Melia Jardines del Rey: Worst Resort that I have ever been to.

This is Resort is new nice grounds no much greenery. Rooms okay. Too big. Service is horrific. Food preparation unsanitary. No Beach towels for 3 days. Ran out of food. Turning people away from buffet. Had to switch hotel it took me 3/4 days to make the move happen. Will be looking for compensation from Trip Central for the 4 days that I lost from my two weeks vacation. Would not recommend this resort to anyone. Totally horrible vacation.

Hotel Camino del Mar: Just ok!

My boyfriend has been to this resort many times and always loved it. Unfortunately the resort is showing its age, the beach was once beautiful but was not kept up while we were there. It is under new management and most of the old staff has moved on. The service has gone down hill. Two couples who travelled with us were without hot water or air conditioning all week. Even after moving rooms.

Hotel Playa Coco: Un Bijou

Amazing beach, food variety exceeded our expectations. Great value for the money. We will definitely go back to this resort. It perfectly corresponds to our needs. The rooms were a bit outdated but clean.

Iberostar Origin Daiquiri: Great time!

We really liked the size of the resort. The gardeners do an amazing job on the grounds. The lobby is very open so when there is a breeze (especially at night) it can get quite cool. We stayed in the superior room which had been renovated but the bed was the worst we have ever had.

Sol Cayo Coco: Amazing beach

The Sol has a quiet beach out of the wind in a sheltered cove as well as the main one in front of the resort. We had an ocean view room and it was lovely. Food was good, loved the pizza. Will definitely be back.

Memories Caribe Beach Resort: Old and lots of bugs

Place needs to be renovated.Buildings dirty water stained on the outside.Old beds a bedding .No hot water at the best of times.Lots of sand fleas on the beach at times and in the lobby area.Guest lobby washrooms are behond dirty with no paper towels.Food was mediocre.Would I return or recommend this hotel? No , pros nice beach and friendly staff.

Hotel Vigia: Amazing beach

Needs renovations. Good if you get a low price. Beach is amazing clear water very shallow. Food was ok lots of selections. Service was excellent all the staff outstanding. Room is outdated but everything worked fine.

Iberostar Origin Daiquiri: Nice, small resort.

This resort was nice and easy to get around. Hard to get clean beach towels if you didn't get there early. Make sure you get a renovated room, if not, the room is horrific! Buffet is good but repetitive!

Hotel Vigia: Great resort for Cuba on a budget!

They rate this resort as a 3.5 star and it is all that and more! We went to Veradero last year to a 3.5 star (Punterena Celeta) and that one should have been condemned. We thought we would give Cuba another try and we are happy we did! Although this is an older resort that needs some attention, the staff is excellent to see to your needs and correct any problems. The beach is as good as Bavaro beach in Punta Cana, although it is quite windy. There is a tide there, so you can walk a long ways out [... read more] before you get past your knees. The piers along the beach are an interesting hangout with lots of beautiful fish beneath it. There is no longer a pier in front of this resort but Sol Melia next door has one and its a short walk. Playa Pillar is a close bus ride away(7km) and a beautiful picture perfect beach! The food at this resort is more than satisfactory (given that is IS Cuba afterall). Lots of variety and the line ups are not too bad. The A La Carte dining is great too. The quality of the drinks depends on which bar you go and which bar tender you get. Try them all! The nightly entertainment is ok but repeats every 10 days.There is riffle shooting every day, tennis courts, ping pong tables and use of kayaks, paddle boats and snorkel/fin sets all at no charge. There is also a playground/nursery for the kids and lots of pool side activities for them. The nicest thing we found about this resort was the low noise level. There is a disco but it is built away from the rooms. We were in room 211 and couldn't hear any noise at all. It was a bit of a long walk to get to the pool/buffet area but the added exercise didn't hurt us! And NO elevators to fight with!!! A few Cons of this hotel would be: The pool is not very deep anywhere. The internet connect is not great (at least for me) We had to ask every day to get that free bottle of water for the room. The grounds are not cleaned of fallen branches often enough The hot tub was not working. Very low water pressure for room shower...almost a trickle My bed frame was broken on arrival(but was replaced) We had no remote for a/c but told to use breaker switch for on/off Remote for tv did not work and reception was terrible. But overall we feel this is a great place to spent a few weeks in Cuba! (Just as a side note: I did leave my sunglasses and a sweater in the dining area and there were never seen again. So don't leave things unattended. We opted not to use their room safe and just locked our suitcases. And everything was fine there)

Hotel Vigia: Very Dissapointed :o(

My husband and I stayed at Sol Cayo Guillermo March 3-10...the resort needs a MAJOR upgrade!! Room was good for Cuba but our toilet didnt flush and the sheets were stained. Line-ups to the buffet was horrible! 1/2 hour or more wait...supper was the worst as it only started at 7pm. Chairs at the pool and beach were next to impossible to get if you didnt "claim" them at 6am! Best part of the resort but it was very windy. The staff is friendly and always smiling even when people complained. I've been to Varadero, Cayo Santa Maria, Holguin and Cayo Largo and I have to be honnest and say that it was the worst resort :o( I hate writing bad reviews cause the people of Cuba are the best but this resort just isnt worth the money.

Muthu Colonial Hotel: Great Resort

I'll start with the bad first: The food wasn't great. Apparently that's just Cuba though. I was always able to find something worth eating, but it was hit and miss. Some of the activities like the boats and archery at 11:00 weren't open though, which was disappointing. If those things are important to you it might be better to go a little later in the year than I did as it looked like they were in the process of setting that stuff up. Now the good: The style: I loved the old colonial style. Everything had a very open air feel to it, all the buildings were little 2-3 storey affairs. Very interesting feel to the place. The rooms themselves were spacious and well maintained for the most part. There were some imperfections here and there, but were well cleaned and looked after. There were plenty of great pools. The spread out nature of the hotel lends well to this as well as making it seem less busy than it was. I could walk out my door and go to that pool, or go to the salt water one near the center, or all the way to the other side of the resort and see that pool. All with their own nearby bars and snack huts. The beach was awesome. Big beautiful stretch of beach along the whole north side of the hotel. I was always able to find a chair and a spot, even with half the beach bars not open it was always easy to get a drink. Weather was great while I was there too so that helped a lot. This hotel seems to be actively improving itself. The whole time I was there workers were building, or repairing, or refurbishing things. I saw them building stage platforms for pool side performances, there was a closed boat dock beside my building they were working on, painting and repairing buildings, grounds keepers everywhere, even saw them bringing new mattresses into buildings. The work was never disruptive or in the way of my resort experience either. All in all a good resort. It calls itself a 4 star and I would agree.

Hotel Playa Paraiso: Awesome Vacation at a Great Resort!

Beautiful resort, housekeeping were wonderful - kept things clean, grounds people were very nice, Good Food (liked you good choose fresh meat/food to grill), beach was small but good, was our first all inclusive - would absolutely go back!

Hotel Camino del Mar: Melia Cayo Guillermo Feb 27 to March 5 2016

First trip to Cuba and didn`t know what to expect. It is a bit of a drive to the resort and the resort caters to the elderly and families. Staff were wonderful, therooms were clean and bug free, and there was plenty of food. The dessert bar was amazing with lots of variety! Depending on the time of day and clouds, the water was a different colour every time you looked at it! Lots of beach chairs and easy to find a free one. Hotel Playa Paraiso: great excursion trips

As a mature woman travelling alone, I had a very enjoyable time at this hotel and several enjoyable bus excursions and a great catamaran snorkelling trip. My only criticism is that I wish the restaurant staff would be better trained to deal with single female diners and not whisk away other place settings as soon as they find out you are alone, this made me very uncomfortable. The staff was very friendly, food was very good and the room was great

Hotel Camino del Mar: Great Resort

Great resort very clean and everyone very friendly. Food was pretty good. The only thing was most days when everyone went for a shower at the same time there would be no hot water. Surprisingly never got bitten by mosquitoes.

Hotel Playa Paraiso: worst service ever

I have been to cuba several times. This was absolutely the worst experience. There was not enough staff on duty and you had to stand in line everywhere. My boyfriend got food poisoning and I asked for an extra bottle of water and I was told only one bottle of water per room per day. I voiced my concerns to the General manager but he obviously didn't care. He wouldn't even sit down to listen to what I had to say when I asked him to. We waited 28 min at an alacart restaurant for someone to offer us water. Never will I go back to Cuba.

Hotel Playa Paraiso: Friendly staff, beautiful resort, amazing vacation

My friend and I were looking to have a get away from school for a week and this was an amazing resort to do just that. The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful from the moment we arrived to the moment we left. The resort had a perfect balance of quiet and fun. Hotel Playa Paraiso: excellent and beautiful well kept resort!

Beautiful well kept and beautiful grounds. Amazing pool and swim up pool bar. The food was plentiful and for Cuba really amazing! The rooms were clean and I found the staff very friendly! The ocean truly amazing. Miss it already!

Hotel Playa Paraiso: crowded beach and cold food

The food at the ale carts was bad, at the Portuguese restaurant I ordered pork with baked potatoes, I received three small pieces of pork on a handful of fries and ice cold vegetables. Most items at the buffet are the same cold, they bring the food out from the kitchen and place them on the warming trays hoping this will warm the food. We never had a stomach issue but cold food always. Beach was small and both pool area and beach very crowded.

Hotel Playa Paraiso: Perfect Holiday at Pestana Cayo Coco

I very recently returned with a party of 4 from Pestana Cayo Coco for a week long holiday I booked through tripcentral. My only knowledge prior to the trip were reviews I had read online. I am an active person who likes long walks on beaches(15 or more kms daily), swimming, snorkeling, beach yoga and pristine nature. I was more than impressed on all counts. They stretch for kms in both directions, one can wade along in knee to waist deep water obser [... read more]ving various fish, crabs and conch, starfish and spiny urchins while coming upon low tide sandbars full of feeding birds from plovers to pelicans. All this without meeting another person. The snorkeling via Hobie to the outer reef is spectacular. The reef is very healthy and diverse. I have been to some acclaimed snorkeling locations but this was by far the best. Some people complained about the narrow beach and rocks. I do recommend bringing water shoes, more to protect against urchins, crabs and rays than from rocks etc. And yes, the beach is narrow in places. I would sum up by saying if your intent is to walk to the nearest lounge chair close to the bar, then it is indeed narrow and crowded, as there are many like minded vacationers , but if you don't go for that scenario and like to explore and get away from the crowds, then it is perfect. The resort itself is less than 20 minutes from the airport. It is quite new and clean. The rooms were very fresh and beds super comfortable. Maid service was excellent and A/C was powerful with no musty smell. It is not a large complex so everything is relatively close by. The buffet was varied and food was excellent, bearing in mind this is Cuba. Chicken dishes were always excellent, carved turkey was the best I've ever tasted. House wines were from Spain and also very good. Staff in the dining area were superb. The bar stocked many premium brands and the beer on tap was Crystal, a Cuban beer that is perfect for a hot day at the pool or beach. Entertainment was top notch, very good music and dancing, unlike some cheesy shows at other resorts I've been to, and so this was unexpected. It is family friendly with an excellent pool setup for toddlers and many young families were there. All in all I was very impressed with this resort and with tripcentral who provided excellent service and helped make this a flawless week in paradise.
