Melia Cayo Coco: We are already planning our next trip back!

Okay, here it goes. I am a very reasonable logical person, so hopefully this review helps someone! First of all this resort is smaller than others, everything is easy to get to with a quick walk! Things to try!! Snorkeling! You can line this up while at the beach. It was a blast, and bring bread in a large water bottle! You’ll see why! They have a dart board and pool tables. The guy who works there will literally train you on kickboxing. As a kickboxer - this made my week and I worked out everyday. TIP HIM! A La carts are always great. Make sure you to each one. Music in the lobby was fantastic! Shows were good! Cappuccino in the lobby is AMAZING. Gym - not so great. Super dated. Okay tennis and walk on the beach for cardio. The sauna works and is great. If you want a crazy party - this is likely not the best resort. Most of the people seem to be quiet! My husband and I are 40yo and 50yo - we are private and do not drink. So we appreciated the quietness of this place. Next door at the Pullman was busy and loud :) Also a great resort! But busier. Get an ocean view!! It’s also worth it. Food was great. This is Cuba and they do their best to accommodate picky foreigners. You will always find something you like. We did very well! Do not tip in Canadian Coins - they have no value there. So if they ask you for bills in exchange. Do it! :) Towel bar closes at 4pm - not my fav idea, but not enough to not like this place. They also lend books at the towel bar. They’re constantly keeping the grounds and painting something. Everyone is friendly and they love Canadians. So I will always be loyal to them! Bring a converter for the outlets if you need to plug in something like a Dyson Airwrap. They won’t fit because one side of the plug is bigger. You will notice that the water in your room is heated by a solar panel on the roof. So let the water run in order for it to get hot, and it won’t be very hot first thing in the morning. Such a smart idea for the resort to have these! There was always a beach chair with a cover. I loved that!! Food selection gets better throughout the week. Go to the market! It’s a 20-25 min walk. They also have bikes and mopeds!! Honestly. We loved it so much here and enjoyed every minute. If you remember where you are and what they CAN offer, you’ll be grateful and enjoy yourself too! They try so hard!! If you can’t live without chocolate, bring some. One more thing…we traveled with a carry on only. So at the Cayo coco airport, we spent $30 and got to the hotel at least an hour before everyone else! It was totally worth it. On the way home we just took the bus. Have fun!!

Memories Flamenco Beach Resort: YW

This was a typical Cuban 4-star....more like a 3-star everywhere else. Accommodation ok, food plentiful but ok in quality, service ok, pool ok. Beach beautiful,weather gorgeous. Grounds very large so that although it was very busy, it wasn’t in general a problem getting beach chairs etc. Staff willing but inefficient. Dining room lacked in things eg only one coffeemaker worked.

Tryp Cayo Coco: Lots of changes

It was nice to see all the new repairs happening at Tryp. The stiff are very excited to see these changes as the resort was starting to look old. All of the sidewalks areas have been replaced with new; new lighting around the resort to accent trees and paths; new food items like great salad selection and bbq items; new eating area between pool and ocean with dancing and food. Aston Costa Verde Beach Resort: Great staff

Hotel was older and in need of updates. Staff was its best asset. They are starting to upgrade parts of resort. Limited variety of foods and drinks but understand how hard it is to get items there. Did the best with what they had. When we had concerns they were addressed in a timely matter which doesn’t happen a lot in the other resorts we have visited. When they advertise that there will be beer in your fridge daily they should follow up on it. I accepted this explanation but then they had a Super Bowl party and had a deep bin full of beer? Over all it was a great experience mainly because of 5he staff.

Gran Muthu Almirante Beach Resort: Amazing resort

New beautiful resort, great food selection,very clean, excellent service. Very nice wide beach but not enough chairs. We been there one week but I would definitely stay there for two weeks. We have admired variety of many bushes palms and other plants. Good location.

Paradisus Princesa Del Mar: 3 star at best

Beautiful beach, lots of sun, inconsistent food and beverage and everyone wants a tip or your shoes or the clothes off your back! No air conditioning in our room and no other room to go to. Room smelt strongly of mold. Trip Central did a great job setting up our vacation and did warn us of the possible lack of services and good food. Paradisus Rio De Oro: Perfect location for romantic getaway

Paradisus Rio de Oro is a fantastic choice for a relaxing couples getaway. Set on a ridge above Esmeralda Beach, the quiet, natural setting, clean and well-maintained facilities and consistently friendly and helpful staff allowed us to disconnect and recharge. On the downside, it's a 60-90 minute drive from the airport depending on traffic. We opted for a Royal Service oceanview unit which is well worth the additional cost - like many similar premium options, it's a resort within the resor [... read more]t with access to private dining, beach and pool facilities in addition to those on the main resort. There's an on-site spa with separate pool and beach which you can use if you take advantage of spa services, and the prices are very affordable. There was a reasonable selection of hot and cold food and beverage options, although the range varied from meal to meal. The Japanese, Mediterranean and Cuban restaurants were better than expected while the main buffet and Continental restaurant were more run of the mill. Shopping options are very limited so be sure to bring toiletries, snacks, accessories, and anything else you think you might need. If you're looking for dancing, socializing, lots of excursion options or shopping, this is probably not the place for you. But if you like beaches and natural settings, appreciate great service, relaxing on the balcony, and you aren't too fussy about what you eat, you should definitely add this place to your list.

Gran Muthu Almirante Beach Resort: Great resort!

Nice and welcome staff! Great healthy food Lots of activities included in the package: sailing, bikes, cayaking, catamaran.. Good entertainment for family Organized and safety vacation Clean pools!

Playa Luxury Cayo Las Brujas: Quiet Relaxation!

Beautiful resort with an amazing staff. This resort was clean, the grounds/shrubs were well manicured and the friendly gardeners always had time to cut you a coconut. Felix was always down at the beach eager to get you a chair as soon as you showed up. Beach was always clean but water was a little cold. Hotel staff was great..from the gm down. It's Cuba so don't expect too much just enjoy!!For the price you can't beat this resort.. Would I go back to this resort....YES.. Great people!! Things are a little rough in Cuba with high inflation and shortages... If you care your can always take a few extra things with you and distribute it. They would really appreciate it.

Club Amigo Atlantico Guardalavaca: Nice Resort

Grounds were well kept. Very clean. Staff were wonderful. On the down side, we never saw a rep from Air Transat for the 2 week we were there. The rep from Sunwing went out of their way to assist us. The food was okay, but was a bit boring. Some things were good ( omelets and some desserts). The pool bartender (Alberto) was great. Unfortunate about supply issues, but we were aware of this when we booked.

Memories Flamenco Beach Resort: It is a nice welcoming resort with great workers

Overall everything was great except for the sceptic issue behind block 8 right by our room. We closed the door and curtains all week to not see or smell. The workers are friendly and the General Manager works hard, very hard. The food was great and we feel for them for not having enough essential items at this time. Thanks for making our trip a good one and and taking care of your lovely resort.

Iberostar Coral Holguin: A very nice resort

The hotel was very good. The service was very good by certain people bartenders (Alexander and Dayana )the fitness instructor (Carlos) the evening butler (Yarandia spelling May not be correct ) The day butler was never around so no service the bartender's at the main outside bar were not very friendly service was ok The maids were great. Sirenis Tropical Varadero: Good resort

Not a huge resort but has various sections to please different tastes. There were two main beach sections one quiet and one with music (Italian ans Cuban) and entertainment sustained by a number of Italians visitors and the agency which send them. There was music (not load), gym on the beach, games. Nice sand, just some brocken shells when entering the water which is shallow for at least 50-100 meters - about 4-5 feet. Night entertainment was quite good, they have excellent dancers and Sunday a [... read more] water ballet show. Main pool was huge and deep on one side (I think more then 7 feet) but not crowded. Also not having decent shade or umbrellas. There is a big bar besides the pool which will also serve some food during the night. A second pool was on the east side of the resort and it appears to be part of a different resort which was united with Sirenis. The pool has a water bar. Not crowded when we were in January 2023. Three restaurants, all closed on Thursday, Italian opened every day, the Mediterranean and Cuban alternatively opened during the week. The reservations were accepted only for one day and could be done starting at 9:30 AM. Should go there earlier to make sure you can get one. The resort has 5 bars, two for beaches (one in the forest lying between the hotel and the beach), two for the swimming pools and one in the atrium. In general the resort is clean and personal friendly. They are happy when you tip them or give them small items but I was served without issues even when I didn't tip. I noticed very few people were tipping at the buffet. We always tip when eating there. Leave an US dollar on the table and also tip the guys preparing the omelette in the morning and the grill (pork and chicken) at lunch and dinner. As recommended by many people is nice to know few words in Spanish. You don't have to be able to keep a conversation but some usual phrases will give you a better service. Food is as usual in Cuba with some exceptions. Grill is good but the fish was missing (we had twice grilled fish in 10 days). Is located far from Varadero and the buses stop running at 6PM.

Club Amigo Atlantico Guardalavaca: Don’t go… should be 1 stat

No refrigerator in rooms unless you want to rent it…. No water in rooms or at store… if you want bottled water you have to buy it with a credit card… same good every night… no diet drinks… there is a beach club near resort but you have to rent the beach chairs…. Will never go there again

Memories Jibacoa: Very enjoyable

Ocean front unit thoroughly enjoyed all facilities. Enjoyed tennis lessons and games and thanks to Alberto the tennis pro. He was a great coach helped with lessons in a very friendly and enjoyable time. Food was good particularly the gourmet meals.

Melia Cayo Coco: Great resort!

This is a great resort! The staff are all amazing and do everything to make your stay great. It is a small resort so its easy to get around and you get to know the staff very well. The food was very good!! Beautiful beach with amazing morning sunrise :) I would definitely return and recommend to anyone looking for the smaller resort type vacation.

Iberostar Origin Laguna Azul: A communist hotel in a communist country

It was a flashback to what was running away from in my youth. Everything is there, but nothing is working as it should. the problems are small, but they are everywhere. The balcony door that doesn't close properly, the tap you have to hold with one hand while opening it with the other; the meet that is not properly cooked, the broken lawn furniture, the god-awful painting (they did not discover yet the miracle of the masking tape and I could go on. Hotel Camino del Mar: Disappointing resort

The website had no mention of over half the resort being under construction as well as amenities advertised are not on location. The 24 hour food bar had no food and the grounds were not kept up. There was a cardboard box outside our room the entire week, as well as cups. Most bathrooms were always out of toilet paper. The two al a cart restaurants were also not what they were advertised as. The excursion we booked was poorly run and disorganized. Very disappointed.

Melia Peninsula Varadero: Great vacation destination

Everything runs pretty smoothly. Friendly staff, at the buffet. Bar staff aren't very quick to serve, so it took patience when waiting. Food is unique, and not what we're used to, but plentiful. Entertainment is different every night. Clean pools, clean rooms. Our toilet leaked but that's the only real problem. Housekeeping made unique displays of our bed blankets daily. Excursions we chose were fantastic. Very knowledgeable tour guides. Miles of clean beach to walk and swim. C [... read more]uba is so safe, we could even take the local bus into Varadero for shopping and walk the streets with no safety concerns. Plenty to see and do. Considering all that is involved for Cuba to provide the necessities that we take for granted, I was pleased with all that was provided for the price.

Muthu Colonial Hotel: Amazing resort
