Bahia Principe Escape Samana: Awesome resort!

This was one of the best places we've stayed at. The room's were spotless, grounds well taken care of, food was good, (seafood night was my favorite) the Don Pablo restaurant highly recommend, service was top notch - they were all very attentive and you being happy seemed to be their top priority.

Just returned last night. Best resort ever! Room #222 ~ beautiful view of the sea! Travelled with another couple. Room was beautiful. Staff were all warm & friendly. Food was great. 24 hr. butler service! We only used it for softer pillows & scented oils that they burn in your room each night, if requested. Our friends used it for room service ( meal brought in - breakfast ). No fee! We tipped. cleaning staff were excellent , kept fridge filled with the same items each day. Pop, water, beer- Dos [... read more] Equis! mini bottles of rum, vodka & scotch. two bags of potatoe chips! they also turned the bed down two evenings with chocolates on the bed , linens on the floor to wipe your feet before bed! ( this is while we were at dinner ). We liked the Don Pablo Restaurant. Never tried the other two . We were happy with the buffet. This resort is small and quaint. never a line for anything! I think there was a total of 134 people at the resort when we were there. There was always evening shows, we never made one! In bed by 10 ... Tons of chairs by the pool and beach... "saving" chairs wasn't needed!!! Tons of sitting spots. Beach was nice. Not huge. If you like long walks...not going to happen. Lots of rock cliffs. Servers were great, not alot of english. .. but kind. YOU NEVER SAW FIGHTING FOR ATTENTION OR TIPS, they appear to share what ever is given. If you are looking for a party, this is not the place. It is quiet. It was exactly what we wanted... spend the days by the pool reading, laughing and drinking! we were ready for bed by ten! all adult... so quiet.. no loud music playing at the pool. The activity staff were fun... but not in your face. Bingo, golf putting, horse shoes on the beach ...dance lessons. ( if... you wanted!) older crowd (50+).. a few young couples! teenagers would be bored! two small shops... absolutely no vendors come on resort. Very private & secure. The wine is excellent ( both red & white ) & I am a wine drinker. ( finer wines if you want to purchase ) many premium alcohols.. kahluha..absolute vodka, grand marnier... draft beer ~ presidente. I could go on & on ... we will return next year. One thing we forgot ... bug spray ! & use it! We all got a few bites here and there. If you do not like stairs or have bad knees... not the place for you...it is one hour & 8 minutes from the airport to the resort... Go ... we have travelled many times ... this was our favourite so far ...

Bahia Principe Explore Akumal: Loved this resort!

This resort is geared to accomodate a mature crowd by making them feel relaxed and comfortable. Anyone seeking to enjoy great food/drinks, entertained and pampered with 24/7 service should stay here. My only issue was the suite washrooms were a bit under developed for such a nice resott.

Bahia Principe Escape Ambar: Mixed Feelings

What to say about a resort that truly is set in a tropical paradise? The LUXURY Bahia Principe Ambar Blue was a mix of good and very bad..I feel that it really does not deserve the adjective of Luxury except in the proximity of this section of the massive resort, to the beach. It was indeed a luxury not to have to take a shuttle every day to the beach. The rooms were what should be expected from a good hotel chain, except for the overlying smell of mold and mildew which I am sure was not help [... read more]ed by the flooding of our bathroom and Bedroom by a plumbing problem in the suite above ours in the late hours of the night. No one was sent to clean up and we spent the rest of the night with water dripping on our heads as we used the facilities. The food was, well I may as well say it, YUCKIE!!!! No fresh juices, the coffee overbrewed (maybe that is why the cups are so terribly small), eggs over easy was not a term that was recognized, requests for featured dinner items were met with uncomprehending looks. Most staff tried to be helpful but on average they were so rushed that many orders were returned 2 or 3 times. Ambar Blue is an Adults only facility but when you close the pool bar at 5, that designation was simply unjustified. The entertainment area was small and could not accomodate the guests who wanted to participate. So would I go back to this hotel? Not a chance. The Grand Bahia Principe chain has sadly (for me) lost a formerly satisfied guest.

Bahia Principe Explore Coba: Excellent Holiday

This is our 8th time here,Dec 11th to 18th. We had a very good week at the Coba Premier . A nice quiet junior suite close to the Buffet and Lobby. We had great hot weather, great service . We tried several A La Carte Restaurants and all made us feel like a somebody. This year the Japanese restaurant waiter Angel was the best. The best Filet Mignon goes to the Gourmet Coba . Bahia Principe Explore Tulum: Disappointing beach

The beach is very rocky and "gated" so one can't swim in the knee high deep water. I didn't like the restrictions and limitations. No lights on tennis courts was another disappointment. All restaurants open at the same no chance for 24/7 food access. And, don't go with Air Canada, the flight experience is the nightmare.

People were great Food was above standard Price was reasonable for what you received Resort was fantastic Great transportation system shuttling you from resort to resort Could also take advantage of the other Bahia Principe a-la-carte restaurants Lots of excursions and things to do Would definitely look at going again to one of the Bahia Principe resorts in Punta Cana

Bahia Principe Explore El Portillo: Amazing resort!

This is the best hotel I ever been for winter holidays! The beach of the hotel is great. Of course if you just want to swim and walk, it is just like other beaches. But the best part is snorkling. We spent all the time snorkling in the sea and it just steps away from the beach! Food was great! Highly recommend Brazial and French restaurents. Buffet is good enough too. Rooms are huge and clean. Safe box is free to use, but a bit complicate to know how to set password. Bathroom is big and bright. Day trips hosted by hotel is reasonable priced. We had a lot of fun! Highly recommend National Park day trip and Zipline. Zip line is so exciting~

Bahia Principe Escape Ambar: Would not go again.

The rooms were nice and big, but we had leaking from up above. Also the toilet handle kept sticking and the water would run, till you adjust it. Also the room service was very bad. If you needed extra hangers, extra towels, more ice etc, it took for ever. None if the buildings gave you an ocean view room, even though the tourist company did it does comes with it. It was not a 5* resort at all, more like a 4*. We never had a calm water day. Everyday there was a yellow or red flag at the beach. Very choppy the waters. In the restaurants the service was very bad. Many times you had to repeat yourself 3-4 times to get any service. Really disappointed. I would not go again, nor recommend this resort to any of my friends.

Bahia Principe Explore Punta Cana: Amazing but Big

Hotel room was wonderful 3 Pools and walking distance to a lovely Sandy Beach only complaint is too far to walk to Main Lobby for Meals had to take a trolley everywhere. When you got to the Lobby there was wonderful live shows and Buffet.

Bahia Principe Explore Esmeralda: Horrible resort

The hotel looks beautiful. But it ends there. The food is horrible. I was sick for 5 days while there and there were a number of other visitors who were also ill. If you want alcohol in your drink you have to ASK for it! If you order a daiquiri and don't say with alcohol you will receive virgin drinks! First resort I have ever been to where this is their policy!

Bahia Principe Explore El Portillo: Great deal, hidden gem

Best thing about this hotel is probably the food. Overall very good. Lots of quality buffet selections, à la cartes are all great, Brazilian was our fave. Some of the best beef and chicken we've ever had anywhere. Beach is nice, coral just feet off shore makes for some fun snorkeling. Small pool but we aren't pool people. Overall great place, a hidden gem. Friendly stray beach dogs are fun to play with, they stay off the resort beach

Bahia Principe Explore El Portillo: Fantastic Resort!

The resort itself was first class. Everything you want in an all inclusive resort. Great food (each of the A La Cartes and the snack bar and buffet), beautiful beach, very clean rooms and buildings, genuine and helpful staff and lots of things to do to keep you busy and entertained. The best feature for us was the great people that were working while we were at the resort. Everyone was very nice and quick to help with anything. The beach is more of a Snorkelling beach than anything as there is a [... read more] natural reef about 20-50 feet out depending on the part of the beach you're on. Lots of chair availablility on the beach and lots of sun and shade to go around. Outside of the resort, there are two warnings I have to give.. 1) make sure to fly into Samana, if not, be prepared for a 3+ hour drive to the resort from Puerto Plata. 2) We noticed that the area around the resort is quite dirty and found our excursion destinations very polluted and not exactly what we expected. Be especially aware of the Horseback Ride and Hike to the waterfall El Limon. You may end up on a donkey and the routes were very treacherous and my girlfriend and I felt uncomfortable and unprepared for the trip and we both ride here in Canada. Just a heads up so you're aware if you choose this excursion. In conclusion, we couldn't have been happier with the resort itself. What an incredible place to spend a week out of the snow!! Bahia Principe Explore Jamaica: Nice Resort - had some issues

Beach and Pools were nice and clean. The staff were all really friendly and helpful. Food was not amazing it was average. For a 5-Star resort I was expecting better food at the buffet and more selection. The hotel pre-booked our A Le Carte's and booked us on the same day as the wedding. We were promised four A Le Carte's but only received 1. They wouldn't do anything for the pre bookings so I was disappointed by that. We also lost power for multiple days which was a bit annoying. I wo [... read more]uld have felt better if the hotel management would have let us know what was going on, why the power was out, and what they were doing to fix it. Instead we were left in the dark...literally. Thank goodness we were down there with a good group of people. We definitely did not have a 5-star experience but enjoyed the weather and the company of each other none the less.

Bahia Principe Explore Jamaica: The good and bad

We went to this resort with 19 people and had a great time. The pool area was great jerk chicken fabulous, lots of pool chairs, and we had no issues with power outages while we were there. This hotel is not rated properly and I would consider it to be no more than a 3 star hotel for the following reasons: the hallway carpets are extremely dirty and need to be replaced, the a la carte restaurants are fully booked at at all times and you cannot make reservations in advance for a large group ce [... read more]lebrating a special event (not even for 1 night), the beach is rocky and small, rooms were often not made up and typical services (towels) had to be asked for repeatedly.

Bahia Principe Explore Jamaica: Great resort!

The grounds were kept neat and tidy. The rooms were always clean and large. Lots of room for a king size bed , a desk area with a couch, and a beautiful view on the balcony. They are working on changing the carpet in the hallways. They need it. And I find that there is a charge for the room safe. I did not like that part of my stay. I think the safe should be included. Other than that we had a really good time and all of the staff were friendly.

Bahia Principe Escape Ambar: Fantastic week at the ambar green!

Our week stay at the luxury Bahia principe ambar green was absolutely amazing. The hotel itself is beautiful... the grounds are so well kept and very green. Not many flowers but lots of palm trees everywhere. The pool great too. We found it relaxing at night sitting on a lounge chair with the stars out. Lots of fish and meat.. fresh vegetables and fruit as well!! The beach was beautiful. We were lucky not to get seaweed where we were like the rest of beach had. Lots of hits but hey there early like 6:30 if you want to sit close to the water. Staff was really helpful and always smiling. It was really a great vacation.

Bahia Principe Explore Tulum: Really nice resort

We found this to be quite a nice resort. The buffet food was better than the average resort. We really liked the kid's water park at the Coba side of the property. The quality fo the cocktails was a bit less than expected though. We also found the a la cart restaurant reservation system to be hard to deal with. The beach is pretty nice but has really rocky areas, but there are also some nicer areas. Loved that they have Sea Doo and other water sports on the property.

Bahia Principe Grand Bavaro: Not the best we've been to

No complaints about the accommodation - room cleaning service was good and the grounds were well kept and attractive. The food was adequate but started to become monotonous after a few days. The a la carte venues were good. The entertainment was particularly lacking in quality and few of the productions lived up to the standard one would expect of a resort of that caliber. Bahia Principe Explore Esmeralda: Best Resort Yet!

This was our first trip to Punta Cana and the Dominican Republic. We were pleasantly surprised by our hotel, the Luxury Bahia Principe Esmeralda. Our room was clean and spacious, the food was excellent, and we were very close to the beautiful, sandy beach. We walked for hours on the beach every day, and joined in some of the recreational activities, particularly, yoga and water exercises.
