Paradisus Princesa Del Mar: Great Resort!

The resort and all facilities included were incredible. Beautiful pools and beautiful beaches. Many of the staff were very friendly as well. Buffet food not great, but the a la carte food was amazing.

Iberostar Selection Varadero: Great fun

We both enjoyed the hotel! There were lots of activities to keep my 13 year old busy. The beach was stunning and the food quite good, especially the 6-course tasting menu! The staff were extremely helpful and accommodating, especially since my son has food allergies. Everything was SEAMLESS!

Playa Vista Azul: Great resort

One of my favorite resorts in Cuba. Beautiful beach, infinity pool and location of resort. (loved the cliffs) The food in the buffet was great, I was surprised because Cuba is not known for great food at resorts. The staff were friendly, helpful and very entertaining. Our room didn't have a great view but we weren't in it that often to care. The shower was leaky (floors were so wet) and the water temperature was either too hot or too cold. The conditioner in our room was not working wel [... read more]l, after the 3rd day it didn't cool to the preferred temperature and was 26 and even 28 degrees in the room at times. We asked to fix it and they did, but the problem started again after a day and we gave up. The drinks at the bars were decent but sometimes the drinks were not sweet enough or too strong or too weak, it was always different. But overall, we had a great time and would come back to this resort again and maybe get the better view room.

Melia Varadero: Good resort

Overall our experience was great, no issues at all. The food was average and service was good. But we had an amazing time. The country is beautiful, the beach although it has a lot of rocks on the main side was gorgeous.

Barcelo Solymar: An okay resort

Stayed at barcelo from June 8-15 2018 with 1 friend. I stayed at this resort previously in 2012 and it has gone a bit downhill since. The good: rooms are clean, staff is amazing and super friendly, beach is beautiful as Varadero beaches are and always super clean with no weeds, proximity to the town is unbeatable. Great nightlife within a 5-10 min walk or 10 min cab ride. Booked a room with 2 beds but were given a single king bed which was fine for us in the end but a little annoying nonetheless. Food is bad to the say the least other than breakfast which had good omelettes and bread selection. The arenas blancas buffet was slightly better than barcelo however neither was great. No 24 hour liquor service, only beer is available after 11:30 pm which is annoying since all inclusive should mean 24 hours. However that did mean that the lobby was fairly empty and quiet at night which is nicer for people looking for a quiet evening. Overall I would probably stay again as I'm not too picky with food and enjoyed the beach and nightlife available and staff is great.

Sanctuary at Grand Memories Varadero: Amazing resort!!

Everything was even better than expected!! Amazing grounds, beach, pools, restaurants, entertainment, and service was fantastic! I would definitely recommend this hotel for an excellent vacation!! Gracias Sanctuary Grand Memories!:)

Barcelo Solymar: Great Overall!

The ocean view was amazing, bungalows are awesome, the buffet was awful...food was plain, tasteless, and no variety at all...but if you want to be right in the centre of social life and party...Barcelo Solymar is the place to be! Daily trips to Havana and Cayo Blanco were fantastic!

Melia Las Antillas: Not bad but staff makes it fun

Rooms weren’t bad...food wasn’t the best but the beach is beautiful! All the staff work so hard and really make the experience! Book a la carte reservations...much better than buffet. This resort is more for couples and older people, while we went on a girls trip we found ourselves relaxing more than part Omg. The beach is never crowded and there’s always a chair!

Valentin El Patriarca Varadero: Hygiene problem

The absolute worst experience . The place is a dump. Food awful, service awful , hygiene of entire resort everything from dirty pool to rooms to well everything. Everyone got sick and total waste of money. Don't believe any positive reviews .

Roc Barlovento: Fabulous vacation

We had a wonderful stay at ROC Barlovento. The entire resort is clean and well maintained, the staff are extremely kind and hard working, the beach is gorgeous. The location is great, walking distance to markets and short taxi ride to downtown clubs. The food is decent, standard for Cuba, but the bbq was extremely good. A small and quiet resort with mostly older guests. Not really suitable for party people, but perfect for a relaxing vacation.

Valentin El Patriarca Varadero: Meh...

The hotel was, well, "meh". Grounds were nice. Food was what you would expect in Cuba. Tons of mosquito's, for which they did not spray (and should have). Roaches in rooms. Some staff were nice, most were completely indifferent to your staying there. Overall, a very bland place. Cuba has also changed. The scam which they call the CUC, a non existent currency intended to gauge tourists, is, believe it or not, valued even higher than the USD. lol. Soooooo, you're getting $.70 on the CDN dollar [... read more]!!! HA. A cab ride from Varadero to Havana was $160CUC!. Cuba has become just as, if not more expensive, than many other South destination. Coupled with rude, indifferent people, constantly trying to hammer out every dollar you have, I will never return. Starfish Varadero: Fun Vacation Overall!

My boyfriend and I spent a week at this resort and had a good time overall! Room: Our room was newly renovated and was cleaned daily (we had a great housekeeper who brought us several souvenirs). The air conditioning worked but was not strong enough (granted, we knew it was bound to be hot in June). The power was out one night so there was no water. Other than that we had strong, hot water. The sand was beautiful, and there are lots of huts with loungers along the shoreline. You can walk out quite far and still touch the sand. There is a beach bar close by as well, where you could get drinks and hot dogs. Pools: The pools were also very nice, big and clean (for the most part). We had no problems getting loungers in the shade. My only complaint about the pools was that they closed at 6pm even though it was still broad daylight and 40 degrees, which was really too bad! Food: The food was okay, the beach and pool bars had the best options. The buffet was nerve-racking as everything was just left to sit in the blazing heat for hours without any sort of ice underneath (including all meat and cheese). There are also birds and flies on everything. We ate the Milan's a la carte, which was nice. We had to make a reservation two days in advance to get in. Staff: You can see that the housekeeping and kitchen staff work very hard! The front of house staff were not helpful with questions, and didn't seem to know anything about how airport transfers work (a bit surprising considering there are several a week). Pros: - Beautiful beach and pools - Staff is very friendly for the most part - Great price for an all-inclusive Cons: - Food hygiene was not good - Pools closed at 6pm - Facility could use some maitenance Overall we had a good time!

Melia Las Antillas: Not for honeymooners!

Grounds: The resort looks like a typical Cuban resort. The pools are clean but doesn't have a pool bar. There's also 4 bed type things alongside the pool area to lay and relax in addition to pool chairs. There's a lot of water related activities in the beach and pool so there's tons to do. The gardens are well kept as well but the best part of the resort is the beach. The water is clean and clear. The water isn't too deep so you can swim around and be safe. Public Areas: Not at all impressed [... read more] by the lobby or the internal public areas. There's black mold, lots of roof leaks during the rain. The elevators are out of order. There's no AC as they keep windows and doors open. Room: Standard. We got the honeymoon package so we were excepting something beautiful but it was like every room in the resort except a king bed and a side window (it was the room in the end) giving an ocean view (from a very far distance). The bathtub had black stains that won't come out. The water pressure (understandably) was very low. Dining: Worst food I ever had but I am told you don't go to Cuba for the food. Even the la carte restaurants had blah food. The meat is not real meat. There's bugs in the food or the dishes. The food is not labeled for the buffet so you actually have no idea what you are eating. The bars water down the drinks, was honestly drunk maybe twice and only because the VIP lounge let us make our own drinks. And to any green tea addicts - there green tea was peppermint tea. Overall, zero romantic vibes!

Playa Vista Azul: Good Hotel

This was a good hotel with plenty of positives Was upgraded to an ocean view ( just amazing ) food was good not the best ive had for Cuba but always found something to eat.Drinks were hit or miss ....service was good also with very little exemptions .....grounds were really well kept ..ocean was good beach was ok on the long beach but very small on the other side like 8 pallapas only..Front desk needs to smile a bit more but was effective with service.

Starfish Jibacoa: Hidden gem

This resort is a hidden gem nestled in this little mountain side town called Santa Cruz. I went there with my daughter june 4-11. We had amazing views of the ocean with a white sand beach. We went there with no expectations or knowledge of Cuba and was greeting with a friendly smile by all of the locals. We felt very safe during our stay and had no troubles leaving the resort. The resort offered a wide variety of water sports and paddle boats. I highly recommend this resort for a cheap getaway but not in the high end side of that is what you are looking for.

Melia Marina Varadero: Bad Resort

I sick now...the food is very bad..The same food every day...Hotel need clean up..rooms very bad....I travel before Mexico and Dominica Republic ..this is real vacation...I afraid when lunch time...Cuba for me done!Melia Marina Varadero if trip central give me 7 days free this hotel I say noooooooooooooo!

Playa Vista Azul: Won't return

there is a very small rocky beach with not enough shades. Rooms are OK.Food is just average and some staff not very nice. I WILL NOT RETURN .They not clean beach .empty cups and cigarettes buts everywere on the beach

Iberostar Origin Playa Alameda: Terrible resort (iberostar daiquiri not playa alameda***)

Had a bad stay. Only one bar open after 6, plates were dirty at the buffet, beach was mostly seaweed, no toilet paper at the lobby washroom, and the whole resort ran out of water twice therefore couldn’t even shower or wash hands....

Palma Real: Fun,fun and more fun!!!!!

This was my very first all inclusive stay. My expectations were low as I had read many bad reviews about the palma real. I was blown away by just about everything. The people real made it for me loved all the staff and other visitors from far and wide. Everyone seemed to be there for the same reason to have a good time and we did!!!!!!!! Thanks for the memorable vacation until next time.

Playa Vista Azul: Beautiful Resort

Recently spent a week at the rather newer resort. It is a very beautiful resort with an incredible infinity pool overlooking the ocean. The staff for the most part are awesome! Roberto at the beach bar, Yuneil at the infinity pool & the Sweetest egg girl ever... Never spent time at the pool so can not comment, but every time we walked by everyone seemed to be having a great time. Room keys were a big issue, first few days no problem, from then on it was ever other day our key cards stooped working. Very frustrating & annoying. Our last night the card died, up we go for new cards, walk back & still didn’t work. Took a good hour & then some all around to get in our room. Food: I have traveled to different area’s in Cuba for over 20 years & I have never had such disappointing food. There was an employee vacationing at this resort from a resort that I have vacationed at 3 times. I asked his opinion on the food & he agreed it was not good.
