Hotel Villa Cuba: Ok

Staff was super friendly food was bad but rooms were clean entertainment was not very good the pool was cleaned beach was nice had good coffee pretty close to town so that was nice had elevators but were spotty at best not at all a good place for people with handicapped as there were tons of stairs wherever you went you had to climb stairs not a lot of food choices breads were the best on the menu front desk not friendly at all unles you spoke Spanish always had peso on hand I’m use to better  [... read more]resorts but for a mother daughter cheap vacation it was ok if you go without expectations it will be fine also bring food with you three out of five of us got bad bellies

Melia Marina Varadero: Beautiful location and resort

Buffet is great for the morning. Evening buffet offers usually the same food however, the hotel has very nice restaurants, gorgeous location and beach. Service is excellent as they aim to please. Great entertainment every night.

Starfish Varadero: Nice resort

We loved it.Reception was nice and the staff was helpful.We got room,which we didn't like .The wiew was horrible,just some building .So we got back to front desk and they gave us different much nicer room with beautiful garden wiew and even glimpse of ocean :)Room was clean and we got cleaning service every day ,plus bottle of water every day.Food was ok in buffet, especially the grilled fish and meats.The bar in second floor had very nice staff,which made for us very great tasting burgers an [... read more]d breakfast pancakes,which my boys enjoyed very much and want to eat them every day! Kids pool was great also :)Beach was breathtaking :)Absolutaly amazing.But they should clean more often the cigarette butts,which were in the send. The only problem we had was the young guests from Canada across us and above us ,which made so much noise until morning hours for like three days straight ,we reported it and security did nothing .. Otherwise we enjoyed very much our stay at Starfish Varadero and we had realy great family time :)

Starfish Varadero: Best resort in town!

We didn’t even want to go home. That’s how good this hotel is. The experience, the staff, the view and everything else is amazing. Met a lot of awesome people from different parts of the world. Food is better than any other hotels. A lot of open spaces so make sure to bring or buy an insect repellent. Definitely recommend it to everyone. Definitely going back when we travel again to Cuba

Starfish Varadero: Amazing Improvement

Much better than before. I travelled on May 21st to June 4th I have been in this hotel many times and was surprised to find how much everything was improved. The food was good and variety of it could satisfy everyone. Garden and beach were clean and perfect. Chairs on beach and near the pool were new and plenty. I would like to thank all staff for doing excellent job in this hotel and especially management – I had a perfect vacation and I already planned to return on June 11

Melia Las Antillas: Not so great second time around!

This is our second time at this resort. We arrived in the rain and it had been raining for a few days. The lobby had buckets and towels sopping up the water coming in the ceilings and windows. The ceilings were black with mold. The dining room also had buckets and molding ceilings. Our room was dry though. The grounds of the resort were well manicured and neat. Three of the four of our group came home with digestive issues. One even got the Ducoral vaccine and still had stomach problems. Barcelo Solymar: Resort

We didn't had good experience at the resort. So much to improve. Was an issue with my room. No food for us when we arrived The room was dirty They need to improve customer service Check out is a 12 pm but my flight was 11 pm we were waiting so long to back home.

Starfish Varadero: Average Resort

The resort was dated, my toilet was broken and had to be fixed. The bathroom was very rusted compared to the other rooms in the hotel. As for the food, it was the same in the buffet day to day. The pool (not the main pool) was NOT cleaned during my stay, the water was below the filters and was not cleaned in the mornings so there were a lot of bugs. The staff was fun and tried to make our stay as comfortable as possible.

Memories Jibacoa: Nice resort

Our room was very nice. The grounds are kept up. The restaurants were OK. The best food was definitely at the international restaurant. The Diamond club breakfast area was nice & quiet with a wonderful server. Snorkelers loved this beach but for walking or swimming its not so good.

Sanctuary at Grand Memories Varadero: Dissapointed

Musty rooms empty pool and jacuzzi. Riped off by wifi card salesperson.. Barely any entertainment on rainy days. Filthy smelly blankets, bed spreads and pillows. Dusty surfaces. Spilled food and broken dishes left on steps and hallways for over 24 hrs.i do not recommend this hotel.

Grand Memories Varadero: Good resort!

Hotel lobby was very nice, rooms were clean and maid service was great! However it did smell alittle moldly. Food was okay, nothing special... been to Cuba before and have had better quality. Only one pool open due too damage...Nightly entertainment was enjoyable! We closed down the disco a few nights, meet some great people! Beach was breathtaking!!! Staff were all very friendly and welcoming!!

Playa Caleta: Not what it used to be!

My family has been to this resort five times prior to our last trip! We stayed in the Punterna part of the hotel and LOVED it! On our recent trip, we stayed in Playa Caleta...and unfortunately our stay was not anywhere as enjoyable! The swim up pool bar was not open...EVER! The pool on the Punterna side was closed the majority of our one week stay! They no longer had a beach bar and grill which was just as disappointing! Be Live Turquesa: Average at best

In the tradition and the love 💕 of Cuba the people there are always respectful helpful and courteous however the exterior facilities themselves were not cared for from the cobble stone like interlocking stone walkways making rolling a travel bag a wagon ride The food in the common area was average at best but redeemed itself with the Italian restaurant by appointment only served great dishes . The bars ran out of mojetos by 3pm and most vodkas and wines were out short time later WTF C [... read more]uba with no Mojitos man The rooms were good and kept clean But if the ocean and beach is your reason for the destination OH Man is it worth the sober ness and sh....y food the beach and clear water made it all worth it in the end just next time going to the hotel next door 🚪 sorry

Grand Memories Varadero: Great Resort All Around!

This was my first all inclusive vacation as well as my first trip to Cuba and Grand Memories made a lasting impression! The resort is not new but I still found everything to be well kept across the resort. My room was clean and everything was in good working conditon. No bugs of any kind seen through my 7 day stay in my room. It was well cleaned daily and the maid was very nice. The resort is quite large with 2 massive pools both equipped with swim up bars. One thing many people did warn me about before visiting Cuba was the food but I found the food at Grand Memories to be excellent and the buffet was so large it was easy to find something new to try everyday. Lastly, if your a solo traveller like I was Grand Memories didn't charge a supplementary fee for single person booking like many other resorts would have which made it ideal for someone with a budget! Overall I made alot of friends and really enjoyed my stay. Highly recommend! Cheers

Sanctuary at Grand Memories Varadero: Sun, Beach, Food, Drinks & Amazing Staff & Resort

This was our 6th visit to the Grand Memories Sanctuary adults only resort, Varadero Cuba....When we think our experience at the hotel can’t get better it does..... We can't say enough about this resort, the staff are amazing along with the Director Luz Hernández and Gustavo Dominguez. From the time we arrived we are greeted by our fav shuttle drivers Hanoy and Tony....big smiles. Hanoy was always there asking if we need anything.... The Sancutary restaurant staff with Manager Gustav [... read more]o, hostess Yurilays, servers Yessica and Natali you received warm greetings and outstanding service every morning for breakfast. We ordered poached eggs and omelette with double order of bacon every morning and chose smaller items from the vast arrangement of cheese,, fruits, cold cuts and sweets while waiting for our eggs. As soon as we walked in, they had our cappuccinos with Baileys and mimosas waiting for us....nice touch they knew what we enjoyed for breakfast - hey it’s 5:00 pm somewhere right! Their new Chef Vincenzo from Italy has amazing meals prepared at dinner time...Chef Vincenzo has made a difference in the quality of the meals and taste....he is an asset to the Sancutary restuarant staff! We are beach people so it was enjoyable to have Alex on the beach serving your favourite drinks and Cervaza ... Beach has clean, white sand and easy to walk into the ocean....very short walk from our room to the beach... Hoping the new beach bar is open now and is closer to washrooms .... After the beach we sornt an hour at the pool and had fried calamari or fries or hamburgers....all are great but the service is slower so just sit back and enjoy the pool and they will bring your order to you....the staff at the pool snack bar are a happy bunch. Our room was so clean thanks to our maid Jenny, she is a gem. Always smiling with big hugs. We ask for Jenny on all our trips. There has been no issues with our room, it is spotless ... Only suggestion would be to bring your own facecloths which are not always provided. The bathtub takes forever to fill so would avoid and use ithe shower. Our fav restuarant on the Grand Memories side is the Gourmet and true to its name. I would suggest the tender steak, it was mouthwatering... The Asian restaurant is another place that has good food. As others have mentioned in their reviews, we would have to agree, avoid the Italian restuarant on the Grand Memories side. We gave this restuarant three tries on our various visits to the resort and it never was a good food experience. I’m so sorry to say the food is terrible. We would like to acknowledge the outstanding service we received from the Sancutary staff:- Jenny /maid, Hanoy butler/shuttle cart, Tony/shuttle cart, Yurilays/hostess at Sancutary restuarant, Yessica & Natali waitress, Militza/reception. Special shout out to our fav Sanctuary bartenders Yuneil, Jesus, Alex, Amaury & Leo and staff at the pool snack bar... They make us feel like family, especially our favs Jenny, Hanoy, bartenders Yuniel, Jesus & Alex... We look forward to seeing everyone very soon June 2018.....

Sanctuary at Grand Memories Varadero: Decent resort

Sadly, The Dining was mediocre , we had huge problems with room service also, it was either really bad, the wrong order, or not delivered at all. Having said that the grounds were decent , the beach was amazing, the water was so clear.

Memories Jibacoa: Fabulous resort!

The hotel grounds were beautifully maintained. The rooms were older but definitely clean. Overall I would recommend this resort if your looking to get away somewhere quiet and remote . And the staff was helpful and incredibly friendly

Playa Vista Azul: Okay Resort

Rooms very clean, maid extremely helpful and pleasant. Had a hard time getting our fridge replenished even though this was part of what we paid for. Towards the end of our stay, this was rectified. Food is different-lived off fries, rice and bread but knew about the food going in. My son loved the mustard and brought some home. :) Resort is nice enough but there is something missing..... A couple of the women bartenders at the lobby bar were so miserable that my son and husband t [... read more]ried to avoid them and not go to the bar when they were working. Not good. Front desk isn't helpful with questions. We found out about things we missed on the last day. We got a good price for the resort so all was good. I would recommend this resort to others if the price was right.

Occidental Arenas Blancas: Great Resort!

The location was great as it was very close to the beach, lots of activities on the beach (snorkelling, kayaking etc...), and close by the city. The food was decent, however the food at the buffets was not clean since there were flies in it and birds eating it as well. The rooms were not too bad, though they do need renovation (ceiling in the bathroom was falling down), and there were cock roaches in the hallway which entered the rooms. Overall, we still enjoyed our time in Varadero!

Occidental Arenas Blancas: Up and Coming Resort

Occidental Arenas Blancas was a family friendly resort that had everything for everyone. The pools were fantastic & so was their service. But, the rooms could’ve been cleaner & better maintained. They would sometimes forget to put clean towels, or would refold the ones that were already used. It depended on who cleaned the rooms too. The buffets had a variety of food and the two restaurants that we went to (Spanish & Italian) were professional and tasty. The buffet near the beachfront, La Cari [... read more]be, had a nice lunch, but the birds were always eating the food. I think they should put covers and stuff on their food so that birds don’t eat it or sit around in it. Otherwise, I really believe that Arenas Blancas is an up and coming resort that can live up to its neighbour Barcelo Solymar.
