Barcelo Bavaro Palace: Family Resort

We just returned from a week at the Barcelo Bavaro Palace. We travelled as a family of 10 including 4 children aged 4 months to 6. The Palace is a family resort with many activities for kids. They particularly enjoyed the water park. The resort and the grounds are beautiful and very well maintained, with staff constantly cleaning. The buffet was fairly standard and the a la cartes were good. Check in and dinner reservations were a breeze and we did not pay for the upgrade. The beach is beautif [... read more]ul, perfect for kids with lots of palm trees for shade.. We only saw one show however it was very well done. We stayed in building 5 which was close to everything. The rooms are large and were cleaned promptly, yes there is a lack of privacy in the bathroom area. We had a couple of minor issues in the room: the safe needed new batteries and the iron did not work, Both issues resolved very promptly. All of the staff were friendly and helpful, the service was great all over the resort. We would definitely recommend this resort.

Iberostar Waves Dominicana: Average hotel

We have stayed at this hotel a few times but this year noticed the food selection at buffet was very low budget. Breakfast was the best, lunches and suppers always had hot dogs and pre made hamburgers, food was always room temperature. Shows were not well advertised and animation team spent more time chatting with each other then engaging guests. Impressive Punta Cana: Very impressive resort!

Just back from two great weeks in ocean view room (24214). Asked for quiet, smoke free, king room and it was perfect. Huge clean beach. Choice of pools. Lots of chairs. No need to run out at 6am to put towel on chair. Good selection of ala cartes with no waiting. Beautiful grounds. Thanks to Bismarck for his advice and help.

Bahia Principe Explore Esmeralda: Huge Resort

Bahia Principe Esmerelda is a small part of the Bahia Principe Resort which is 7 resorts in 1. The grounds are beautiful. Rooms are a little dated but clean. Beach is amazing. Buffets are smaller than other resorts I've been to. A la cartes were hard to get a decent time or get into them. Capucino machines should be 24 hrs just a suggestion. All in all we were going for sun and beach and we did get it and it was awesome.

Bahia Principe Explore Punta Cana: Worth the price.

The rooms are becoming a little dated. The beach buffet could be improved. Very busy and not enough seating. Need to hit the beach and pool early morning to obtain chairs. Overall, the staff were very helpful, friendly. Well worth the stay. Food and drinks were good. Shows were good.

Iberostar Selection Bavaro Suites: Never again

Sollicitation, sollicitation, non stop all week long. Some employees ask for money in exchange of little "extras", and two men in charge of activities (entertainment) had a fight (twice) during an evening show. Small families were affraid and going back to their room. The hotel is nice, food is average, but good enough, the beach is excellent, but people reserve chairs all day by leaving their towels, even if they don't show up. Domenican people working there don't smile much, you fell you bothe [... read more]r them, except those who have something to sell (stuff or service). We never saw Air Transat rep, we had a hard time finding the transportation at the airport. We traveled about ten times in our life, and we don't generaly complain about small things, that is part of travelling. This is the worst trip we had. No more Iberostar, and no more Domenican Republic.

Majestic Mirage Punta Cana All Suite Resort: Nice Resort

We had a swim up pool room. It was very large and bed was comfortable. Unfortunately our room was right in front of the swim up bar so we didn't have any privacy and people had been sitting there all day drinking. It would have been better if we were away from the bar. Food was good, we liked the Japanese and the Steak House restaurants. Beach was amazing and the water was lovely. Shows at night were very good. Tennis courts were nice, gym was nothing special. The resort doesn't have a " [... read more]main pool" area that is large and our kids missed that.

TRS Turquesa: excellent time in Dominican Republic

1st The palladium is a very nice resort. Friendly people. a good choice of restaurant. Famous landscaping Excellent transportation within the resort. Gorgeous beaches as far as we can see Beautiful large room 2nd The Melia the same opportunities as above + the use of catamaran On both resorts, the night show need some improvement Overall great vacation & only 4hrs flight ! TRS Turquesa: Not a 5 star

To start with the positives, all staff were friendly, especially the bar staff and the drinks were of premium quality. I went with friends and had a fun time. However, food was mainly cold and of not good quality and the service in some of the restaurants was bad or at least hit and miss from one day to the next. Rooms were old and worn, chipped furniture, mold in showers, filthy toilet door and bathtub, rusty bathroom fixtures and the mattress was awful, very uncomfortable to sleep on.  [... read more] The staff try, they try hard, but do not deliver. It took 6 days and numerous requests to various staff (and tips) to get wine glasses in our room, just to have them taken away again the next day and not replaced. Oddly the parties we went with had wine glasses in their room upon arrival. Some room features that were promised to be in the room, were just not. No 4 bottles of alcohol etc etc. Not a bad plce, but nowhere near a 5 star and not worth the money.

Hyatt Vivid Punta Cana: Wonderful vacation at Dreams Palm Beach

Wonderful vacation at Dreams Palm Beach. The grounds are beautiful and so well kept. The staff are polite, friendly and very accommodating - anything to help you. Exceptional service by Joanna at the lobby bar and Irwin at the pool bar. Francisco kept us laughing every time we saw him. The food is great and the buffet has something new to offer each day including a special food station for children. The chef prepares a new dish pool side each day in a huge paella pan. Even offers a cooking lesso [... read more]n.The rooms, public areas and grounds are kept very clean. There is a variety of entertainment and activities offered every day. I hope to return again as we had a delightful holiday at Dreams.

Barcelo Bavaro Beach: Wonderful Relaxing Resort

The grounds on this resort are outstanding....the beach is absolutely beautiful!.....staff are very friendly and helpful....food selection is varied...sure to find something for every pallet.....For those wanting more activities or night life....the Bávaro Palace provides that just a short walk away.....Bávaro Beach provides a quiet relaxed environment for adults wanting to just get away and chill out.

Melia Punta Cana Beach Wellness Resort Adults: Melia Punta Cana Feb 2019

Overall the hotel was good with no major deficiencies. Grounds of the hotel were well maintained as was the pool area. The beach was large with ample lounge chairs and cover. Rooms were dated and average but clean and the bed was comfortable. Food was fine, we like the choice of “a al carte” restaurants for dinner as break from the buffets for breakfast and lunch. Hyatt Vivid Punta Cana: Amazing resort

This is my 3 times there 3 years in row will never change resort the staff is awesome made us special night in the restaurant à la carte. Brought me a cake and sing me happy birthday right on the resort outside when it was singing and dancing. Food is awesome bring u drinks right on the beach no need to get up. Dreams Onyx Resort and Spa: Great resort

Had a great time at now onyx Punta Cana. The rooms, property, and staff were all outstanding. In particular, the wait staff on the beach were great, especially Mariya. The food was very good, but on occasion it lacked a bit of quality. For instance, I ordered spaghetti bolognese at the Italian restaurant, Capers, and it was not very good. I asked my daughter to try it, and she said it reminded her of the canned spaghetti she ate as a child.

Barcelo Bavaro Palace: 3 couples, golf and fun

We returned from the resort on Sunday, March 3, 2019. This was our 2nd trip as we went last year too. I have to say we had not one complaint. The staff at this hotel are amazing, you can tell that they are treated well by management as they are happy to work there. Everything from check-in, housekeeping, food, bar service (Luz and Victor at the pool bar) was perfect. A few of the staff even remembered us from last year. We will return next year for sure. Bahia Principe Explore Punta Cana: Beautiful and amazing .

This resort is very clean, front desk staff not all were helpful . Food was good,empty tray on buffet table took along time to be replace,restaurants were good but not the Italian one will not recommend . Had a problem to arrange La carte dinner for my husband's birthday manager Raul went out of his way making sure we got what we needed. Overall good resort.

Bahia Principe Explore Punta Cana: Very good! But....

We enjoyed our trip in Grand Bahia Principe Punta Cana. Food is good 4.5 of 5 stars. Alcohol 3.5/5 *, it depends on bar you are drinking. The Beach is really good 4.5/5. The are some negative things. First, there is no WI FI in the room.... It's sad guys! Really sad. 4.5* hotel and you have to pay for WI FI? Secondly, some of the staff is not very friendly. It's kinda weird for me. Bahia Principe Escape Ambar: A big improvement from last year

We have been going to the Ambar every year for the past 10 years. This year they have upgraded this part of the resort to compete with the luxury resort market. We were very impressed with the upgrades and with the new swim up pool. The buffet food seemed better than previous years and the service was excellent.

Bahia Principe Escape Aquamarine: Wonderful resort!!

Very well cared, nice staff, excelent accommodations!! My only complain is about Wi-Fi - it is not nice to have to refresh it every 24 hours and I had mine expired at 6pm the night before departure. Wi-Fi should be available all the time during the stay. When you are gone, you do not use it anymore. Food: buffet is sort of ok, A la carte - very good!

Bahia Principe Escape Ambar: Absolutely amazing

I was impressed with this resort from the minute we arrived. The food is amazing. The swim out room we booked was so worth it. The beach is incredible. I can go on and on about how beautiful it is at Ambar. The service and staff were great and I would definitely rate this hotel a luxury 5 star.
