This is our 2nd visit to this Hotel. 1st since the reno. I really didn't appreciate the changes. we had great weather but the tides were too big and the beach could not be enjoyed. because of this the poolside was completely jammed. The plan of 'one sitting' , 'first come first service' at the restaurants with a 6:30 pm opening was horrible. Only had on meal at one restaurant on a 3 night stay. They should go back to taking reservations. The feel of lining up for dinner doesn't enhance you[... read more]r vacation experience.on the positive side the staff are amazing. this is a place for a quick visit and limit your expectations. PIck an Oceanfront room - we had this and it was the best part of the short trip. #disappointed overall.

Riu Palace Paradise Island: SHORT BUT SWEET GETAWAY
We really enjoyed our second visit to this property and were wowed by the transformation. Food was excellent, ALL staff were friendly and helpful and although the hotel is not entirely responsible for guest behaviour, we were pleased at how pleasant and respectful most people were. This is a small property with a lot of things going on in a small space which felt a bit cramped at times. The beach swimming area was closed due to conditions a couple of days we were there, which made the pool a[... read more]rea more congested. The swim up bar could also use a few less ice cubes in it. We would for sure return to this property if our travel days were limited.

Riu Palace Paradise Island: Great resort
Nice hotel, recently renovated- looks great. Great location, beautiful beach. Great service and food. All the a la carte restaurants are first come first served but we never had an issue getting a seat and the food was great. Everything was always very clean from the room to the restaurants and all around the hotel. I felt very safe venturing out of the resort on my own. I would definitely recommend the resort and would go back!

Viva Wyndham Fortuna Beach: Amazing resort
Our experience was perfect.
We got to eat 4 nights in a la cart restaurants so food was good and always available for your convenience.
Entertainment was the best. Lots of fun and professional. For both kids and adults and all throughout the day.
Rooms were good and bartenders super nice too. Loved our time at the beach right off our room and loved the view everyday to the ocean.
Would recommend it.

Riu Palace Paradise Island: Okay
Hated the quotas in the restaurant.
New renovations look great.
Do not understand why they dragged a guy through the lobby and did not call the police,
Bartenders were great. Front desk staff were rude.

Riu Palace Paradise Island: Beautiful beach!
Beach and pools are gorgeous and most staff very accommodating. Room was comfortable and clean. Buffet food was good and had a variety.
Specialty restaurants were impossible to get into and poorly managed. Food in specialty restaurants was poor.
There was also a sewer smell in the hotel throughout our stay.

Warwick Paradise Island: Small resort!
This resort was previously a hotel, it's clean, and the staff are friendly! This is the least expensive of the the limited all inclusives in Bahamas. I recommend going on opentable.com and booking dinner reservations for the a la carte restaurants, otherwise you may get a very late dinner if you wait in line (the day of). The Italian and seafood restaurant amazing!
The private beach, wasn't really a beach as it's near a harbour but water is great. However a quick 3 minute drive takes you to [... read more]Cabbage beach, although your provided a light snack and drink, I recommend you eat at the resort.
All drinks were amazing, and the outdoor dj was good. Great pool, large chess area, and billards table outside.
We found the water in our washroom tasted/smelt like a burnt match. But that may be normal in the Bahamas.
The nightlife aka the Junkanoo room aka club wasn't the greatest however their lives band shows and salsa dancers were amazing!
Overall a good resort, as there is no such thing as perfect vacay! We did a girls trip and found during the week it was more of an older crowd - but your company is what counts ;)

Riu Palace Paradise Island: NICE STAY AT THE RIU
Enjoyed our stay in the Bahamas RUI Hotel
we went from Feb 18-25/2018 the temp was perfect 28-30 every day
nice clean neat hotel and grounds
service was very good as was the food
only issue was they don't take reservations for the four restaurants . as their limited seating makes it tough to get in unless you want to stand in line for one hour or more for dinner
other than that we enjoyed it alot

Riu Palace Paradise Island: Superb Hotel & Staff
The Riu Palace could not have been any better. We requested an early check in time and that was granted. The food in the buffet changed every evening and contained all the foods that we would have wanted. They even had ice cream outside that we could access from the stairs to the beach. The pools were clean and great temperatures. The bartenders were pleasant and so was the entire staff. They were always asking us how we were doing and were we enjoying our stay. We loved the coffee bar when it w[... read more]as open and when not, the Calypso was always there. Since the hotel is right on the beach it made it very convenient to access and to replenish food or drinks. However, the best, had to be the jerk chicken by the pool. It was awesome. We were very pleased with our choice to stay at this hotel.

Riu Palace Paradise Island: It's better in the Bahamas!
We loved our stay at the Riu Palace Paradise Island. The accommodations were great, food was amazing, staff were very friendly (shout out to Kisha at the front desk!) Beach was beautiful. Our only complaint would be that it would be nice if things like kayaking, paddle boarding etc were offered.

Stayed at the newly renovated Riu on paradise island in the Bahamas last weekend. Staff and service were amazing!!!! Rooms spotless, food great. Found the buffet cold food more often than not,but great tasting. Beach was clean and well staffed with helping carry chairs. Only downfall for me was when Sunwing picked us up for departing flight 4 hrs before when there was nothing to do at airport. Long wait. Island Seas Resort: Very Sad
First of all this review is in no way a reflection on the service provided by tripcentral.ca. As I found Julie to be extremely helpful & professional in everyway. This review is about Island Seas Resort and Sunwing whom I will be writing a letter to and coping Julie at tripcentral.ca.
I chose to go to Grand Bahamas for 2 reasons 1st the location is close & not a 5 hour flight, 2nd I have never been there and do have plans to bring clients to the Bahamas for a sailing charter, so I was not only [... read more]there to relax but do a little research.
Upon arrival at the airport the sunwing line was extremely large with people going to many Caribbean destinations, very disorganized. Then we where approached by a rep & offered to pay an upgrade of $30.00 each to get out of the line up and speed through check out, which we did. Once we where at check in & placed our carry ons on the scale we where told that they had to be checked, as we where already checking 1 bag I had to pay an additional $34.00 for the checked bag. I have always traveled with my carry-on and it has never been a problem before? More of a money grab.
The flight was fast and uneventful the service onboard was slow and the staff uninterested as I requested a glass of water I never received.
The transfer to the resort was ok but we where left waiting with 4 other people for the second van load to go to the resort.
Once we got to the resort we had to wait with many other people in the lobby to go to guest services, who where friendly and asked if we had a preference on a room which I said we would like to be on the ground floor in front of the hot tub in the marina view middle building. At that time we where told that check in began at 4:00pm, I pointed out our paperwork stated 3:00pm & was told that was a mistake. They said we could store our luggage and change & where welcome to explore the property, which we did as it was 10:00am. We walked to the Marina which is not much of a Marina at all with the exception of the 47ft power cat owned by the resort developer. But we could see the unit we requested was empty and no cleaning staff around. We then walked the beach & went for lunch. At 2:00pm as the other couple Mr & Mrs Freeman where already in there room since 12:30pm I asked if our room was ready & told no it needed to be cleaned. As no one at the front desk had name tags on I can not provide you a name. So again we walked to the requested room and no one was there and peeked in the window and it seemed ready. While this continued every 40 mins even with us offering to help clean the room. They just kept putting our paper work to the bottom of the pile! And left us sitting outside without as much as a bottle of water or a complimentary rum punch. By now another tour company had arrived and more line up, until I got a little forceful with them & they finally started to check us in totally disregarding our requested room. As this was unacceptable I stated that and they gave us the empty room 1075 at 4:45pm. We lost an entire day! And I had a headache from the stress!
Once we where in the room the queen bed was a double so sharing was out of the question so I opened the pull out and the mattress was very thin & old so I called the front desk requesting a douvet to place on top of it as well as sheets, blankets, pillows a coffee maker, frying pan, basket & kettle. I told them there where no screens on the windows & the room had a funny smell. They sent some stuff over and the front desk called and offered us a complimentary breakfast the next morning which I replied while that was kind & we would take it they should also comp our dinner tonight. I was told Miss Lynn the manager would get back to me. We unpacked and went to the hot tub it was dirty and not working. As we lost a day & not able to go grocery shopping we went for dinner to an empty restaurant Grape Sea & asked if we had a reservation which we did not but they so kindly seated us. We ordered and service was so slow and my headache so bad I left Catherine there & ask she bring my dinner back as I had to go & lye down, she had a headache as well so she got them to package the food and came back to the room. We both went to bed with headaches at 8:30pm. I was sound a sleep when I was startled by noise at 10:00pm by someone trying to break into our room. I yelled at them and they left.
The next morning Sunday Feb 11/18 at 7:00am I went to the front desk and found the lady who had been so unhelpful the day before there. I asked for the breakfast comp tickets and they were not there? So I waited for the coffee shop to open at 7:30am & bought here a tea & gave it to her and introduced myself and got her name Dezie and explained while I did understand she had a lot to deal with as the front line person I had some concerns and told her about the attempted break in and the smell and the missing items and the unacceptable pull out as well as the broken lock on the front door the missing safe key, the broken fan in the bathroom as I was keeping notes. She sent some over to check the door lock & fan & at that time I requested they bring in another double bed for me to sleep on as there was more than enough room in the living room for it. The handyman went for some tools and never retuned. Again more of nothing rush and wait, so we went grocery shopping by cab. I had to meet our Sunwing rep at 12:00pm whom we did meet Tiffany and started to explain our story and asked her to advocate for us & move us to a 2 bedroom in the same building 1068. We even took her to our room to see that there was mold in the ceiling which again was giving us a headache. She did work very hard with the hotel staff to come up with a solution. But we meet a cleaner who also works as a painter there and he told us that most of the marina view units have not been redone and mold was an issue. There where cleaning 1068 so we went in and it had been re done and was more than acceptable. But the front desk stated that we had request that room so they would not but us into a 2 bedroom unit unless we paid $100.00 a night more which our friends had paid $100.00 in total to upgrade to a ocean view. So not acceptable to me, nor was there any value in spending another $700.00 USD. So after that they sent us to check out no less than 4 mold infected rooms which we declined. It was not until well after 3:30pm that they decided to upgrade us to unit 3011 Ocean view, which we checked out and no smell & clean. So we went back packed up not only our personal items but all the grocery's then waited for the bellman to help which took forever so I ended up starting to walk things to the lobby. By then he arrived and was very helpful. By the time we got settled in it was well after 6:00pm again another day lost! We ate and relaxed and went to bed. In the middle of the night my friend Catherine was ill with vomiting & diarrhea which lasted Feb 12 & 13. Due to her health issues of an immune disorder breathing mold & the stress really made her ill. As it turned out the evening of Feb 13/18 I started with the vomiting through the entire night. So all in all from Feb 14-16 we did have a chance to relax & take in some sun as well as tour the island with our friend by renting a car. But over all the disappointment of the conditions in which this resort is in is very unacceptable. I understand that Mathew 2016 did a lot of damage to this island and the people are trying to recover but without tourist dollars that is impossible. The fact the this is an ideal location on the beach with amenities should help. But the fact that the units are old is acceptable but they are neglected is not acceptable. I am an interior designer and know that for a little money I could work wonders on the units to update them. The mold building should be worked on like the ocean view building. It is such a shame that the Canadian Owner has such low expectations and while they fly our flag they treat us like dirt. Yet they continue to sell timeshare for $15,000.00 a week plus $785.00 maintenance fee which is not reflected in the property. So all in all our 7 day winter escape turned into a 3 day mini holiday very sad.
Note the only way I would return to this location was if I had room 3011 and our friends where in room in the double room 2 doors down, due to the fact the amount we paid was very reasonable & included the flight. But check in would have to pre-arranged as not to lose a day

Sandals Royal Bahamian: More Than Expected Loved It !!
Just spent 10 days at the Royal Bahamian it was amazing. We had a beachfront walkout with Butler service and I must say it would be hard to travel now without that service. Our butlers Daren, Christopher and Sheldon were great and made a huge impact on our overall experience. These rooms were perfect close to the beach with gorgeous views. Restaurants were very good. Had the lobster at Spices three times. Hoping to go back to this wonderful resort.
A special thanks to Julie at Tripcentral.ca [... read more]for being so helpful and attentive through the whole process.

Riu Palace Paradise Island: Amazing resort
Love the pool, room and staffs are very polite and friendly. I recombined this hotel to all my friends. Rooms are very clean. I let bed my room which was ocean and pool view. People who were there as a guest were high class people. I didn’t sea any low class there.
