Melia Las Antillas: A wonderful vacation destination !

As my first Cuba vacation, resort and rooms were very clean. Staff are very polite and welcoming.Lots of food options for any taste and diet. Yard and pool are well maintained at all times and kept clean. Lots of free activities at the beach and some for very reasonable price. I sure consider this resort for my next trip.

Resonance Blu Varadero: Amazing resort

I have been to several resorts in Cuba but memories varadero had lot of activities and things to do The staff was friendly and helpful .I enjoyed the shows in the evening and also not too many mosquitos at night. The beach was beautiful.

Royalton Hicacos Resort and Spa: Amazing Resort

What a great hotel!! Customer service was top notch, from arrival to departure. Staff were amazing and very attentive, smiling all the time and going out of their way to accommodate you wherever possible. The beach was amazing and the ocean warm to swim in. The food at the a la carte restaurants was delicious, the Italian being our favourite, thank you Pavel for such great service. Thanks to Carlos our butler for the bottle of sparkling wine, to our maids for yet another one accompanied with c [... read more]hocolates and also the extra pods for the coffee machine.!! I am already missing cappuccinos on the balcony in the early morning and would love to know where to purchase the machine in our room. This is one resort we would definitely return to!!

Blau Varadero: We Will Return

Thank you Tina ( Scibetta ) for all your help and guidance. Danuta and I had a great time at Blau Varadero. The resort was excellent, our room with a amazing view of the ocean had a truly relaxing effect on us. Watching the sunrise and sunset was a daily treat. The resort's amenities were fantastic, food and drink was plentiful and never ending. The pool and beach were perfect, never a problem with towels, lounges, beach bar was right on the beach!! Have to mention a few from the restaurants...Ernesto, Avelio, Camays, Yeny, and of course our singing waiter Wilifed. Hope I got the names right. Anyway, we will definitely book this resort again in Cuba. We always go to Cuba on our trips to the Caribbean. One last thing, we usually book with Redtag, never again. We had a problem on a trip to Cayo Coco. Redtag fluffed us off to Air Canada who in turn did absolutely nothing for us. After numerous emails and calls I gave up but they will never see a dime from me again. Not to mention the fact that we will not refer Redtag to anyone. Lastly, one down side. We had our luggage opened at the Varadero Airport, Items were stolen including Danuta's ring and clothing. They left the Rum !! I guess they dont drink. Fantastic trip....thanks again TripCentral.

Melia Las Americas: Great resort

Clean hotel, buffet was excellent (no kidding), adult only, amazing beach... Well it's Varadero! Staff polite and friendly... Cubans are lovely. Been to Varadero 5 times and twice to this hotel... by far the best. Highly recommend.

Sanctuary at Grand Memories Varadero: A VERY MEMORABLE VACATION

Where does one start. From our elite seating to the reception and departure from Grand Memories Sanctuary it was a very memorable vacation. Our suite on the second floor pool side was beautiful. We were in close proximity to a pristine beach as well. The weather was perfect. On September 7, a very special birthday, we went deep sea fishing and caught 7 Barracuda! The crew was knowledgeable and served us well. The staff at Sanctuary were polite and engaged. Sol Varadero Beach: Friendly staff

Rooms are clean sraff is so friendly you cant beat the beach and ocean have a great swim up pool with stools older resort but clean wish it was a little xloser to town but you can hop on a bus for 5 cuc and its good all day you can hope on and off all day

Paradisus Princesa Del Mar: Unbelievable

We really enjoyed our stay ! Our room was huge and clean but a bit dated. The beach was beautiful with great views and clean, the drinks were plentiful, service was good if you stayed near the bar ! Plenty of chairs and umbrellas but go early. The pool area was clean and spacious, always got a great spot with lounge chairs. Service was good around the pool , always got a drink when needed. If the restaurants were air conditioned like the gift shop the experience would be fantastic.. It's tough to enjoy your meal and experience when your sweating like a porn star. Check in was a bit teeth pulling but got through it ! Huge Rush at onetime.. Night Entertainment was good ! The rock band was our favorite!, Some minor things that stood out was the lighting near our rooms it was to dark ! Some thing so simple to solve and is the biggest negative!! Memories Jibacoa: Great place to relax

This was not our first time at this resort. We didn't visit the resort in the last 2 years because our son got married and other commitments but we could see the change right away. The food was always OK for us,this time most of the cold food was covered. On the beach now lots of palapas and sun beds, never had to worry that you will not find a place. It was nice to see a lot of ppl on the beach compared to before but a lot of the guests were European ( from England and Germany) so no surprise [... read more] here. We are beach ppl and we like to snorkel. Best snorkeling place so far,we had visited Turks and Caicos last year for a wedding and I can tell you that when comes to snorkeling TCI is not even close. The only issue we had was with the AC in the rooms. When we arrived they assign us a room where the AC was turned off, because of the humidity the moment we open the door to enter the smell of mold fit us in the face. We were given the key of two other rooms, fortunately for us the second had a working AC and no smell.5 days into our trip the AC stop working so we let the receptionist now....nothing was done until the next day when we wen down to reception to complain about it. The person that dealt with our complaint ( we only find out later) was the GM of the resort. We got a room with working AC for the reminder of the trip. Kiki the GM was were pleasant and we like to thank him for what he did for us.We do not care for Ocean view rooms ( as we are on the beach all day) nor for pool view ( something that is considered an "upgrade") as we like to relax in peace. If they are going to fix the AC in all the rooms and put AC in the Dining Room this place will be for sure one of the best in Cuba. As I mentioned the food was Ok , they should invest in stand alone food warmers with lids to cover so the food will stay hot. The tables outside were such a blessing as there is no AC inside. Ppl are nice and they are trying their best to make as feel comfortable and we really appreciated.We will return for sure,just have a nice cold room for us.

Palma Real: never again

I had been already in the past to this hotel, when everthing was well distributed and everything worked. very disappointed the way is being managed now and how many things raned out at different times

Melia Las Americas: Amazing Time

We had an absolutely amazing time (5 people total - 30+ yrs). From Angela Douglas @ Trip Central dealing with an unexpected flight change (she deserves a 5 star review of her own!!) Sunwing service was really good! Check In was a breeze online, we were all able to sit in the same row, and the service on the flight was perfect. Melia Las Americas was very welcoming. Beach was impeccably clean, and easy to get sunchairs My husband golfed almost every day and loved it. We took a day trip into Havana in a classic car organized by the concierge at an amazing price and had a wonderful time Water activities were accessible and fun. The hotel had different activities organized for people everyday and while we did not participate, people were having fun! The lobby of the hotel had live music every night which was amazing. All in all a great experience.

Hotel Tuxpan: Beautiful beach

Room smelled like mold and was always damp.....the food was good but the same thing every day.....the pool was amazing and the beach was the best thing about this resort....the ceilings leaked when it rained

Paradisus Varadero: Sunshine and thunder.

The hotel was a 4 star not 5. The beach and pool were good. The staff was friendly. Rooms were clean but the bathroom needed a lot to be desired. Entertainment was the highlight of this hotel. The tour of Havana was expensive but good made even better as the tour guide was informative and funny. The grounds of the hotel were well kept.

Royalton Hicacos Resort and Spa: Ok resort!

What can I say, the resort is just ok. Definitely not a five star, maybe 3.5! Most of the stuff is friendly except for the guys at the reception and food typical for Cuba:not much to choose from, same thing every day! This resort is very outdated with very poor nightly entertainment and the rooms are full of ants!!! Would not go back there again nor recommend it to anyone unless you’re ok with a 3-4 star.

Roc Barlovento: Friendly

This is the best kept secret in Varadero The buffet is delicious ....... really good food , I’ve been there 4 times and never disappointed The beach is absolutely stunning and well maintained I wouldn’t stay anywhere else

Iberostar Selection Varadero: very nice resort with great beach

simple resort with nice pool and great beach; ocean front. Rooms were up to date; not modern but nice and clean. grounds were neat and well taken care of as was lobby area and restaurants. staff were very pleasant and outgoing; easy to talk with and always saying hello and trying to assist.

Starfish Varadero: Excellent Hotel

Stayed in the renovated section, great room. Staff very helpful, food was excellent. Drinks plentiful. Al La Carte worth a visit. Beach awesome. Entertainment well done. You are close to the marina so will need to take the bus or taxi to downtown. Down side, lots of stairs in section 8. If you have walking or knee issues book a bungalow. Water pressure poor and lukewarm water in shower. Cuba is just an amazing country to visit, people are so friendly and you are so very safe to wan [... read more]der.

Muthu Playa Varadero: Not for everyone

The hotel it self is definitely not a four star as advertised. More like a low three. Although the grounds were lovely , the pool really needs some work done with the area around it. The beach and ocean were extremely beautiful. Water is warmer than a bath. Hotel was quite empty so finding chairs anywhere was never a problem. It Has a very nice lobby and an excellent coffee bar . Our room was a ocean view and it was simply exquisite. We had a daily Battle to get two waters a day . Neither of us drink so this was frustrating. Now ..... we were never told that their kitchen was under renovation. The worst buffet I have seen in thirty years of traveling. I can usually find food I like but this was just not acceptable. Everything you normally find on a all inclusive buffet was not available. No omelettes no pasta no fruit. On my First breakfast I was horrified to have a big cockroach laying on my napkin. Soooo gross ! After three days of eating breads ( delicious) and some pastries we decided to go to an alacarte. Thank goodness we did . How the food was so much better there was kind of quizzical. The remainder of our trip we enjoyed dinners but still not breakfasts or lunches. Would I recommend this hotel ? No not while the kitchen is under repair. Once the renovations are complete, yes I think I would .

Club Kawama: Amazing resort

I have been to kawama many times but it seems to be losing its luster. The main pool was out.of.order.my whole trip ...food.wasn't.it's finest...room was flooded for.2.days because not.enough help to.clear water. But I still.will.return to kawama as.they try their hardest

Sol Varadero Beach: First stay, great vacation, good hotel

I was for 10 days at Sol Sirenas. As usual I read before arrival good and bad reviews.. I asked a room close to everything and on ground floor as I move with walker. And I was given #1002 which was exactly that, so for the first time I did not have to move. I had good A/C which was on 2 volumes and was working OK. I had a brand new fridge - first time I saw in Cuba. I had many international channels on TV, movie, sport, news in all languages. Balcony looking towards the pools, far enough from the Entertainment in the evening to be disturbed. They repair one part of the resort, so there was occasional power and water supply cuts, but not for long and in several hours everything was back in business. But there was no any disturbing noises from it. Hurricanes are here every year and every hotel needs funding and money from the State to do EVERY year repairs and renovation and this is not an easy matter for the Cubans. Plenty of fresh food-3 types of fresh lean meat every day, several types of veggies-raw and cooked, cheeses, ice creams, lots of desserts. Clean rooms. Older furniture, true, but they make it up with good cleaning. And they are repairing and renovating the resort already. Best pools for disability people - no steps and ladders = just gradually going in the water - great! and in interesting shape so it gives privacy . FANTASTIC WHITE SAND LONG AND WIDE BEACH!! True - the beach chairs are very old and some need to be thrown out already, but there are plenty of palapas for the strong sun and also around the pool all chairs are new. Very well kept outdoor space. Nice shows every night and GREAT hard working staff everywhere - kind , knowledgeable, helpful and respectful. I was with a walker and alone, by myself and worried first when I saw everything everywhere was on terraces. But they do have ramps and if you do not want to go that much around to use them - the terraces are made one step level at a time so that it was easy even with the walker to move up or down one step to other level. I will go back when I got such great price for a single room as iI got this September. There were some days with more mosquitoes but with repellent it was OK. That was my 22nd time in Cuba, and first here and I have been all over Cuba and in Varadero 10 times and I always go there for the beach and the ocean and they are extremely beautiful here and easily accessible. This hotel for me is a great find.
