Bahia Principe Explore Coba: Great Resort

The hotel was very clean the rooms were equally clean.....the property was very well landscaped and maintained ......the staff very friendly.....excellent food and plenty of it.....as far as the Hotel goes Excellent....would go back again. As far as Westjet is concerned NOT Happy......The meet/greet meeting i thought was good and good advice on not being maneuvered, manipulated or listening to speeches for time shares and so forth .....we were told "your time is valuable and you paid a lot o [... read more]f money to be here" also were told by Westjet we get a "FREE" ride into Playa by van if we buy an excursion ....so we did....then we HAD to stop in Playacar for 1 hr. to be harassed by sales people in a Jewelry shop... when we arrived in Playa we were told we only had 2 Hrs. NOT HAPPY WITH WESTJET

Hard Rock Hotel Riviera Maya: Accessible travel review

My wife and I recently return from the Hard Rock in the Riviera Maya. As a paraplegic who relies on a wheelchair for mobility this resort proved to have its challenges. The majority of the restaurants on both sides (Hacienda and Heaven's) had multilevel dinning areas that were not accessible, of the most frustrating one was the Toro steak house. To access the host in order to confirm your reservation and be seated you had to enter the main doors however the only accessible seating area was down  [... read more]below and therefore you needed to back outside down a ramp and enter through another set of doors to gain access to that level. The restaurants that did have ramps were very short and steep. The lobby bar on the Heaven's side was not accessible...2 steps would could have easily been ramped. The accessibly of the gifts shops on both sides were hit and miss, some were and others were not. My biggest peeve was the fact that there were no accessible washrooms pool side. On the Hacienda side I needed to go into the main building which had a maze of 5 ramps to access. On the Heavens side fortunately our room was not too far. On the other hand...the resort was beautiful and impeccably maintained. The staff were very kind, friendly helpful and always looking to assist in any way. Our room was spacious and always cleaned promptly. The food was amazing...the pizza bar became its own daily food group. All in all we managed well and had a great stay. I've been travelling long enough to know that accessibly means different things to different people, especially when travelling abroad and you take what you get and make it work.

Bahia Principe Explore Tulum: Great resort!

Great resort! Clean rooms and common areas. Amazing food, great service, friendly staff. Able to go to other resorts in the Bahia Principe complex for a la carte dinners. Trolleys available to take you to other resorts, or shopping at the Hacienda if you choose not to walk. Beach was a little seaweedy but thats just nature, nothing the resort can to do prevent it! El Dorado Seaside Suites: Unique Place

I would like to start by saying I am a simple man with simple needs...this resort is upscale in food and service to a point of me not being comfortable...very nice but too much for me...the food was like in there advertisement,gourmet...delicious and prepared wonderfully but at times all you might want is some plain old normal everyday food but if you are into all restaurant style meals with 4 and 5 courses served over an hour then this is your place...the bars make wonderful drinks and the bart [... read more]enders work non stop but almost always only 1 bartender at a time working which makes for long waits for a drink at times...the grounds are large but are lovely and well cared for making for nice leisurely walks but there are carts that will drive you if walking is a problem for you...the beach is not the best for any water sports but there is alot of lounges and Bali beds to get in the sun or the shade whichever you want...all the staff are great and will help with everything they can and are always happy to help...this may sound like a bit so great review but it is me just taking a long about way of saying it is a really nice place just a bit too fancy for me.

JOIA Paraiso by Iberostar: Beautiful spot

Just spent a week at the iberostar grand .... the staff were an amazing crew that looked after you like no other ... hotel is beautiful and food was very good .the shows were very good , so much talent , & you could tell the staff was loving every minute of it ...hotel decor was stunning ... I wouldn’t hesitate to return ... it was a great week ....

Blue Bay Grand Esmeralda: Good resort

Staff are excellent and are hard working. Rooms are very clean but outdated. Rooms need updating and shower tub combination is very hard to get in. You literally have to sit and swing your legs into the tub because of the height of the ledge. Food is good and there are many great options to choose from. Steakhouse French Italian and Mexican were excellent. The resort is really spread out so plan on walking a lot or taking the shuttle trains. Bahia Principe Escape Sian Ka'an: Great Resort!

Resort was great. Very clean, great service everywhere, and the most friendly staff. Our Air Canada representative who helped booked excursions was fantastic! Food was good, the restaurant foods were amazing. Beaches were beautiful and every resort was full of fun shows, you were never bored! Weather was fantastic, barely any bugs. All in all, would recommend this resort!!

Bahia Principe Explore Coba: Very beautiful resort.

Resort is surrounded by jungle, therefore there was an abundance of different birds and other wildlife. Beach was good though there is a limited area to swim. That being said there were plenty of fish swimming around. The buildings and grounds are meticulously kept and the staff are very friendly and accommodating. Food was second to none.

Occidental at Xcaret Destination: Beautiful resort

Property was beautiful with a lush jungle setting. Loved the ocean pool, food was great, staff phenomenal. Best part was the wildlife. There were some animals in enclosures but there were wild monkeys, coatis, iguanas, agoutis, deer and so many different birds. Perfect for wildlife lovers!

The Fives Beach Hotel and Residences Playa Del Carmen: Great. Not perfect

Service and food absolutely top notch. Entertainment non existent. Teen club not happening anymore which was a disappointment, as that's one of the main reasons we booked there. Not enough loungers...

Grand Palladium Kantenah: Grand Palladium Kentenah

This a very nice hotel is a quiet place for the number of people is a vacancy we don't feel to much people. I love you keep the naturel surrounding and the small animal and birds have around. the pool is good with the big place and you keep a small place for a quiet I love that The service is very good in a cafeteria the food is varied and delicious The people who work there is very nice and very hard-working. the room is clean every day and the fridge is full all time

Riu Yucatan: 7 glorious days!

The beach and the weather were excellent so our stay was amazing! Food is good, coffee and cocktails top notch, entertainment poor quality except for the nights the tourists are on stage, our suite room was very large with comfortable beds although the linens could be better. Everyone is very friendly except for a very disappointing welcome at the front desk. Everything is well kept and close together so it's easy to get around. Barcelo Maya Grand Resort: Todd & Alanna Visit Maya Beach Resort

Property is very large which is good for walks. Beach area is large and in a bay. Top notch lane swimming and excellent gym area. Ala Carts are good especially the Tokyo one. Service from staff excellent. The transfers to and from airport was very easy. The resort is about an hour drive from airport

Breathless Riviera Cancun: Well laid-out resort

The hotel was very well laid out. We stayed at the exhale and the service was fantastic. The grounds were kept clean and tidy. The food was fantastic and the main buffet was exceptionally good. Housekeeping a mini bar staff kept everything up-to-date everyday. The rooms we're modern up-to-date and spacious. I'd highly recommend this resort. Gary

Occidental at Xcaret Destination: Incredible everything

The resort far surpassed our expectations. The buffets have a very wide variety of foods. The 5 a la Carte restaurants were a nice change from eating at the buffets. The entire resort staff did everything possible to ensure our every need was met, and were very friendly. The resort, pools and grounds were kept very clean.

Breathless Riviera Cancun: Beautiful resort

Rooms and food was excellent! The pools were also wonderful but the beach had a lot of seaweed. The staff was very friendly and courteous. All of the restaurants had a good selection of food and the service was great. Highly recommend the Teppanyaki at the Silks restaurant.

Bahia Principe Explore Tulum: Was OK...

Just a mediocre hotel. Not kept up very well. Moldy pools with garbage and slime floating around. Rooms were ok but again moldy throughout. Food was not too bad but same every day. (was just moved around to look like it's different food options). Beach is not usable due to large rocks and a ton of seaweed... We won't be returning unfortunately.

Ocean Riviera Paradise: Beautiful, huge resort — just a few wrinkles to iron out

First of all, I'd like to thank Debbie Maguire of tripcentral.ca for her assistance coordinating this trip. She was instrumental in helping us narrow down our options and make some smart choices. She was also patient with all our questions, quick to respond whenever we emailed or called, and really insightful about our destination choices. As for our experience at Ocean Riviera Paradise: There is a lot to love about this resort. The pools — and there are many of them — are beautiful. The [... read more] grounds are immaculate. The rooms are stylish and pretty well decked out. The food was generally quite good. There’s a nice mix of quiet little nooks and active party zones scattered across the property. The evening shows were actually quite well done. The beds were comfy, the room service was quick and the staff were all quite friendly. Our nine-year-old was a bit too old for the mini club activities and a bit too young to hang out in the teen club (without us), but plenty of kids seemed to enjoy these spaces and the staff looking after them seemed attentive and fun. The children’s water slide park was another small letdown - the water flow down the slides is so light that only very small children could actually “slide” down them. The very size of the place makes most of those positives possible, but it also means (at least it meant in our experience) that when you encounter a hiccup, it’s easy for your concern to fall through the cracks. For example, it took three days and several phone calls to get the robe and slippers as promised in the room’s amenities. A little thing, sure. But also an easy thing to fix. There was also a big open, empty space on our rooftop deck where the website suggested a sectional lounger should have been (Eden Junior Suite with Rooftop Deck). We could see that our neighbors had one, for what it’s worth. We planned on spending a lot of our time up on that deck, and had chosen the upgrade based on how it looked in the website photos. Despite multiple requests, the furniture never showed up - no one even came to check. The deck also had two lounge chairs - both of which had broken legs. (We’ll never know for sure but we wonder if the furniture situation might have been resolved if we had signed up for a pricey membership in the hotel's parent company — the omnipresent high-pressure sales tactics were off putting.) In the end, furniture isn’t everything, of course. We still had a wonderful vacation and I would happily recommend this resort to anyone, with the caveat that they will need to be prepared to speak up quickly, loudly and persistently if anything is amiss.

Iberostar Waves Paraiso del Mar: Iberostar paraisso Del mar

This resort was exactly what I was looking for . Jorge Garcia gave me lots of good information and we hope to come back again next year ! I was very happy with the gym and golf course . My wife enjoyed the pool as well as the beach . We spent several hours laying in the sun enjoying the property .
