Valentin Perla Blanca: Beautiful resort!!

This hotel is beautiful!! The beach was the best that I ever seen and I've been to many resort!!! The food was good for Cuba!! I would definitely suggest you go as a privilege guess. Better view, nicer seating at the beach, cushion for your chair.

Melia Cayo Santa Maria: wonderful resort with fantastic staff!!!

Although I haven't been to many resorts I did enjoy my time here. The people were so friendly and always trying to accommodate you. The grounds were beautiful although the paths and walkways were a little dark at night. The food at the buffet was good but the a LA cart restaurants were nothing special for food choices. Melia Las Dunas: Fantastic resort

Beautiful, breath taken amazing,you must see this resort to believe it . Service is great,friendly and eager to please. The food in the buffets and a la cart is world class,much better and healthier than I eat at home. The beaches are so beautiful you forget that there are magnificent pool just feet away from your room. Melia Cayo Santa Maria: Disappointing - this is not a 4 star hotel!

The best thing about Cuba has always been the people! The staff at the hotel were very friendly and helpful without exception. Amazing people! I was very disappointed with the hotel overall. We arrived late ( 4 am) due to bad weather at home and were not able to even brush our teeth as there was no drinking water in the room. Two calls to the front desk yielded nothing. In the morning I noticed that I had slept in used sheets - the chamber maid fixed this problem immediately.We used the same bee [... read more]ch towel for the week because we were told that it was difficult for them to do laundry. We went 5 days without hot water - At 63 I am too old to take cold showers! I travel a lot and this is my 5th trip to Cuba; I found the food lacking. Perhaps this is due to the distance that the trucks have to go to deliver fresh food. Over the years I have found that the food in Cuba had improved greatly at the other hotels I have stayed in. This was not the case here. Even the 'a la carte' restaurants were bland and often were unable to provide what was on the menu. The weather was perfect. The beach was not on par with the beaches say in Varedero. There was a 'hill' of sand in front of the hotel that had to be climbed or walked around. I know this had nothing to do with the hotel itself but I would caution anyone with back, hip or walking problems as there was also a strong undertow and we found that it was sometimes very difficult to get out of the water. We were unable to get a place on the beach until day 3 as all shaded areas and chairs were taken. We were finally advised that one had to go down at 7 am to secure a spot. I am trying to be very honest - I paid for a 4 and a 1/2 star hotel and wouldn't give it a 3 star rating. Don't bother with the Elegance club: -we did get a welcome drink but no cold towel -dedicated room location ????? I was very happy with the location of our room as it was very quiet. -beach towels, bath robes and slippers NO -turn down service NO -20% discount on SPA treatments - I did get the discount because I had a massage - but my travel companion did not because I guess a facial and hair treatment doesn't count???????????????????? - Exclusive concierge ---- not sure what this means -BarbQ party - didn't go -Manager's cocktail party - - - missed that ????

Melia Las Dunas: No surprises - Expectations met

This was the second time at this resort, for the price this resort exceeded our expectations. The rooms were a little worn down then the last time we were there. That being said the rooms beds and sheets were clean and well stocked with water and supplies. We enjoyed our stay and would return. The food quality and selection at this resort was great. you could always find something to eat. Staff were friendly and service was good. Melia Las Dunas: Amazing resort

This was our first time at this particular part of Cuba and we really enjoyed our stay at the Melia Las Dunas. It is an amazing resort with the beautiful grounds and colourful gardens. Loved the adult section and stayed in room 4413 ground floor which overlooked the adult pool but had no particular view because of the bushes and garden growth but great because of its privacy and quietness. Loved the ice cream parlour. Entertainment was good with plenty going on if you want it. Beach beautiful with plenty of sand area to sunbathe and the ocean was warm and gentle for swimming. This is a large resort with plenty of walking and did not feel overcrowded even at the March break week. This area of Cuba is well worth the long drive from the airport. Just do it!

Valentin Perla Blanca: loved it

We stayed here March 6th- 13th with a group of 13... we all loved it! Exchanged our money at the airport and the bus ride was fun.. our tour guide was so funny. Check in was quick, we requested to change our room and they were happy to help once a room opened up! Food was ok could always find something! The beach was amazing.. nicest sand ever! The first few days the pool was a bit murky but they cleaned it and it cleared right up. Favourite thing was the cuban coffees from the coffee bar just off of the lounge! We went to 2 al cartes.. Playa Cayo Santa Maria: Such a pleasant surprise!

Going to Cuba for the first time, we had heard it all-the food is awful being the main complaint. We decided that if you were hungry at this resort, then there must be something wrong with you. There was so much to choose from in the buffet for all meals. And yes there were line ups but how else can you serve hundreds of people at the same time? Rooms were comfortable and spacious. Playa Cayo Santa Maria: GREAT PLACE TO STAY

friendly and accommodating staff--entertainment staff where amazing. resort had plenty of room to move around you could be in the center of the action or find a nice quiet place. We were there during march break resort was busy but you never waited in huge line ups. Rooms where average and kept very clean. No pressure to tip you did it because you wanted to --the service was excellent. always found something good to eat good selection and you could always ask to have something specially prepared

Gran Muthu Cayo Santa Maria: Great Vacation

Awesome weather, clean resort, good beach. Amazing room - upgraded to suite - totally worth it. Went with 2 families of 4 and the kids had a blast. I would definitely recommend the catamaran tour with the dolphins.

Valentin Perla Blanca: Great resort

I was very pleased with my trip to Valentin Pearla Blanca. The food was good, beach was amazing and the resort was beautiful. My only complaint was they needed more staff for the lobby bar area, other than that it was fantastic.

Valentin Perla Blanca: Just not ready

I truly believe that the resort is not quite ready. For a five star you need to have things in order, otherwise the stay is not what one would expect and would be very very disapointed. The resort needs to organise themselves, in abetter way.

Playa Cayo Santa Maria: Great resort!

The resort is beautiful and very well maintained. The pools are a real highlight - very clean and lots of options for swimming. Staff was very friendly as well. Our 5 and 8 year old had a fantastic time!

Melia Cayo Santa Maria: Fantastic Beach

The resort is older but everything is clean. I go there for the beach and ocean view. The food is average Cuban fare. My only real complaint was there was very few times that they had hot water. If the beach is what you want this is definitely the place to go!

This was a really nice resort...Buildings,bars, pools,scenary,grounds are very well kept.Restaurant are well kept except Food is the same everyday,but there,s always something.Snack bar is not really a snack bar because half the time you cant get what you want.Rooms are nice but we had the same towels for 5 days and beach towels.Keep asking maid for new ones,said there was none....Go to your rep for this bc it,s the only way your going to get towels...We flew Transat and Yanlin our Rep got the b [... read more]all rolling.Went from 1 minute to having no towels and to 4 clean ones and 2 clean beach towels...Amazing....Building 4 is there furthest away avoid at all cost...Buildings 8-9 are the best O/V...Overall you get what you pay i guess.Staff are excellent for what they have to work with.

Service was super. Always restocked our in room fridges with cold drinks. Maintenance of the grounds a class. Food was ok. Bed sheets had some stains and pillow cases had hair, but we brought our own pillow cases. For the money it was worth it. Overall great experience.. Thank you cuba!!!!

Gran Muthu Cayo Santa Maria: Nice break from the cold

Stayed at the Eurostars from March 10-17th. We have been to numerous Carribean resorts as a couple but this was our first all inclusive vacation with our two children, ages 7 & 9. Our ocean view suite in building 9 was fabulous for the 4 of us! The pool (with the pool bar) was a short walk and the beach wasn't a whole lot further than that. The beach in the area we were was quite rocky but it didn't take long to find nice, smooth sand. However, the beach was always packed so we would get up earl [... read more]y and reserve chairs by the pool with a shaded area for the kids to be able to take a break from the sun throughout the day. The food at the buffet left a lot to be desired. Labels didn't always match what was being presented. When something good came out it quickly disappeared and often times we wouldn't see it again. We only went to 1 a la carte, the service was painfully slow and the food wasn't worth the wait. The service at the snack bar is horrendous! This resort could most definitely benefit with hiring more staff. Our best meal by far was when we went on a catamaran tour. There was snorkelling, a stop at a private beach and then on to interact with dolphins and then a lobster (or chicken) lunch. No shortage of food here, definitely worth the $100. per adult. I should mention that the Michael Jackson show is a must see!!! All in all a good vacation, afterall you can't beat that weather! It's the 1.5 hour transfer from the airport along with the lack of staff (and sketchy food) that will not have us returning.

Playa Cayo Santa Maria: Another good trip

This was our second time staying at this resort and we had another relaxing holiday. We were originally put in Bldg 1 but asked to move to Bldg 7 where we had stayed last year. They were able to move us the next day which was fantastic. Our room in Bldg 7 was in better condition than Bldg 1 plus closer to the beach and pools. Staff are very nice and friendly at this resort. There are a number of different pools and we were always able to get a chair without too much bother. As for the food, we were always able to find something good to eat. They have a new seafood restaurant beside the snackbar in which we had a wonderful meal. We did not have as good a meal this year in the Romantica restaurant but it may have been the dishes we ordered. We did have a good dinner last year. Typically I am not a fan of the buffet however, we ended up eating our lunches there - the selection was great and if you went at 1:00 when the buffet opened, everything was fresh and there were no line ups. For breakfast we chose to eat at the snack bar rather than the buffet - it offered eggs, bacon, fresh fruit , juice and cappucino - what more could you want? The only disappointment was that someone stole my Coach sunglasses from my beach bag - I thought I was fairly careful with keeping the bag with me at all times but either way they disappeared. All in all we had a wonderful relaxing trip - we would definitely recommend this resort.

We was there for fourteen days Wonderful . Beach extraordinaire ,Missing beach towel never received new one same for towel after shower.Staff excellent.Catamaran excellent .Beach clean .We are not smoking but the resort is smoking free .
