Ocean Eden Review From The FANTASTIC FiVE - this is a long review but worth reading! Girls trip 2023 !! Had a blast !! Overall we will definitely return. We arrived on my birthday and let me tell you, it was an entire week of celebration! WHY we WILL RETURN: ENTERTAINMENT! Blue Team were amazing from water aerobics, Jamaican dance lessons, Pool Foam Party ,Bob Marley Tribute Dinner Show , Jamaican Dance Show , Silent Dance Party just to name a few there was always something going on. D [... read more]emeil, Rosbel and Mr Fresh were great. They spent a lot of time touching base with us individually to ensure we were having a great time! FOOD and PEOPLE! A wide variety of food available at the Captains Quarters Buffet. The people working in the buffet made our day special EVERYDAY! To name a few - Cajay, Althea,Shekera and Tocaya with their amazing smiles. We saw Cajay run over to another restaurant to get us cherries that we requested in our drinks. We were fortunate to meet Two of the most Amazing Supervisors Mellonie and Zacharey. Mellonie brought me a special bowl of oatmeal every morning because I can’t eat the sweetened oatmeal provided. Zacharey got us a reservation at the steakhouse when it was all booked up. Ate at La Locanda (Italian) Blue Moon (twice) , Steakhouse , Sugar Cane (West Indies), Sakura(teppanyaki) and frequented Mikes Coffee Bar for lattes and treats. Enjoyed all! Espresso martinis were enjoyed daily at the Lobby bar with our server Alecea who always made us smile. Too many great people to name them all. THE PEOPLE who work at Ocean Eden make this a GREAT PLACE to stay!!! Opportunities for Improvement: No place is perfect and Ocean Eden certainly has some room to improve. One of our rooms was not ready till after 6 pm and we didn’t get the room we booked. We were supposed to get a sofa bed in one room and didn’t get this. The Front Desk staff was not overly helpful. Having said this, she was one of only a few who didn’t try their best to please us. When we approached one of the managers , Earl, our concerns were heard and he compensated us by giving late checkout at no extra charge. 2 of the staff at Guest Services didn’t put much effort into getting us in to the Bob Marley Tribute show. Luckily, our server , Daniel, at Blue Moon , was able to get us a table. Rooms were a great size but lacked attention to detail which is disappointing given this is a new property. The pool did not appear to be cleaned for the entire week, again, disappointing since it is so beautiful. We would expect it to be vacuumed daily since it is heavily used. All in all, a a beautiful property with great entertainment , plenty to do and good food. And I’ll repeat that most of the staff were absolutely amazing and make this resort well worth returning to.

Ocean Eden Bay: Great Resort but Customer Service from staff is MEDIOCRE

Really enjoyed the food, the beach and the resort but staff/reception is very bad with customer service. Issues/complaints don’t get addressed. Supervisor on duty is NEVER available and staff can’t answer basic questions. They pick and choose who to be nice to and get annoyed when they get asked to do stuff. Most of the time they are either on their phones, eating or drinking on the job. If you are OK with figuring things out on your own and not to rely on the staff then you will enjoy your  [... read more]vacation. We would never go back to this resort because of the staff. We had H10 premium but they still didn’t care. Our assigned butler was useless. He couldn’t even bring water and coffee to our room. That’s the type of service we received.

Ocean Blue and Sand: So so resort!

The Resort not too far from the airport, rooms are ample and neat, resort buildings are not too old. However, the hot tub was not working and we asked for repair no body responded. Food was not too bad, desserts could be much better. Dine in restaurants were good in terms of booking. Drinks were not the best. Beach is okay, not too wide, but no seaweed . Pools are well maintained. Resort was not crowded so for us was very convenient.

Ocean Blue and Sand: I am recommending this resort to everyone!

My best friend and I stayed here for a week to celebrate our 30th bdays. The food was insanely delicious, there was seriously no need to explore the restaurants (although out of them all, the Italian one was our fav.) The people were beyond helpful and friendly. The resort grounds were stunning! Clean, modern, trendy aesthetics, and just fabulous. The beach was everything!! White sand, turquoise water. Lots of beach chairs and shaded areas to sit and tan. He was our absolute favourite person there that made our week so fun!! Biggest smile, talented at making drinks and different kinds of shots and just such a friendly gentleman. Go say hi to him!! Special shout out to Manuel at the swim-up pool bar too, he made the best cocktails! We'd often fill up our cups there before heading to the beach because the beach bar just wasn't as great as he was. We had a blast and will definitely be coming back.

Ocean Eden Bay: We loved it!

My husband and I stayed at Ocean Eden Bay May 14-21st for our Honeymoon. Immediately upon telling check-in we were Newlyweds, they sent us to the Privilege desk where we were upgraded to an Ocean Front Room, two butlers, access to the private beach and restaurants, a full breakfast in our room the following morning and a bottle of champagne. They always made sure we good. Roxanne, Hyana and Trey were the greatest bartenders and quickly knew what we liked (they were all good but those three were our favourites). Adrian, at the private beach, was there when we needed him and made sure we had what we needed. The Jamaican Grill was delicious and so were all the restaurants we went to (Steakhouse, Thali, Marlin, both Buffets and both Privilege Lounges). The buffets had a variety and the late night restaurants were great too (Marlin & Route 66). Housekeeping was perfect and our fridge was always stocked. The grounds were always kept clean, staff worked on it every day. The pool was beautiful and there was always something to do (if you wanted to). We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and we were very happy. We would recommend this resort and we would come back again. We would actually like to bring the whole family and stay next door at Ocean Coral Springs.

Ocean Blue and Sand: Mediocre experience

I wanted to love this resort (arrived mid May 2023), but there are things that just made it a bit frustrating and I will not go back. I have also been to a couple of other resorts in the DR (4 and 5 star) and would go back to those. This is the first time I am writing a review on a resort because there are things people need to know about my experience. I want to give a shout out to Bolivar who checked in my friend and I. He was SO great, friendly and deserves a raise. The two pools in the middle of the resort are huge and had great swim up bars. Cons of the resort: All of the restaurants and reception/guest services are at one side of the resort except for the beach restaurant which is open for lunch and a light snack (breakfast at this restaurant is only for "Privilege" guests). This means, if you are at the opposite end of the resort (which I was), you have to walk to eat...and it's a long walk. I have high arches in my feet and if I knew how much I had to walk, I would have specifically brought a pair of sandals that would provide more support to the feet. My feet hurt after a few days and for the rest of the trip. I like walking, so if I had the proper support, I wouldn't have minded it. Therefore, if you are prone to issues with your feet, bring a good pair of shoes! The restaurants that we went to were ok. Nothing stood out, however we didn't get to the Japanese place (which you need reservations for) but heard that was phenomenal. The resorts I have been to, there is always a restaurant or two where you can grab breakfast or lunch that is super casual. Most people go in their swim suit and either put on a shirt with their swim trunks or have a beach cover up. We were told that the beach cover ups we were wearing (I was wearing one where the sleeves came down to my elbows and length was to my knees - slightly see through but I was wearing a one piece swim suit) it was not appropriate and they would let us in this one time. Going forward, I would have to wear some sort of dress or shorts and tank top to be allowed in. I have never had this when going to other resorts. I understand that restaurants you go to dinner, you shouldn't wear a beach cover up with a bathing suit. It was just really irritating because all I had packed were beach cover ups, bathing suits and nice dresses to wear for dinner. What I also found interesting is there was no place to grab food or a snack after 7:30pm. You have to wait until the OverTime Sports bar that starts serving snacks at 11 or 11:30pm (can't quite remember). One of the most frustrating experiences was having to chase staff to get our fridge restocked. The second day, no one restocked our water, alcohol, etc. On the third day, we had to walk over to Reception to inquire and the person said that it's supposed to be restocked everyday and he would have someone do it right away. Thankfully, someone came. However, the next day, no one came again. Between 2:30pm and 11pm, I called Reception/Guest Services 7 times to ask if they can restock our fridge, especially the water. I also walked down to reception at 9:30pm that night because we kept being told someone was coming but no one did. My friend and I finally gave up and had to go the next day to Guest Services and lodge a complaint. We were told that they would make sure someone would come right at 9am. When we got back from breakfast around 9:15am, no one came. We went to the beach and came back around noon - no one was there. I called at noon and then again at 4pm to say someone still hasn't come. Finally, someone came. For the rest of the days we were there, are fridge was restocked except they didn't restock the small vokda, bacardi and rum bottles. I gave up and didn't bother asking about those as it was just taking too much of my time to chase the staff. Overall, my experience was mediocre at this place :(

Ocean Eden Bay: Amazing resort

Just got back from vacation the resort itself is beautiful but here are the negatives. Beach is terrible if you love the ocean this is not the place you need water shoes 100 %. Food could be much better. The only restaurant I find it really good was Marlin and Bluemoon. Amazing service by Daniel . The buffet is hit or miss some days it's ok . If you like partying this is not the resort gorgeous young people. The nightly entertainment was ok but after 10.30 there is not much happening.  [... read more]Overall I expected more. The people are very friendly. Beware of the time share BS. They claim its not a time share but they try to Hassel you yo buy into there membership program.

Ocean Coral Spring: Great Resort

The rooms, building and public space were clean. The grounds could be cleaner. The beach was really bad. It was just a small space to swim and it was full of rocks and weeds. The Restaurants has a good variety of food. Mike's Cafe was the best and staff were really friendly.

Ocean Coral Riviera Cancun: Very nice resort

Very large resort the food was great lots too choose from the staff was amazing from beginning to the end 5 star. Entertainment pool side and our butter to the bartenders were amazing room services incredible the staff went out of the way to help us out for anything. The beach was only thing that was not great to much sargassum but the staff worked hard to try to keep it clean

Ocean Eden Bay: Nice resort

We had a two week vacation at Ocean Eden Bay. Almost everything was perfect. We found the service a bit lacking as well as attentiveness. The beach bar staff were amazing pool bar not so much. Food was excellent entertainment was almost every evening. Although we retired early most evenings there was music everywhere. H10 hotels "bribe" you to pay the extra for "Privilege service" which is not what other resorts do. The extra fee that is asked does not warrant the "privilege". Buyer beware. Ocean Coral Spring: Amazing resort

The grounds are immaculate, rooms are so clean I didn’t need to clean before I lie down .the food was great lots of options…I would suggest upgrading to privilege you won’t regret, tons of activities and endless excursions..definitely going back.

Ocean Coral Spring: Nice family resort

Everything was great, food, pool, kids area, rooms, restaurants. My only complaint; and for me, is a big one...and the only reason why I wouldn't go back to this resort is...the beach is absolutely horrible. it was a family trip, my wife and two kids (4 and 9) we went to the beach the first day and couldn't even walk more than a few feet into the water, the beach was literally all rocks, nowhere to swim, so we were forced to spend every day at the crowded pool. Rooms: nice a little rundown (considering it's a new resort). Service very inconsistent. Short on towels and washcloths. Had to keep on asking to get new ones. The room refrigerator is useless. Doesn't even get cold, the red stripes in the fridge were too warm to drink. Hotel grounds: nice, some renovations going on now. Restaurants: OK, the restaurants and bars kept on running out of food items and alcoholic beverages. Always ran out of shrimp, chicken wings, mangos, bananas, drinking mixin [... read more]g ingredients etc. Beach: HORRIBLE, not swimmable at all. Very rocky, water shoes are a must! You can take a 5 minute drive to a public beach called 876 Beach, it's amazing. There is a fee to enter. Amenities: 1) lazy river-awesome 2) water park - amazing for kids 3) bowling alley - lots of fun 4) Daisy club- not too many activities inside, the outdoor playground really nice, but needs more shade because the slides heat up to the point that they are unusable. 5) teen club- not that many activities available besides pool and tv's to play video games.

Ocean Eden Bay: Good resort

Pros- view,pool and rooms Cons- poor service at the bar (limited drink options). Staff aren’t overly friendly (aside from blue team). It’s too windy to sit at the beach after noon, in the morning no problem. Rap music all day.

Ocean El Faro: Good vacation if you purchase privilege class

Good hotel and food options if you can get a reservation. Restaurants are hard to book and can be frustrating to arrange as it takes alot of negotiation and waiting in lines to get a reservation or waiting in line for first come first served. I would say don't waste your valuable vacation time doing this but the buffet gets repetitive and a change of restaurants is appreciated. The only option you should consider here or any h10 ocean chain resorts is their privilege class. If you came f [... read more]or an all inclusive with no stress, then don't book a non-privilege vacation and feel like a second class citizen being denied restaurant bookings and what they think is top tier liquor.

Ocean Coral Riviera Cancun: Great accessibility for reduced mobility

We just had a wonderful week at the privilege section of ocean coral turquesa puerto Morelos. We were traveling with our 93yr old mother in a wheelchair and it was an exceptional spot. Wheelchair accessible rooms and restaurants; a beautiful walkway along the beach and down to the beach chairs. All the staff in the privilege section were the most friendly and caring we have ever had in a resort. Special shout-out to the breakfast staff at the privilege restaurant and in particular Angel, who mad [... read more]e my mom’s birthday so special; Fermin who saved us from the only bad staff member we came across in the 7 days we were there; Yazmin and Susana “la jefas” that made sure we had everything we needed; and Chef Socorro that cooked the most delicious steak and octopus we’ve had in a long time. Privilege is worth every penny don’t hesitate to take it. Pros, all the staff, the service, accessibility for reduced mobility, and the wonderful butler service (fantastic Alberto) who looked after us as if we were queens. Cons most of the a la carte restaurants are not as good as the Privilege restaurant and the buffet was very very ordinary, the menus in the privilege section did not have not enough variety for 7 days, the privilege pool bar and beach drink service was just plain terrible (only came by twice a day at the beach, took for ever to get the drinks, the drinks are really inconsistent and watered down, always made with cheap liquor, premium bottles are refilled with the cheap stuff - we witnessed this first hand). If you want a well made drink with quality liquor bring your own mug to the privilege restaurant or the lobby bar. Last of the cons is the air transat hotel rep. He was the most condescending arrogant person we have run into in a long time (his first name is Hannibal). He outright refused to give us information unless we sat down and listened to his sale pitch and kept cutting us off to say « no no no ». He kept saying that if we didn’t hear his full pitch we would give him a bad review for not giving us all the info… and here we are. The best part about this hotel is their employees. They made the whole trip!

El Beso Adults Only at Ocean El Faro: Wonderful Resort!!!

This resort won’t disappoint. The rooms are very modern and well laid out. The wicker swinging chair on the balcony/patio is so fun. Only a quick walk to the beach and the el beso section has its own beach bar. Pools are wonderful. Entertainment team is great. The little lagoon to the left of the beach is perfect for swimming and snorkeling. The restaurants are very good. You use an app to book your reservations the day of. The layout of the resort is great. The lazy river is a lot of fun 🤠[... read more]©

Ocean Blue and Sand: Beautiful place.

Very well kept and clean. Quick check in. Very efficient service. Lots of entertainment. Disappointing access to pool umbrellas, people got up early to take all the umbrellas, and then didn’t show up all day to use them.

I went with my 17 yr. old daughter and my God Daughter also almost 18 and her Mom !! They had us roomed right beside each other . Garden view ground floor not great, but who spends alot of time inside, plus we didnt have to use stairs! The entertainment staff was excellent from CardiB to Pokémon! Always trying to get us up dancing they really make the hotel fun! When eating at the buffet there is always good food for all. Room service 2 other evenings as we did 2 excursions and were tired after. Took a bit but worth the wait. Swimming pools, lobby bars made amazing drinks. Beach was very refreshing we went a little later and had no trouble finding chairs. At Reception Jose was very kind to us . Sunwings,,Renaldo helped us with tour booking and a free ride into town to shop. I just had to message him on Whatz app ! He set it up. The shops were very nice on the resort. Should of spent our $ there because it was expensive in town. So many good memories made here . The lobby was pristine, so pretty! A friend recommended us here to Ocean Blue 💙 I do as well. Oh and Daves coffee open early and its real good ! I do recommend buying the coffee in the burlap bags that are at the gift shop, it's so good . Wish I bought more! Ocean Coral Riviera Cancun: Nice resort. I would give it a 3* unless you pay for "privilege"

So many bugs (sand fleas, gnats, mosquitos) we came home bitten. We were put in the "Daisy Club" which is for children (I love children but was not the pool I was looking for). It was very difficult to book a la carts unless you paid extra to be "privileged", it was difficult to get a lounge chair at any of the adult pools. All in all, It was a somewhat nice resort but the beach was so flea infested and full of seaweed that we could not walk it. You would think that getting off of a plane in Mexico, they would possibly consider welcoming their travellers as we are a big part of their tourism economy.
