Sanctuary at Grand Memories Varadero: great resort

This was a great resort. Our room was located in the Sanctuary side building 34. Very close to the adult pool and the adult beach. Our butler was Dani(Danielle).She was awesome.Would send her a whatsapp message and she would reply promptly.In the room was a card to fill out when you wanted your room cleaned with 3 different time frames. The ladies were good and would also made animals from either a blanket or towels on your bed. We ate at the buffet 2 times a day on the memories side. You do not [... read more] go to Cuba for the food. Was very bland,repetitive and sometimes lukewarm. This did not deter us from having a great holiday. The bed mattress were a bit soft which was fine with me but my husband not so much. Again didn't hamper our holiday. We had a beach butler named Carlos and he would go above and beyond. Iberostar Origin Bella Vista Varadero: Amazing Resort

Best experience in this hotel, beach, staff, exelent food as well,best beach , big complain on Sunwing Flight, always delay, broken languages, no one is carrie responsibility of delay both ways, will never go with Sunwing Flight again and highly Recommend everyone don't take Sunwing Company for flight anywhere, Horible Company, . Cuba best vacation. We will go back next year same Hotel but never using Sunwing again.

Playa Vista Azul: Beautiful Views

Everything is on point at this resort! No shortages whatsoever! Entertainment team are incredibly talented. Love the lobby bar with the best views and drinks. Shout out to the beach bar staff, so friendly and great food

Hotel Bella Costa: I had a great week long stay here

The only thing I was very disappointed with at this resort was the bathrooms. The rooms had decent washroom facilities but around pool, bars, and lobby they were terrible. No locks on doors, no toilet seats, constantly out of toilet paper and paper towels to dry hands, hand blowers rarely worked and hand soap missing. Very unhygienic. Resort could use some renovations to make it safe for guests with mobility issues. Also could use a painting on the outside.

Sanctuary at Grand Memories Varadero: Great resort

Stayed at the Grand memories sanctuary April 6-13,2025. The resort is excellent. Staff extremely friendly. Food was pretty good for Cuba. No shortage. Other than bread for a few days but no big deal. Had an omelette every morning for breakfast. Entertainment in main lobby every evening was second to none. Very talented musicians. You can have quite beach or pool. Or you can have entertainment at either one. Plenty of spots to get food and drinks. Beach is nice and relatively flat at this resort. [... read more] Pools and swim up bars are nice. Lots going on if you want to be busy or just want to hang out. Choice is yours. I have zero complaints. Took my 25 year old son with me. We had a great time. Snorkeling right off the beach, if it’s not too windy. Went on a catamaran day tour. $85 USD each. Pick up at 9 and back by 5:30 pm. The snorkeling part was just ok but the rest of the tour was amazing. Nice cruise on the ocean. Amazing sea food and other food lunch on an island with an incredible white sand beach and 3 hr stop over there. Well worth the money. All and all I would rate the hotel and the vacation a 9/10. Went with low expectations and was pleasantly impressed. Would definitely return to this resort with Sunwing.

Melia Internacional: Best Resort in Varadero

My family and I had a great time at this resort. The grounds and facilities were well maintained and always clean. The staff were helpful and kind. The beach was breath taking!!! We will return again.

Barcelo Solymar: Family Trip

We had an excellent trip The hotel is a little dated The villas were very helpful when you have most of your family with you very spacious while we are there, they were working on the hotel, which was good to see trying to make things up-to-date the people were amazing they made you feel very welcome we had no issues with the food. beach was beautiful. All in all the hotel was comfortable I would definitely go back.

Would NOT recommend this hotel. Ran out of towels. And toilet paper. It’s old and needs renovation. Ran out of rum and whisky every night. Including mojito mint for drinks. Was only at 40% capacity. Rooms were super old beds very uncomfortable would NOT recommend

Paradisus Princesa Del Mar: What a wonderful resort

We were open-minded but skeptical about going back to Cuba after 2 years of reading about shortages, power outages, etc, but read some good things about the PPDM. Not only were the great reviews accurate, but understated, as this vacation in April was one of the best we have had in any Caribbean resort in the past 15 years! The beach is the best of anywhere we have been to, and tops the DR, and Mexico with it's white sand, huge walkable miles of sand, and great ocean swimming or floating! The [... read more] food at the PPDM was outstanding, with beef, chicken, pork and seafood freshly grilled for lunch and dinner. The Royal side is quiet, which is perfect for us seniors, but offers a few daily activities like yoga. Travelling on Air Transat was perfect, and our Trip Central rep helped out before leaving with all the details needed. I would go back to this resort in a heartbeat, which says a lot as in the past 28 Caribbean vacations, we always try a different resort. Our room was a 5-star, the staff went out of their way to assist. What a wonderful place to spend your vacation!

Starfish Cuatro Palmas: Starfish Cuatro Palmas ….very good location.

Very clean hotel with friendly staff. A bit noisy because of the clubs nearby. Beautiful beach and hotel pool. As for the food, there was lots to eat but always the same thing every day. We knew before going to Cuba that this could happen because they have difficulty getting shipments of food. I would recommend this hotel to friends.

I didn’t have the best vacation because of the new Manager Sabrina who caused issues with the group I was travelling with. She was insensitive to special needs and ruined our trip. Also the chair wars for adults was absolutely ridiculous. I paid for premier service and did not receive what I paid for. Rooms were good, clean and the Cuban staff was amazing.

Paradisus Princesa Del Mar: Enjoyed our stay very much!

The Paradisus Princesa Del Mar is a wonderful resort, perhaps among the best (in my opinion) in Cuba. The beach is stunning. The grounds are well maintained and lovely. The pools are great with ample seating on the deck. And, we were very pleased with the food at this resort. The main buffet has lots of choice with fresh fish and meat available to be cooked in front of you. There are also four restaurants to book during your stay (included in the price). But be sure to reserve a space since they [... read more] are serious about only those listed to be seated! We personally enjoyed the French restaurant and thought the beef brisket was fantastic. (We wern't that impressed with the Italian restaurant). Service is great but remember to bring cash for tips, either American or Canadian works. (Google suggusts American dollars are not well received, but that is not the case at all). We enjoyed the $5 hop on/hop off bus into Varadero. While there, we enjoyed a $20 horse and buggy ride for an hour (great price!), with the driver stopping for us along the way wherever we wanted to shop or take pictures. All told, this is a great resort choice in Cuba.

Grand Memories Varadero: Beautiful Resort

Grounds are kept very clean. Rooms need a lot of work as they are very dated and run down. Staff for the most part were very friendly. Food in the alacarts was good for the most part. The buffet was lacking especially the fact there was no bread most days. Toilet paper was in short supply.

Valentin El Patriarca Varadero: Amazing Staff

We stayed in the Alegance section from April 3-10. Staff is wonderful! Beach is awesome!!! We met great folks and enjoyed our stay. We ate 3 meals a day and were served with smiles and kindness. Locals have only 2 hours of electricity a day at their homes yet they come to work to serve guests. We swam in the ocean and the pool so having no hot water while the solar station was being repaired was not a big deal! Drinks were plentiful and cold, towels were changed often. Iberostar Origin Tainos: Lovely resort

Lovely relaxing resort. Grounds are beautiful, beach is breathtaking. Staff very friendly and helpful. Despite shortages on the Isle food was not a problem, just have to adapt. Bring your own spices .No shortage of water and no electricity blackouts. Check in was unfortunately too long after arrival. Bathroom fixtures need updating and cleaning staff may need instruction on when to change towels/ bath mats. On the whole a very pleasant, relaxing trip and will return. Grand Aston Varadero Beach Resort: Almost amazing resort

The hotel was clean, pool and daily activities were great. The overall vibe at the hotel was wonderful as something was always happening to keep guests entertained. The service from the wait staff was mediocre at best ..no smiles, and in the dining lounge we often had to flag someone down to get a soda with our meal. What was very disheartening was the bars where many a time if not most of the time, there was only one bartender trying to serve 10-15 people. That is very irritating for guests a [... read more]s many were very dissatisfied, with having to wait 20-30 minutes to get a drink. With all the staff in the dining lounge it’s hard to believe that management can’t train at least 3-4 bartenders per bar at least during busy times. Overall though, having been to at least 30 hotels in Veradero over the years, I was happy with my stay at Grand Aston

Occidental Arenas Blancas: our happy place

The biggest plus about this hotel is the location and the added bonus of being able to use a second hotel on the property. We have been frequenting this hotel for years mostly because of location and wonderful staff. We just returned (April 2025) and must say they have really improved on their food offerings, there was variety and plenty to eat. We cant wait to go back in December.

Sirenis Tropical Varadero: Amazing

The hotel was nice clean and comfortable. The food was OK.. but the ice cream wad amazing. All the staff were very nice I have to say thank you so much to Yvonne the sunwing rep... she made everything so much nicer. The beach was out of this world beautiful

Iberostar Origin Tainos: Fabulous vacation!

This resort is definitely on our repeat list! Pool was fabulous, beach was heavenly and staff were so friendly and welcoming! We stayed in a bungalow and its location by the pool was so convenient! The resort is not too big so we did not waste time looking for each other and getting anywhere on the resort was quick! Great staff at all bars, reception, housekeeping and at buffet!

Paradisus Princesa Del Mar: Wonderful Vacation

First off, we received a free upgrade to a suite on the Royal side which was a pleasant surprise after a long day of travel. The resort looks large, but it was only a 7 minute walk from our room near the beach to the front desk. The grounds were beautiful; the gardeners were out every morning cleaning and caring for the plants and grass. Food was good; the Royal buffet was our favourite for breakfast and lunch. The beach was nice, seats were plentiful although it’s a bit of a walk to the washroom on the Royal side from the beach. You do however pass 2 bars on the way so it was an eventful trip when you had to go. The staff was helpful and always pleasant especially the gardeners who always said good morning and offered my wife a freshly cut flower.
