Ocean El Faro: Beautiful resort.

The people are always willing to help, they’re friendly. The resort is kept so clean and the landscaping is beautiful. Didn’t like how the reservations were handled for the a-la-Cart. Unless you were booking at 6:00 am, you could not get in.

Marien Puerto Plata Hotel: Great people, dated resort

The staff is fantastic. Rooms are very dated, some smell like mold. Pool is clean and large. Very difficult to book a la cart restaurants. You need to go to the lobby and book for each day, they do not allow you to book for the remainder of your stay. By the time you get to the lobby, very long line up to book the restaurants...to be told they are now full. There is lots of food in the buffet, but it is pretty bland. The issues I have are based on "corporate" or maintenance", not related to the staff. Although I had a great vacation and met many lovely people, I would not return again to this resort.

Royalton Hideaway Punta Cana: Beautiful/Loud Resort

The Royalton Punta Cana is a beautiful resort with a great location. The beach is stunning, the rooms are clean and the food is very good. We enjoyed the variety of eating at 8 different restaurants during our stay. Overall, the service was fair to good. It is a bit deceiving to think the Hideaway is a separate resort for adults only, because it is located within the Royalton family area. It does have a separate beach area, small pool and one restaurant that is designated for Hideaway guests o [... read more]nly. The Hideaway pool plays very loud music for most of the day and was always crowded during our stay. I would not recommend this resort for those really looking for an adult only experience or a quiet resort. We found quiet areas at the Hideaway section of the beach and the Diamond club pool at Splash. There are limited chairs available at the Hideaway pool and beach and guests were waking up very early (4 - 5am) to claim a spot.

Grand Palladium Punta Cana: Fantastic Resort

We have been to this resort many times. The resort never disappoints us. The room was spacious. The bathroom was an issue with the tub/shower being so deep that it was very difficult to get into and the shower glass did not enclose the tub so there was water everywhere.

Iberostar Waves Costa Dorada: Amazing Resort

We booked the resort for a 7 day all inclusive trip. I have to say this is probably the best resort for a low price I have been too. It had all the facilities we were looking for and staff was attentive and friendly. The food was great, as a vegetarian they were very accommodating and my friend who eats meat also enjoyed the food. The resort was medium sized, with a nice large pool and common area. The rooms were great, the bathroom seemed newly renovated and was very clean! The entertainment staff was amazing, very engaging and made all the activities fun. Shout out to Chocolate, Pepsi, Wifi and Darling - they made our stay much better by hosting fun games. And everyone was so energetic! This was our first time in Puerto Plata, definitely will visit again. Puerto Plata is less touristy compared to Punta Cana. If you are looking to do a lot of excursions then i would recommend Punta Cana as its closer to the excursion places and there are more activities to choose from. Overall very happy with our stay and will be going again

Melia Caribe Beach Resort: Lovely but disappointed

Beautiful, clean resort and beach, but 4 times could not get into our room as door not working. Did not have it near the phone or credit cards and they said they would have it checked but not until the 4th time did someone come and "activate" the door and then the cards worked immediately so it was definitely the door. Quite a distance to have to walk and get reset. Also, had trouble getting through on the number to reserve for restaurants...busy and then no answer. Iberostar Waves Costa Dorada: Great

Beautiful resort Our first all inclusive in years Good excellent Drinking water on resort was good ( not tap water) Could clear up grounds that are otherwise beautiful ( smokers need to use ashtrays and guests trash cans that are available)

Lifestyle Tropical Beach Resort: Some good soon bad!

At first we were put in one of the old room’s the next day we were move to a renovated room. Which was much nicer, the phone didn’t work,the toilet was broken we went to the front desk to let them know. They sent Someone right away but he didn’t fix it, so my husband fixed it.the shower leaked and the bed and pillows smelt very musty. The cement around the pools was very uneven, so much so my husband tripped on it and cut his foot pretty bad. Had to go to the doctors for care. For the res [... read more]t of the week he could not go in the water or on the beach😕😕 the food was not much better. The beach cabanas were very nice and the pool with the cave was beautiful! We would never go back , the negative outweigh the positive.

Catalonia Royal Bavaro: Resort need a major redo

The resort need a major revamp. Very little selection at the buffet in the morning and night. Restaurant at the beach should be buffet in the morning and at lunch time. Sitting area around lobby had uncomfortable furniture. Restaurant a la carte where so-so. It wasn't worth the price I paid. Very disappointing.

Occidental Punta Cana: Good Location

The resort grounds are beautiful and very well maintained. The rooms are updated and clean. The staff was very nice and Joseph the "spa guy" was such a sweetheart! The Steak House and Mexican were excellent, Italian not so much. The pizzeria again very good, wish it was open earlier for lunch time. The buffet was ok nothing special. We found a used lysol wipe under our salad while eating and brought it to a few of the staff's attention but they didn't seam to care. The resort was not at f [... read more]ull capacity which was great, if it was full capacity it would be a problem for waiting etc... Personally the resort was too big and I would not go back.

Dreams Onyx Resort and Spa: An excellent resort

Great food except ironically the Japanese restaurant which was the only one that required advance booking. Buffet lovely and high quality. Great waves for the kids. Sand underfoot in the ocean. Rooms beautiful. Pillows too fat for comfort. Spa ‘hydrotherapy’ a bit of a joke. Overall would book again in a minute.

Iberostar Waves Dominicana: Great experience

we had no expectations, good or bad for Iberostar Dominicana as we registered there so we could scuba dive with Dressel Divers which operates out of the resort grounds. we were pleasantly surprised by the experience and would return. in short, the facility was immaculate, staff friendly for the most part and food and lodging excellent.

Riu Republica: Not a 5*

Riu Republica is not a 5* resort. It is only 5 years old but it shows its age. Some rooms are in desperate need of repair. We had to change accommodations 3 times,to finally be happy with the room. Have to be fair, staff was very happy to help us find comfortable place. Hotel hallways are like something you would find in the basement. On windy days wasn't to bet,otherwise terrible odors of sewage. Grounds are big and total lack of directory. No one to help with the luggage. Those ar [... read more]e the bed things. Now all the great: Staff in the reception very friendly and willing to help. Cleaning ladies are doing their best without interfering. Grounds are beautiful !!! Beach is the best !!! Food very good ! Drinks are decent! Gets very crowded on weekends !!!

Barcelo Bavaro Palace: Pleasant stay

First of all the hotel is very big, which could be a good thing or bad thing to people. We like it because you don’t feel you stuck in a complex and there are many things to explore in it. Pro: Relatively new renovation for the junior suite we stayed. It is in a good size and balcony has a good view for the ocean. Food variety is good. The quality is not great but ok. Service is good. Beach is the best and pools are nice but could be busy for certain hours. Has a good golf course althou [... read more]gh we are not golfers. Con: TV is old and quality of picture is bad. I know it doesn’t matter that much but sometimes you do need to watch something (like Oscar live😀) Phone in the room never works At one of the restaurants, Mexico, my wife had stomach issue after a fish main course. Staff can’t speak English sometimes. Instructions for checkout/shuttle bus to airport/ Covid test are not clearly listed Overall we are happy we can have a great vacation after 3 year Covid lockdown!!

El Beso Adults Only at Ocean El Faro: Nice clean resort

Food variety and quality was excellent Grounds and pools all clean Nice having a kids side and a adult side that was much quieter. There was really no evening entertainment. Beach was rocky but there’s a nice area on one side of the resort that has a nice ocean swimming area. Bar in the front lobby made the best drinks. 30c every day and full sun.

Playabachata Hotel: Good

The hotel was all good and had good service. I was a bit disappointed because many things in the room were falling apart. The main pool isn’t super nice but it’s all right. Overall, it’s an okay hotel and the best part is having access to the entertainment on the 5 star hotel next door. For the same price I can have a better hotel in Cuba so If I am going to Dominican Republic I would not come back here. The staff were very good however and did their best to help you. Senator Puerto Plata Hotel: Amazing holiday

Just home from a weeks vacation at the Senator Puerto Plata resort in the Dominican Republic. Awesome resort, food, service and beautiful surroundings. Very clean and especially diligent about Covid protocol. Hopefully will return again and highly recommend it. Also recommend Wendy Harrington at Trip Central who helped us book and had an answer for all our questions.

Bahia Principe Explore Punta Cana: Not 5 star as indicate,

The Hotel is good the location is not. The beach is not clean too many Leafs. All days were Rough ocean. staff poor English The shows were Good. Ala cart Restaurants is not that good. Units far away from the Facilities.

Ocean Blue and Sand: Wonderful Resort

All features of the hotel where more than expected except for the Junior suite we had. It was not what the picture showed it would be and we where very disappointed. Examples - The toilet roll kept falling off of the broken post on the wall. The door on the cupboard that the fridge was in scrapped across the floor evetime we opened it. The room in general was not clean, especially the bathroom.

Grand Palladium Palace: Review

It was good but kids hubbies was less than my expectation for example water park or kids club Also inside transportation in resort was very limited SPA was expensive WiFi was limited in some areas overall good
