Memories Caribe Beach Resort: Ok resort

Beach was beautiful, noseeums are really bad, random hot water, food not so great. We got to resort at 11:30am and could not get into our room until 4pm so If your flight arrives early be prepared to wait until 4pm before you get your room. Some staff awesome, some not so much, girl booking a la carte dinners could use a brush up on customer service skills. Probably will not return to this resort.

Playa Pesquero: Nice vacation

Hotel is too large to get the rest. It is so many people and is very noisy. Also is too inconvienience to go anywhere. Iberostar Selection Varadero: Little gem...

23rd time in Cuba...After trip during covid we decided to go somewhere else this year. But after reading reviews from this resort we give Cuba another chance and Bingoooooo. Resort is very professionally run. Clean, well maintained, with good service. Great beach that was cleaned every day and pools. Both have lots of palapas and umbrellas. We never were sick in Cuba and never hungry. More food varieties in buffet and if you ask you can get almost everything. Staff is really trying to do somethi [... read more]ng from nothing. When comes to a la carte restaurants they need lots to improve. Menu should be printed out to avoid misunderstanding and take time to make choice...some times you have no choice at all. Japanese Restaurant definitely need more meat in meal that they provide and another restaurant is serving lobster soup that is really bad. Over all food was good. Bares should provide more quality alcohols and cocktails and drinks should be made the same way by every bartender. But this is Cuba...still learning. We are diffinetevly coming back next year. It was a good vacation.

Vila Gale Cayo Santa Maria: Amazing Beach

One of the best hotels in Cuba. If you are going to Cuba to enjoy the beach then this resort is right for you. The variety of food is not great but I expected and do not bother me at all. Room is very comfy.

Gran Muthu Imperial: Médiocre!

You are showing the wrong picture! This is not the resort we stayed in, Cayo Guillermo Beach very deceiving, rocks and lots of weeds Food was ok , pools where nice, employees very cordial, We had a major water problem,our last 3 days where so so We had to flush our toilets with water we got from filling 2 litres water bottles at the pool😡

Iberostar Origin Playa Alameda: Disappointing Accommodations and service

This hotel is definitely not Iberostar quality. From the moment we arrived at the hotel the experience was not what i expected. I would rate this place at 2.5 stars at the very most. My family and i have travelled to Cuba many times prior to Covid and have had awesome vacations but this was the worst experience ever and i wish we had not spent our vacation fund money for this. First time booking with Trip Central and likely the last. ARRIVAL - there was no one there to welcome us to the resort nor was there anyone to help us with our luggage off the bus upon arrival. Should have been my first hint of the disappointing experience. ACCOMMODATIONS: Our rooms were dirty, run down, furniture was old and broken. The rooms were stinky and smelled very musty and moldy. We moved rooms on Day 2 and although the furniture was somewhat better the shower and sink did not drain very well so we had to turn the water on and off during showering. The hotel seemed very tired and run down. FOOD & DRINK: There were definite shortages of alcohol and food. There was only Rum and Beer on the menu which we drink neither. Often the resort would run out of mix. I am shocked since this is an all inclusive. The food was pretty much pork, inedible beef, and one type of fish. There was no variety and again the resort would run out of food on a daily basis. My daughter lived on cheese buns and cucumbers for the entire 10 days. We had to go out for dinner several nights to enjoy a nice meal. The "a la cart" dinners were the same thing as the buffet only presented a little nicer. Again disappointing. STAFS: The front desk staff appeared unhappy and not very friendly. We had to stalk them for bottled water and toilet paper on a daily basis. The other resort staff were ok but again not what i have experienced in the past. This was my daughters first vacation that she has paid for on her own after years of saving. She was very upset and the first half of our 10 day vacation was ruined by the disappointing experience. Definitely not going to this hotel chain in the future.

Playa Cayo Santa Maria: Amazing amazing

A great hotel with all amenities, vey clean rooms, well divided and separated, to have either 2 quiet pools away enough from the main party pool, or a beautiful beach, the choice is yours. Amazingly friendly and competent staff

Valentin El Patriarca Varadero: Friendly staff

We stayed at the upgraded Elegance, which is definitely worthwhile over the basic package. Speaking with other guests, the beds were more comfortable, there was beautiful and artful bed making each day, the rooms are closer to the beach, breakfasts are in a private and small Elegance dining building, private butler to arrange a la carte dinners. A suggestion to the resort, would be to not label their a la carte dining rooms as Italian, Gourmet or Caribbean, for (perhaps) due to food shortag [... read more]es, the menu was the same - pumpkin or chicken soup, rice, chicken and most likely boiled cabbage. Service at these locations was cheerful and quick, but food did not resemble anything that was billed. For valentines, we signed up for a surf and turf meal, that was a pumpkin soup, tasty pork stuffed with walnuts, eggplant ravioli (very tasty, but was simply eggplant with tomato, rice, and a Cuban dessert. This was the best meal of our stay, but not the surf and turf that was advertised. Basic package includes the main buffet, that changed little from day to day. I believe there were some food limitations. Food is simply prepared without spice. Fruit was beautifully cut and presented, Cuban pastries, breads were good, but butter sometimes lacking. Bottled water always provided by servers. Open bars and evening lounge performers at 8 pm. Tipping is appreciated, first US$, then Cdn, and rarely pesos. We did not use pesos during our stay. There were no Covid restrictions at the resort or on the buses, guests did not were masks, but most of the time everyone is outside. We did not sign up for day trips. We did hire a taxi for a tour and trip into Varadero - dinitely recommend travelling this way. We also took the hop on, hop off bus that stops at each resort with Varadero as a destination, we stopped in the plaza Americas, which was expensive shoes, tshirts, expensive cigars. Simply took a taxi back to resort. Rating is based on our upgrade. People in other tiers, were not as comfortable or happy.

Grand Muthu Cayo Guillermo: Amazing resort

2nd time back at this resort..This time my daughter and family came with me.We all had a fantastic time and next yr will make it our 3rd time..pools are so beautiful as ís the amazing ocean .We were in building 4 on the bottom floor as we requested..Seconds from the pool , lobby ,snack bar and buffet..Great entertainment every night and games by the pool daily..Wish I was still there.

Resonance Blu Varadero: Needs Work

The hotel is a bit run down. My safe never worked, had to bang on the door tumblers to come out so I could lock my door. My friends bathroom was full of mild. The food was the same old, same old everyday. The pool and beach was the only saving grace. Only rum and beer at the bars. Some days there was no cream for coffee. Had the same bath towels all week I would not return to this resort. Needs work!

Royalton Cayo Santa Maria: Outstanding from start to finish

Royalton Cayo Santa Maria Absolutely stellar service from start to finish. Our butlers Michel and Omar went out of their way to accommodate our group of seven. Food was great with lots of options. Beachside quesadillas and burgers were a big hit and attendants and servers were abundant with cold drinks and loungers. One of the best beaches in the world, in my opinion. People need to understand that they are in Cuba and not everything we take for granted is available there. I have to give a big shout out to the unbelievably hard working staff from the groundskeepers and maintenance staff to the servers, chefs and bartenders who keep the party going The entertainment was excellent with a variety of extremely talented musicians and performers who delighted everyone in attendance. Excellent resort and I highly recommended it.

Memories Flamenco Beach Resort: Nice beach

The hotel, like most in Cuba, needs an overhaul. The first 4 days we had hot water and flushing toilets. Then the water completely stopped. It returned, but weak and luke warm, toilet didn't flush. The lobby toilets have no locks, rarely toilet paper and stinky. The drinks were horrible, no Pina coladas, one day of mojito, which was undrinkable. Food was pretty good, although some meatballs were raw and chicken from the grill also. Valentine's Day buffet was really special with lobster and shrimp unshelled. No salad dressing, or BBQ sauces. Breakfast omelet cooks are entertaining and competent. The bathrooms have moldy ceilings, tiny ants, the maids do their best. But again no fresh smelling cleansers. Catamaran excursion was so much fun, the crew were awesome and entertaining. I also didn't care for the diamond club treatment. I'm not a fan of a two tier system even though they pay extra for it. I recommended the hotel because of proximity to the airport, beach and food. I would rate this hotel as a 3 star, Cuba standard.

Paradisus Princesa Del Mar: Adults only had a great time

Had a great time. Staff were incredible, entertainment was spectacular! Food was better than the last two times I’ve been. Wish there was more seafood options while dining. There was no vodka which seems strange.

Iberostar Selection Esmeralda: Unsafe & Unsanitary

My husband and I have been to Cuba over 10 times. We love Cuba for the beaches and the people! We decided to take a family vacation with our 1 year old to Iberostar Selection Esmeralda for 7 days. Where to begin….. CHECK IN: We arrived at midnight and got checked in and did not receive any direction of where to go or how to get to our room. We had to ask another traveller who happened to be sitting in the lobby. We were told we couldn’t have the wifi code as the lady at the front desk [... read more] didn’t know how to do it. We said ok, we will come back in the morning (we like to check in with family back home to let them know we made it safely). The next morning we went back to ask for the wifi code and they told us they didn’t have any wifi available. ???? FOOD/DINING: We came with low expectations of food knowing the issues Cubans are currently facing with pandemic recovery and the US trade, on top of that we also know how the food should be since we’ve visited Cuba multiple times previously. However there was always a line up to get into the buffet and a LONG line up to get to the food (if there was any). Lunch starts at 1pm and dinner at 7pm. We had pork and rice for every meal, every day. Sometimes the rice was crunchy or dry as if it were 2+ day old rice. They ran out of bread for two days. Fries, pasta, pizza, condiments or butter were non existent. If you are looking for fruits, they only had papaya 2 of the days in the morning. The plates, cups, utensils in the dining hall were never clean. They were always still greasy or crusty and you could see the smear marks on the plates from how they wiped the previous food off. Coffee stains on coffee cups that were not cleaned prior. The lobby bar had no milk for coffees in the morning and snack bar did not have cups and they frequently ran out of beer and water. 24 hour snack bar only operates a couple hours a day and there is no selection of food. ROOM: The room is spacious and very well laid out however our shower did not drain and water pooled about ankle deep until it flowed outside of the shower (after about a minute and a half), we only had scolding hot water in our shower as well as lots of black mold. We arrived to our room with dirty, stained sheets and 1 blanket for 2 beds. Requested new sheets and we were not able to get them. We tipped our maid with money and gifts every day but it seems like they just do not have enough resources to provide clean sheets and towels. For 7 days we used the same dirty sheets and towels. Our balcony / floor in the room was never wiped down or swept. We did not receive toilet paper for 2 days. Minibar in the room is empty and was not stocked however they do leave 1 bottle of water per day (if you need more you must ask for a refill at the bar which tastes like chlorine). CHECK OUT: We were required to check out by 5:50am and the bus arrived to pick us up at 6:50am which meant that we would not make it for breakfast. The receptionist told us to go to the 24 hour snack bar but it was closed because there was no food available. CONCLUSION: We do not recommend coming to Iberostar Selection Esmeralda as it is simply not safe or sanitary. We understand the situation but it would be best to avoid booking here. They have a lot of work to do to make the guest stay safe.

Grand Memories Varadero: Nice gardens -rundown resort

Grand Memories was probably gorgeous when new -The gardens and palm trees are beautiful , the beach is amazing -white sand and turquoise water - although a fair hike from our room in building 14 . The hotel is very run down ,our room had a horrible moldy smell that we couldn't get rid of - We had one sorta white towel in the room - and never got a clean one for our 10 day stay -the hard bed was made twice - we had to beg to get our 2 blue beach towels -that they charge you for if you don't have [... read more] them when you leave .the sink didn't run well -the toilet ran all the time and you had to open the tank to pull the flush- the shower was nice and hot although the side of the tub was a real climb to get into .the balcony door didn't lock and the front door after the first 7 days wouldn't lock either -open all the time -at least our safe worked -many didn't . The buffet was clean and pretty and the made to order omelet in the morning was great - the other food was very bland -no beef or seafood at all , only pork and chicken in various stewed things - rice beans and mashed potatoes ,there was always olives and fresh watermelon and pineapple ,sliced spam and salami etc. very poor , and even the 3 al-la carte restaurants served just dressed up buffet fare with nice linen LOL The two pools were really nice and the swim up bars were nice - all you could get was rum -no other liquor available The 3 other bars served pina-coladas in the morning till they ran out -then only rum and coke or punch The bathrooms in the common areas -had broken seats, if they had seats at all - all the door locks were missing or broken and they were always out of toilet paper -I brought my own and carried it with me .there was hardly ever soap -no paper towels and no disinfectant anywhere My partner and I both came home with horrible colds - took tests -we are both positive for COVID. The service staff in the restaurant were very nice , the others we encountered -the maids etc.not so much . we went on a couple excursions which were affordable and fun -including a day in Havana with the TROPICANA show - amazing !! this was my 1st trip to Cuba and my partners' 3rd not sure we'll ever go back

Aston Costa Verde Beach Resort: Resort is ok

It was affordable resort for my husband and my 2yr old and I but the hotel was old. And things were not working. The water and electricity turned off a few times and the internet was not good. The food was not good. They had no fruit when we first got there and no fish at all. The restaurants were not any better

Gran Muthu Imperial: Terrible experience

We had no running water for 4 days. No flushing toilets. Then we ran out of bottled water. Definitely not a 5 star experience. Staff were not very friendly overall and seemed to expect tips for everything.

Hotel Rancho Luna: Rancho Luna

Enjoyed my stay at Rancho Luna from Jan 31st to Feb 7th, 2023.. Everything was good, except the Reception Desk and Resort Store needs to accept cash payments (USD, CAD, UK Pound or Euros). Misplaced my backpack upon return from my day trip, and the Reception Lady returned it to me with everything in it. Went to the Guest Relation personnel to track down the honest Reception Lady from the night before to give her some gifts and to show my appreciation for her honesty, but was disappointed t [... read more]hat the Guest Relation Lady was unable to locate her.

Club Amigo Atlantico Guardalavaca: Was ok

Staff, for the most part, were nice. There were a few grumpy ones. They didn't have any vodka, tequila or champagne. At the snack bars, they basically offered pizza (cheese or ham and cheese) on a pita, or ham and cheese sandwiches with fried plantains. The buffet was ok. The exact same thing everyday. When they ran out of butter, they put out mayo. There was no hot tub!!! What kind of resort doesn't have a hot tub?? You get what you pay for I guess. It was pretty cheap. The beach was phenomenal. If you're not too picky about food/drinks, you will do fine at this resort. I will explore other options in the future.

Melia Cayo Coco: Love it!

Awesome place, staff, location! A home away from home. We have been twice and planning on returning again this year. We don’t go for the food, but it wasn’t bad. Beach gorgeous, nice walk along beach to the ruin and bay.
