Keep going back again and again

This resort has it all. The beaches, the access to the other hotels in the chain, the service, very clean, friendly, fantastic food, friendly staff, they look after your every need, I have been to this hotel nine times in the past five years and will go again this year

Nice Place

Rooms are big and clean. The grounds are big and vary clean also. Food was good. To many people and under staffed. The beach was ok. But not enough beach/pool chairs. Too big of a resort for me. I love Cancun/Mayan Riviera because they have alot of great excursions. Lots to see and do.

Incredible resort

Clean, spacious, friendly and fun. We enjoyed the quality of food and the impeccable service from the staff. We felt our children were safe and well taken care of with activities and made to feel important. We are planning another stay this March break at the same resort.

Needs updates

needs updates mostly in rooms ac not working fan working but no cool air low or no refrigerant jacouzi tub not working bathroom had mold or mildew around tub sreen door to outside deck very hard to open and lock very poor food selection on room service menu . food in most restaurant was excellent grounds pools restaurants are very well kept

Great resort

The resort was very nice and very big! The beach a akumal was nice fun looking down and seeing fish swimming in the water . Food was good, service was great and the margaritas were excellent . I would go back again

Beautiful resort

Bahia is a very nice resort, a little sad about my room location. After requesting any floor other than the ground floor I was not happy to be on the ground floor and facing the jungle which gave me no breeze what so ever. It is a very large resort so with that being said make sure that u try all of the beaches before you opt to settle with the golden section as it is nowhere near as nice as the other three sections.

Perfect resort for family vacation

Very nice resort located on the beautiful, well maintained ground. I had some reservations after reading reviews about beach and shallow waters but at the end it turned out to be one of the resort advantages. You can go in the water even during the storm because the beach is protected by a coral reef. At the same time you still can swim in open water that just 2-3 min walk away, very convenient. Exceptional.

If I could afford it I'd live here. Great facilities and service. White sandy beach. Warm water. A choice of good restaurants. Walkable and a convenient shuttle service. Close to Tulum, but I didn't leave the resort on this trip!

Grand Bahia Principe Akumal

We had a very awesome stay. The property was very well kept and clean, nice beach, friendly staff and great food. We would definitely recommend to our friends and family for their next trip. Awesome stay

Great resort

Second time there everything very good. We like the way we can go from one hotel to another, and any buffet or pool, beach was great and easy to get to from akumal. The filet mignon was terrible at the Japanese restaurant, it was like rubber, not beef, otherwise the food was great.

Fantastic resort

8 of us did a week at Akumel in March 2014.: The place is absolutely fabulous......can't waitto go again. If I were to say anything negative. .....it would be that we are so spoiled now that anywhere else we wouldn go would not live up to this!!

Loved our stay at Gran Bahia Principe Maya Complex

We stayed at Gran Bahia Principe Akumal from April 18-25 and absolutely loved it. The resort complex with the separate sections is a perfect lay out. Each of the main lobbies was stunningly beautiful. The long stretch of beaches was great and offered many different experiences. The pools were beautiful, though it would be nice to have some deeper pools as well for the adults and better swimmer to enjoy. The quality and the selection of the food are incredible. The only thing I missed was mango, which must be out of season right now. It’s funny how we do enjoy the Ataulfo mangoes at home in Toronto this time of year, yet I did not see any in Mexico during our stay. The bars, buffet restaurants and snack bars (24 hour) were also very good and we enjoyed excellent service, even when the resort was fully booked during the Easter weekend. Special thanks go out to Juan in the Royal Golden Club section of the Akumal resort for the great welcome and introduction. It was really nice to have him prepare us for a great stay. Just for that, the upgrade was definitely worth the extra $250 or so. We stayed in room 6226 (building 62, 3rd floor). The room was wonderful and clean. The one minor downside was that our 2 double beds could so easily have been 2 queen size beds with better mattresses, as there is plenty of room for that, but we slept fine nonetheless. We had 2 double beds and one single bed in our suite. Due to the small double bed size, we made a nice comfy little bed on the ground for our 4 year old who likes to move around in her sleep. The resort really should replace the doubles with queen-size to improve on an otherwise perfect all-inclusive resort experience. One comment I must include based on my wife’s feedback is that the trolleys need to slow down a little when close to pedestrians. I must agree that they do drive too fast. Our kids are age 8 and 4 and the resort was magical for them. The trolleys, even if they are too fast :) , made life very easy for them to visit the many restaurants after a long and exhausting day at the beach and the pools. They also loved the resort’s entertainment. The beach was perfect for them with the wave breakers that were great for sliding on and snorkeling. The kids’ water splash park at Coba was really nice, but the kids were not bothered to go back after one day in the Coba section (even our 4 year old) which suited us just fine since we preferred the Akumal and Tulum sections of the resort. Even for the kids, the service was great and the foods selection was phenomenal. The room cleaning personnel made wonderful towel animals each day. We are already planning a group vacation with our friends and neighbours for next year around the same time and can‘t wait to go back. The kids will have an even better time with many of their close friends at the resort. I hope to arrange the perfect stay for a group of 5 or 6 families that all live in our local Toronto Corktown community. Thank you to all the wonderful personnel at the resort complex. I cannot complement you enough and you made this a wonderful experience for all four of us.

You won't be bored

The hotel itself is very pretty. Everything is very clean. The food was amazing with to many choices. We wish we would have stayed for 2 weeks I stead of one. We didn't know you could go to the other buffets at the other hotels either. Our only complaint. We had a 1 year old that needed bottles kept cold in the room. When we approached staff saying our fridge was broken we received a lot of attitude! We also requested an ocean view room...it is NOT that kind of hotel. Awesome Resort

Example: What did you think about we loved this resort. Beachs, pools and the staff were superb. Enjoyed the shows and the shopping. Conviently close to the airport. this hotel? (grounds, public areas, rooms, dining, features, etc.)

Blown Away.... Completely

Our stay at the Grand Bahia Coba will never be forgotten. The facility was stunning. The grounds were spotless, the food was amazing, our room was beautiful. The resort exceeded out expectations. The staff are what put this vacation over the top. The staff were incredible. Words can't explain the extra time and effort each staff member that made us feel like we were the most important people staying there. Great Place

This is a very large resort. The grounds are very well kept. The tram running between the three resorts makes it very easy to get around. Lots of choices in where to eat; but book your alacarte meals upon arrival. Food was very good. Beach is satisfactory, but not the best we have seen. Pools are very good but too many people running down and staking out a spot even though it is posted not to. Rooms are great. Clean and quite comfortable.

Beautiful place would visit again

My husband and I went here and really enjoyed ourselves. The grounds are beautifully maintained the rooms are clean the people are very friendly. From the pools to the beach to the garden area everything is so well-maintained. The restaurants are very nice and the food is above average. What's really nice is the fact that they have a little golf cart rain shuttle to all the other resorts that are linked to this one.
