Melia Marina Varadero: Good resort

Overall, Melia Marina is a pretty good resort, except for customer service is pretty bad. 80% of the employees working there has no smile and never greet, not even Hola. Needs a big improvement in their customer service. Some of the dish served in the buffet is way too salty. The ala carte restaurants in the evening are pretty good. The lounge in the level provides the best service. Rooms are clean.

Starfish Varadero: Amazing time

First time travelling to Cuba. Traveled with 7 people everyone enjoyed the week at Starfish. Beach was amazing always clean. The resort was big enough but not to big. The grounds were nice and always kept clean. The rooms were nice and comfortable. The food was very good A lot of people complain about Cuba food there was always something to eat for our group. Eating at a buffet here three meals a day for 7 days could also get repetitive. Security was willing to walk you to your room Was nice to have a bus at the resort to take you to town

Melia Varadero: Amazing Resort with a great beach, awesome dining,and professional Entertainment

This hotel is located on a beautiful beach in the middle of Veradero.The hotel has great food and lots of al a carte restaurants to choose from which are all excellent.The pool is decent with a pool bar that has great service for drinks.The entertainment is the best i have seen in Cuba from professional dancers,piano players,bands,and mimes that entertain every evening.The rooms are very comfortable with great views of the beach or pool area.My only complaint is that the elevators are very slow  [... read more]but theres always the stairs if you are in a big hurry to get to all the great activities and beach to enjoy the volleyball,the 24 hour bar and restaurant,buffet restaurant or out for a tour of Veradero.I would highly reccommend this hotel for anyone visiting Cuba.

Sol Varadero Beach: Pay the extra money to go to a better resort.

This hotel is great for low maintenance people. If you are someone that doesn't need a door, toilet seat or toilet paper to pee, bottles of water to drink or you can live without working power or water for periods at a time, then this resort is for you. Luckily if you get drunk enough the awful food and hotel conditions do not bug you as much. Overall I strongly suggest saving your money to go somewhere else. The roaches in the hallway are large.

Royalton Hicacos Resort and Spa: Second time around, just as wonderful!

The hubby and I absolutely love this resort. Beach is stunning, food is great, and the staff is wonderful! We will be heading back for our 3rd and 4th trips soon as possible! I would highly recommend. Luxurious and quaint, you won't be disappointed!

Resonance Blu Varadero: Nice relaxing vacation

Flew with AC..and that itself was a great experience..on time and nice flight both ways. I was in Memories 3 years ago..znd that wasnt the best experience then..but this time its was way better..i really have nothing negative to say..the only thing..maybe the room are a bit dated..but everything was working fine. Beach is awsome as usual..food was great. Its was a good deal and i will be back.

Royalton Hicacos Resort and Spa: Great Relaxing Time

My boyfriend and I stayed here for 5 days over Canadian thanksgiving and had a very enjoyable time. We were nervous as we knew going to Cuba the food might not be that great however we were pleasantly surprised!! I did not have any complaints about the food - we ate at the international restaurant twice, italian once and the seafood last and were were pleased every time. Also the bartender Ana was great!!! (make sure you ask her for a special daiquiri or pina colada). We were sad to leave and we are already planning our trip back!

Palma Real: Terrible rooms

Beware. Palma real is under a different management group now(barcelo)...worse experience ever. No water. No A/C. Mold everywhere. Food quality is very poor. The hotel is working at 30%capacity. One pool out of service....and the general manager is not able to do anything. Time to switch hotels.

Palma Real: Huge disappointment

My first time in Cuba, and i wish i had all good things to say but i don't . Rooms - very rundown, lot of water damage, smelled like mold, a/c only worked half the time, my door frame was lose and i felt like someone could easily break in, but they were clean at least. Resort itself, hallways were in bad shape, smelled like mold, swim up bar/pool was closed, which was a major disappointment as that is my fav place to be, the pool area needed severe renos, the cement/patio area was cracked and  [... read more]moldy, the soda at the bars was flat all week as well. The staff was very polite and really nice, my fav part was the Disco, loved it, we went every nite it was open, unfortunately is was CLOSED for several nites we were there, which was very frustrating. Food was pretty bad, i had no choice but to eat pasta and bread all week or go off the resort for some amazing meals. Alot of disappointments , but we still managed to have a great time, because we went off the resort every day as it's right downtown. that was my only savior ! Unless there are major renos, i would not go back to this resort.

Palma Real: Best location!!

Went for a birthday party. Location was amazing. Only a 2 min walk to the beach (with private bar and snacks included) and the popular bars of Beatles and Cale 62. The resort itself is very old, dated, and lots of mold. We went in October to resort restaurants and swim up bar were closed. Luckily great food in town for good prices. I probably wouldn’t go back to this resort but if you are just there to sleep you would enjoy it.

Palma Real: Wasn’t what I was expecting

Hotel was run down, stunk like mould. The pool that was open was falling apart and dirt. The swim up pool Bar was closed and water was drained. Buffet barely had any food in it. Resort was quiet and ran out of a lot of their booze and pop, juice etc. I wasn’t very happy at all.

Playa Caleta: Home sweet home

Been to this hotel many many times. Very clean and comfortable. We met a few new people there this trip. The workers were very accommodating and pleasant. The young lady head of Public Rellations Mercy is amazing. We had lunch with her a lot and enjoyed her to no end. A lot of the same employees are still there with a few new ones. Absolutely loved the show at nite. My favourite dancers are back. I will definitely be going back

Royalton Hicacos Resort and Spa: TRuly Amazing Resort! Incredible people servicing guests!

Absolutely the best ever all inclusive vacation we have had with Trip Central and Sunwing. Strongly recommend that when going to Royalton Hicacos in Varadero, Cuba opt for the Diamond Club upgrade. It was amazing to have two butlers answering our every request immediately. In addition they give you all these extras like executive dinner with management! Butler service at the door to your room literally. We had a Diamond Club lunge with every bottle of alcoholic beverage imaginable plus treats [... read more], goodies and food on demand. We had a la carte dinners every day, we had special breakfasts available in one of the a la carte restaurants. The best butlers ever are Jorge and Roberto, they partnered to serve with firendliness and dedication. We had a private beach available only to members of the Diamond Club. We had a drinks server on request as many times a day as we wanted while at the beach. We could change beach towels as often as we wanted. In short we are going back soon.................

Paradisus Varadero: Beautiful resort

We had an amazing stay at Paradisus. All the staff were super friendly. Food was good. The beaches and pools were amazing. Only down fall was their debit/visa machine was down so I would recommend bring extra cash so you don’t have to deal with that.

Club Kawama: Okay just ok.

Older hotel that needs work in all areas. Nice staff, ok food not great. Lousy drinks except beer and wine alright. Worn mattress and room could use a deep clean. Many faults but ok at the right place. Location is good and quite walkable.

Palma Real: Beautiful beach!

The main attraction for me was to swim up bar but unfortunately it was closed the pool was drained the hotel rooms were very weatherbeaten run down but clean the staff were amazing friendly and helpful. the dining hall presented very nice but the food was cold and not a very good selection. the hotel is close to town Which was nice! We could walk in and have dinner at a restaurant go to a nightclub check out fleamarket’s or just ride the tour bus for the whole day for five pesos! Paradisus Princesa Del Mar: Management must be doing something right

First time at this resort, overall we had good time. We did not stay in Royal Service section. Beach was great, grounds well kept. Rooms are ageing, but kept clean. Air conditioning was quite weak, had to keep it on all the time. Food quality was above average for Cuban resorts. Positive staff attitude, turned the vacation into a success. Management must be doing something right.

Resonance Blu Varadero: Our favourite resort

This is our 9th trip in 11 years since its opening as Sarenas Las Salina. We love the size since you are required to walk a lot. We have established a very friendly relationship with staff especially the ones who have been employed there since it opened. We have also visited some of their homes in Matanza. We will be booking and going again in September 2019.

Melia Las Antillas: Very nice and friendly people

We had a great time. The food was okay and the nice people working there were great. The shows at night were also very amusing snd entertaining. Oh and don’t forget the beautiful beach, always clean and blue! I’m definitely returning to Melia Las Antillas!

Hotel Los Cactus: Money well spent

I was looking for cheap vacation and i found it. Hotel was as expected. A quite a bit older. But if anything was wrong with the room they would upgrade no problem. Cuba does not have great food. The buffet had options, maybe equal to places costing 70% more that ive stayed at. I heard the restaurants were good but i always missed reserving and days i did make it up, were the wrong days lol. The staff would walk right past empty cups in the sand all day long. I resorted to cleaning my own areas and when walking up from a swim in the ocean. Very nice staff otherwise.
