Grand Sirenis Tropical Suites: Great Resort!

This is the perfect family resort. Rooms are bright, big and clean. Lots of restaraunt choices and great food even in the Buffet. Lots of kids events and the pools are perfect for young ones or enjoy the beach. Staff were friendly. The kids club provided daily entertainment if you wanted to partake. Well done!

Riu Bambu: Very nice resort

I would give this resort a 5 star food was great we gain 5 pounds, ground well kept lot's of place to sit in the sun or shade to have a drink and our room very clean staff amazing if we needed anything there was no problem for them to accommodate. We travel alot and this resort was great 2 thumbs up

Sensatori Resort Punta Cana: Great family resort

This resort is great for families with young kids. I booked a stay with Sensatori, but upon arrival I learned that I had been upgraded to the Nickelodeon side (most likely because of my kids). The room I booked was comparable to what I was offered on the Nick side, but included with my new room was free access to the Nick water park. The Sensatori resort is attached to/part of the Nickelodeon resort which is jam packed with kids activities and family attractions. There are adult only sections an [... read more]d adult only restaurants on the Sensatori side if you are travelling without kids, but the grounds and most restaurants are shared between both sides. The grounds are well kept and the rooms are clean. It's a fairly new resort so amenities are still very new and in very good shape. The restaurants offer good alternatives to eating at the buffet. I found the buffet to have OK food, nothing special. If travelling with kids, the buffet has limited kid friendly food. My kids ate pasta most of the time. The restaurants have kid menus, but not much options my kids were interested in. My only complaint is the food selection for the buffet and the restaurants kid menus could be better.

Sunscape Coco Punta Cana: Not the vacation I imagined :(

After 9 hours of travelling, almost another 2 hours was spent checking in. Un-Professional staff did not provide the correct VIP bracelet or instructions to the VIP check in (which we paid for). Was scammed into paying $400 USD for a spa they advised was part of our room(s) package (checked and confirmed three times before we attended on three different days and occasions), only to find out that it was not true and that we had to pay for (Thanks Jose for not even listening) Room Keys were consta [... read more]ntly being deactivated resulting in us walking from one end of the resort to the other end. Other than then that, our Air Canada reps where able to listen to our complaints but nothing was ever done, Thank you Eliso and William at least for trying. Overall setup of the room was nice and our cleaning lady made sure it was cleaned daily (Thank you), however from when we arrived on Wednesday and informed front desk that our telephone (inside the room) was not working (for emergency reasons, still not working after we left as no one fixed/replaced the phone) and the room was infested with mosquitoes (I had to buy product to spray the room after no one came after the third day). Also we paid for the deluxe swim up (adults only) room, however due to "changes" (that we were not notified about) on the hotel grounds - the adult only section was moved and completed on the other side of the resort, but we were stuck with the old deluxe swim up that included partying until 5:00 in the morning, followed by your choice of: intoxicated guest yelling and slamming of doors or truck horns at 6:00 - 6:30 am. Goodbye rest and relaxation! Food and Beverage selection was fair, the Mexican restaurant was our family favorite! Also enjoyed the VIP bar (the one we paid for) after we "found it" on the third day into our vacation, by ourselves I felt that this "vacation" was a big money grab and a scam. I understand that some of the services provided are a means of income for some individuals, but my family and I would have been more receptive if the truth was provided to us instead of a means to just take our money. (we spent over $500 USD in tips and gifts) and would have happily spent more if there was no hiding agenda to get money from us by any means possible! Also the timeshare reps, 1 or 2 days of asking is appropriate. After the 5th day, just let me enjoy my vacation please, I already said no the first 4 days, day 5-7 will also be a no! Please notify your customers of any changes to the hotel that may have happened prior to purchasing their vacation. Also please train your front desk/ reception etiquette's in customer service please? Finally, please do not scam your guest into services that they are unaware of, it leaves a bad impression and image for your company.

Vista Sol Punta Cana: Amazing Resort!!!

We really enjoyed this resort. Nice and compact!! Everything was a short walk away...2 minutes tops. Food was good, there was lots of variety. The spaghetti at lunch and supper was amazing. We went to 4 of the 5 a la carte's and would recommend them. Asian, Mexican, Gourmet and Italian. We heard not great things about the American BBQ so we avoided it. The staff were polite and helpful. Bathrooms need a bit of an upgrade but they still worked. We would go here again!!

Excellence Punta Cana: Pure heaven

Everything about this place is amazing from food, accommodations, staff, drinks , service, entertainment, beach, pools and activities. This was our second trip here and it was better than last year. We’ve been to the two other Excellence resorts in Mexico several times but we like the layout , beach and pools much better here. There’s always a daybed or lounge chair available at pool or beach. If you want quiet relaxation with top notch staff and service you won’t be disappointed.

Majestic Colonial Punta Cana Beach Resort: Beautiful Resort

This is the nicest resort we've ever stayed in. The grounds were beautiful, the pools were clean and well maintained and our room was very large with two balconies. We had upgraded to the Colonial Club, the adults only section. We had access to a butler if we needed help with anything. He made a point of checking in with us each day. Our bar fridge was restocked every day. There was a light buffet in the Colonial Club's lounge with sandwiches, snacks and wine, along with various liquors. Breakfast buffets were quite good with lots on offer. Evening meals, the meat was often tough and sometimes over/under done. We've learned not to expect gourmet food at even the best resorts. We've been on a couple of open water cruises and their food far exceeds anything from the land resorts. We avoided the adults only pools for the most part because of the noisy swimup bars. In spite of our minor concerns, this is a resort we can highly recommend.

Excellence Punta Cana: Fantastic resort

Fantastic place, great food, service and beautifully kept resort. Very friendly staff. Rooms were very nice and plenty of choses for food. The beaches were very clean and well kept. Best place to stay for sure

Melia Caribe Beach Resort: Great Resort

I loved most of everything about this resort...Except...The main complaint by a lot of guests was the alcohool...We all agreed that it was either watered down or way below par...When we asked for name brand alcohool we were told we had to settle for the cheap brands...Just horrible...

Ocean El Faro: Ocean El Faro

Although they are still building and not fully functioning we really had a great time. We loved Carlos and Sandy as our bartenders for the week! They made it so much fun! We also loved Lidia who was our hostess most of the time!! The only complaint I have is that the H10 people, the spa people and the excursion people were bugging us way too much. This was very annoying for us all. All and all we had a fantastic time!!

Catalonia Bavaro Resort: Disappointed

We had so many issues. After posting a FB public comment out of frustration because we got no where with resort. They then called and said they would fix said issues. Sadly that was short lived. Seemed the only thing that did get fixed was hot water. That said it went to extreme hot. lol still was better then freezing cold. Food, shows and service with the privilege package more like a 3star. Anyone flashing a 5 gets premium service even over those that paid the upgrade. Riu Republica: Great Resort

This resort is beautiful, the beach is beautiful and can walk along it for a long time. It is very big, several bars, pools and restaurants. The food is amazing but there was only 1 small store to shop, which was a little odd because it is so large. They labelled the pools which I thought was a great idea so you could choose your pool atmosphere. Rooms were nice, however, only restocked the bar and coffee stuff every 2 days. Dreams Royal Beach Punta Cana: Terrible Room Location

We have been to Punta Cana many times and stayed at many different hotels and I would have to say I would not recommend this place (Now Larimar) for seniors. We were approximately the length of 5 football fields outside the lobby, then at least another 3 or 4 football fields from the lobby to the beach. It is a lot of walking for anyone with sore knees or hips that a lot of us have ( the over 60 crowd). I ended up with large blisters walking to the beach. The rooms were very small compared to other rooms. We were definitely in the 2nd class section though we paid the usual price. They did say we could upgrade to the "Preferred Club" for $60.00 USD a night!!! The preferred club is what the hotel is all about. They had 2 pool, private reception rooms, upgrades amenities and what I thought was not very nice, a big restaurant by the beach for them only. Everyone else had to go up to the main buffet for lunch or eat at a small out door snack bar. The hotel itself has a lot going for it, very clean, good food, a lot of a la cartes, prompt service , etc. If we hadn't been stuck in no mans land , it would be pretty good. In the future you might tell the over 60 crowd they should probably go to a different hotel where you might walk a good distance but not miles.

Bahia Principe Escape Ambar: Great Holiday resport

We had great experience at the Ambar with beautiful ground and a clean and orderly beach. The swim up bar is in the sun most of the day and the food and libations were excellent. The staff are helpful and very pleasant. We will definitely return.

Dreams Onyx Resort and Spa: Luxurious resort

Now Onyx This is an absolutely beautiful resort. Upon arrival you are handed a cold cloth to refresh your face. The check in process went flawlessly. The personnel is always upbeat and friendly. The rooms and grounds are upkept meticulously. The food is 5 star. I would recommend this resort for both family and couples.

Majestic Colonial Punta Cana Beach Resort: Very nice resort with excellent customer service

We enjoyed our stay in Majestic Colonial Punta Cana. We found the food to be excellent and generally all the activities. There was only one thing that I would say was not the best and that is the beach party with small kids. they seem to have these once or twice a week and when they do it, they close the main buffet, and force everyone to eat at the beach, while this is nice for almost everone, if you have small kids it is really a nounce. Hint, if you have small children, book for that night one of the restaurtants.

Bahia Principe Explore Punta Cana: Terrible!!!

1) dated. Phone issues, very noisy, called in for more towels, toilet paper, blanket, never came, never responded. 2) they didnt know I spoke Spanish, staff talked really bad about everyone, racist remarks, peoples' weight, sexual remarks to very young girls, I understood everything, and not happy with their disgusting remarks about their bodies and what they would do to them!. 3)not sanitary, very dirty. They have this system where the lights turn off in the washroom so annoying.. We got sick [... read more] (colds) never have before.. they need to lysol everything as I found many kids, staff and adults all coughing everywhere they did nothing to keep door handles, chairs clean...found many plates and cups dirty, pay attention dont let them serve u in their cups before checking. Found lipstick on more than 1 cup in the morning... They swepped while we ate DISGUSTING! We asked them to stop but didnt listen 4)constant harrassment om the beach to do excurtions NON-STOP. 5)entertainment, non of them sing.. only good thing is the dancers, they prepared. 6) no bottle water to take with u, served on cups only. 7)no towels by 1pm so get your towels early! 8)they voiced how dissatisfied they were for not getting more than a dollar tip! I saw them make customer uncofortable because they didnt like their tip amount! That is a horrible way to behave considering the fact that we spend thousands of dollars to come and stay at the resort. 9)Front desk training is TERRIBLE, they moved us closer to our friends room, made us check out and kept us without a room for a day. Ruined our day because they kept telling us to come back. Just horrible!! I dont recommend this place. BAHIA PRINCIPE PUNTA CANA! My business is sales and customer service and the owners of this resort need to train their staff better We have gone 6 times to DR but never had this type of treatment. I dont advise you to go here. They don't even deserve 1 STAR!

Excellence Punta Cana: Awesome resort and people

The #1 resort that we have been to for quisine and service. The most remarkable food. Jensen, our server in Chez Isabelle restaurant was the best server ever. So funny and so efficient. Anna who serves during the entertainment, very attentive. Really nice. Very clean and well maintained resort. They pay attention to everyone. Room service, walking the resort, to dining they make you feel so comfortable. Great people, awesome holiday. My wife and I went to the spa twice, unbelievable. W [... read more]e never had deep tissue massages like that before. Even in Canada. The beach is so wonderful, close to the pool, never had to worry about saving loungers. Primium liquor, Excellence Punta Cana is top notch for sure. The entertainment is very good. We will be back

Dreams Onyx Resort and Spa: So beautiful!

Hotel was extremely clean. Nice sized rooms. Walk in shower, jacuzzi on every balcony. Light up mirrors. Pools just outside your sliding door. Hotel staff were excellent. Food and brinks were amazing. Lots of umbrellas on the beach. Sand was soft. Love having the freedom of going to the breathless and dreams resorts. No wristbands required. Just a really beautiful place!

Riu Republica: Mixed Feelings

The good: the place was relatively new, well maintained and clean. The rooms are good sized with a nice walk-in shower. Our bed was a king and comfortable. Room service was good. It helps to leave a daily tip. The food at the buffet was varied, lots to choose from, well prepared and tasty. There were several cooking stations -pasta meat fish etc. We enjoyed the buffets. The beach is one of the best at Punta Cana. Many others have eroded beach fronts that have narrowed due to storms. On  [... read more]the whole the staff were excellent. Many of the resorts have staff who have little or no command of the English language. Although there was a bit of hand waving and gesturing on our part we never ran into a complete barrier. Knowing a few words in Spanish always helps. There was no sewage smell like some resorts dependent on wind direction. The evening entertainment varied. Some good - some very amateurish. The mini cirque de soleil was enjoyable. They had a talented band as well The hucksters did not make a pest of themselves like some resorts. There was no night set aside where the sellers set up stalls and stop the passerby trying to sell you some baubles. Once you get your bearings you can easily find your way around . see below re size. The pools were plentiful, clean and large and not busy. However, the pools attached to the swim-up bars were jammed with partying and drinking folks all day long. Not everyone bothered with the bathroom. you get the idea At the same time there is no difficulty getting a drink. The bars are well staffed with good service in spite of the crowds. The bad: The place is huge. You have to find your own way to your room and at night that can be tricky. The attached picture does not do the place justice as to its actual size. Somebody said there were 1375 rooms. It is really noisy with only the beach area free from the PA system playing loud music, the entertainment staff shouting all day long and the party goers trying to yell above the din. Impossible to find a quiet spot to sit and talk save for one evenings only bar that was reasonably quiet. Keep in mind this is an adults-only resort. The specialty restaurants were a disaster. Here's what we experienced at several of them. The appetizers arrived after the entre and only because we asked. The bread never arrived. The pasta was raw. We had to ask for water at one place. At another we asked twice for wine. You couldn't hear yourself think due to the noise and acoustics. Only the sushi was edible at the Asian restaurant. The pasta at the Italian was simply wasn't. The place caters to the twenties age group who tend to get loaded every day. If that is your idea of a good time, you'll make lot's of friends. The liquor and wine were big disappointments. Tried the white and red wines. They were simply bad. We finally found the rose passable. the liquor gave me heartburn. Premium liquors are not available even at a cost. If you are looking at a price point, there are the above mentioned trade offs. If some of the listed negatives don't bother you, then by all means go. Although there were some major disappointments,we're not a bunch of fusspots and made the best of it. Being in the sun and surf with a bit of laissez faire made it all worthwhile. On the other hand if some of the negatives really concern you, then look elsewhere. Please don't base your decision to go on the star ratings below due to the many pluses and negatives.
