Grand Palladium Punta Cana: Good other than the food

Went with a group of 5 friends and all 5 of us got food poisoning. The food was disgusting and at times not edible. Other than the food the resort was pretty good nothing spectacular. It was clean plenty of pools, bars and things to do. Service was pretty good but hard to come by someone who could speak English.

Occidental Caribe: Resort is alright

The hotel is nice, grounds are beautiful, food was good. Rooms are good, beds are really comfortable. Clean for the most part. Staff tries their best, but if they don't understand you, they just say no English, they need more staff that speaks better English or understands. Beach is beautiful, but very windy, waves are really strong. Good trip. But wouldn't chose this chain at this moment.

Wyndham Alltra Punta Cana: Shows it’s age

The resort looks nice in photos but overall not the best experience. The food was mediocre and the buffet had a small selection which the tried to hide with repeats of bread and salad bar items. The entertainment was also boring. Everyday it repeated the exact same activities as the day before. The rooms also showed there age. The lights in our building hallway weren’t on all night and my wife fell down the stairs one night maneuvering through the dark. Only bright spot was the staff was very  [... read more]friendly. Majestic Elegance Punta Cana: Awesome place!

Our recent stay at Majestic Elegance Punta Cana was amazing Beach is great, food good and people friendly. We stayed in the Elegance Club which is worth the upgrade. Our butler was extremely helpful Will return for sure

Secrets Cap Cana: Good and Bad

The good part of the resort was the service, exceptional and very attentive staff in their area of employment. The rooms are very nice and a good size. The resort was very clean ! The dinning was the good and bad of our experience , the appetizer's at all the restaurants were excellent but the main courses fell very short. We were among 4 people that got food poisoning at the Japanese restaurant. Which made our last day almost unbearable.

Royalton CHIC Punta Cana: Bad Ressort

We had a lot of problems in the room and management of the resort did not fix it. 1. Loud noise (metal grinding and knocking) from the room Air Conditioner. Was never fixed. 2. TV did not work four days. After that works only three days and dead again. From two weeks it works only five days. 3. Shower did not work four days. 4. The room phone did not work four days. 5. The room minifridge is empty. Nothing delivered. Not even water. We had to go to the concierge (phone is not workin [... read more]g) to ask for water. Even after that we were getting only thee 350 ml bottles for two for a day! How chip Royalton management! 6. There is no coffee-machine in the room. 7. There is no mini bar in the room.

Be Live Collection Punta Cana Adults Only: Decent 4 star resort, but no where near 5 stars

This is my 7th time in the DR, this resort was probably the oldest one I've ever been to. The wooden beams holding up the roofs and structures sure the age of the resort. The junior suite is something you would expect in a 4 star in Cuba. The beach of you can call it that was next to a Marina so the water was dirty from oil and seaweed dredged up from the boats nearby. The beach is littered with vendors trying to sell their goods, your are in a roped off area but they still tell at you from a di [... read more]stance asking you to come look at their stuff. It was very hard to relax and hear the ocean. Of you try to escape it by going to the pool, the pool is narrow and situated in such a way that the sun only hits it for 5hrs of sunlight which is a problem when they aren't heated. The wifi was extremely slow when it worked which was intermittent. The workers and the staff were hit and miss, some were very friendly and some were extremely rude. Example, asking for a fresh beach towel because the one you have is from the day before was an issue since the towel was dry, tells me that they will only exchange it if it's wet (makes no sense since they close the towel hut hours before the sun goes down). The food was good most days, the alcohol selection was good in the VIP bars but bring your own mugs, the cups they use are the cheapest possible disposable plastic cups imaginable. I was lured by the price but even at a low price point this resort has very little value. If you enjoy swimming in the ocean or like a quiet beach this is not the resort to go to.

Bahia Principe Explore Esmeralda: Had a good time not great

We loved the pool and all the extras for our grandson.The rooms were also nice and the grounds well kept and beautiful. Although the a la cartes were tasty ,the two main buffets were lacking.Too many of the same dishes every night and the food was never warm.I would go back if they improved these buffets

Royalton Bavaro Resort and Spa: Food Poisoning

We had stayed at the Hideaway at the Royalton in Mexico a few years back and loved it. So we hoped for the same experience here. It started out pretty good, we opted for a diamond club junior suite with a swim out. Our little guy loved the swim out. Unfortunately on the third day things started to go pretty bad. Me and my wife got extremely bad food poisoning and they were not helpful at all. They almost make you feel like it was your fault they fed you bad food. They made zero effort to try  [... read more]and resolve the issue, they just kept trying to get us to book again and they would offer a discount on an upgrade. Or they offered medical assistance at an extremely high price. If you do choose this resort, please bring medication for food poisoning.. It was honest awful. Service is extremely slow and you have to ask for things multiple times if you ever want them to bring anything. Definitely the worst resort experience I've ever had.

VH Gran Ventana Beach Resort: A neat, beautiful spot

We came in December 2021 for our “baby moon”. We had a great time! A smaller resort only at about 50% capacity or so. The beach was great (except for the beach vendors that can be a little excessive) but otherwise great sand, lots of chairs, good swimming! The pool was nice too, music all day if you’re into that. It was clean and again lots of chairs available. The food was good enough, for a 4 star all inclusive. Not fine dining by any means but we were well fed! Good breakfast and lots o [... read more]f options for dinner. The chicken wings at the snack bar were AWESOME. We’re not big drinkers so can’t speak to the bar but they had a big menu of specialty drinks so I think they had a good selection. My only critique would be the staff could be a bit friendlier. Covid protocols were great at the hotel. Masks are expected in all common areas, sanitizer is readily available and required to enter the main buffet. Our rep didn’t show to explain but you need an appointment for the Covid testing at the clinic 1 minute walk from the hotel but they accomodated because I was pregnant. It was quick and super close to the hotel. My second critique would be the airport transfer and the plane itself. The van to and from the airport was VERY cramped and as full as possible with 15 people. We were almost on top of eachother, I didn’t feel great in that situation. Overall I felt very safe at the resort, they had great protocols in place and most guests followed them!

Barcelo Bavaro Palace: Severe food poisoning

We stayed for a week at Barcelo Bavaro Palace...there was four of us in total. Two of us were food poisoned from the buffet and it was so bad that one of has to go to the hospital. We are certain it wasn't from water because we were careful to only drink bottled water. The beach here is beautiful and the rooms were clean but the food isn't great and clearly there are issues with cleanliness and food storage/preparation. In general, the service isn't good anywhere at the hotel.

Casa Marina Reef Resort: not the same

we have been to this resort many many times and we have never had the problems we had this time. ask to change the room the first night, told to come back at 10 in the morning.. we went back at 10 and was told which room we could have.. and the one is the one that we liked, but was told to come back again at 3, we did and was given a key to a different room which was not the one that we were told we were going to get, so we just stayed in the 1st room which we weren;t crazy about,, but, what ca [... read more]n you do.. then at the end of our stay we ask for late check out.. was told again to come back.. we did.. told to come back again. then the morning of our last day was told we could not get late check out (our flight was leaving at 10:30pm) finally after more talks we finally got late check out.. had to pay 28 which we were glad to do. and sorry to say, but the staff were not that friendly or nice. seems things have changed .. like i said we have been here at least 7 times and never had a problem at all.. Virigina ,, the day time bar staff at the main bar was Great,, she was here last time we were... would we go back.. not too sure..

Dreams Onyx Resort and Spa: Awesome resort

We had great expectations before leaving and we were not deceived. Room, grounds, pools and hotel was 5 star. It was just the right size where all amenities were short distance away. Service was top notch and met great people along the way. They were there to please. Beach was excellent but a bit too much waves for our liking. But calmer waters was not too far away. We enjoyed the lazy river and slides as it offered a diversion. We highly recommend the resort for families and adults only alike.

Ocean Blue and Sand: Safe and awesome Resort!

This is one of the most beautiful resorts in Punta Cana. The grounds and landscaping are absolutely gorgeous and well maintained. Due to covid only 3 out of the six restaurants were open per night, however this resort has an excellent large buffet dining room open until 10:30. One night we were hungry and they let us in late past 10:30 with a big welcome and no rush to leave. The staff is amazing especially Kelvin at the reception desk was helpful at all times and very kind. The Restaurant Manag [... read more]er Esmali was very attentive to his staff and the guests. He always made sure everyone was taken care of was always seen around all the restaurants making sure things ran smoothly. The Animation team was excellent too and always encouraging guests to get involved during the day as well as in the evening during showtime. Chocolate, Spaghetti, and Little Cooper as well as one Animation worker who always dresses in costume so friendly but I can't remember his name. The night he dressed as Spiderman was a big hit among the kids! The swim up bartender Manuel always took care of us too, sweet man. Alexander the singing Bartender was excellent too and always kept us entertained! The wait staff was awesome too. We were always greeted every morning at the buffet for breakfast by Pedro, and Christy, Argentina, and Moses and many other wonderful employees, One of the friendliest staffs we have met and we travel quite often. Punta Cana is one of our favourite destinations, gorgeous weather beautiful people. We decided to travel to this gorgeous resort because we had been there before. We knew we would feel safe with all their Covid protocols and we are so glad we chose Ocean Blue and Sand.

Barcelo Bavaro Beach: Nice Adults Only Resort

Hotel staff are all very nice and welcoming. Hotel grounds, public areas and guestrooms are very well maintained and for the most part COVID protocols are in place around the hotel. Food and service is all very good. This is a large resort with the Bavaro Palace attached. When there are conventions or holidays, this attached hotel is very busy. You have to make restaurant reservations in advance upon arrival but all easily done through guest services. Adults only hotel should not have [... read more] to pay extra for specialty restaurants and there are only two located at adults only side, one of which you can't seem to get a reservation for. Beach is very nice. If you are looking for a quiet beach, this hotel is not for you. Party boats and fishing boats are located next to the hotel that play very loud music when they leave and return. Helicopter tours fly constantly over the beach. Some days are quieter than others. There is no bar service on the beach which was disappointing for an adults only hotel but the bar is easily accessible with fast and friendly service. There is also no snack bar located near the pool for light snacks throughout the day, not sure if this is due to Covid related protocols or not. In the beach restaurant, Maria is absolutely amazing!! Cannot say enough about the service with a smile that welcomed us daily! She goes above and beyond her role to make your stay a memorable one. We travelled with another couple and the evening entertainment when there was some was very nice and welcomed. Great lobby to hang out in, play games or just chill, with a nice bar and service to your seats. Overall a nice hotel, great weather, a nice beach and good food. Would return again.

Iberostar Selection Bavaro Suites: Fantastic Resort

From the staff to the location down to the beautiful weather. The place is beautiful. The villas are well kept with housekeeping daily. The pool is gorgeous and the beach is well maintained the only thing bad I will say is I had a room fairly close to the theater and lobby. At night the entertainment was extraordinarily loud. So much so that when there to enjoy a drink you could not char with those at the table with you. If you wished for an earlier night the volume was way to high. It didn't n [... read more]eed to be that high. Beyond that though the food, drink and staff make this resort a great place to be. It was my second stay here and I would certainly come back again.

El Beso Adults Only at Ocean El Faro: Great Vacation at El Beso

Had a great time at El Beso in November 2021. We were a group of 6 and all had different styles of rooms. We had a swim out, one couple had a regular room and the las couple had toilet issues and were upgraded to the roof top terrace. All the rooms are very similar in decor, just a big size difference with the roof top. The swim out we had was in building 17, sun all morning, it was perfect. For Japanese you must get up at and be up there to book at 7am, all the others you have to wait in line at for 6pm. It’s a bit of a pain but we figured it out and ate at restaurants every night. The other option is to eat at the adults only restaurant at the beach. We did breakfast there everyday and they also had theme nights for dinner at 6:30pm or 8pm. It was great. A very nice feature is the lazy river. It is on the family side but a short walk from the adult pool. We brought our own tubes, good thing as they were very hard to find throughout the day. Overall the resort is well maintained and the staff are very friendly, we did not have any issues with service, we knew what we were getting into with Covid. Mikes Coffee was dynamite, a must visit place with lots of room to sit inside or outside. The airport leaving DR though was a gong show, make sure you also complete your departure declaration before you get in line, many people didn’t and they just shoved us to the back of the line. Finally made it through customs and made it on the plane 20 min prior to departure and did not get a chance to do some duty free shopping. I would definitely visit El Beso again.

Wyndham Alltra Samana: Grand Paradise Samana

The resort needs work. The food was horrible. My toilet leaked. My mom had to change rms because of toilets overflowing, no hot water etc. The beach & the Dominican republic itself was beautiful. I would return but not to the Grand Paradise. Nothing Grand about it.

Bahia Principe Explore Legend: Beautiful place

I recommend this place for family with kids. They are very professional, a lot activity in the pool and at night. The food very good . The place is clean,they follow the covid protocol, they wearing mask. We are happy and we'll be back ❤

El Beso Adults Only at Ocean El Faro: Great Resort!

This is second time for one couple at this resort, and is still amazing. Other couple really enjoyed too. This time in adult side El Beso, really enjoy the quietness, less crowds here. There is still snacks bar, restaurant, buffet for breakfast, pools on this side. We still went to restaurants, pool, and favorite lazy river on Ocean El Faro side. The grounds are well kept, everything is still in great shape, gleaming floors in lobby. For covid there was plastic gloves for people to wear. All s [... read more]taff were wearing masks. People wore masks in restaurants until eating or drinking. Mostly masks not used outside. They had masks if forgot yours. The no reservations at restaurants is good, but found it hard a few times to get in, was line ups with wait times of 2 hours later. Didn't open all restaurant 2 closed a night. PCR testing at resort was good but wait times to pre- register for appointment were long. Cost $90 Us. Entertainment was outside in patio area in evenings instead of theater, because of covid was great, especially Micheal Jackson show. Something here at resort for everyone.
