Riu Palace Jamaica: Beautiful Resort

The food and rooms were amazing. The staff was very friendly and the service was awesome. The resort was very clean and well laid out. Was nice and small, everything was close. Only reason I would not rate it a 5 star is the beach is man made and not very nice. It was very murky and lots of seaweed. The sand was rough, not soft. I would definitely return.

Riu Palace Punta Cana: Disappointed

We just returned from a 7 day stay at the Riu Palace Punta Cana Everything about this hotel was average at best. Food & restaurants were disappointing. The grounds were well kept. Both myself & husband got sick even though we used only bottled water for everything including brushing our teeth, as told when we arrived.

Riu Negril: fantastic resort

the hotel is an excellent resort.The rooms were very clean and made up quickly every day and the room fridge restocked.The staff were very friendly and ready to help in any way.We had a problem with air conditioning and was resolved with a different room.The food was excellent.The beach was one the best we have been on.Calm water and great snorkeling.We went shopping and the prices were reasonable to very good.Its to bad the resort wasnt a little closer to the airport.I forgot to mention the ent [... read more]ertainment every night was good.Overall it was an excellent trip and would go back to this resort again.Thanks trip central.

Riu Palace Bavaro: not all Riu's are created equal

We have stayed at several Riu Palace's and this is by far not up too the standards that it should be. The food was exactly the same day after day. The beach was none existant in front of our hotel, just hugh boulders trying to stop tge errosion. The rating of the location really should be dropped down because there is no way it should have a 5 or 4.5 star or palace rating. Be careful just because it says it is on Bavaro beach doesn't mean the location is good. We made this mistake. Riu Playa Blanca: Great Time

I took my mom to this hotel for here 60th birthday. They were very accommodating. They made me a dinner reservation, brought her out a cake and the entertainment staff sang to her. They also upgraded our room to ocean front. The food was great. The only downside was that because the hotel wasn't full the closed 2 of the Al Le cart restaurants 2 nights in a row. The pools were nice. Loved how the looked right over the beach. kiddy pool was great for the kids. The staff was friendly and helpful. N [... read more]egative was that sunwig changed our flight the night before we flew down to a later flight so we had to pay for a delayed checkout. I would recommend this hotel :)

Riu Palace Las Americas: Halloween in Mexico!!

Let me start off with the best - THE SERVICE! Outstanding!!! The staff are amazing, hotel is beautiful, food was great! This trip ensured that we will only stay with RIU you cant go wrong! Awesome holida

Riu Caribe Cancun: Riu Caribe

The hotel was very modern, friendly staff and good service. The buffet was amazing. The steakhouse was not that good and the mexican was so so. Besides being very windy everyday the end of Oct the seaweed on the beach is an everyday occurrance and a nonstop cleaning process. We were there for 10 days, would I go there again, probably not. I prefer the Riu Cancun, the buffet seems a lot larger there. All and all it was very good.

Grand Memories Varadero: Great Resort

The RIU Varadero is a great resort. The grounds were kept trimmed and beautiful. The staff was fantastic! Very accommodating and friendly. I was in a group of 12, and we had a great visit. There was always a good selection of food at the buffet restaurant. Jorge and Renee at the swim up bar were outstanding. Some of our group would've liked to be closer to Varadero but it's just a quick cab ride in a fancy old car, or a bus ride away, so no big deal. Riu Vallarta: R&R @ RIU Vallarta

It is hard to explain in 200 words or less! Arrival, for some reason the staff anticipated our arrival and surprised us. The surprise was we usually take a cab and no one to my knowledge new we were coming-SURPRISE!! so FANTASTIC!! ROOM, I think the rooms do need some updating although clean and fresh everyday 2 twin beds together to make a King bed was really not great, also the bed itself very hard, just want you to know, not a big deal but we do like comfort. Fridge stocked well although we u [... read more]sed the water and club soda up everyday and found out they only came to the room every other day so we needed to remind front desk and they took care of it. FOOD It was fabulous no complaints! An update on decor maybe could be looked at. BEACH This is where we like to be. Clean and well maintained. If you had more service on the beach it would be great. The one person that worked the beach did a fantastic Job, made sure we had water and drinks for part of the day-thanks All in All a great week or so at your HOTEL, WE WILL BE BACK! Riu Flamingos: Amazing Resort

I stayed for 1 week at the Riu Jalisco. I had a amazing time. I would recommend this hotel to everyone. The food the atmosphere , the food, the location and the weather was amazing. I am planning my next trip to the same location with my family.

Riu Emerald Bay: great hotel!

Clean, great location, great view nice staff and good food. Elevators were a bit slow during certain periods but overall a great experience. Great balconies and a nice beach. Would definitely go back.

Riu Palace Bavaro: Nice modern resort.

We enjoyed our stay at the Riu Palace Bavaro. The good points include the room - great air conditioning, very clean, great maid service, beds a bit firm, but good. The jacuzzi tub was comfortable. The bar service was well run in the entertainment area. The servers were very friendly and efficient. The food had a good variety at the buffets all meals including lunch. The service at the a la carte restaurants was not very friendly. Our best service was at the Steakhouse. We went twice. We always t [... read more]ip and perhaps many guest do not and perhaps that is why the service seemed unfriendly at the a al carte restaurants. VIP section was nice, but not much special treatment other than our adult only pool. Should have had more waiter service dedication. Bar should have stayed open in the evening the same as the Sensimar section. I heard this section was primarily for the Europeans. Or they could have allowed the VIP people to access the pool bar in the evening. The coffee bar should open at 8 am rather than 10 am. The front desk personnel were very friendly as well as our towel/pool attendants in all areas. Overall, we would recommend this resort.

Sol Turquesa Beach: quiet and relaxing

The resort was a big spacious place to enjoy Cuban nature and relax. The food was good and plentiful. We enjoyed the spacious room with a balcony. The beach was well kept and the non motorized water sports were enjoyable. We would go here again given the opportunity

Riu Guanacaste: Great resort!

The hotel is really beautiful. I loved the grounds and the people so friendly. The beach is great. The pool also amazing. The buffet restaurant had a variety of food to please everyone. The only negative was the steak restaurant did not enjoy the menu.

Riu Playa Blanca: Nice Resort

Brand new resort. Sunwing rep very helpful and available. Food was very good, lots of variety. The new airport is open so it is only a 15 minute drive to this hotel! The beach is gorgeous to look at and great for taking walks. But the beach water is hit and miss as there is a river (one property away) that flows from the rain forest into the ocean which bring debris (leaves & branches) and murky water. Riu Palace Costa Rica: Heaven on earth

My wife and I spent a week here, early Nov., 2014. This hotel iss beautiful. The staff are very polite, friendly and helpful. The food in the buffet and a la carte restaurants was both plentiful and excellent. There is a 24h room stocked with hot snacks, pour your own beer and wine, and an easy to use espresso, cappucino, etc maker. The bars were well staffed and effucient, little or no waiting. Wine was from Chile poured right from the bottle. Rooms were spacious, clean, his n her sink and grea [... read more]t shower. Gardenview room as good as oceanview because ocean is 500m away. Pools were superb, stand up bar, lounges built right in water. There is no quiet pool when activities go on (10:30~12:30 and 2:30~4:30). Beach is clean semi hard sand easy to walk but BROWN not white. We did Nicaragua tour, long day but worth it, even the 2h border crossing with ebolla check.

Grand Memories Varadero: Good Value

For all the stories that you here about Cuba this hotel was very good. The rooms were very clean and the food had something for everyone. Only complaints are the beds were really hard and be prepared for no spices in food. Some people that we traveled with brought spices, an onion, and Ketchup.

Riu Palace Paradise Island: Great Resort!

This was my second time at the Riu Paradise Island and I will definitely be going back. It is a small resort with all the amenities needed and is easy walking distance to shopping & Atlantis. The RIU is very clean with good food and nice & helpful staff. We did the Grill a la carte which was fantastic and the Japanese which was also very good. The buffet was plentiful with a good variety. Our room was comfy, clean and had a lovely with a great view. Cant wait to go back.

Riu Palace Paradise Island: Beautiful place to visit

This is an outdated hotel but it is still a beautiful place to visit. The beaches were clean and charming but unfortunately for us when we went it was very windy which meant that the red flags were up so we were not able to go into the water. The food was good and the view in our room on the 15th floor was a perfect combination of the pool below and the ocean on the right. I would definitely go back with the hopes of a bit better weather.

Riu Palace Costa Rica: Amazing

I have stayed at many resorts across the Caribbean and this was by far the best. The staff went above and beyond they were just so happy to help you with anything you might need or want. The food was great. Gina in the buffet is a sweat heart. Dennis the server on the beachfront was great. Go, relax you won't be disappointed! The animation crew work so hard to make sure you have a great vacation. The nighty shows were incredible.
