
Rooms: 2/10 beds horrible, pillows horrible. Shower was good but we had a cockroach in our room we had to kill and it was horrible lol
Staff : absolutely wonderful ! Great people. Never had any problems. Felt so safe at the resort.
Really overall had a great time. But next time I will be looking at rooms and food as my main points of interests ♥ï¸

Barcelo Maya Beach Resort: Family Vacation
This is a nice resort. There was no entertainment for my kids to participate in. I was waiting for an entertainment group to take my both sons and give the best vacation for them. My room was not cleaned just 1 day and had to call in. The beach was not good, very dirty and smells. If you are not paying attention to where you are walking when inside the water on the beach there are big bumps. The staff were friendly, the restaurants were nice. I would go back if they can clean up the beach. The b[... read more]ar service was not good, i was standing for like 5 minutes and some dudes come and get serviced before me. Ocean Coral and Turquesa: Good Resort
Just returned from a week long vacation Nov 13-20. The resort is very clean, renovations being done on some of the El Beso privilege and regular rooms and the Villa Marina restaurant(which is running temporarily in the evening outside at Ocean Burger. We stayed in El Belso ocean view 4401, which had a great ocean view.
Minor problem with deadbolt it wouldn’t latch . Went to reception, maintenance was at room with ten minutes to fix it. Deadbolt fixed but now door won’t lock when leaving R[... read more]eception called again came 30 minutes later and after 30 minutes fixed and works perfectly. Great service.
Huge covered balcony two chairs and a table
Buffet lots of choices. Good food but it was not all that hot. If you like it hotter, they have a microwave for guests to use.
Waiter service at the Adult pool was the best we have ever experienced anywhere. Ricardo is a tireless worker and how he remembers what you were drinking is amazing.
El Beso for lunch one day, the fish tacos are amazing and so is the ravioli and grilled sausages(appetizers).
Went to Ocean burger for lunch one day, was very disappointed. Processed hamburger Pattie’s , very dry, bun dry, ordered signature Coral burger came undressed had to ask for lettuce, onion, no pickles no peanut sauce, which is fine but why have signature burgers listed and not dress them according to their menu. Found that strange. Will not be eating at Ocean burger again.
Dinner at the Italian (in door), minestrone soup was good as was the ravioli, Caesar salad is good but a different presentation ( full romaine lettuce leafs with salad dressing, croutons and cheese , you have to cut it up and mix it up). Had the seafood linguine (which is technically an appetizer) but they made it my main it was very good. My husband had the chicken parmigiana with angel hair pasta and he was disappointed, chicken was over cooked and dry and a very small portion of angel hair pasta. Enjoyed the Abba tribute outdoors one evening. Very entertaining.
Breakfast at the buffet, standard fare, good, great service , something for everyone.
Lunch at Route 66 very good the seafood ceviche delicious nachos , quesadillas and chicken nuggets all good
Dinner at the buffet on Italian night, a little underwhelming. Pasta was good as was the chicken parmigiana. They need more people manning the pasta station to get the line moving but I understand everywhere is struggling with hiring staff. Overall good but would not have suspected it was Italian night if I was not told in advance
Dinner at Villa Marina tonight excellent Carlos the waiter was great. Chocolate martini from lobby bar is delicious .
We did experience issues trying to get new pool towels, but wasn’t a show stopper for us, we just kept ours the whole week.
The beach was well maintained and the setup with chairs and palapa’s are plentiful and close to the ocean. The ocean was warm and for the most part sea grass free. My observation of this part of the coast is that the water is not the aqua blue that I am used to seeing further down the coast towards Playa del Carman and Akumal .
Overall enjoyed our experience at OCT.
