Melia Tropical: A beautiful resort
Large resort but fet very comfortable. Beautiful grounds, it is about a 10 minute walk to the beach from the rooms nearest the main buildings, or can take then frequent choo choo train shuttle. Room was very nice, modern, everything was in order, well kept. Food was pretty good. We ate almost always athe buffets at the main building and at beachfront. A la crates are nice, and reservations are not required which is nice. Beach is very nice, lots of space, but it was quite weedy near shore during [... read more]
Tryp Cayo Coco: Old resort
Resort was old and needs renovation work! Service was average, not many activities were available/provided. Food was not the best, not many varieties of food were available. Beach was clean and beautiful, which was probably the best part of the resort!
Melia Las Dunas: Average resort
Never enough towels and Internet was not working food awful my son got married there and his wedding meal was terrible the steak was rubber the soup had no flavour. The only good thing was the cake. -11
Hotel Vigia: Pleasantly Pleased
There was an amazing array of blooming flora all around on my recent stay at this resort, and from the gardeners always attending to some part of the grounds, I was able to learn the name of many unfamiliar plants. The public gathering areas were constantly attended to, being swept and washed, as were the public bathrooms. My room was very near to the ocean and close to the pool and buffet area, with many pathways leading to all areas of the resort. Always had hot water, no electricity outages, [... read more]
Melia Las Dunas: Ok, not great...but ok
Let's say it's just an average at best resort, nothing terrible and nothing great...property is clean with nice gardens and the rooms are decent but there are many things throughout the resort in a state of disrepair...and good luck getting clean towels. I was surprised at the lack of tipping at the restaurants and bars but noticed my service was still ridiculously slow even though I tipped regularly...Yanet at the lobby bar was the only great bartender... Food is typical "eat cautiously" Cuban [... read more]
Melia Cayo Coco: Perfect five day getaway
My daughter and I had a wonderful time at this resort! Very quite and relaxing...just what we were looking for. Perfect beach, windy in the afternoon so went to the next beach......Playa Largo.... ten minute walk .....breathtaking!!! Enjoy!!
Melia Jardines del Rey: Ok resort
The dishes and the cleaning of the table was very discusting, we were told this resort is new but it's not by the look of the showers in the rooms. The food was not very good at all except for the lunch at one restaurant by the pool that had fries and wings thank god for that, we eat a lot of bread because that's all was any good at buffet.
Melia Las Dunas: Melia las dunas cayo Santa Maria
This was my first time to Cuba and can say I can't see me going back!!! Resort was ok very large. Was on ground level and would recommend anyone ever going there to request top floor as bottom is very musty smelling and lots and lots of little ants everywhere in room. Took us 4 days and then a 2 hr wait to get pool towels. We never had hot water once and was lucky if it was warm. Our towels in our room were only changed when I actually handed our dirty ones to the maid and then would get snotty [... read more]
Sol Cayo Coco: Best beach in Cayo Coco
We have been to several hotels in CC (Mojito, Tryp, Playa), and this by far has the best beach. The water is deep enough for swimming and you don't have to wade out forever. The beach is also excellent. For long walks, even in high tide. The grounds are nicely kept, but amazingly, you don't see caretakers/cleaning personnel loitering around. Rooms large and clean, could use some TLC (cracked tiles, all cosmetic). There was fresh green lettuce three times daily and a large variety of fish choic [... read more]
Melia Las Dunas: Very nice resort
The grounds are beautiful and lush. Very clean, pools are awesome and big. Unfortunately the awesome beach is getting smaller, but not much you can do about Mother Nature. All the staff are wonderful and very attentive, ( a smile goes a long way) We always found plenty to eat , lots of veggies, awesome desserts especially ice cream. Food was not bland like I've had before at other Cuban resorts. I would go back again. My main complaint is, the resort is very, very big.
Paradisus Princesa Del Mar: Great Beach
Location to Havana was good , which is our reason for choosing the hotel. We were a little disappointed in the lack of general maintenance to the resort (none of the fountains were operating and the standing water could be a reason for the number of mosquitoes). The food choices were surprisingly good for Cuba. The nightly shows were very entertaining and the best I have seen at any all inclusive. The front desk/reception staff could use better customer service training but all other employees w [... read more]
Melia Las Dunas: beautiful beach
This resort is quite big but beca use it is divided into two sections it doesnt feel huge at all. The rooms are spacious and the open air lobby is very attractive and comfortable. A great meeting place! The resort is well laid out and has a friendly , relaxed feel. It was active without the constant loud thumping music of some other resorts. The down sides were not enough lounge chairs on beach and never a place to sit at the pool due to guests who claimed their spot for the week and were only o [... read more]
Melia Las Dunas: Better than expected resort
Nicely laid out resort, Nice beach, but always the same problem getting a beach chair. The food was tasty but same choices every night. Need theme nights like other countries resorts. The people are pleasant when they find the time to talk to you. Staff seem to go out of their way to ignore you. Hard to get a drink in evenings at main bar, waited 25 minutes to get served. Needless to say place is understaffed. Entertainment was above average to places we have stayed.
Melia Marina Varadero: Great choice
This was our first time to Cuba, as well as our first time to an all iclusive resort. We were lucky to have a one bedroom apartment. It was very quiet and spacious. Although it was not what you could call a Cuban experience, it was very comfortable and a good home base. It was nice to have a small kitchen. Although it had the bare basics in the way of utensils, dishes etc, it didn't look as if it was really used. There was a pot that I used to boil water and It was nice to be able to make a cup [... read more]
Melia Costa Del Sol: Good Location
Location is a plus. Across the street from the sea and right on the main passeo (boardwalk that rums for quite a few kilometers either direction. One must take the steps to get to the main square and it could be strenuous for some, but there is a lift with a nominal fee ( more difficult for those with motion problems, although many rented scooters) Public Transport easy to use and reasonably priced. Many near by sights are easily accessed. Hotel is modern in look and kept very clean. Cleaning st [... read more]
Melia Peninsula Varadero: Great Resort
The resort was a little dated but rooms were functional and clean. The staff were awesome. They made our stay very welcoming. Food was good and not as bland as what we expected. Some of the downfalls, there should be more entertainment throughout the day and washroom closer to the beach. There was lots of things for young children to do. Being able to take a hop on and off bus into Varadero was great for some shopping a the flea markets. The beach in Varedero was amazing.
Melia Cayo Coco: wonderful vacation!
service excellent, rooms clean and smart, beach delightful, staff helpful and caring, food something for everyone, pool area clean and tidy, adults only with no noisy kids entertainment wonderful and YES I will return !
Sol Rio de Luna y Mares: February 19/2016 1 week
rooms need updating also bathrooms are old looking but clean. room had excellent view, beds mattress were excellent, grounds and beach very scenic, long beach with good safe swimming, many steep steps from main pool to ocean could be a concern for some people.lots of act things to due at this resort, excellent entertainment
Melia Caribe Beach Resort: Fabulous!!!!
This was our 2nd time there and it was even better then we remembered from last time! All the staff are amazing. Professional, efficient, courteous and extremely friendly. I noted how well staffed the resort was. Everywhere you went there was staff working quitely away to make sure the grounds and the facilities were imaculate. The entertainers are especially great at keeping all ages engaged. There is something for everyone. The beach was prestine! You always feel safe as even the beach is heav [... read more]
Hotel Camino del Mar: A relaxing vacation
Our stay at the Melia Cayo Guillermo was a relaxing one. Though it was almost full, the spread out design of the resort meant we were not crowded by others. The staff were very friendly and helpful, especially those who worked in the buffet restaurant where we ate most of our meals. We felt like we were part of their families. The food was much better than we expected. There was something for everyone. Most of the food was made in front of you at a grill station. We had only lukewarm water for t [... read more]
