Grand Memories Varadero: Poor resort

The rooms at this resort were very dirty and old. We had the same towels for 7 days and not even enough towels for the people in the room. Poor food, long line ups for food that wasn’t even very good. Pictures make the resort look way better.

Melia Las Dunas: Great Holiday😁

We found the resort very well maintained, clean rooms, well manicured grounds but the best was how friendly the staff was. We found the buffets abundantly stocked, lots of fresh fruits and salads. If I had anything to criticize it would be a lack of bathrooms at the beach. It was a super holiday and I would definitely go back.

Iberostar Selection Ensenachos: Beautiful Beaches

Hotel is good overall. Grounds including pools are well maintained. Staff are very polite and hospitable. General maintenance of accommodation structures and interior of rooms can be improved- for example painting of exterior doors, door handle and patio door stick and hard to open. Lobby beautiful and presents well but public toilets need to be better maintaining. Clean dining facilities for buffet meals good core food availability but limited variety.

Playa Pesquero: An amazing 14 days of Rest and Relaxation

Playa Pesquero is a warm welcoming resort with something for everyone. The beach is beautiful, the water clear and shallow and staff are friendly and helpful. The resort is situated on the beach, you can literally walk from the lobby down the boulevard over the bridge that is over the pool down to the beach. The Al a Cart restaurants offer well presented dishes, the daily buffet does not have a lot of variety, but you won't starve. Now that l have experienced the 14 day stay l wouldn't go for any less time.

Aston Costa Verde Beach Resort: Awful

The first 3 days there wasn't hot water to shower until we complained many many times. We were 3 adults in a room but there were 2 pillows. Again we complained many many times and they added a pillow. Many times electricity shut down and because of that no toilet flush, no coffee, no show, no hot food, ....and surprisingly they didn't have a power generator!!! Just don't go there. Positive side is very nice beach which is everywhere in Cuba.

Grand Memories Varadero: Disaster

The grounds, pools are excellent. It's the rooms. We had a 3 ft wall around the tub to climb over to get in tub. No safety bars in tub. Totally unsafe. Two towels for the week. No face cloths. Did not change sheets for the 7 days we were there. At the buffet they'd run out of coffee, orange juice by 830 am. Also no glasses for water or juice. No butter. To go to theater you climb about 12 marble steps No railing on either side. Just a nightmare. Very disappointed as this was rated 4.5 stars. I [... read more]'d only give it a 1 star.

Valentin El Patriarca Varadero: Mediocre

Was here 3 years ago under Ocean El Patriarca Varadaro and was a bit disappointed this trip. Still advertised no booking for a le cartes which is false. (A main reason I took a group of 15 people 3 years ago) Some facility issues ie: no hot water for couple days, tv didn’t work, no butter, no potatoes or fries, no fish. Pool was pretty dirty. Had 10 others join me this time and next years group which will most probably be larger, WILL NOT return. Listed as a 4+ but this trip I’d say 3* Weather was fantastic and the staff were great! Our group overlooked the issues and enjoyed meeting new friends and had a great time together!

Melia Internacional: Lived up to expectations

The staff were exceptional ; well run. Well appointed rooms. The only complaint was the internet.. Loved the ribs and the omelettes. The snorkelling and the catamarans trips were exceptional for us.

Grand Aston Cayo Las Brujas: A Very relaxing Vacation Resort

We loved the beach, the resort it self had a few issues public washrooms could use some work, needed to be up dated. The room was comfortable and clean. Great staff all very friendly, In the two weeks we spent with them they were painting and sprucing things up. We definitely would return.

Gran Muthu Almirante Beach Resort: New resort with a magnificent beach!

The resort is modern, well design and very clean. The rooms are large and spacious and very comfortable, furniture is very new, clean and works well. High speed internet is available everywhere. The food is acceptable compared to other hotels. There were almost all kinds of meat and vegetables in the buffet. All kinds of drinks, red wine, beer and soft drinks were available. The entertainment at night was not bad, but there were no daytime activities, so the day was boring! The resort area was kept very clean. The elevators worked well and quickly. There were only two or three problems, one was the noise of music and some guests who talk or laugh loud at mid night, and the other was the problem of losing towels around the pool or beach. If the towel is lost, a fine must be paid, and it is not known why the towels are lost( stolen) ?!

Iberostar Origin Laguna Azul: Amazing Resort, Better Staff

I can’t say enough good things about this trip; but, wanted to shout out some terrific individuals. Thank you so much to King Kong, Crazy Boy, Joey, Tony and the entire entertainment staff. They brought energy and excitement every single day and made my whole group feel welcome from the second we walked in.

Club Amigo Atlantico Guardalavaca: Wow! Beautiful Resort!

This was my first trip leaving Canada. Everything here at Club Amigo was Beautiful! The grounds, flowers beautifully maintained. Everyone vacationing and the hotel workers were friendly and pleasant. The grounds keepers took pride in their work and always smiling. Food is tasty and fresh. Loved the happy atmosphere! Truly Heaven on Earth here.

Aston Costa Verde Beach Resort: Work in progress

Resort is trying to get up and running at a reduced capacity after being closed for a couple years and mostly refurbished. The staff were all fantastic. Food was good but no pasta, beef or fish. The second day the rooms above the main building had no water, couldn't shower or flush toilets yuk! We were moved to beautiful new room. Friends stayed but had no hot water all week. Club Tropical: Great updates!

The updates, paint and improvements are great! The people are so wonderful! We had no power at all one day. Everyone not just our resort. The sun, the beach and the pool, FANTASTIC! ☀️🍹🏖️❤️😎 We will return soon! Thank you to everyone there!

Resonance Blu Varadero: Average Resort

They have limited alcohol so make sure to bring in a bottle for the week of what you like to drink. Don't pack any nice clothes or they get stolen . The hotel is average but the water is beautiful.I definitely wouldn’t rate this hotel over 3 stars .

Grand Aston Cayo Paredon Beach Resort: Great resort!

Loved this resort. Brand new, clean, modern. It was not fully opened yet so no gift shop. There was a wine and tapas bar that looked interesting but also not opened yet. There are 4 restaurants you can eat at. We tried 2, Asian and Italian, both good. Beach was beautiful, rooms exceptionally clean and nice. Food was ok for Cuba. Pools and grounds were spotless. Would go back in a heartbeat. One thing to note is that there is nothing close by. Bring everything you.

Gran Muthu Rainbow Cayo Guillermo: Different experience in Cuba

Firt the resort was very nice ,spacious room very beautiful,and very clean,the resort itself very clean. The staff not everyone was smilling and the service very slow. Melia Jardines del Rey: Amazing time

Me and my father went to the Melia Jardines Del Rey Jr resort. Our trip was great. The staff were awesome and very out going. Yonatan faure Fonseca is the guy to see for beach fun and for engagement in the evening activities. As well as Manuel Zamora (beach guys) and Thalia in the lobby buffet at supper, can't miss her. Also keep an eye open for Yudermis in the lobby, she is amazing. 😆 I would recommend building 15 as it is centrally located in the large resort. Ernest Hemingway's old beach that he would go to to rejuvenate his mind and help with writing. I did not know that Pillar was the name of his boat. The sand at every beach was almost as white as snow but not. The resort was of a good size but most of the restaurants and pools were off the main drag so that made it easier as I have a physical disability. The ice cream shop is a very good stop, multiple times a day. Lol The resort grounds were being worked on daily to improve it's appearance as I did look older than 8 years. Did I say how lovely the beach was. The not so good My bedroom had a tub that you needed a stepping stool to get into. I noticed the sand fleas more then my father did. They were especially bad when the wind wasn't blowing. The food at the La Carte restaurants were ok but very skimpy on the veggies and potatoes. The deserts brought back our child hood days eating baby food. Rice pudding or some sort of starchy pudding with a baby spoon. It all tastes very good though, so I don't know if I would consider this a negative thing. About 3/4 the way through our trip the resort was running low or out of rice and Coke, but the water and toilet paper were plentiful. What was also plentiful was the groundskeepers, a special thanks should go out to them. For keeping the grounds looking so pristine and improving it's overall appearance everyday. Yes, I would recommend this resort to my readers. Note- I wouldn't recommend coming to Cuba just for the food. I would suggest bringing spices, clothes or daily supplies to pass out as tokens of appreciation. They work extremely hard and deserve to be recognized for it.

Starfish Cayo Guillermo: Amazing beach and resort

I had a great vacation, the resort is amazing, beautiful bungalows most with spectacular ocean views, great food, hard working friendly stuff, and most of all the spectacular beach, shallow warm water and miles of walking and picking seashells!

Memories Caribe Beach Resort: "A bit disappointed"

I had very high hopes when I booked this vacation with another couple "friends of ours". This review is detailed and very accurate. Its not a bitch session. The cost of our trip was great, very reasonable. Rooms: We upgraded to the Junior Suite which was very nice, can't complain.. But our friends booked a regular room. They had to change rooms 2 times due to moldy rooms black on ceilings, an air conditioning not working. Half way through the week they upgraded to Junior Suite and go a go [... read more]od room. I spoke with one other guest, they said part of their ceiling was black and coming down on them.... yuck. They also had no hot water for 3 days until they got over to the junior suite. Diamond Club (option): This is a bad segregation of class of vacationers concept. Because you didn't pay for better food, better drinks, certain beach access and other services your treated as a 2nd class visitor. THEY RAN OUT OF RUM our 3rd day in... and it lasted for 3 days... how is that possible. France doesn't run out of wine... OMG. But the Diamond Club vacationers still had RUM in their preferred bars. We asked for certain drinks that should be part of our regular "All Inclusive" packages, but the staff says they don't have any, their out of stock, and then a Diamond Club person requests the same thing and they get served..... I feel like there's a "Back of the Bus" scenario here if you know what I mean. In order to get RUM or a drink my wife likes, I had to buy a couple bottles from the bar "slide them money" (that should be giving them to me for free)... I complained to the management and he gave me an extra bottle, I believe it was for me to shut up or keep quite. Very sad.. Food: Its Cuba,,, we expect average at best.... I found a few things to eat, never went hungry.. . But the Diamond Club got separate breakfasts, Lobster, Shrimps no limits.. the rest of us have to quickly go to buffet before they run out of food. Beach: The beach water was beautiful, clear blue water, white sands,, a bit of sea weed 1 or 2 days (high winds) understandable... They cleaned it up... No complaints there. The pool area didn'thave a lot of shade or umbrella areas, full sun . People had their towels out the night before to reserve them. There certainly were a lot of sand flees on the beach.. The other couple and my wife had a lot of bits.. I escaped it some how... Wifi: The wifi is only available in the lobby and its very limited, I believe it has a limit on how many people can connect at a time... Other than the great water we had some challenges..
