Iberostar Selection Rose Hall Suites: Amazing Resort

There was absolutely nothing to complain about. The entire staff was friendly, courteous and we were made to feel like family. Excellent food. Probably the best resort food, I have experienced. Looking forward to my next visit.

Bahia Principe Explore Jamaica: Decent but not what expected

The resort was nice but way too big. Took 6 mins to walk just from our room to the snack bar which was on the far western end of the resort. The service was satisfactory but I found some of the waiters/waitresses were expecting a tip no matter what kind of service they gave. I was not too pleased about this as You almost feel Guilty when they do that. I was specifically not impressed with the quality of food in the orchid buffet or other buffets for that matter; the food was 90% of the time cold [... read more] or hard as a rock. I understand the cultural difference but still was not happy with the selection or temperature of the food. The only times my girlfriend and I enjoyed the food, was the three a la cartes that were given to us. I also was not impressed with no beach area. They did have a small stretch but it was very rocky and not was I was hoping for. Our rooms were very nice and the bathroom was quite large which was nice for me and my girlfriend. Overall I liked jamaica but I'm not sure if I would go back to this resort.

JOIA Rose Hall by Iberostar: Grand it is!

We were very impressed with this hotel. Service was outstanding, the food was great (we could have lobster at every restaurant), rooms were clean and had a large balcony, everything was included (even sunscreen!). The beach was ok, the pools looked great but were too cold for my taste. The only really negative thing i have to say is that the wine was really bad.

Riu Ocho Rios: Great vacation disappointed with the Resort.

We were thankful to win the trip to Jamaica. The flight was great, the hotel however has much to improve on. The food was mediocre at best. We had to change our hotel room the first room we were placed in the toilet seat was broken. They were kind enough to switch us to another room but the hotel itself needs an over all. It's not a 4 star anymore. having been to this hotel in the past it has gone down dramatically. Riu should make it part of their standard that if you visit one you should be ab [... read more]le to visit the others on a day pass similar to like what Sandals does. The hotel is big so if you like crowds it is for you. For those who want to relax and have a quiet time find a smaller resort. This one is commercialized and you don't really get the true island feel.

Iberostar Selection Rose Hall Suites: First time in Jamaica....but not the last.

Beautiful hotel with well maintained grounds. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Special mention to Peaches, VIP, Sweetness and Tasha. The food in the buffet restaurant and specialty restaurants was excellent. The rooms were spacious and clean. We stayed on the fourth floor room 3404 which had an execellent view of the pool area and the beach. Our only issue was with the humidity levels in the room. It seemed as though the air conditioning did not do its job as far as eliminating the humidity  [... read more]in the room. That's the only reason we didn't rate this as a five star hotel. The nightly entertainment could be better, but that's to be expected in most Caribbean resorts. All things considered, we had a great vacation and would go back.

Grand Palladium Lady Hamilton: Second time at this resort and it has deteriorated

Beach is not the best, the grounds are well maintained....Lobby Restroom was the cleanest. The others on the resort need to be taken care of more often. Food was OK. Our Suite was great, the separate bedroom/living room was a nice feature. Always had to ask for bottled water.

Bahia Principe Escape Runaway Bay: average

the food was very good,the pools were very nice yet a little scummy on the bottom,the grounds were kept very nice but there was always noise from the construction,the service around the pools and in the resturaunts was terrible.The Bahia could learn something from the Riu properties

Grand Muthu Runaway Bay Club Caribbean: Nice Resort

The resort is nice, the grounds are beautiful. We stayed in a garden hut, it was nice but needs some updating and a clock ,coffee maker and mini fridge would be a major benefit as some huts are further away from bar area. Not always the beautifulest walk in the early morning if you have a hangover. But other then that I was just fine. We travelled as a group of 9 and we all enjoyed are stay. Ages range from 9- 62. There is always loungers available on the beach with was also a bonus , you didn't have to run down first thing in the morning to but your towels out. Also the entertainment was ok. There was a couple really good shows. The entertainment crew work really hard, they try to get everyone to participate but don't bug you. Another bonus. They are doing renovations to the bar area and also setting up wifi throughout the resort. The beach areas are nice bigger then what I expected from reading other reviews. I thought it would be a small resort but it's not really that small. We have been on many vacations and we will decently return to this resort again.

Riu Ocho Rios: Great food fun and times!!!

Great resort, food was wonderful rooms were well beautiful and the staff were second to none! I would recommend this hotel to anyone. We be going to a Riu resort in the future because they really know how to make an enjoyable time!!

Iberostar Waves Rose Hall Beach: We will return!

What a wonderful spot! Yes as previous reviews have mentioned the rooms are not posh. There was rust on the lampshades in our room but that is because of the humidity ...... it is after all a tropical paradise. The bathroom in our room was not fancy but certainly adequate. One must remember not to expect a room like you would find at Azul, Rose Hall Beach is a very affordable location. We were very happy with our room, the view was spectacular. It seemed there were always chairs available on the beach. The beach is delightful. Plenty of shade or sun. I foolishly hurt my knee 18 hours after arrival. I was so so so happy that everything is right at hand. The pool, beach, restaurants, all right there. Food.... AMAZING !!!! Japanese Restaurant should not be missed. I gained 9 pounds, I think that says it all.The entertainment staff really made our visit though, loads of energy around the pool, friendly and fun, dance classes, face painting etc. We thought the evening entertainment was fantastic! A special shout out to EBONY and NIKKI B. We will be back!!!!!! Honestly I read some pretty lousy reviews. Get your head on straight people, appreciate all the beauty and effort and amazing staff.

Riu Palace Tropical Bay: Beautiful Resort

Beautiful resort on seven mile beach. Service and food were exceptional. The bathrooms in the rooms could use an upgrade but everything was clean. Thank you so much to our wonderful servers Winston, Sherean and Powell, to name a few, for making us feel at home and welcome.

Iberostar Selection Rose Hall Suites: Amazing resort!

We travelled to this resort with 2 small children. Everything at the resort was very kid friendly! The food and drinks were amazing, beach was beautiful and the resort was always clean and very well kept! The staff was great and made it very enjoyable to be around! We would definitely go back!

Shaw Park: Great place to chill out

Before going to Shaw Park, my husband and I had always stayed at four or five star mega resorts. Never again. The only regret I have about our week at Shaw Park was that it ended too soon. Having said that, this hotel won't be for everyone. It's definitely showing its age and there are no animators running around trying to keep guests entertained 24-7. Although we were there at the height of the season, it was half full at best, so if you're looking for a non-stop party, go elsewhere. If, like u [... read more]s, however, you want to be right on the beach where you can lie in the sun (or shade), read a good book, eat well and take in some of the local culture, Shaw Park is perfect. The clientele is an interesting mix of locals, Europeans and North Americans, the staff is amazing and the food is fresh and tasty, with a Jamaican flare. Would we go back? Ya mon!

Sandals Dunn's River: Definitely recommend this resort

Everything was great about this resort. Never felt busy, food was excellent and a beautiful property. Property is not super large but that is not a problem for me since everything is quickly accessible. All food especially Moonstone's and the pizza place was super delicious. Even the buffet although not super large had all the right food.

Sandals Caribbean Cay: Great 4 day trip

We were there from Dec 24- 28th. Considering it was over Christmas we found the service very good and the staff friendly and no delays. We stayed in the Sandals Club area, quiet which we liked, more action at the main pool. The beaches are a little small but still nice, food was good. A little close to the airport, which was a bonus for a short trip, no long drive like to some of the other Sandals properties on the island. Overall a nice property, well maintained made a great 4 day trip. I think [... read more] a week of the planes might have been a bit much but they really did not bother us. We knew when we booked at this location we were only a short distance from the airport so planes would come with the territory.

Bahia Principe Explore Jamaica: Amazing resort

Amazing amenities. Clean, beautiful rooms. Grounds were impecable! Wide variety of food at buffets. Loved the theme approach. Excellent à la carte restaurants. Friendly staff who went above and beyond to make our stay as easy, simple and relaxing as possible.

Royalton Negril Resort And Spa: Amazing beach

This was an amazing beach location!! Clothing optional area and beach nice and secluded!!! One of the best c/o beaches anywhere in the Caribbean!! The friendliest staff we have ever seen!! Good food!!

Sandals Ochi Beach Resort: Awesome Experience!

The food was second to none, the staff were so very kind and attended to our every wish! We originally wanted somewhere that we could explore and not be tied to a resort, this place is big and varied enough that it allows for that. The gym, spa and golf were perfect. The beaches are small but the mariner and water sports made up for the lack of beach.

Rooms on the Beach Negril: Quiet and Simple

We stayed at Rooms Negril for 3 days prior to Christmas 2014 and received a fantastic deal considering the time of year (can't complain!!). The room was very simple and all that we needed considering most of our time was spent outdoors however lighting is poor and you have to pay for WiFi. The downside is that breakfast took a long time to be served and there are no instructions of how it works, you have to figure it out for yourself (a sign would be helpful). It's continental style so most of i [... read more]t is bread. There are options to purchase food from a different lunch/dinner menu however we never did. We would go to "Sweet Spot" across the street and order there. The food was delicious and much cheaper than at the resort. We ate there every night ($6 for two of us!!) then bought our beverages and snacks at the store across the street from Sweet Spot (up a bit). The beach was beautiful and the water was clear. Very nice to take a walk, etc. Overall, our stay at the resort was quiet and comfortable. The staff were also nice. We would stay at Rooms again...but in Ocho Rios next time to see that side of the Island.

Bahia Principe Escape Runaway Bay: Overall great value!

Despite a slight inconvenience with the new building being developed adjacent to the Don Pablo Collection (we asked to be moved and were quickly accommodated) the site was beautiful: lots of different places to hang out around a long pool meandering through the grounds. The beach, although not large, was quite pleasant and quiet. Service throughout our stay was very prompt and courteous. The lunches were superb down near the beach - the best jerk chicken ever!
