The premises are second to none as is the staff. Food is good though some menu items could be upgraded. Pools are fantastic and great beach. Rooms are nice with great views. Still is our favourite resort by far.

Barcelo Puerto Vallarta: Very nice resort, spoiled by poor maintenance, uncomfortable beach lougers, and very loud music
The hotel building and grounds are beautiful. The rooms are spacious, but not well-maintained. We had one of the best rooms available, but it had a long list of things that did not work. Staff fixed most items, but why would management leave it to guests to do the inspections?
The Italian and Spanish restaurants are very good. Los Arcos is poor, and the main buffet is quite good.
Our major complaints were the endless loud music (11 am to 6 pm every day), which follows you everywhere, even [... read more]into your room, and the very uncomfortable pool loungers. If you like a quiet and comfortable holiday, avoid this resort.

Krystal Grand Nuevo Vallarta: Not up to it’s ratings
The ground were ok, the pools were very nice but the laminate flooring around the pool area was VERY unsafe. MANY people had bad slips and falls when it was wet and wet feet. Our room was ok, but the safe didn’t work, until it was fixed, the tv remote didn’t work, until we got another one and no hair blow dryer until we asked for one. The in room coffee maker put the coffee everywhere except IN the coffee pot, we had to get that replaced also. The wifi is VERY hit and miss everywhere on the reso[... read more]rt. The online booking for the ala carte restaurants was useless. 2 of the 3 restaurants were closed for half of our 2 week stay. The buffet was your usual, some days ok, other days not so much.

Royalton Hideaway Riviera Cancun: Almost Great
Visiting this location was my first experience with an all inclusive location.
The rooms were exactly as advertised, they were great. Very clean and well looked after during our stay.
The staff was very helpful and there is a LOT of staff to help, very friendly always with a smile.
I did find it to be very large ( larger than I would want in the future) some of the restaurants were a long walk.
There is a very well appointed buffet with plenty of options PROBLEM was a lot of the food wasn'[... read more]t very warm, some was actually cold. Cold scrambled eggs really don't cut it but you can get freshly made omlettes.
The other restaurants were difficult to get bookings at a reasonable time for me. The Italian offering was down in the kids section.
Upcharges at the restaraunts for improved steaks or cuts was tremendously expensive. example at the Steakhouse on site to move up to a better cut of steak cost $ 180.00 US, in my opinion that is an unjustifiable charge.
Honestly between the food and the size of the overall facility this resort isn't one I will be going to in the future.
The ocean beach really was un-useable due to seaweed coming in, they tried to keep it at bay but couldn't keep up.

Bahia Principe Explore Akumal: Amazing Time
We absolutely love this resort and only have amazing things to say! Right from when we arrived, Francisco came out from behind the check-in desk and greeted us and made check in so smooth and effortless, providing all the details necessary for navigating the resort as well as some very cold glasses of champagne. The food choices here are vast, delicious, and fresh whether you go to a restaurant or the buffet. The service is amazing and attentive, and Jose even suggested some delicious drinks we [... read more]didn't know were an option to order. The resort itself is extremely clean, all the natural features are very well taken care of and even the wild animals are chill indicating that there is a happy balance on the resort between people and nature. I highly recommend this resort and it is somewhere we will definitely be returning to (hopefully again and again over the years).

Riu Santa Fe: Never again!
We were devastated to find out it was spring break for many colleges from the USA for the entire 2 weeks of our vacation. The resort had no control over the young people who were all drinking to excess. We saw so many sloppy drunks, as the age limit for drinking in Mexico is 18. The youth were 3-4 deep at the bar, making it almost impossible to get served. One boy pulled the fire alarm at 3/00 in the morning so the whole. Building had to evacuate. They were yelling at the pools, in their rooms ([... read more]where there was more free alcohol) and in the hallways up to 4:00 am.
The food was tasty and there was a good variety but it was never hot.

Ocean Coral and Turquesa: Even better than expected
This resort was a nicely laid out resort. We were a group of 4 adults (2 couples) and we really wanted a bit of a combination vacation. We wanted to be able to "join in the fun" and we also wanted to be able to relax and enjoy the sun. We were pleasantly surprised at how well this resort was laid out to easily allow this to happen. We were just regular guests - although we did upgrade to El Beso for a small fee as we wanted to be in building 11.
The pool set up is nice. 4 pools - a kids [... read more]pool that is clearly suited to smaller children. A large and quiet pool that was amazing for relaxing and just "chilling out by the pool". The main "party" pool with the swim up bar was where we ended up most of the time on resort as the bartenders were AMAZING. they remember your name, they welcome you and they made everyone feel welcome and special. I have a lot of stories about the people who we talked to who absolutely loved the bartending teams. Gustavo was my personal favorite - an amazing bartender with a seemingly endless number of drinks he could create!
I have read all the reviews about people not getting chairs around the pools and will admit that if you show up at 1PM it can be a challenge. I have been to many resorts and the normal chair reserving happens - it always does and is something you just have to accept at all inclusive resorts. I will say that I was able to get chairs for all 4 of our group every day without any problems - granted - I am an early riser and had my pick each day - but there were still a LOT of open chairs later in the morning. Do not worry about the reviews complaining about no chairs - they are there just liker every other resort. The entertainment staff was GREAT. We didn't spend a lot of time over at the adults pool - but the time we were there was excellent.
Same thing about the issues with reservations for the restaurants. they have an app you can log into and it goes live at 10AM. if you want a particular time and restaurant - you need to be ready at 10AM to log in and use the service - it is VERY easy to do. IF you are not good with an app on your phone they have guest services available to help you get your reservation... it is a very nice set up. The food at the restaurants was very good. I am a fan of Japanese food so I loved that restaurant but all of them were very good and had excellent selections. The buffet was very good as well - changing selections, hot and fresh stations, and well organized. One suggestion I have for the management team at the resort is to open Mikes Coffee Shop a little earlier. there was normally a line up and that could have been avoided if they open a bit earlier... but the coffee selection (hot and cold) were excellent as were the cookies, muffins, banana bread and sandwiches! NOTE - If you are looking for Michelin 5* restaurants - this is not it.... they are very good and I thoroughly enjoyed it, but have reasonable expectations of an all inclusive resort and you wont be disappointed.
Room we had was room 11304. Recently renovated, great view of garden and ocean, close to amenities, clean and fresh. Again - All you can ask for at a resort.
Only reason I rated the beach/pool as a 4 is the beach was nearly unusable due to Sargassum wees and while that is not the resorts fault, it took away from the beach options. Location is about an hour walk (actually a very nice and safe walk) from town and we enjoyed walking around and enjoying some local restaurants.
I truly enjoyed the resort.... Staff is amazing - the grounds are well maintained and the whole vacation was a real success

Dreams Riviera Cancun: Wedding Factory
The Dreams resort has amazing restaurants, probably the best we've ever experienced. The room was clean and well kept and having our own personal plunge pool on our deck was amazing. The beach was really good but unfortunately was over whelmed with sea grass, making it virtually unswimable. It did not have enough chairs and umbrellas on the beach at all, so mildly frustrating. What was truly annoying and disturbing, was being sidelined almost every single day because of weddings. Being pushed aw[... read more]ay from your pool lounge chair, so the crews could set up a wedding. Listening to workers push cart after cart after cart of tables, chairs and stuff for weddings. Having to squeeze onto crowded and limited pool space.... because of another wedding. Trying to find a quiet spot to relax was almost impossible because of all the wedding stuff. In my opinion, the resort marginalized regular resort goers to profit from all these weddings. The resort does not have enough physical space to allow for so many weddings and still have regular guests. I would not recommend this resort for that reason alone.

Blue Bay Grand Esmeralda: Average resort
The hotel is starting to show signs of neglect. All buildings are in need of new thatched roofs or as a minimum, patches. Many fridges don’t work, fixtures are rusting and showing signs of age, water pressure is poor at best, elevators don’t work and rooms are in need of paint. Our room was not very clean either.
The good news is that the beds are comfortable, rooms are spacious, staff are wonderful, and the pool is large enough to hold a lot of guests. The food is good. Entertainment is ave[... read more]rage.
While the beach is nice, there is little to no shade and serious lack of lounge chairs. I have no idea where the photo on the side of this review came from as there are no structures with shade.
Overall, this resort is average and will start having return guests in a year or two.

Food and restaurants are outstanding, great variety and super tasty.
Just a note that resort is a bit far away from airport and it is also confusing on arrival in airport.
Other than that it was amazing vacation. Room keepers and staff extremely hard working people and keeping all running super smoothly. We had magical vacation !!!

It was good, just don’t go during US spring break. The hallways were loud and the front desk did nothing to help with this even though we called several times. I wouldn’t recommend this resort at this time of year, even though their website explicitly states “no spring breakers”, this is not true.

Las Brisas Huatulco: Nice beaches!
My husband and I recently had the pleasure of staying at the resort, and overall we were happy with our experience. Initially, we encountered a few issues, but the staff worked diligently to resolve them promptly, allowing us to settle in and enjoy our vacation.
The resort offered a wonderful stay, and we appreciated the flexibility to book dinners at various restaurants anytime we asked.
Our favorites were the Steakhouse, where we enjoyed the rib eye steak (and avocado appies were a delight[... read more]ful surprise), and the Mediterranean seafood restaurant, where the limoncello - tiramisu dessert was a highlight.
We stayed at the resort for 10 days, and the food in the main buffet was just okay. We wished they'd offer more fresh fish and chicken options on the grill. Maybe that's something to consider for future menus! One highlight was the grilled octopus—it was cooked to perfection and absolutely yummy!
At Las Brisas, the ocean and beaches were spectacular and we didn’t go in the pool at all. The beaches were clean and shallow and the water was calm most of the time, making it perfect for swimming. We weren't pool people, but the ocean was perfect, and we loved that we never had trouble finding a spot to relax.
Kudos to the beach staff for their great service—bottled water was served early mornings, making it easy to stay refreshed, and drinks were served starting at 11:00 am daily.
We loved the grounds; the vegetation is beautiful! The resort is huge, and there is plenty of walking involved if you are looking to stay active. However, they offer transportation via small carts, which was a lifesaver. We loved strolling to the buffet for breakfast and then heading straight to the beach. By the afternoon, however, we'd usually hop on one of those carts to escape the heat—perfect for lazy days.
Also, our room had the best views straight to the ocean, we couldn't ask for more! The bed was comfortable, but the pillows were too high for our taste. The staff were able to swap them out and offered us a few options.
Like anywhere it depends on your expectations. We chose this resort because of its wonderful beaches.
Our suggestion for improvement would be the bar area where guests gathered after dinner, was small, and it was challenging to find a sofa or chair to relax and socialize with fellow travelers. More seating in this area would be great.
A big thank you to all the staff for making our stay comfortable and memorable. We would recommend the resort to friends and family!

Catalonia Grand Costa Mujeres: Food allergy alert
The resort itself was nice and clean however, if you have any food allergies beware. My husband has a food allergy to mushrooms and even after informing both the hostess and server in 2 different restaurants on the resort he was still given dishes that contained mushrooms. We reported this to guest services who did nothing other than apologize. I told them that this was very serious and a report should be filed as this could potentially be a life threatening mistake but they didn't seem too c[... read more]oncerned. Secrets Huatulco: Guaranteed great weather and great service - finishings need refreshing top to bottom
We stayed for 2-weeks Feb 26-Mar 12 and it was scorching hot every day and it why we went that far south. Service from all departments was excellent, and we did not find the Hyatt Vacation Club sales team overly pushy. The staff here make the difference. Almost every accommodation was made to try and deliver a great client experience. The resort is tired in terms of its conditions and needs serious attention which has been well covered. The buffet food is tasty but with so many options prep[... read more]ared ahead of time, often is lukewarm, even the coffee, except at Coco Cafe where it was piping hot. Our main disappointment was the absence of no-smoking rule enforcement. Swim-out suite guests along our building were chain smoking on their patio as were other guests around the community pools despite no smoking policies in place. Yes, we could have spoken to the guests directly or complained to management, and they would have addressed it, but we simply felt the management should be take steps to enforce their policies without being prompted so as to ensure a great customer experience for everyone. Can't beat the heat!

Catalonia Grand Costa Mujeres: Beautiful resort
We liked the tropical grounds, the different pools, the relatively compact layout of the resort, the food and service at buffet and restaurants. Privileged access to Bloved restaurant for breakfast, lunch and dinner was really enjoyable. The long beach was good for walks. We noticed very little cigarette smoke within the resort, only a little at the beach, which was good.
The resort does not provide detailed descriptions of room types, in particular the location of each category of room. We o[... read more]nly learned upon checking in that all Privileged Suites are located on the ground floor on the North side of building 1 and a few in building 4, none of which are close to the Privileged area of beach or Pure Chill bar, which doesn't make sense. Although initially given a room on level 0 in building 1, the farthest from the area we wanted, that room did have a separate living area, i.e. a Privileged Suite as described on their website. We agreed to move the next day to a room on level 1, building 3, facing the pool. We liked the location but the room was one large room with no separate living area. We were told this was also a Privileged Suite which contradicted what we were told at check-in.
Overall, we liked this resort very much and would likely return.
