Grand Muthu Runaway Bay Club Caribbean: Great resort

Knowing this hotel was not a 5 star, I was still happy with the hotel in general. The hotel was constantly being cleaned and maintain. We stayed in the courtyard room, it was a bit outdated but I didn't really mind since I was going to be on the beach more than in the room. We didn't have hot water on the day of arrival and departure...so ended up taking cold showers out of desperation. Mosquitoes were surprisingly not as bad as I thought...there were a few in the room that we tried to get rid o [... read more]f, but I only got bit once, and it was on the last day I was there. Not sure how the bugs would be in the garden cottage areas. The beach was nice, we went to the first beach the most. I found it had less rocks in the water, stepping on a rock was a pain. Food was good, my favourite was the Jamaican themed meals. They had a snack grill which served burgers, hot dogs, patties, wings. They have tennis lessons, but apparently are not included, the guy doesn't tell you until after you have booked your lesson and show up, and then only teaches one part of the lesson and keeps trying to get you to come back...that was a bit annoying. Right outside the resort there is a strip plaza with a grocery store and gift shops that are ran by the locals. As soon as you step out the gate some of the locals are waiting to sell you weed or what ever other items they have. The resort was about an hour from Montego Bay Airport, the drive wasn't too bad, I enjoyed the scenic drive. The entertainment is excellent. They had great shows and they like involving the guest a lot. I really have no complains about this hotel a side from having no hot water. If you don't really mind having an outdated room, then you will enjoy this resort.

Bahia Principe Explore Jamaica: expect a 4 star resort caliber

Resort in overall was nice. I found the rooms were always nice and clean. Food in overall could have been better. During lunch at the beach, I found that food was not replenished fast enough, and many times they would run out of Jerk Chicken or there were huge line ups to get the chicken. The ala carte diners were nicely presented and tasty. I found the night shows were just ok. We really enjoyed the nightly specialty drinks, they always made some really nice drinks.

Bahia Principe Explore Jamaica: beautiful resort

Nice and clean. ...the food was amazing but found the resort a little too big and not as personal...rarely saw the same staff member twice. Lots of things to do close by. The beach was nice and some good snorkeling by the nude beach.

Catalonia Montego Bay: Great Place for Families

We just returned from the Holiday Inn Sunspree in Jamaica. We were a group of 8 adults. The staff at this resort should be commended for their friendly and helpful nature. All staff had a smile and a ya man everyday. The rooms are cleaned and stocked daily and the resort is immaculate. Orville (water sports) was our favorite of the week. He tried to ensure we were having a great time and told us many interesting facts about Jamaica. We took a day trip to Negril, 7 mile beach, yellow bird, the cave and Ricks Cafe for cliff diving. I would recommend this resort to anyone that has small kids.

Rooms On The Beach: Get what you pay for!

Took a quick wedding anniversary getaway because I saw an ad on trip central for Oceanview Jr. suite. My room was not an ocean view spot, however the hotel was good enough for the price we paid. Overall not a bad place

Hedonism II: Lots of improvements!!

Grounds are much nicer, food was fabulous, new owners have really brought this resort back. Know what this resort is before going, as Hedo is not for everyone. Most people are on the nude side all day long. Also check out the theme nights, try to bring one or two themed outfits. It is a very kick backed resort with a nude/adventurous side.

Bahia Principe Explore Jamaica: Amazing resort

We were here for New Years - girls vacation. When we arrived we upgraded to the Luxury - Don Pablo section, but kept our room in the Golden section as it had the most amazing views of the pools and ocean. The luxury section was great - we ate at the a la carte restaurants every night except the first. This was a great feature. We also had use of the adults only pool - which when its a girls week away and you've left kids at home, this is very nice. You can't duplicate the friendly service of this place. It's a great all inclusive. All inclusives are NOT the same as high end a la carte travel. If you go knowing this, you'll enjoy yourself.

Bahia Principe Escape Runaway Bay: Great Resort, not Luxury!

Great food, amazing weather, average rooms and great pool. Beach nothing to write home about and either great service or poor service. The adult side was worth the upgrade!!!! Separate breakfast and lunch buffet. You don't have to reserve seating at the pool.

Grand Decameron Montego Beach: Had a geat time at the Royal Decameron

Great resort with a new beautiful beach, food is fantastic, great layout with everything close by. I plan on returning soon. The entertainment was a lot of fun. Right on the Hip Strip and very close to Margaritaville

Bahia Principe Explore Jamaica: Average Spent good money NO WOW

Average rooms eh ocean view not a ah carpets stink hallway ocean nice barbeque lunch beach was nice entertainment eh overall 3plus. regretably paid to much for the value I expected much more been to punta and mexico far better service at other bahia this is the worst one in my oppinion and I am not that picky see for yourself

Bahia Principe Explore Jamaica: Gran Bahai Principe Runaway Bay...Beautiful Resort

A huge resort with lots to offer. Friendly hotel staff. Restaurants and Food were delicious with lots of options! The jerk chicken by the beach was amazing along with the guy at the bbq. LOL. Disappointed with our room. It was supposed to be OCEAN VIEW! Confirm you get an ocean view room at check in or you will look onto the parking lot.

Riu Ocho Rios: This is a 3.5* - terrible service, roaches, dirty.

This is a 3.5 star resort at the most. Terrible service, terrible food, dirty, roaches, ants in bathroom, old resort that needs Lot of repairs, most of the beach chairs are broken-- for more details see my review on trip advisor (Paula Owens) I go into a lot of detail in this review.

Grand Palladium Lady Hamilton: Beautiful and spacious

Resort and rooms are beautiful, clean and very well kept. Enough space around the pools and on the beach. Always enough chairs and towels. Matrass could have been a little softer. Food is very well prepared and lots of variety. Very friendly and helpful staff. Didn't like the line-ups outside the theme restaurants and buffets. Waiting time were too long and people got frustrated from waiting to be seated, while there were empty tables inside. It seems like there were not enough staff on hand to  [... read more]handle the dining rooms or kitchens. Once inside, though, the service and food were amazing. Very friendly and helpful staff. Very knowledgeable when it comes to food allergies and they try hard to accommodate all dietary requirements. I would definitely recommend this resort and I would go back, hoping they have the restaurant situation all sorted out!

Bahia Principe Explore Jamaica: So So beautiful.

This resort was amazing. It was very large however it felt like one big happy family. All staff were wonderful especially our "maid" . I loved the room , the ocean, the pool and yes the swim up bar. The food was spectacular. We have traveled to many all inclusive resorts but this by far was the best. Great job to all. Thank you!!!!

Sunset at the Palms: Very good resort

Just came back from Sunset. I like the beach. Very good quality food. The room can be cleaned better. Dust was everywhere. Another minus was Mosquitos. They bite and and also send fleas. The busy road was very close and noisy. Grounds are very pretty and looked after. The staff are very nice everybody. Overall good experience. Drinks are very nice and I like sparkling vine for breakfast.

Riu Ocho Rios: Incredible Vacation

We stayed in the deluxe wing from December 27 2014 to January 3 2015. We travelled as a family with our daughter and son in law and our son and future daughter in law. From the moment we stepped on to the property until our departure we had a wonderful vacation. Our check in was superb...very fast, professional and extremely friendly and welcoming. Our rooms were what we expected, clean and comfortable. We had booked three ocean front rooms and we got what we asked for. Our room had a great view, but the other two had the cement railing and a smaller balcony, but it was really no big deal. The food was amazing. Always a lot of choices in the buffet. The breakfast buffet was our favourite, several choices of yogurt, eggs, omelet stations, breads etc. We had and have read a few negative reviews regarding the food...personally, we never had an issue. I am always amazed that some people find the smallest things to complain about. The new year's eve buffet was impressive...from the shrimp tree to the ice sculptures, the staff went above and beyond. The grounds and the resort itself was beautiful and the gardeners, maids, etc., work tirelessly to keep it this way. Now for the pool bar staff....Tyrone is a gem. Always friendly, always upbeat and always there with a big smile with a new drink for you to try. We never found they asked for tips...he just did his job, and if given one, huge thanks, but not necessary. We found the beach and ocean to be very clean. We walked the beach several times a day, down past the public area and on to the little vendor at the end of the beach. Great deals by him. Tasmine, with Nexus, arranged a golf day for my husband and son in law...called over to the golf course office to find out conditions for the day, made sure they got a good deal, right down to the taxi ride. This was our third time visiting Jamaica, our family's first. We have stayed at the Riu Montego Bay and a different resort. We loved the Riu Montego Bay, but we loved the grandeur of the one in Ocho Rios. Negatives...the long 2 hr. shuttle to and from the airport. Also, we found the entertainment to be very good, but very loud. We wound up sitting by the front lobby where we could still hear it at a comfortable level. Unfortunately, one of the big negatives were some of the guests. As I said, we stayed in the adult section, and there were some parents with older teens (18+), and the teens stayed in their own rooms...we had a couple of nights when the noise level was almost unbearable...slamming doors, yelling, staggering down the hallway and banging things, but once New Year's day came, this seemed to stop. We can't fault the resort for rude guests.

Grand Palladium Lady Hamilton: Nothing to write home about

First off on the bus trip to the hotel which is only about 40 minutes the bus driver stopped off about 15 minutes from the resort so we could have a drink and told us that it was a lot cheaper than the ones we got at the airport. (ya right) it was the same price $6.00 american for a drink. why would he stop that close when we could have been at the resort drinking for free?(just asking) We get to the resort and get to the front of the line to be told because we are imperial we get special check  [... read more]in to go to the other side of the lobby to stand in line. When we got our bracelet and envelope you might have thought that was it but NO we had to go again and stand in the LONG line up where we were the first time to get our key. Paying the extra money for imperial means nothing as we were to get a view but got on the 1st floor and faced another building whereas people we talked to that did not pay the extra got oceanview and third floor. Got to our room and key did not work, fridge was warm , safe would not work, and patio door would not lock (remember ground floor and was there with my sister). The maintenence crew did come and fix everthing and were very nice. We landed at 12:30 and by that time it was after 6:00 . A bottle of rum and fruit plate were to be in the room along with slippers and robe. Rum (small bottle) and fruit plate arrived after been informed on the 3rd day . On the 4th day we got a room on the 3rd floor with a view. On the 4th day we got our slippers and on the 5th day we got our robe. We wanted to get away after the busy Christmas we had and took to the beach and pool areas to read a good book only to have loud music playing the same CD over and over again, needless to say I kept reading the same pages over and over again. To round things up it was the worst check in ever and I travel a good deal but all was not a total loss as the people are friendly and the food was good. Only one bar quit a ways from our room had the premium liquor , so they should have all the bars with it in NOT just the one.

Royalton Negril Resort And Spa: Great Value for the money

The beach, food, staff, cleanliness and comfort of the bed are great. The rooms are dated, especially the bathrooms. Water pressure is a problem when showering at certain times. Wifi access is spotty at certain times of the day. However, overall good resort.

Jewel Runaway Bay Resort: Best Time Ever

This is my third trip to the Jewel Runaway Bay and our first time bringing the kids, although our kids are 16 and 19 they had an amazing time, we all enjoyed the beach and the entertainment was ongoing from morning to night. We especially enjoyed the New Years dinner and entertainment and the beach party with bomb file and smores. My husband enjoyed the complimentary green fees across the street so he didn't have to spend his vaca on a shuttle to and from the gold course. Frederick and Austin were the best at the 24hr outdoor grill and all the night time beach bar staff were amazing. Thank-you Jewel's see you next year :)

Club Ambiance: Diamond in the Rough Resort

Club Ambiance is a great small adult resort to relax and escape from the stress of the real world. Most of the staff try very hard to please guests. The rooms are clean and large and there is good customer service for the most part. The resort needs a make over or refreshment in areas like paving parking lots and entryways. Painting throughout entry ways to room and needs a refresh too. The Nude, Clothing Optional, and Prude are cute but man made and not large or real beaches. The grounds are be [... read more]autiful. The buffet food is average and repetitive but safe. No food poisoning here. Selection was repetitive and minimal daily. Dinner was at 7pm..but the set up of the buffet was never ready on time...Expect Jamaican time. Otherwise there is not much to see directly outside the resort. Excursion trips are fun and worth doing. Jamaica is natural and beautiful. Most of the staff try really hard to make guests happy and are very pleasant. If you need reliable Wi-Fi this is not the resort to go to for that. I would return to this beautiful resort if it had a few upgrades to make it a diamond. For a three start resort you certainly get your moneys worth. More of a straight folks resort. Gay friendly perhaps but no gay couples or single guests evident which for me was a negative.
