Blue Bay Grand Esmeralda: TRÈS BEL HÔTEL
UN BEL ENDROIT POUR LES JEUNES ET MOINS JEUNES, PLUSIEURS ACTIVITÉS POUR TOUS DANS L'EAU ET HORS DE L'EAU. ÉVIDEMMENT ON NE PROFITE PAS DE LA PLAGE CAR LES ALGUES NE SENTENT PAS MAIS PRENNENT TOUTE LA PLACE. ON A TROUVÉ 4 RESTO SUR 6 EXCELLENTS ( SAUF ASIATIQUE ET ITALIEN ...TRÈS MOYENS ). LES CHAMBRES SONT TRÈS CORRECTES, AIR CLIMATISÉ PEU RÉGLABLE MAIS OK. IL Y A UN MANQUE DE KART POUR SE PROMENER CAR LA PLAGE ET PISCINES SONT LOIN DU LOBBY. LES BUFFETS SONT BIEN DIVERSIFIÉS.
Grand Sunset Princess: Can't complain
Pros: Gorgeous resort, well-maintained, friendly staff, quick and knowledgable bartenders, good buffets, fun day entertainment and great night entertainment, clean rooms, lots of pools, car rentals on site, good gym, felt safe the whole time. Cons: A bit bigger than I prefer (easy to get lost, far to walk everywhere), the beach had lots of kelp? sea grass?, in the water off the beach there were lots of sharp rocks that were hard to avoid stepping on when the waves hit you, LOTS of kids - badly [... read more]
Bahia Principe Explore Coba: Seaweed on beach a major problem
The resort and the staff were very helpful with all needs or questions. Serving staff in the buffets were very good/quick and efficient. Specialty restaurants were great. One of the main reasons we go to the resorts in Mexico and other areas in the Caribbean is to enjoy the beach and the ocean. Due to the significant amounts of the seaweed which accumulated on the beach daily we were not able to enjoy the beach or the ocean. Although the workers tried their best they could not get ahead of i [... read more]
Bahia Principe Escape Sian Ka'an: A Relaxing Week
Just returned from Sian Ka'an. It has a relaxing vibe if you are looking to unwind. The pool at Sushi Bar has meditative music playing and beautiful sunny whirlpools to de-stress in. The food at this resort is excellent! Lots of variety and flavourful at every meal. If you are looking for a little more excitement, there is lively entertainment just a trolley ride away at Akumal resort in the evening and also good souveneir shopping at 'Hacienda.' The beach is well maintained at this resort [... read more]
Dreams Puerto Morelos Resort and Spa: A little disappointed but still worthwhile
This was only our second experience at a Secrets Resort and it had a very different feel. Our room was perfectly located, by chance of cou, but we were very appreciative. The food was not nearly as good as our last trip but the staff was friendly and attentive in the bars. Our maid service was poor but the room was maintained. The pools were great but beach was not. Terrible time getting bath towels and beds made.
Bahia Principe Escape Sian Ka'an: Resort is 5++
This resort was by far the best 5 star my husband and I have stayed at in Mexico. The service was top notch, food variety and presentation was amazing and the entire resort was so clean. The rooms were very modern and overall, many entertainment options to choose from throughout the day and evenings. We met a number of couples that were returning, not their second time but 5+ times. We will be back to this resort very soon. It’s a gem!!!
JOIA Paraiso by Iberostar: Excellent Resort
The hotel was beautiful and the service was outstanding. Food was excellent. It was difficult to get reservations for the a la carte restaurants. They seemed to be fully booked every single night and the only times available were not suitable for us. When we complained to management about this, they made it work. We were able to get to try all the restaurants but I was just disappointed that I had to complain to management in order to secure the reservations to the restaurants. The pools were [... read more]
Riu Yucatan: Great trip
The resort was clean. The staff was very friendly and helpful breakfast was good but the dinners need work. dinner at the steakhouse was delicious the beach was gorgeous well maintained even with the seaweed being the worst they have had this year.
The Fives Downtown Hotel: Best Urban Hotel Ever!!
For this trip I wanted something different than the typical 'resort' feel but still wanted to be close to the beach and to the nightlife but I did not want to sacrifice quality accommodations or hotel amenities. The Fives Downtown has it all!!! The place is chic. Super clean and modern. Good for young adult professionals (25 - 40) but also older. It gives off a professional vibe while at the same time feels like home away from home. The pool is to die for!! The pool is soooo amazi [... read more]
Hard Rock Hotel Riviera Maya: Total satisfaction
Staff is fantastic. From bellmen to servers to front desk, the employees went out of their way to insure our stay was fantastic. Resort was exceptionally well maintained. Dining options were many and all excellent. Entertainment options throughout the day. Also plenty of quiet areas if you just wanted relaxation. A great value and will absolutely visit again. A+++
Bahia Principe Explore Akumal: Dream Vacation
The Luxury Bahia Principe Akumal met our every expectation. The impeccable grounds, the amazing service, the lovely pools and the calm ocean lagoon all contributed to a wonderfully restful week. The resort is massive but a regular trolley enabled us to get to every location quickly. We booked several restaurants the first day and really enjoyed the Brazilian and Seafood restaurants. The seaweed problem does exist but the staff work extremely hard and have it all cleaned up each morning. We would [... read more]
Ocean Maya Royale: Awesome vacation
We stayed at Ocean Maya last week and enjoyed every moment. The entertainment staff are so amazing. Big thank you to Christian and Andrea for making our week so special. If you are looking for a deal on excursions be sure to see Margarita by the pool. She had better rates then the front did. We did the Mayan ruins and cenotes. It was absolutely the highlight of our trip. The resort was well kept. The rooms were very nice. The only downfall was the seaweed which a problem in Mexico this year. [... read more]
Bahia Principe Explore Akumal: Great Resort
Large clean resort. Staff very friendly and go out of their way to make your stay enjoyable. Lots of choices for dining from buffets to a la Cartes with a huge selection of different foods. Shuttles will take you anywhere on the resort.
Viva Azteca by Wyndham: really enjoyed this resort
Staff could not have been more attentive, rooms dated but clean, beautiful beach and were still able to swim in ocean regardless of the seaweed (which s harmless and doesn't smell bad either). We enjoyed the food very much and no long lineups at the buffet or the bars. Great place and service - we will definitely be going back next year!
El Dorado Seaside Suites: Great resort!
The grounds are beautiful, and very well maintained- there is always someone working on keeping it looking good. The rooms are clean and comfortable- there was not any availability of 2 beds in a room, which was difficult for non couples guests. Adding that option might offer more flexibility. The Palms section could use an update - the rooms look a bit dated. Offer a choice of no jacuzzi , as it is not something everyone wants .The food was excellent, and the service was friendly - lots of choi [... read more]
JOIA Paraiso by Iberostar: Excelente
Wonderful experience. This hotel gives you access to all their properties. Outstanding pools including wave pool, salt water pool and lazy river. Activities from gyms to spa to pool side to evening presentations were well organized fun and professional. Dance lessons with Sailin were amazing. Food was to die for especially the Italian restaurant.
Blue Bay Grand Esmeralda: Good and bad features
The positive with this resort are the rooms are clean and the food is great. The buffet and a la carte restaurants were all very good. Our room had water come up through the bathroom floor drain. The staff responded very quickly to resolve it and any other requests. Wi fi service is good. Golf cart train to transport guests around this large property was efficient and always friendly. All staff were always friendly, service was terrific. The beach is not appealing. The seaweed dominates the [... read more]
Iberostar Waves Paraiso del Mar: Loved his place
This is a beautiful resort. Great pools, lovely grounds, super clean rooms and friendly staff. We had no issues with the water served with meals, frozen drinks or fresh fruit and salad bar items. I would highly recommend Iberostar Paraiso to anyone looking to travel to the Mayan Riviera. Also a bonus that it is so close to the airport.
Bahia Principe Explore Coba: Best Resort I’ve been yet
Everything was great, the service was superb, the people were friendly and attentive, especially in the morning during breakfast always a coffee refill. The trip excursion was amazing, we went to the Selvatica, which my Son and I are thrill seekers, and it was a place to be if you’re not afraid of heights, if you are this is the place to conquer your fear. The beach was ok, but 5 min walk to either side of the beach got better, so I will recommend anyone that wants to go to Maya Riviera. [... read more]
Royalton Hideaway Riviera Cancun: Excellent Resort
We were very happy with this resort. Lots of entertainment and lots of restaurant choices. It was nice to be able to have breakfast and lunch in the restaurants if you didn't feel like the buffet. We loved that on the most part reservations were not required at most of the a la cartes....it was first come first serve and we did not have to wait long at all. It is quite a large resort and lots of areas to find shade if you wanted. Our only disappointment was the amount of seaweed on the beac [... read more]
