Dreams Huatulco: Love this resort, except....

All great, except one thing - which we felt important. People were allowed to basically send someone out at 5am to reserve maybe 6 prime chairs (with umbrellas) around the pools, or on the beach. These were then unavailable to anyone else for the entire day. Same people holding the same chairs - every day, all week. The resort needs to fix this, or we will not be back.

Dreams Dominicus La Romana: Excellent Resort

Excellent Resort! Spacious rooms, beautiful beach and pools. Service was excellent from the restaurants and bars. Only downfall was the buffet had limited options compared to other resorts (in my opinion); however the a la carte restaurants made up for it.

Hyatt Vivid Punta Cana: Absolutely Incredible

The grounds are meticulously tended. The beach is continuously tidied of anything that is washed in or left on the sand. The lobby is warm and inviting with tropical ambiance. The rooms are a bit dated, though well cleaned. The beds are comfortable. The closet space is small. However, with the natural beauty of the resort we rarely spent time inside. But at home we cook and clean, and our every wish is not answered. It makes returning home difficult and we dream to return already though it's been less then a week.

Dreams Dominicus La Romana: Overall review

Hi, - Staff: very friendly and nice, but generally speaking on "island time", sometimes no follow-ups on requests - Meals & food: overall very average for main packages with limited choices, sometimes a little sub-part (poor). Preferred club had better quality food, but only near the preferred reception, far from the beach. - Beach: excellent water, really appealing. Much better than Punta Cana. Dreams Aventuras Riviera Maya: Heaven on Earth but smokers beware!

We only get away to the sun every two years. When we do we want a smallish resort and a calm beach. We want coffee in our room. Dreams Puerto Aventuras certainly seemed to fulfill all our needs. Dreams Puerto Aventuras gets its highest accolades for its staff, and deservedly so. We wish we had better memories for names, but we will say almost without exception the staff went well out of their way for us and made us feel incredibly welcome. Along with many, many more staff whose names we unfortunately cannot remember: thank you so much for making our stay so wonderful. Our room was nice but we had next to no drawers, shelves or hangers on which to put our clothes and ended up with all our suitcases open on the floor. No robes or slippers, no remote for the TV. I’m sure those would have been provided had we asked but we really could have cared less so we didn’t. We’re not fussy eaters. We’re not big on sushi or Mexican, couldn’t be bothered to dress up for Italian, but quite enjoyed the fare at the Oceana and the Seaside Grill. We never came away from the buffet disappointed. The CoCo Café is a really nice touch and was very much appreciated. The rest of this review concerns those of us who still smoke. I know there are fewer and fewer of us every year but we still exist. If you really don’t want smokers at your resorts perhaps this should be stressed on the many, many websites advertising them and singing their praises! We met many other guests who (along with us) were very surprised to have to sign a form at registration agreeing not to smoke on our balconies. Most smokers would like to have a cigarette along with their coffee out on their balcony before heading out for the day. It’s the only reason we look for resorts that have coffee machines in their rooms. On top of that Dreams Puerto Aventuras only has four designated smoking areas. Only one has more than two seats, only one shaded, none protected from the rain. If you’re not the least bit interested in our comfort perhaps you should plainly tell us upfront and let us choose someplace else.

Wyndham Alltra Punta Cana: Awesome family resort!

Very clean,food was really good, beach and pool were excellent! Good choice of food close to beach and the amazing pool! Entertainment staff were very good, during the day and in the evening. They sure did it up right for the Super Bowl!

Hyatt Vivid Punta Cana: Exceeded my expectations

I have been to punta Cana before and I wasn’t to thrilled but Dreams palm beach was a nice smaller resort that was very clean and the staff were amazing. Highly recommend this resort if you like smaller resorts. No reservations required for any of the 5 restaurants. Sea side grill had very good steak and seafood. Transportation to and from resort was very good. Only thing I didn’t like was no live entertainment in the main lobby and the pressure to sit through a time share presentation. Dreams Dominicus La Romana: Beautiful Resort

Had a wonderful week here. Friendly staff, grounds were very well maintained, clean & well taken care of. Food and restaurants were great. Only complaint, and it's very minor, is trying to get towels each day (pools/beach) was difficult. Often ran out quite early on and didn't restock very often.

Dreams Tulum Resort and Spa: Great Resort

We had a beautiful suite with a great view of the garden. Bed was super comfy. The spa and gym were good. The beach was well kept. Staff were very attentive. There was some maintenance that needs to be done but nothing major. Close to a lot of excursions. I would go back

Dreams Aventuras Riviera Maya: Pleasant relaxing resort

The hotel was very good--not new but met all our needs. Air conditioning good. There was alit of moisture in the air that left clothes feeling damp. Entertainment every night that met each age groups needs. Restaurants very good! They were able to accommodate my daughters gluten allergy. Staff pleasant and helpful. Lots oof free water sports. Beach area mod size. Enclosed in with partial barriers to control waves. I would have preferred a larger open beach.

Wyndham Alltra Punta Cana: Wonderful relaxing week

The grounds were beautiful and impeccably kept. Pool was great and very short distance to the ocean. Food was excellent, the rooms need to be updated but were still very comfortable. We had asked effulgence time in our mini honeymoon moon with our daughter . Everything was in short walking distance. We would go back!:)

Dreams Riviera Cancun: Terrible Experience

We had problems right from the start of the vacation……We were here celebrating our 12 years together so some what of a romantic vacation. We where sent to room 2217 the room was ok at the start we were not happy that there were 2 double beds as we had requested a king size bed, but we thought no worries this we can over look so we were excited to begin our vacation…..so we turned the air conditioner on to 18.5 as we like our room to be a little on the colder side when we are sleeping and g [... read more]etting ready. We headed out to have a look around and get something to eat. We got back to the room and the temperature did not move it was at 25.5. We called down to the front desk to get someone up to the room to look and they came up had a look and said it’s working so we thought ok great……we woke up in the middle of the night and it was still at 25.5 nothing had changed…..it was so hot in there we actually had to open the balcony to let the cool wind in so we could sleep. We went back to the front desk in the morning and explained the situation and had asked to be moved…….they said no worries we will send someone to have a look so back to the room we went and waited and waited finally someone came and again took a look and said it was working?? We thought ok lets go and get something to eat and come back to see if it is working. Once again it was still at 25.5. by this time we were starting to get mad as no one could seem to fix it and they never offered to move us like we had asked. So again we called down to the front desk and said it’s still not working…….so again they said they would send someone. So we waited AGAIN wasting more time of our vacation finally the same guy came did the same thing NOTHING and said its working by this time we were getting frustrated but thought lets get out to the pool and try and enjoy what was left of the day. We get back to our room and the temperature was still the same 25.5. By this time we are getting frustrated called again and the same guy came and check and asked us to wait he would call the room and get a supervisor to come so we stayed in the room and NO ONE CAME another night wasted waiting for someone. The next morning we called to let them know that we waited all night and no call or no one came……so they asked us what temperature we would like it set to we told them again we like to have it at 18.5, he said ok no worries it will be set to that. So we finally went out to enjoy our day as we had already missed out on 2 days of this. When we got back to the room it was still the same 25.5. By this time we are so mad but thought forget it what a waste of time. The next day we had met a couple and they had asked us how we liked the resort. We had mentioned the room and the that the air conditioner wasn’t working……they asked us what room we were in and we told them 2217. She laughed and told us that they were in that room when they first got there a week ago and had asked to move as they were having problems as well. Now this made me really upset as we wasted 3 days of vacation trying to get this fixed and you guys knew it was broken yet lied to us. So we went back to the front desk and said what the couple had told us and finally they agreed to move us. The new room was good still 2 double beds but the air conditioner was working so we were happy……we went out and enjoyed the rest of our day. Once we got back to the room we noticed a lot of noise coming form above, we didn’t really think to much as we thought the people were just loud but this was not the case it appeared that there was some construction going on which started very early in morning and went on very late it was constant banging and sounded like moving furniture. This started at 6:30 am and went till way past 11 pm EVERYDAY. So between the construction and the kids running up and down the hallway screaming and playing starting at 6:30 am we did not get much sleep or relaxation. We know that you can not control the kids as the parents should be parenting their own children but the kids were terrible……we were on our chairs by the pool and there were kids jumping on our loungers and our table while we were sitting there…….it was ridiculous everything got soaking wet from them it was terrible. We were told that one restaurant was closed everyday which was fine however this was not the case…..we tried the Mexican restaurant twice and both times it was closed. There was so many weddings there and so many areas blocked off it was terrible……I understand that weddings are there but you should not be blocking things off for the rest of the guests. We also had a soft football for the pool to toss around which we did the whole vacation except for the second last day we were told no throwing the football in the pool……how does that even work??? We had been using it the whole time……it made no sense to me and then about an hour later they had a football game in that same pool??? I have been to Dreams in Huatulco and loved it there. We have also been to Breathless in Cancun and Breathless in Punt Cana and both places were amazing. We are very disappointed with our whole vacation experience at this resort. We travel every year to an all inclusive resort and have never had these issues.

Dreams Playa Mujeres Golf and Spa: Amazing!

Great resort, beautifully kept. Pools and beach are lovely. Good for food allergies. Good variety of food, very good service with friendly staff. Desserts could be a bit better, but gelato made up for it. Overall great family vacation.

Dreams Aventuras Riviera Maya: Great trip and awesome service.

We appreciated the family atmosphere and activities this resort provided. The family pool was heated and close to the ocean and rooms. The restaurants were all within a good distance and provide a selection that kept us satisfied for 9 days. The area outside the resort was safe for our young family to walk or rent a golf cart from the hotel. Kids were entertained by activities, including daily dolphin shows.

Dreams Aventuras Riviera Maya: Great trip, okay resort

Mexico = awesome, resort = just okay. There was some great things about this resort that we loved but I think the cons weighed out the benefits. Pros: 1. Amazing and friendly staff who actually remember you and take time to chat with you. 2. They had daily dolphin shows. 3. There was a rock barrier on a part of the beach which blocked off predator fish so smaller fish would stay in there giving you the opportunity to swim with fish. 4. They had a bar on the side of the ocean with s [... read more]wings - enough said! 5. Mexican food in room service or in Mexican restaurant was really food. Cons: 1. Rooms were damp and musty, they smelled bad, lamp shades were rusted, sitting on furniture you would get up and your bum would be wet. We complained after two days and they brought a dehumidifier which we appreciate but it only helped so much. We had paid extra for preferred club so I also do feel like we should have been more accommodated then just being given a dehumidifier. 2. Beds were small and uncomfortable, the rooms with a king size bed were sold out so we got a room with two queens but they weren’t queens they were twins and the bed were hard, the pillows were like bricks. 3. The resort was run down, elevators needing maintenance daily. Lights often didn’t work, at one point the lights didn’t work in the room and they spent an hour fixing it. They shower head often wouldn’t work, had to play around with it for 20 mins to get a shower, we didn’t complain about this because we honestly were getting tired of having to complain and waiting around to get things fixed. 4. Disorganized - bars that were supposed to be open until 11pm would close randomly at 6pm for no reason. There aren’t many bars to begin with so this was really annoying. They also don’t really have a good spot to hold events so they would hold them at the oceanic restaurant which was next to the adults pool and bar so that means Tuesday and Friday’s they would close this at 4pm. That also means if you want to see the show you have to eat at the oceanic restaurant (and if you want a guaranteed seat you need to buy a bottle of wine). On Tuesday when they had one show they would close the buffet and on Fridays for the other show they would close the Mexican restaurant so if you had no interest in the show that means 2/5 restaurants for dinner weren’t an option. It may seem like a small thing but when your paying for an all inclusive resort with 5 restaurants you want all the options available to you. Especially if you end up not liking one of the restaurants. 5. Very small beach. 6. Besides the Mexican food the other food was not great, not bad but not really good. While I really enjoyed my time and appreciate the staffs friendly outgoing attitude I think they need to get better management and give the whole place a renovation to address these issues. I wouldn’t recommend this place.

Hyatt Vivid Punta Cana: Amazing service

We couldn't say enough about the staff at Dreams Palm Beach. They are not only friendly and outgoing but go out of their way to ensure that your stay with them is memorable. This resort is one of the smallest we have been to but it lacked for nothing. The food is very good in both the buffet and restaurants and since we stay in the Preferred Club we had access to the adult only pool which was nice after the end of the day spent on the beach. Dreams Aventuras Riviera Maya: Above Average Service

As return customers to the Dreams chain we were excited to visit despite some less than positive reviews. Turns out some of the negativity was warranted. Keeping in mind this is the oldest resort in the dreams chain most drawbacks were made up for with exemplary service and attention to detail. This resort is definitely showing its age as the rooms are musty and in poor shape but very clean. Giuliano with the VIP Club was amazing as well, so helpful. It turned out to be a great vacation with the help of these key people, they more than made up for any shortcomings the hotel had. Would I return here probably not unless the pricing was adjusted to reflect the state of the resort. My bottom line here is that the resort needs a very strong investment by the AM Group or to be sold off to another chain.

Dreams Riviera Cancun: One of the best I have been at.

Loved the size not to big. Everything close. Very clean and great staff. A great variety of food at buffet with great service. Being close to the airport is one of the reasons we chose it. The fact that the children were not allowed in the hot tub was disappointing. It was a cool week and every time they went a staff member would ask them to leave. These kids were raised with a hot tub at home so with adult supervision the hotel should allow children access to it.

Wyndham Alltra Punta Cana: Great Family Resort, Awesome for Weddings

The hotel is spotless clean, public bathrooms have cloth towels as well as nicely perfumed toilet paper, always clean. The food - great variety of food in the main buffet, freshly made juices - your choice of fruits; crepes station; meats station, pizza station, eggs station, amazing bakery station, etc, etc, etc. You will Never go hungry!!! Food is really delicious in each and every restaurant! The pool is sparking clean! The beach is clean with beautiful sand. The service is awesome - everyone is smiling, always happy to serve you, to bring you food, refresh your glass, etc. AMAZING Coco Cafe - 24 hours cafe with fresh delicious muffins, cakes, cookies. The ladies at the Coco Cafe are WONDERFUL!!! They have an awesome selection of cold and hot coffee drinks, Coffee is BETTER than STARBUCKS! The kids club - clean, friendly, lots of toys, excellent location, amazing ship with water pool for kids. Highly recommend this place for families! THANK YOU TO ALL THE STAFF FOR A GREAT SERVICE!

Dreams Huatulco: Just Okay

POSITIVES: A great location, as it’s right down on the beach, unlike many other hotels in the area which are higher up on hills. Excellent staff, particularly the housecleaning staff, Irlanda in the Mezcalaria bar, and Daniela who is part of the concierge team. The hotel is clean, airy & well kept. Pools, grounds, and restaurants are extremely well maintained. We liked the room, bed, bathroom & spaciousness. NEGATIVES: The food. Not good. It’s not what we have experienced in other resorts of this rating. Bland, dull and not much variety each day in the buffets. Entertainment: No cultural Mexican entertainment whatsoever! We've come for a Mexican experience. A rock band by the pool played LOUD music which caused us to leave the hotel. Nightly shows are a bit dated. Not much variety. This is a party hotel. It’s very noisy at night. There isn’t anywhere to go in the evenings inside the hotel that is quiet. On weekends there are weddings, karaoke in the lobby/bar, and loud bands playing in the lobby bar. No feeling of tranquility here. Note to the Management: There are clients who vacation who want peace & tranquility. Please consider us too!
