Ocean Riviera Paradise: Great modern resort!

We went to this resort mid-January and were pleasantly surprised. We travel twice a year and have seen a lot of different sites. This did not disappoint. Staff were always upbeat and pleasant. Most spoke very good english and eager to help. The food, well, if you like good mexican food as opposed to North American tacos and burritos, you are in for a treat at the Margarita restaurant. We went twice. The Steakhouse also was amazing, great steak and tuna steak. The coffee shop had good treats [... read more] all day, and smoothies. The modern decor was a nice change and everything was spotless. Ultra comfortable bed and nice sheets. We did not buy the Privilege club and did not suffer. Good service at the beach. Highly recommending this resort.

Grand Palladium Select White Sand: Great resort!

We stayed at Grand Palladium White Sand Resort for our winter getaway again this year. The food is really high quality and we particularly like the number of restaurants between the three resorts to choose from. Restaurant reservations are not required aside from the Japanese and Seafood restaurants, which is great and allows us to leave the clock behind in true vacation style. We really enjoy the Thai restaurant and visited twice during our ten day stay. The beach area is good although quit [... read more]e rocky in front of the White Sand part of the resort. Mexico is dealing with seaweed issues I guess, and many of the days staff were "bailing up" the seaweed with tractors along the water's edge. I'm not sure why, but this issue seemed to lessen later in our trip and we were easily able to take our long walks on the beach each afternoon. The junior suite is very comfortable and beautiful. We enjoyed the large jetted tub and cozy King bed. Unfortunately, both times at this resort I became sick with "traveler's revenge" so would recommend visiting your doctor for something before you travel.

Grand Sirenis Riviera Maya: Service Questionable

We traveled to this resort during family day vacation and Valentines. For a resort this size I don't feel there is enough staff to accommodate the guests. I found the staff borderline unfriendly except for a few who made up for the rest, and we usually find the Mexican people friendly and witty. The rooms have all been renovated and are very nice but the resort is very stingy with the air conditioning and the rooms were stuffy at night for sleeping. You could not adjust the temperature. The  [... read more]buffet is very repetitive and the a la cartes were alright but not over and above. You must book your a la cartes the very first day you are there or you will miss out on what you are after. You have to book with concierge of your building who at the very least was very abrupt with us since he was trying to upsell and we were not interested and he didn't take kindly to it. The beach as with most beaches in Mexico was not great for swimming but good for snorkeling. We left this resort disappointed, which is a first for us since we have traveled to many resorts and have never encountered this level of service or should I say lack of.

Bahia Principe Explore Tulum: Another beautiful Grand Baha'i resort!

The grand Bahai Tull was great. We were very close to the beach. The beach area at our end of the resort was nice, only two palapa so deep. The swimming is a little precarious as there's a coral reef which the coral washes up from and some large rocks in the shallow areas but if you snorkel then the reef is amazing. Little fish, big fish, sting rays and little sharks!! Bring beach shoes and your floating device and you've got it made. The staff cleaned the beach daily. The best thing was there w [... read more]asn't mobs of people on the beach. It's definitely an area that has so much to do if you like touristy stuff. Food was excellent and the staff was nice.

Sandos Caracol Nature Resort and Water Park: Family fun

We went to a Sandos with our two kids. There is so much to do. We loved all of the animals we got to see (monkeys, cats, coati, petting zoo area). There are so many trails to walk on that are within the mangroves. Snorkeling in the Cenote and Jade river were a highlight. Beach is nice but rocky so water shoes are a must. Our room was nice and overlooked the jade river with a very large balcony. The downsides of the resort for us were the food and smoking areas. The food was very repetitive at th [... read more]e buffets and a la carte. And the kid menu was blah (hotdog hamburgers). The Mexican restaurant was closed which was disappointing. There are designated smoking areas throughout the resort yet people walked around smoking without the rules being enforced. Smoking locations were right beside the pool and game area which was not pleasant with the kids.

Dreams Aventuras Riviera Maya: This is my absolute favourite resort in Mexico

I've been to multiple resorts in Mexico and I like this one the best. It's located in a small gated community that contains private residences and a few other hotels all on the water and marina. Other Amenities in Puerto Aventuras are a Golf course and Multiple Marina locations for fishing and Dolphin swimming. All of which can be accessed by Golf cart or foot. Very safe and very friendly. Beach is nice and water calm and great for kids or Adults alike. It's very clean and the restaurants are all very unique. Now it is my favourite resort to take my kids. Its small and safe, your kids don't need to be kept on a short leash. They can roam around freely and if you have very small children the Explorers club gives mom and time to relax if you like, at no charge. It's full of fun activities for the kids and they enjoyed it when they were younger for sure. If you after a huge resort with a million people it's not for you . But if your after a great time in a smaller but well kept resort this is for you. However the standards are very high and the people are the best. It has an adult side and a family side if you want the best of both worlds. Dreams has a very high standard. I've been here with my kids 8 times and will return again. It's like our home away from home. It's a short ride to Playa del Carmen and a short ride to Tulum. It's right in the middle. It also has Dolphins right at the resort. And Manitess a short distance from the resort. Theres also a really cool Barber shop right around the corner. Highly recommend this resort for all ages. Big night life just a short ride away to Playa aswell.

Iberostar Waves Tucan: Beyond Wonderful

This hotel is outstanding. We found the setting the best of three worlds. The lovely hidden walk through the area we dubbed the rain forest, the lawns and strutting peacocks doing their stuff and the amazingly beautiful, pristine beach. Our room including the bathroom was lovely. Never stayed on the ground floor before and we loved it. All in all a great experience!

Catalonia Royal Tulum: Good Value Destination

Overall this is a very nice resort - typical of what have experienced at Catalonia properties. It is somewhat older but very well maintained. The service personnel are very friendly and accommodating. The food is quite good although we found the Mexican and Asian restaurants to not be to our tastes. The beach is great and the grounds are well maintained. There are two drawbacks to the property: first it is over an hour from the airport and second, it is a long walk from the rooms to the pool/bea [... read more]ch area. We will go back. A fair rating would be 4.5.

El Dorado Seaside Suites: Incredible Resort!

The rooms are fantastic, very big, great views from the upper floors and great water pressure in the shower. The food is amazing, always different options at the buffets, the a la carts have great service and incredible food. There are multiple different pools to swim in and the pool bar was always our favorite. The beach is not the greatest on the Infinity side but they continue to work on making it more accessible. The grounds are very well kept and there are always workers cleaning up and  [... read more]maintaining. The staff at the resort are incredible they are always saying hola and more than willing to accommodate your every need. We have been to this resort twice now and would highly recommend it!

Catalonia Yucatan: Loved this place!!!!

This hotel was fabulous, great staff, clean, and so much to offer :) we love the pool entertainment crew especially Miguel. We especially loved how close the marina was with a lot of dining/drink options, many shops and best of all a free view of the dolphins, manatees and sea lions.

The whole week was terrific because of the quality of the resort! The food was great and the cleanliness of the property was top notch. We enjoyed everything and will be going back for sure. Thank you Haley for suggesting this great vacation spot.

Bahia Principe Explore Tulum: Disappointing

Well the resort is big..thats the only good thing about it..food at buffet is too repetitive..we got the same food all 7 days of stay..no change in menu at all..service was also very poor..the front desk people were not at all welcoming and accommodating..beaches were full of sea weeds..disappointing experience overall..

Bahia Principe Escape Sian Ka'an: Beautiful Resort

The restaurants and food were exceptional! The grounds of the hotel is beautiful, feels like your staying in the rainforest. Good for older couples looking to relax, trolley ride to the beach which is about 10-15 minutes away

Iberostar Waves Paraiso Beach: Fantastic resort

Beautiful rooms great beach great food and shows lovely pool friendly staff very enjoyable stay Amazing gym lots of activities for kids shopping centre all you need for a great vacation Doctor on site very nice carts to take you to wherever you want to go

Dreams Puerto Morelos Resort and Spa: FABULOUS REORT! now we know what the secret is to secrets!

We loved our stay at Silversands resort! this was our first time at a secrets but it definatly will not be our last! we found the staff to be very helpful and easy to communicate with. The pool area was never over crowded and was so clean ! we absolutely loved the no reservations at the restaurants and the food was great..especially the dinner selections....the Italian was by far the best ! room service was great and we loved the cupboards by door to put the dirty dishes in..never had to stumbl [... read more]e over dishes left in hallways! beds were extremly comfortable and the rooms and balconies were huge! we really reconnected as couple and it was really a great vibe at the resort! looking forward to booking another secrets stay in the future ! cheers to our travel agent Sue Snider for recommending the secret !!

Grand Sirenis Riviera Maya: Great stay

We love the pools, coffee bar, gym facilities and food at this resort! Our family of 5 was comfortable in the Junior Suite and it met our needs very well (kids aged 6, 7 and 9). This is our second time visiting the Grabd Sirenis and we intend to come back again in future years.

Dreams Riviera Cancun: excellent resort

the hotel was very beautiful and well kept. the food in the restaurants, including the buffet was top notch. the buffet closed after a couple of days, due to what we heard was a water leaking problem ( don't really know for sure) but the other restaurants picked up the slack very well. drinks were good, rooms and room service were very good. we went on the ' room of the day deal'... which really meant two double beds. they wanted to charge us extra for a king size bed, which was kind of odd [... read more]... so i would confirm- not just request a king size bed if we you go. Like all the resorts on this part of Mexico, they have a seaweed problem, but they seemed to handle cleaning the beach every day well. Other than that the beach was very good, service on the beach was very good and although you needed to get up early to reserve a beach or pool chair, there always seemed to be enough. The French restaurant was by far our favourite- went 3 times. the lobster, scallops and escargot appetizers we amazing, as was their steak. Wine was so-so, but drinkable. The concierge and front desk people were very helpful. We needed some medicine from the local pharmacy and they got if for us right sway. The cleaning and turndown room staff were always on time and did a great job. The one suggestion I would make is that there should be an adults only pool. Otherwise the place is great and we wished we had stayed longer.

Grand Sirenis Mayan Beach: GOOD VACATION

From the airport the resort is far about 45-1hr car ride. The hotel is safe and very clean. Very family oriented, had a kid water park with small and bigger slides. 3 pools. Very large resort, there is a good bit of walking. The people are extremely nice and do things for you without having to ask, they do not wait around for a tip or ask. I have never been to an all inclusive resort that I didn't feel the pressure of tipping, but more than anything, it makes you feel that you want to give. [... read more] very humble, polite and appreciative people. the disco, you have to take a shuttle bus, im mid age, didn't find it too much of a party resort the week I was there but good clean fun. Wyndham Alltra Playa del Carmen: A fabulous property

I will get the one and only "con" out of the way right from the get-go ... The beach is terrible. If you're a beach person, stay away. It's beautiful to look at the water from the beach, but it's not your typical beach. That said, read on.... We went, a group of 16 of us and we were most impressed. The rooms were fantastic! I called in advance to let them know my husband had some mobility issues and they put us in a room on the ground floor which was accessible to all amenities. The foo [... read more]d was so good and never repetitive. There were so many places to eat: the buffet was always fresh with many choices, the a la cartes were scrumptious (Mexican and Italian), the poolside grill had nachos and hot cheese, delicious burgers, hot dogs, shrimp, fresh salads, grilled vegetables and so much more. If you want a late night snack, you can go to Jack24 (self-serve) in the lobby and get some kebobs, sandwiches, sweets, soda pop or a rum & coke. You can get the best coffee at the coffee kiosk and delicious donuts! Ice cream cones too! And lastly, if you're really lazy and want to have an early night or a lazy morning on the patio, just call room service!! The rooms are spacious and spotless. The beds very comfy. And the maid service impeccable. The front desk staff will do all they can to make your trip memorable and try so very hard to please. I give this property a 5* because the pools were so great that I never gave the ocean a second thought! And if all of that isn't enough, you're right in the thick of things in Playa Del Carmen. Right outside the front door there are tons of restaurants, shops, markets, street vendors, etc. It's all so fun!!

Wyndham Alltra Playa del Carmen: Great relaxing time

Great service, nice rooms, pool nice a little deep. The septic smell was awful we had torrential rain for a few days. The beach was washed out filled with seaweed. The drinks were good and the food was great
