Secrets Maroma Beach Riviera Cancun: Secrets Maroma

The hotel was great and the staff and services were also very good. Low marks in the wet bar as the hotel would not provide bottles of wine to the room. Our biggest disappointment was the seaweed (sargassum) on the beach. If you want a beach vacation, this may not be the spot for you.

Secrets Royal Beach: Beautiful Resort

The resort is beautiful, the staff are super friendly and helpful and I'd definitely recommend the small fee to participate in the preferred club status the personal touches are well worth it. There are plenty of restaurants to choose from and I'd recommend doing the Hibatchi one evening.

Secrets Puerto Los Cabos Golf & Spa Resort: Very nice resort!

Secrets Puerto Los Cabos was a beautiful clean resort! The maids cleaned every day and turned down the beds in the evenings. Room was a surprise as we had a partial ocean view which was not expected as we did not book an ocean view room so that was very nice! You do not have to book the al la carte restaurants but I suggest you go early because we did have a bit of a hard time finding seating room between 6:00pm to 8:00pm by this time most restaurants were completely booked up! All the food was  [... read more]cooked very well and was to our liking. My husband ordered the octopus from Oceans restaurant and he didn't like it but I think its just preference. You can walk to the beach but you cannot swim in the ocean near the hotel as the water is way way to rough, we were advised by the front desk not to go into the ocean and they were definitely right! The pool area was very clean as well and all drinks from the bar are served in plastic fancy glasses which is really nice so you don't have to worry about stepping on any broken glass around the pool. The towels were readily available even during the day if you felt like throwing in a wet towel into the bin you could and just go grab a fresh dry one no problem. Like at every resort you have people saving seats when they shouldn't be and they leave their towels on the pool chairs and don't show up till 4:00 in the afternoon so we did have a bit of a hard time finding seats as there were 6 of us that were vacationing together! Never had a problem with any of the staff they were all very helpful and willing to please everyone! The waiters and waitresses were very thankful when you tipped them but it wasn't expected but at the same time you were better waited on when you gave a tip! There were lots of activities like poker games, wine and tequila tastings, pellet shooting, archery and painting to keep people busy if they were looking for something else to do other than laze around the pool and drink all day. All and all I would give this trip an 8 out of 10 everything was well organized and I would put this resort among my top 5 that I have visited over the past 20 years! Secrets Playa Mujeres: Vacaciones de Ensueño

Pasamos una semana maravillosa en este hotel, todo excelente, desde la comodidad de sus habitaciones, hasta la atención de todos los trabajadores hacia los huéspedes del hotel, excelente restaurantes y deliciosa comida. Secrets Vallarta Bay: Expectation Met

I went to Secrets with a friend and we each paid the single supplement to have our own rooms. It was a good call as the rooms while pretty offer little privacy...understandable as the resort is geared toward couples. It appears that all rooms have an ocean view which is a positive point for this resort. Ours rooms were clean and comfortable. The resort is small which has its pros and cons. The pros are that it's a quick walk no matter where you want to go. The cons are that there is no quiet  [... read more]pool or area. When the entertainment team is doing entertainment during the day you hear it at all pools and the beach. However, you can see and hear the ocean from the pool area. You can also hear the great live music from the lounge that is played each evening between 9-11pm from your room. After that, you will hear the sound of the waves. So if you want to go to bed before 11pm, bring ear plugs if you are sensitive to noise. Some of the restaurants are on the NOW side which is owned by Secrets, but it is a family resort (Kids allowed). 3 restaurants and a cafe are on the Secrets side. So some of your meals could have children if you eat at the NOW side. We only had a crying baby at the Mexican restaurant. I think the Italian Restaurant on the NOW side may be adult only. I did not notice any children at the Japanese restaurant and there were only older children at Castaways (Surf and Turf). The food was amazing. Well prepared, fresh and tons of variety. No reservations required except for the special Japanese meal where they prepare the food in front of you. You do not need reservations for the regular Japanese meal where you order off a menu. The staff were very accommodating overall. They were friendly and seemed to enjoy their work. We heard about some guests partying on their balcony until 1:30AM and apparently it was hard to get staff to take care of the problem. We were told by one couple that they had to call the front desk 2-3 times and they felt that the issue was not handled properly. So much do that they said that they will not return. I personally had an issue with housekeeping on my last 2 days and with a late check out that was not entered into the system. I believe that I could avoid these problems if I returned by asking that my room be cleaned before 5pm and I recommend getting your late check out request in writing. A couple told me about Secrets in Los Cabo which is bigger but has a quiet pool that looks over the ocean. I think that might be interesting to check out.

Hyatt Zilara Riviera Maya: Wow. Great resort, great people,great stay for our 30th wedding anniversary!

First, let's start by saying that this is our second smaller resort in the last 6 months( approx. 300 rooms). The attention for the guests here is second to none. clean grounds, great restaurants and the only thing to say for the service is fantastic! Besides the seaweed (and lots of it), the beach itself was great. The pool is in need of some TLC (missing tiles, better filtration system(top water skimmer). The entertainment team was amazing. Secrets Playa Mujeres: Great location

The hotel grounds were immaculate and the entire service team were outstanding. Lots of smiles, friendly interactions and incredibly accommodating. Food was good, not great. Found the selection at the restaurants to be somewhat limited but quality was good.

Secrets Royal Beach: Secrets Royal Beach

Recently returned from a week here - May 14-21, 2018. Weather was amazing. The rooms and grounds of this hotel are probably the best we’ve seen. We had a Junior Suite Pool View - which for the most part is a view of the lazy river, which was lovely. The food was ok but if I’m being honest the Secrets “brand” did not live up to its reputation at this resort compared to others, i.e. Silversands. It may be possible that since it joined the other chains of Zoety and Breathless the fo [... read more]cus may have shifted. The best meal we had was at the Now Garden @ Capers. The Seaside Grill was our least favourite with very poor service The beach is beautiful however there is a major seaweed problem - mounds that were 3 feet high and quite a lot in the ocean. They work from sun-up to sundown trying to remove it only to start all over again the next day. The housekeeping, bar and entertainment staff work tirelessly and always with a smile on their face. I wouldn’t suggest upgrading to preferred unless you really feel its necessary. Also, unless you really want to invest in the UVC - Unlimited Vacation Club, don’t waste your vacation time going to a “special breakfast”. Please don’t think this was all negative as it wasn’t - we had a great 7 days and so glad we got to experience another Secrets Resort.

Secrets Cap Cana: I love Secrets!!!

Wow!!! My first all inclusive resort and the bar is set high!!! Everything from the spaces (rooms, pools, bars, restaurants, beach) to the staff, was excellent! The grounds were beautifully maintained, I loved the flowers and palm trees. Pools were a gorgeous bright blue. But the service!! Next level amazing!!! Mr Blue, Mr Obama, Omar, Edwin, La Diva, Chocolate, Rihanna, Jorge, Daysi, Teofino, and many others really contributed to our stay, always smiling, engaging, and helping us get the most [... read more] out of our stay - it would not have been the same without them. So appreciative of the Secrets team and definitely hoping to visit soon! I strongly recommend: the daily dance lessons on the beach with Chocolate, pool water aerobics with Mr Blue and Chocolate, any activities with La Diva (thanks for helping me land an archery shot!), sitting on the left side of the Market breakfast brunch restaurant so you will be in Edwin’s section!

Secrets Maroma Beach Riviera Cancun: Amazing

We spent 2 weeks recently at Secrets Maroma in Mexico and we can easily say it was one of the best travel experiences either of have ever experienced. From the time we arrived at the resort, we were greeted and treated with nothing but a welcoming professionalism. The resort itself is beautiful and the grounds are kept meticulously clean. We had an ocean view room on the 4th floor in building 22, and our concierge, Margarita was outstanding. Anything we wanted or needed, Margarita would take c [... read more]are of for us right away. Our safe in our room had stopped working for some unknown reason. One call to Margarita and there was some knocking on our door with 10 minutes for fix the problem. She also arranged special dinner reservations for the chefs table at both El Patio and Portafino's. Both were exceptional 5 course meals that were not on the regular menus and the chef personally presented us with each dish he specially prepared for this! A great dining experience! Also, a big shout out to Edgar at the breakfast buffet for his friendly professionalism! If you need or want anything on his watch, he's the man that makes it happen! We were on the resort for 2 full weeks and really didn't feel the need at all to leave the resort to be entertained. However, we did go into Playa Del Carmen for one afternoon. We went by taxi for $50 USD round trip. Our driver dropped us off and offered to pick us up. He said we could pay him only when we returned to the resort. The beach is among the best beaches we've seen in the Caribbean. For a few days there was a seaweed problem and the grounds people were trying to clear it but mother nature just wouldn't let up. But after a few days, the seaweed just seemed to disappear and the beach was clear of it once again. We spent our days split between the beach and the pool later in the afternoon. oh and shout out to Bernadine, the beach waitress who kept us well hydrated! WiFi was available everywhere, even on the beach which allowed us to use our spotify account for music on the beach! Overall, it was just a fantastic experience, from the accommodations, the food, the drinks, everything! We talked about our stay on the flight home and neither one of us could find anything that was not up to par that we could mention here! Hats off to the staff at Secrets Maroma for a truly great vacation experience!

Secrets Playa Mujeres: Nice Resort, however not what I thought a Secrets resort would be

Nice clean resort, however very loud annoying music everyday by the pool, not relaxing at all, so not the place to go if your looking for peace and quiet. Not able to swim in the ocean too rough, no one walks the beach, very strange. Very misleading as to what's included, had to pay for most top shelf liquors or wines, so don't be fooled by the unlimited luxery line. At least 2 restaurants closed every night, the Italian restaurant ran out of Cabernet all 3 night's we went for dinner. Rooms  [... read more]were nice, however we paid for a partial ocean view room and we're put in a room over looking the pool, we were told it was better as the ocean view rooms you could hear the construction of a new hotel being built next door, that's fine, however don't make me pay for it!! We were unable to to get back into our rooms 3 different nights, each time we were told the electronic lock would be fixed and it never was, very dissapointing. Suzy and Louisa at the pool were fabulous, always took care of us ensuring we stayed well hydrated!! Victor at the Brazilian restaurant at Dreams was amazing!!! He made us feel welcome as did the beautiful greater outside, I cant recall her name but she had the nicest smile! Although the food was great no complaints, given the price point for this resort I expected to see more seafood and steak offerings however not options. Given the price point I was a bit disappointed, we usually go to the Iberostar Grand Punta Cana, no comparison, the Grand is far superior in every way.

Secrets Royal Beach: Amazing resort

This is one of the cleanest resorts we have been to. Well kept inside and out. Our room was wonderful house keeping during the day and turn down service at night. The staff was excellent always helpful,polite and friendly. We enjoyed the fact we did not have to reserve for the dining rooms. There was always something going on at the beach and at the pool. Yes there was some seaweed no biggie. Would we go back YES !!!!!

Secrets Royal Beach: Wonderful resort

The resort, restaurants, beach, pool and staff are all fabulous. We would definitely return. We stayed at the preferred section and enjoyed how conveniently it was located to everything. We enjoyed our dinners at all of the restaurants as well as the Mercur at the Now Larimar. Service was excellent!

Secrets Huatulco: extraordinary service for the price

the hotel is set in attractive, though not extensive grounds, and includes a delightful birdwatching garden. on a steep hillside [though plenty of elevators] it has great views over the ' bay of rabbits ' and wide sandy beach. though the water is often rough, the aquatic staff [ plenty of them ] are prepared to tough it out. in the hotel, the staff are extremely courteous and helpful. i liked the 'just turn up' policy for the a la carte restaurants - and we were most impressed by the mexican r [... read more]estaurant - excellent oaxacan specialities. castaways restaurant, away from the main site, was excellent for lunch, and has the best views on the property. we only tended to use the 'sky bar' on the bridge between the main area and the elevators to the pools. again, spectacular views. we went with air canada vacations, and booked all our excursions through the local agent. most were interesting, but often involved grueling minibus jouneys. we found that the tour company ac used, xpert travel, has smaller groups, but each time we were the only gringos, which added to the interest. we didn't take the city tour, since we found we could take a taxi to crucetita for 70 pesos [$5] for 2 and wander around at will. the main church in town is definitely worth a look. although this time of year is the dry season, and the hillsides are mainly brown, most public areas in the region and the highway to the hotel have been landscaped and are well watered, making it most pleasant. we are seriously contemplating returning at the end of the rainy season!

Secrets Puerto Los Cabos Golf & Spa Resort: Lovely vacation!

We absolutely loved our vacation at this hotel. The staff were amazing and so attentive and accommodating. The food was very good (especially the Asian restaurant!). They had plenty of vegetarian options as well. Our room was a swim up ocean view and it was lovely. Quite private with a great view. There was only one main pool, which held a lot of activities. We found it nice in the morning but loud in the afternoons. If we hadn’t had a swim up, I would have found it difficult to relax.  [... read more] We prefer a relaxing vacation, and found it was great. There seemed to be plenty of activities if you wanted to participate. The only downsides to this hotel were that the wedding receptions are quite loud and they seem to be done outside on the grassy areas. Close enough to rooms to be quite annoying with loud music from around 8-10:30pm. However they always seemed to shut it down by then. Overall this didn’t affect us too much, but it wasn’t ideal.

Secrets St James: Great trip!

Awesome resort! Great food, weather, and rooms. The beach is white and the water is blue! Extremely close to the airport which I like. Smooth check in and check out. Mojitos were amazing!! Thank you secrets st James !!

Secrets Royal Beach: Perfect place to get away!!

Beautiful resort and beach. Food was good, rooms were clean and spacious. Staff were friendly and helpful. Main complaint is too many vendors coming up to you while on the beach (in the resort section).

Secrets Akumal Riviera Maya: Nice Resort

Overall a good experience. Staff are excellent. Dinner restaurants are very good. Buffet breakfast has many options but would be considered average. Ocean has a little disappointment with a few rocks and heavy seaweed daily. That said they are active every day keeping it clean. Based on the beach I would have to score it a 4.5 out of 5.

Secrets Royal Beach: Beautiful Resrot

Secrets Royal Beach was absolutely beautiful... the grounds were well-kept and romantically lit in the evenings, rooms were spacious and clean, service was good. Large, white sand beach but quite a bit of seaweed. We did not spend near as much time on the beach/in the ocean as we have in previous years at other locations. Highly recommend a swim-up room; poolside bar service meant that we could relax in our own "private" setting whenever we didn't feel like being part of the crowd. I [... read more]t made for a very relaxing holiday. Our favorite spots were the pool bar, the beach grill, Tamarindo (Mexican restaurant at Larimar), and Oceana (Seafood restaurant at Secrets). Pay attention to the dress codes at certain restaurants prior to travel to make sure you are equipped! None are out of the ordinary, but we did spot a group giving the staff at Oceana a hard time because the men did not have closed-toed shoes. We did very much like the food on the resort (and at the neighboring Larimar) but I will mention that 3 of the 4 travellers in our group got sick during our stay; 2 of which had taken Dukoral prior to trave. Sickness varied, lasting from 2-6 days. It is difficult to say whether this is a direct result of food/water on the resort but it seems likely, given that no one had consumed tap water or food from outside the resort grounds.

Secrets Huatulco: Amazing Resort and Staff

We traveled to Secrets with two other couples April 10 - 17. I think everyone would agree it was great. Our room was so nice and clean with a great view of the ocean. All resort areas kept so clean. Staff was great.
