Melia Jardines del Rey: Large new resort

It's a new resort so the landscaping is still growing into a lush surrounding. The gardeners are hard working friendly people especially Datchel and Ailier. Give them all thumbs up. The staff in the dining was very efficient and attentive kudos to Christi and her Co workers . Food was actually quite good can never go wrong on breakfast. Lots of hot water beach towels seem to be a problem but hey I don't need a fresh one every day same goes for the bathrooms. A washcloth would be nice however. Al [... read more]l in all worth going back too. I experienced no insect problems at all.However it is usually windy a blessing in the summer but not so much in Jan or Feb.

Tryp Cayo Coco: Old resort

Resort was old and needs renovation work! Service was average, not many activities were available/provided. Food was not the best, not many varieties of food were available. Beach was clean and beautiful, which was probably the best part of the resort!

Iberostar Origin Daiquiri: Typical Cuban resort

The grounds are very nice ,beautiful beach can go either way for a nice long walk. The room was alright no dresser for clothes,and only 7 hangers in the closet. Maid cleaning could have been better after the 4 the day never gave us clean towels when she took the dirty ones away, The lobby bar ran out of pineapple liqueur after the3rd day in ,but the resort store had a case of it ,and Cuba is the only place you can get this . Food was adequate never went without.

Hotel Vigia: Pleasantly Pleased

There was an amazing array of blooming flora all around on my recent stay at this resort, and from the gardeners always attending to some part of the grounds, I was able to learn the name of many unfamiliar plants. The public gathering areas were constantly attended to, being swept and washed, as were the public bathrooms. My room was very near to the ocean and close to the pool and buffet area, with many pathways leading to all areas of the resort. Always had hot water, no electricity outages,  [... read more]and any issues with a clogged drain or other minor issue was promptly corrected, and management called to check that the work was done to satisfaction. I found there was a large array of food choices at meal times, the food was good, the homemade bread was delicious and very often still warm from the oven! My only complaint would be that I personally would love that the coffee be available at all meal times. :) I found all staff members most helpful, eager to assist, direct, and do their best to make my stay comfortable, and always with a warm smile. The quality of the nightly entertainment was a pleasant surprise, ranging from comedy to darker theme, with high quality dancers and gifted entertainers.

Melia Cayo Coco: Perfect five day getaway

My daughter and I had a wonderful time at this resort! Very quite and relaxing...just what we were looking for. Perfect beach, windy in the afternoon so went to the next beach......Playa Largo.... ten minute walk .....breathtaking!!! Enjoy!!

Memories Caribe Beach Resort: Okay

WE HAD THREE ROOMS BEFORE WE FINALLY WERE IN A DECENT ROOM The first room 1810 had black mold on two walls approx 3 feet up from the floor. The second room 1406 also smelt very musty but could not see any black mold but at 4:30 am we were woken by the air conditioning sounding like a cloths wash machine chugging away for the next three hours.Finally we were given a decent room 1621 where we stayed . From February 23 to March 1, 2016 we had very little warm water (no hot) with inadequate water pr [... read more]essure to wash off properly and cleanse your hair and body. The buffet food was okay but could have had better variety of fruit and their pork could have been cooked more thoroughly.Fish should be placed away from front entrance and kept better refrigerated. The main bar (by stage) restaurant's french fried grease should be changed more often as the grease smell is nauseating. Bar food hamburgers and hot dogs were okay but pizza should have been served at night also. The food and drinks on the ocean were fairly good. Bathroom facilities were filthy, smelly and not enough of them with missing toilet seats and toilet paper in most and none of them had hand towels or hand dryers that worked. Pools need to be heated as not everyone likes ocean swimming, pools remained empty for this reason. Pools could easily be heated by a few solar panels. Convenience store had hardly any product, NO SUNTAN OR AFTER BURN LOTIONT to relieve sun burn , Not enough SNACKS, CHOCOLATE ETC. The 2 a la carte we attended were the Mediterranean which was terrible I wouldn't rate it a 1, and the Pasta was okay except they didn't have many items on the menu, the best part of the Pasta was being right on the ocean. After we left both a la carte's we had to go to the main buffet for more food. The soup at the a la cartes was absolutely disgusting. The staff at the resort worked very hard to accommodate but their hands are tied for the most part. Also the resort should post something about the bites the sand fleas leave and have product on hand to help combat and relieve the itch from them. The staff was very helpful and pleasant, the beaches and oceans were beautiful and the All In One Tour was fabulous. This resort could be a higher rating if the maintenance and amenities were better taken care of. A suggestion is that this resort grow some of their own vegetable and fruits as their is adequate space and good growing seasons to do this continuously right on resort.

Melia Jardines del Rey: Ok resort

The dishes and the cleaning of the table was very discusting, we were told this resort is new but it's not by the look of the showers in the rooms. The food was not very good at all except for the lunch at one restaurant by the pool that had fries and wings thank god for that, we eat a lot of bread because that's all was any good at buffet.

Hotel Playa Paraiso: Loved Pestana!!!

We stayed from Feb 13th to Feb 20th.We were six people my Mom,my sister,her 2 daughters and 1 of daughters boyfriend and I.Check in at 2 Pm was great and we got 2 of 3 rooms we requested previously in an e-mail.Having been to Mexico,Dominican and Jamaica in past this trip exceeded my expectations and was the best by far.The beach is beautiful and the best on the strip.The food was great and well worth it to go to meat(chicken,beef,pork and fish) and pasta stations to ensure hot and fresh food.A  [... read more]la carte restaurant was ok but no need as buffet plenty enough.Although Cuban restaurant was really good. We stayed in bungalow 9 and my sister was overwhelmed by the view of her room.She had full view of ocean.The rooms are not fancy but clean but did not care as we are there to sleep and shower. As far as service that is the one thing that I was mostly pleased with.Exceptional service at restaurants and bars and never feeling pressured to tip but could not help to tip as they are so friendly and mostly smiling.Even had somebody placing our beach chairs at the beach. The shows were the best I've seen in any past resorts.One thing I would have liked is maybe a DJ and disco after the shows were done. In all very happy with this trip and I know if I go to another resort I would be disappointed as it would not be up to par as Pestana.I will be back. Thanks Pestana for a wonderful stay.

Sol Cayo Coco: Best beach in Cayo Coco

We have been to several hotels in CC (Mojito, Tryp, Playa), and this by far has the best beach. The water is deep enough for swimming and you don't have to wade out forever. The beach is also excellent. For long walks, even in high tide. The grounds are nicely kept, but amazingly, you don't see caretakers/cleaning personnel loitering around. Rooms large and clean, could use some TLC (cracked tiles, all cosmetic). There was fresh green lettuce three times daily and a large variety of fish choic [... read more]es and cheeses. Otherwise, standard Cuban fare.

Memories Caribe Beach Resort: Meant for rest not excitement

It was lovely from the outside, beach was nice, food was good for Cuba, ground floor rooms are a mess however but the situation was remedies and we got a nice newer room the next day. The staff was very pleasant and helpful.

service excellent, rooms clean and smart, beach delightful, staff helpful and caring, food something for everyone, pool area clean and tidy, adults only with no noisy kids entertainment wonderful and YES I will return !

Hotel Mojito: Amazing Resort

Memories Flamenco Beach Resort: First visit,and I was very pleased.

This was the first all inclusive holiday that my husband and I ever took. The grounds were well kept and lovely to walk through. We were very happy with our suite, and absolutely thrilled that we had an ocean view. Our room was close to everything and yet very quiet. There were a few minor problems in our room, but the staff was very helpful and took care of things promptly. We enjoyed the food selection and it was always given with a smiling face. The only downfall was that you would have to arrive early to get a seat. The pool area and the beach were well maintained and clean. I wish the weather would have been better so we could have spent more time in the ocean. Overall we were very pleased with our holiday and would most definelty consider a return visit.

Hotel Camino del Mar: A relaxing vacation

Our stay at the Melia Cayo Guillermo was a relaxing one. Though it was almost full, the spread out design of the resort meant we were not crowded by others. The staff were very friendly and helpful, especially those who worked in the buffet restaurant where we ate most of our meals. We felt like we were part of their families. The food was much better than we expected. There was something for everyone. Most of the food was made in front of you at a grill station. We plan to return next year to the same resort. There is no higher recommendation than that!

Hotel Playa Paraiso: Great Adult Vacation

The Pestana is a great place to relax for a week. The grounds are very well kept and easily walk able. The beach though small from the ocean to the palapas is that Caribbean calm aqua green waters. Rooms are spacious, but the tubs/shower can be tricky for those not no nimble. Food was good by Cuban standards. I would go back

Hotel Playa Paraiso: Less than average

After 11 visits to Cuba this resort came in at the bottom of the heap. This was a smaller resort that catered to older adults and couples. The rooms were clean and in good repair and the location of rooms was good. The staff were capable but notably unhappy and under challenged. Most had very poor English skills and had no preparation or training to do their jobs, especially the grill chefs who over salted and overcooked everything. Their was only one pool that had non-stop music and shouting by [... read more] their animation staff attempting to get people activated. There was no quiet time, no non-smoking areas, and a daily grab for chairs at both beach and pool. If you didn't have a chair by 8:00 a.m. you were just out of luck. The pool deck was uncomfortably crowded. The evening of entertainment was preceded by children running on the stage, knocking over props and lights with little or no adult supervision. There were many hostile and aggressive guests that made it difficult to have an enjoyable vacation. We will not return to this resort.

Hotel Camino del Mar: In Need of Renovations!

This hotel is badly in need of renovations like new mattresses, Air Conditioning that works in all the rooms, increase in water pressure for all the rooms, hot water, and newer bathtub/shower stalls. On the positive side; the beach is amazing, the staff are friendly and the food is good!

Melia Jardines del Rey: Don't believe the bad reviews

This resort bends over backwards to give you a great time. The staff is pleasant and they work their butts off to keep you happy. The check in process was a little confusing, having never been south before. Guests were cranky and just wanted to get a drink. Staff worked very hard to get us settled in quickly. The Transat rep gave us the run down the next morning which was very informative. The food was delicious the first few days, then it got boring really fast. I ordered the mushroom risotto at Don Pepperone & it was white rice with dried up strips of mushroom, with crunchy sea salt on top. I was there by myself and felt like everyone around me was getting better service. Favourite parts: the pools are gorgeous, clean and plentiful; rooms are large with balconies, a minibar and safe; lobby bar staff is top notch. Worst parts: people putting their towels on pool loungers in the morning and going off to breakfast, lunch & dinner. Sometimes it was hard to find a place to sit. People were laying on the grass and the pavement. So many obnoxious Canadians were drunk and loud and rude. Ugh. Loud music at both pools. I just wanted to doze in the sun and cool off in the pool all day. The beach is absolutely gorgeous. Yes, it's a bit rocky in places but the water is so warm and clear. Lots of beach chairs and a bar with very friendly staff. Sand fleas had a feast on me so bring bug spray. Sometimes tiny ants made it into the room and the bed. Just keep the sheets tightly tucked to the mattress when you're out for the day. The room was cleaned every day even when I had the Do Not Disturb sign up which was fine but not necessary. Wifi is not great. There are four computers for over 1000 people and some people were just watching videos while others were waiting to check in with their families back home. The activity people are great, so much fun ("Any" in particular was hilarious). They try to get you to exercise a little but I was having none of that. haha

The resort was very nice, the people extremely helpful, the food was really good and the grounds, pool and beach were wonderful. The rooms could have been a bit cleaner but were acceptable. I really enjoyed myself while there and would go back in a heartbeat.
