Hedonism II: Great place if you have a very open mind
We were at Hedonism for a week in December 2014. It was in a quieter week which worked for us... no lineups for the bar and easy to get a place at the beach or pòol. The food was ok, but not amazing. The resort is well cared for and is having ongoing renovations. The entertainment in the main dining room was pretty amateur, but the piano bar was really good. If you are not comfortable with nudity and swingers, then don't go there, but otherwise it's a nice spot. We paid extra for a ocean view r[... read more]oom... not worth it. There was no walkout to the beach or porch/patio if you want to sit outside your own room... unless you upgrade even more to a jacuzzi suite. The beach and pools were great and the staff were always pleasant and helpful.
This was one of the nicer hotels I am stayed at. Our room was much better than others. I liked the resorts lay out, made it easy to get around and everything was in walking distance. The variety and quality of food was really the only downside. Our last two days there was a major improvement in seafood which my boyfriend loved. The two a la carts we attended we awful, the buffet was offering better food and the fact that you couldn't reserve all at once was ridiculous. Making me stand in a line [... read more]for 30 min plus just to book one for two days in advance was not a pleasant experience. Other than that Jamaica was beautiful. We went on the rocks cafe snorkeling tour offered by the resort and it was so fun. I have never had such a great excursion. We got pick up and dropped off on our beach, staff were funny and friendly, snorkeling was beautiful, free alcohol lots of knowledge about local places along the way, a dance party. Honestly we couldn't have asked for a better day. Overall we had a really great time. We probably will not stay at a riu again unless the price is right. Also entertainment did a great job.

Couples Tower Isle: Everything They Promised
This resort had the best food we have ever had at an all inclusive, in fact, the food was better then a lot of restaurants in our area, which we always thought were the best. The resort is small, but cozy, and is located in a fairly isolated area. Take advantage of all the free activities which are offered, for most often they are extra at other resorts. The no tipping policy is amazing(tip was included in our overall price), and staff are very attentive even though they know that usually there w[... read more]ill be

Beachcomber Club: Personalized Service
Because of the size of the resort, you get to know all the staff and guests, which is really nice. Staff, including the owner, are very personable and cater to individual requests, making you feel right at home. And the location is perfect - in the middle of 7 miles of soft, white sand with clear turquoise waters.

Royalton Negril Resort And Spa: Great resort - But obviously aging
Overall a great resort. Hospitality was great, all the employees were nice and friendly. Well maintained and clean. Food was great, did not need to book reservations for any of the al la carte restaurants and were always accessible. Definitely a couple oriented hotel, the entertainment was consistent with that vibe. Great spot if you are looking for a low-key spot with your special one. Beach was very clean.
Only complaint I would have, is while the rooms are very clean and the property well ma[... read more]intained, the rooms look like they have not been updated in sometime.
Overall great experience, but would give them a 3.5 to 4/5 because of lack of updates to the rooms.

Royalton Negril Resort And Spa: The staff are the strongest asset of this resort
My husband and I selected this resort because of a 'resort credit' they were offering, this turned out to be false advertisement. Sunwing refused to take responsibility eventhough they endorsed this promotion on their website. The sunwing rep on site was never at her post and was not very helpful.
The manager at the resort was very personable and the staff were fantastic, friendly, happy and engaged.
Beach: 3/4 - lots of chairs but in poor condition, loved the floaters that were available to add[... read more] a little cushioning to the hard plastic and to float in the ocean.
Resort overall - in need of a refresh, old chairs, furniture and decor - time for a facelift, loved that it was for adults only. The pool is small and there was no pool bar or beach bar. The resort should also consider a beach snack bar that offers patties, burgers and the like.
Food - 3/4 - loved the insomnia cafe, great coffees including specialty coffee, place was opened 24 hours and the staff were awesome
Entertainment - 3/4 - loved the live music, better than cheezy entertainment typically offered at all inclusive resorts
Best bartender - Keron Buchanan (polite, professional and very good at his job!)
We enjoyed our vacation because of our positive interaction with the staff. The resort has potential but seriously needs updating.
May return if the price is right.....

Couples Tower Isle: Incredible Stay
We travelled in early December. The weather was not the greatest, but we'll forgo the tan for an amazing experience, which is what Couples Tower Isle provided. All staff members at CTI, from check-in to check-out, were incredible - reception, guest services, events, water sports, bar staff, room service, dining room, Verandah, Bayside, the fancy restaurant. I was in awe by the attention that the staff provided all resort guests - it was simply above and beyond all other experiences, with the exc[... read more]eption of our stay at Couples Negril, which was probably on par. The answer to any request you may have is "Ya Mon!" The food was incredible - I had to have gained 10 pounds over the course of the week. Every dining option is good. The jerk chicken at the snack bar was unreal - I probably had 12 portions in a week. Friday is lobster night so do not miss out - we had lobster at bayside and the portions were HUGE! The chef also came by the table to discuss the lobster options, which was a nice little touch. It was some of the best lobster I've ever had. The grounds are well maintained, the pools are clean, and you look around and people are just having a good time. They have countless activities to keep you occupied, including free excursions. Whether you want to relax, party, or get out and be active, CTI has enough options to ensure every guest leaves satisfied.
CTI was an incredible resort and the question not will we be back, but rather, when will we be back. Thank you CTI for an absolutely majestic week in paradise!

Bahia Principe Explore Jamaica: Bahia Principe Runaway Bay
The grounds were beautiful and very well kept. The pools were amazing but our favourite was the beach...we spent each day there swimming and lounging in the shade. The jerk chicken was fabulous at the beach grill. Excellent service in all bars and restaurants. Really liked the huge deck area/bar on the front of the lobby but we would have liked to have more music for dancing there. The evening entertainment at the town square stage was good but the sound system could have been better. We really [... read more]liked the steel band!

Jewel Runaway Bay Resort: Resort trip with pluses and minuses
RE: BOOKING NUMBER – 72995783
Regarding my recent trip to Jewel Runaway Bay Resort, I have the following comments, which are complaints as well as suggestions, but generally resulted in a disappointing trip.
The Elite service on the way out was satisfactory, as was the flight until the food service where I took one item and my son the other. Both proved to be awful, making me wish I had just got a cold sandwich at the Toronto airport. Watching a movie on that small screen 3 rows back was hopel[... read more]ess. We were advise we would arrive ½ hour early, great until we were ferried to the buses for transport to the resort where there seemed to be a lot of confusion as the 7 of us waited for some action. We were boarded onto a large bus where we sat breathing diesel for over 1 ½ hours. A transfer to the hotel literally took 3 hours arriving at the front desk at 4:45pm. The front desk personnel definitely lacked any friendliness, and we all had to stand around front desk trying to get service. However, the next day while in the front desk area, arrivals were seated in comfortable chairs, given hot towels and front desk personnel came to them. Two parties were overheard requesting upgrades, and both were granted without question, which makes me wonder what was wrong with us.
We arrived at our room passing many great looking rooms, the classification PREMIER was definitely misused. Things only got worse when opening the patio door we were overlooking a construction site, about which we had received no notice or indication this was going on. A number of us went back to the front desk to seek alternative accommodation before unpacking but were told nothing was available, period. This seemed totally contradictory to the number of guests (few, definitely not full) we saw later that evening and next morning throughout the hotel. The resort grounds, pools, beaches, lobby, and eating areas were all well maintained and the staff including the cleaning lady, restaurant staff, grounds keepers, and entertainment staff were all fantastic and were the main attribute of this resort that stands out in my mind. Unfortunately, other issues of infestation of mosquitoes, flies, ants and wasps throughout the stay were absolutely annoying to the extent of wearing long pants at night. I had over 20 bites on one leg in two days and had to avoid wasps as my son is allegoric to their bites. One of our group had indicated that prior to an ownership change in the last 2 years, the resort used to fog daily but not now. Considering the concern over mosquitoes in the Caribbean, you would think more action would be taken.
My overall opinion of the food was very poor, not what I had expected, with all meals other than breakfast being a challenge to enjoy something. Even the hamburger outlet proved to be a grease burger with little flavour. The friendly lady at the pizza outlet proved to be a godsend for some eatable enjoyment and her friendliness, always jovial. Even the sandwich on the golf course proved to be better than the hotel.
Back to the room which was small compared to other locations where I have flown with Sunwing including Cuba. The washroom felt like you were sitting/squashed in an airline washroom. It took forever to get hot water in the basin, and I had to call maintenance as shower was always cold, to find out the taps were mislabelled and presto hot water eventually came. We could not leave clothes on patio due to construction dust and even sitting out there to play cards and have a drink proved impossible. I called about the air conditioning, which was set at 20 degrees, but it was certainly not that level in the room, which the maintenance chap agreed, when I called for im arriving with a screwdriver and after ½ hour could do nothing to help besides saying to leave it and see if it gets better.
The return transfer to airport was much speedier than the arrival. The plane was an older model with narrower seats even with ELITE service, providing little comfort. No champagne service on return, no big deal. Noone had said keep earphones for the return flight so I had left them on the plane on arrival, so I was out of luck, but then you show an animated movie “How To Train Your Dragonâ€, are you kidding this is 99% adult flight. Again good news, we were arriving 20 minutes early. The confusion on trying to find the carousel with our bags, while not Sunwings’ fault was confusing with two separate arrivals from Montego Bay. ELITE service did not seem to work on return the best way. Three out our 7 golf bags did not turn up. After close to an hour we were filling paperwork in at the Sunwing lost baggage desk, with a number of young ladies providing hopeless service in doing that job versus answering the telephone when we were all upset. Paperwork complete the others were on there way out when we got advised, three bags had been found. Fortunately, we were able to catch our out of town friends in time. Again while not necessarily Sunwing’s fault, it is strange all oversized baggage went on together yet 3 get lost, but your lost baggage staff in my opinion could certainly do with some customer service training considering the stress one is under losing luggage.
My bottom line is thank god for the servers, who were taken care of well with the service and enjoyment they provided in a rather negative vacation trip. I would return there but only with some changes particularly in the culinary area, regardless of being in and trying Jamaican, we still like some home style grub now and again. Kudos to my large lady friend at pizza bar who should be put to the front desk as a greeter that one would never forget.

Grand Pineapple Beach: Great resort!!
Excellent staff, clean rooms and lovely beach!! The security keeps an eye out on everyone. You are free to stroll the beach and mingle with locals. We meet many very friendly locals who escorted us during walks. The food was pretty good and there are also many places around the resort where you can buy food. We met a lot of great people from all over the world who have been to this resort numerous times and who keep going back. A stroll down the beach proves that this hotel takes great care of t[... read more]heir property compared to other resorts along the beach. There are lots of beach chairs so you don't have to worry about claiming a chair at 7 am in the morning. There is also a pool which is not used very much but it is clean and a nice place to gather in the evening. The hot tub was great! Nice and hot! The bartenders and servers were all great people who went out of there way to make sure you had all that you need.
If you walk down Norman Manley Boulevard there are many little stores and restaurants that you can visit and there is also a mall close by. The location is great and you are not locked on a resort with no escape for seven days! This area is safe and you can see many tourists walking up and down the streets at all hours of the night. The night life is also good. There are parties to be found every night if one wanted too. This is place that you must visit and we will definitely be returning as soon as possible!!

Iberostar Waves Rose Hall Beach: Amazing Resort
This resort was absolutely fabulous. The beach was beautiful, the rooms were clean, the food was great, and the staff were wonderful! The friendliest, kindest people we have ever met at an All Inclusive. There was always lots of things to do if you wanted to participate in any activities. Or just sit back and watch the daily entertainment. The entertainment crew and waitresses, Angel, Apple, Danika, Diandra, Smiley and Dwight (to name a few) went out of their way every day to make our stay a mem[... read more]orable one. And that they did. The evening shows were very enjoyable and well done. The jerk chicken at the beach barbecue was unbelievable. I can't believe that people post negative reviews about this resort. Riu Palace Tropical Bay: Great vacation, strongest asset is the staff
Transportation with Sunwing - forget about paying extra for Elite plus status, all you get is the option to board the plane first and a separate desk to check-in and a little more leg room and baggage allowance. Unlike other airlines, you do not get special drinks or meals.
Check-in at the hotel: 5/5 - courteous staff, quick, efficient and very helpful. The staff at the main desk were always available to assist
Restaurants: 3/5 - you could only chose two sittings 6:30 and 9:00, the first is too [... read more]early and the last sitting is way too late. The food was excellent in the specialty restaurants, the service was a little slow but well done, the decor in the restaurant was appealing and the staff were very professional. The buffet had ample choices (something for everyone) and the staff were positive and very attentive to their customers' needs.
Bars: Great choices, Tangueray gin, baileys, champagne, excellent martinis and a variety of tropical drinks - the staff were very professional and appreciative of any tip they received
Beach: no palapas so need to set-up by trees to get some shade, no need to rush in the morning to reserve chairs as there were plenty for everyone. Loved that the aquasize was offered in the am in the ocean but the session was way too long (one hour). Great beach to walk, take time to visit the vendors between the two Riu hotels, they have competitive prices and cool offerings!
Pool: no quiet pool, the only pool available was a pool with a swim up bar. Best to use the pool in the morning before it gets cloudy!! Guests settle at the bar in the water and don't move for hours - you figure it out :)
Beach vendors and entertainers - love them, they are respectful and never pushy
Animation Team - young flamboyant and energetic team, they add a lot to the vacation experience
Lobby bar (24 hour) - was closed for renos for most of our stay but by far the best drinks
Grounds - well maintained
Towel Service - very efficient and pleasant attendants
Size and location of hotel - perfect, don't like big resorts and this one was perfect
Rooms - very nice, fridge stocked daily, cleaning staff outstanding and decent deck
Gym - equipment in good working order, open 24/7
