Melia Jardines del Rey: huge resort good for money paid

This is a huge resort Extremely understaffed but the staff is wonderful and courteous Arrival smooth check in good Room satisfactory full bathroom flat screen sitting area oceanview but two twin beds lol. The beach extremely rocky and full of coral, the water sports exceptional, the only good part of this beach by a stinky lagoon. Dining was very good at the alacartes Oriental exceptional the French and Cuban were good but the buffet lacked good food condiments spices and quickly ran out of ever [... read more]ything. Drinks were great wine ok beer only Cristol very light .. very short on staff for a resort of this magnitude the lines were painful and the staff was excellent As we were leaving we saw two huge busloads of Cubans coming in .. don't know where everyone was going to be accommodated .. Went for relaxation and beach :)

Hotel Playa Paraiso: Amazing time by all

Resort is awesome we had a great time. Rooms Food Pool and Beach excellent. Resort staff awesome very professional and helpful. Shows at night great. Took a 4 yr old and 12 yr old they had a blast. My two adult kids first time in Cuba they loved it.

Melia Cayo Coco: Amazing vacation

although the hotel is on the old side - it was very clean, - beds are hard but we managed - the grounds are lush and beautiful - we love that it is a smaller hotel and can get around easily - if they could cut down some of the greenery it would allow ocean view which is what we would have preferred - don't see any reason to upgrade to lagoon suites - not much to see there - food at the al a cartes was very good - buffet okay but you get tired of the same things - but we didn't starve

Hotel Playa Paraiso: Nice resort

The hotel was average. The grounds were well kept and the beach was amazing.pool needs a bit of maintenance. There should be a spot for smoker, it is overwhelming in the evening. The food was good, but because it is not a large resort there is not an extreme amount of choices. The a la carte was nice. The waiting staff was excellent.

Melia Jardines del Rey: Great stay

I stayed at Melia with a friend over March break. It was my second trip to Cuba and I really enjoyed my stay. The resort is new and very clean. The resort is quite large and I personally prefer a mid size resort. However, we had a room by the main pool and found that we were very well located (close to the beach and pool, not too far from the lounge). The beach is gorgeous and I recommend going snorkeling with the entertainment staff during one of their 3 weekly outings. Yes, the beach is rocky [... read more] upon entrance but this really shouldn't be an issue. A 3 minute walk to the left and there are absolutely no rocks. Take the time to walk up the beach to your right. It's quiet and rock free. We spent our afternoon by the pool and really enjoyed the pool bar staff. All are friendly and attentive. The entertainment staff is wonderful and friendly. If you prefer not to listen to the activities, you can stay by the second quieter pool. During our stay, we heard many people complain about the towels. Please remember the man at the towel bar is not responsible for the fact that they are out of towels. Some people were far too rude to the employee qho worked there. I'd suggest to bring your own towel and air it out on the balcony. I had my own and I was able to change my resort towel twice. I had no issues and couldn't believe how many people complained about this. You're on vacation, so just relax and enjoy yourself! The food at the resort is satisfactory. Yes, by the end of the week I was tired of the buffet but I never went hungry. Eat a big breakfast, the best meal of the day, and try out both pool restaurants to mix things up at lunch. The fried chicken in particular is amazing. Considering the food in Cuba is known to be pretty bland, I was happy with what was offered at Melia. My only complaint is that there really isn't much going on in the evening. After the shows, which are great, we just went to bed. It wasn't a big problem, we just ended up enjoying more rum in the afternoon at the pool rather than the evening. However, if you're looking for nightlife, you're better off in Veradero. Overall I enjoyed this resort and would recommend it to anyone interested in going to Cayo coco.

Hotel Camino del Mar: Beautiful beach

The good stuff: The beach was beautiful. The ocean was an amazing blue. The snorkling was half decent. You could walk out a long ways before the water got deep. There was a lovely, long pier with shaded areas and benches. The pool was nice. The staff was amazing and did their best to make everything great. They asked us to fill out a survey on our second day there. That same day they were trying to fix anything that wasn't right, other than the mattresses. Muthu Colonial Hotel: Throw back to the Old

Had a wonderful stay at the Hotel Colonial Cayo Coco, The resort is 10 minutes from the airport and looks like a small Spanish village, amazing looking architecture through out. The pools where clean, the drinks were cold and the beach was stunning. The food was meh, expected for Cuba so no disappointment here and the staff were very pleasant and helpful. I'd recommend a stay for anyone looking for a cheap place to relax.

Memories Caribe Beach Resort: Excellent Resort

Excellent resort - Friendly staff. Entertainment was good. the only issue we had was no hot water or pressure at certain times of the day. When we timed it right, it was great. Rooms are beautiful and clean.

Memories Caribe Beach Resort: great beach

a typical Cuban resort. Food was Ok, Service was great. Rooms were Ok but lacking hot water. Beach was the the best part. They did not have any local musicians playing which was very disappointing. No one in the piano bar. We did not have a pool ballet show as advertised.

Muthu Colonial Hotel: Very friendly and efficient resort

Hotel very nice with good outlook over the ocean. good food and the staff extremely friendly and efficient.only drawback..the mosquitos,but sadly that goes with the area ! Facilities are good and family friendly.Also,nicely quiet

Iberostar Origin Daiquiri: Great Resort

Cayo Coco Iberostar Daiquiri: -Food wasn't the best, resort was great. -The workers were great, calling you by name. The resort itself was beautiful, very relaxing. -Would definitely recommend this resort to any first timers!

Hotel Camino del Mar: Lovely Resort

We had an okay stay, however the food this year was not as good as in previous years. No softdrinks available in rooms after 2nd day, apparently a problem with the supplier. The beach was beautiful and a trip to Pillar Beach was wonderful. The rooms are tired, but understand major renovations are taking place. Recommend more chairs at the beach and shaded spots.

Hotel Playa Coco: Great Time !

Hola: My girlfriend and I just did a short 4 day long weekend trip into Hotel Playa Coco. As returning guests we were treated excellent. The staff were more than friendly and accommodating. The Customer Service Manager, Aracely took really good care of us and was always a pleasure to talk to. The bartenders were great, always lots to drink. They are doing renovations in different areas of the resort, which some people complain about, but I think its great that they continue to improve the resort. We are the ones that will gain in the end. I myself don't have an issue with the food, just pick and choose what you like. Try something if you don't like it, try something else. You won't go hungry. The beaches and pools are just beautiful, it is what we come there for as well as the people. I love it here in Cayo Coco. We will go back again. Thank you to the Hotel Playa Coco and all the staff. Tryp Cayo Coco: Amazing Trip!

The beach was beautiful and you could walk both ways a great distance. I loved the quiet pool also. The food was good, especially the pizza, omelet stations. They also had fresh meat that you could choose to cook on the grill. My only complaint was that we had no hot water, but we didn't complain about it.

Hotel Playa Paraiso: Best in caca coco

The rooms are good, showers are not on the wall so you must hold it with one hand while washing. Only water in fridge. Pool is nice beach is great some coral water shoes required but lots of colourful fish. Food is good towlel are not a problem. Staff are friendly and helpful. Bugs at night prefer Varadero.

Melia Jardines del Rey: Great Resort...but...

Grounds are sparse in vegetation hotel was big and well laid out for getting around. Food was never tiring and variety was good, proximity to airport and support staff excellent. Beach towels was a big issue never enough. Front desk could have better training in receiving guests

Melia Jardines del Rey: Great week

We had a great week. The food was good. The a la cartes were good too. The beach was rocky, but if you walk to the right it is much better. Thankfully we brought our own beach towels as they were out a lot. The workers were very friendly. Overall, it was a great week with lots of memories made.

Hotel Playa Coco: Average Resort

I have been too many resorts and I would say the food and restaurants would rate at a 4 star. The front lobby was very nice and clean but beyond the lobby and restaurants it needed a little TLC. Pool was never too clean, but wasn't too important as I spent my time at the beach. Our room was average, but the air conditioner was not working properly and had asked 3 days in a row to be fixed and never happened. We were eventually moved to another room. Garbage cans were full and we had no where to put our cups other than on the sand. Pool bar closed at 5 and beach bar also at 5. I like to be outside until dusk and there was no where to get a drink other than the lobby bar. Wouldn't go back to this resort.

Memories Flamenco Beach Resort: A fabulous and welcoming Resort

With a warm welcome, you enter a garden lovers resort. With butterflies and hummingbirds flying amongst the flora as you're walking the tree lined pathways to the garden staff creating fantastic palm leaf souvenirs. The beach is a wanderers paradise. To either side, you could spend hours strolling the waters edge. Snorkeling could be done right in front of the resort with a multitude of beautiful marine life to be viewed. A huge selection of food in the buffet, you should be able to find all sorts to try and to please your appetite. One suggestion would be to bring salt/pepper or other preferred flavour adders. The a la carte restaurants are very good. Make sure you reserve your times as soon as possible or upgrade to Diamond Club and have various times already reserved for you when you land and also the option of breakfast and lunch in the "Florencia" restaurant. Our first Caribbean vacation and we had a wonderful and memorable time and would go back in a heartbeat.

Melia Jardines del Rey: Big resort.

Nice family resort, but not the nicest I've been to. Be prepared to get exercise walking as it is a large resort. My husband and I didn't mind as we know walking is great for our health. The grounds are pretty, more so on the side first completed as it has developed more. Public areas are nice with plenty of seats. The entertainment was just ok. We were very disappointed they cancelled the Michael Jackson show they used to have each week. Enjoyed the Oriental and Bistro a la carte, but food and service was lacking at the International a la carte. Upon arrival at our room on the resort we discovered it was not ready. The room hadn't been cleaned since the previous guests left. We were moved to another bungalow. We're we not as keen on the fact that we were to walk to our room after check in and wait for our luggage to be brought to us. There was a bit of a wait for the luggage. During our stay our mini bar was stocked only once and only because we called customer service to report this wasn't being looked after. The beach is rather rocky and you really need to were water socks. Most of the staff were very friendly, very nice people! Really made our stay a pretty positive one.
