Jolly Beach Antigua: Average resort

This resort is older. Rooms are small and tired. The whole place could use a good renovation. The beach is absolutely beautiful, they are building more palapas for shade, but a lot more are needed. The food was ok, but very repetitive and not much choice. This is a smaller resort which is nice if you like to meet people, everyone gathered at the one bar in the evening which was nice.The staff was fantastic, super friendly and helpful.

Jolly Beach Antigua: Great Place for a winter vacation

We have never been to a resort that the staff was so helpful and appreciative ! felt safe even off the resort. The wind blows the shower curtains around a lot, but overall we had a very relaxing enjoyable vacation. The beach is huge , could use a few more shade covers

St James Club and Villas: We loved it!

What a fab location, 2 totally different beachs, one calm Mamora Bay, and one windy and stunning. We felt so at home here from day one.The staff were all very happy to see us, nothing was too much trouble, they really have superb customer service skills. They have a lovely well stocked gift shop, with groceries, wine and beer etc. Our room was 706 it was a suite with Ocean views..It was very spacious with a kitchen ,we didn't use anything other than the small fridge.The room is a littl [... read more]e dated, but the bed was comfy and we slept well.. We paid $10 a day for continuous wifi for our convenience ,but it is available free in the lobby.. The pools are lovely, so many to choose from, they have something for everyone, water sports were great and the staff were super friendly and got us involved in beach activities..Mamora Bay is ideal for using the SUP, Hobie Cat,windsurfing,kayaks.. On the whole the food was good,we tried Picolo Monda one night, we paid $75 for this and it was lovely.The only meal and service we were not happy with was Cocos, the bar tender was great, service was just ok and food was not to our liking..Lunch at 1-11 the next day for lunch was great..a lovely spot,we spent the day at the pool there. We so enjoyed tea and scones, mini sandwiches at tea time,4-5 pm at the main pool. Adults and children will love this place.. Overall we really loved it here and can't wait to return..

Jolly Beach Antigua: Old resort with it's own charm in a spectacular location.

We knew from the reviews what to expect so there were no surprises. The food was good but not a huge selection. A few hiccups with our room but the staff were quite efficient fixing the problems. Incredible beach.

Jolly Beach Antigua: Such an Amazing Resort!!!

This was our first time to this resort and island. We had the best time. The resort was always clean, the staff was on top of everything. Everyone that worked there was very friendly and helpful, so nice to talk with, and took the time to speak with you. The food was really good, and a good variety. It was a first booking with Trip Central also, we were a bit nervous, but we had no problems. They were very responsive and informative. Will definitely book with Trip Central again.

St James Club and Villas: Great Stay

The hotel is very organized and it is easy to get around. Rooms: They are a bit outdated and on the upholstered furniture there is a lot of visible spots. Cleaned regularly and it is nice and clean. Food: For breakfast it is just the same all the time. I missed some fresh vegetables. Seating is very easy and the staff is exceptional. Lunch and dinner are more diverse and lot of selection. Service: Everyone at the resort is so friendly and helpful. Compared to other destinations they are not pushy with their sales, only ask once and they are not asking for tips either. We always left tips but never was expected or asked. Very humble people.

Jolly Beach Antigua: Beautiful beach, great service

The resort is dated, but very clean. We stayed in "super saver room" (the smallest room we have ever seen) on the third floor with gorgeous ocean view. The beach was beautiful. The food selection at the buffet was OK, but the service was great. Jerk chicken at the beach restaurant was delicious. The Mexican, Italian and Seafood restaurants were very good.

Jolly Beach Antigua: Simple and clean

The buildings are getting tired and need a facelift but the grounds were nice and the beach was amazing! The food was the best we've had at a resort. The servers and staff were super nice and helpful. The entertainment was fun. The rooms need Reno but are very clean.

Jolly Beach Antigua: Nice resort

Number 1 the beach is spectacular! I had the superior room it was spacious and clean. The shower was very old and it was difficult to get it working after 5 pm or so barely any hot water. The grounds are kept very well and pretty with beautiful flower bushes. The staff were wonderful, kind, always smiling and accommodating check in was a breeze even thou there was a big lineup moved quickly. Jolly Beach Antigua: Warning!! resort has not been maintained

The roof leaked on my bed 4 out of 7 nights.I told staff, the response was they already knew about it. Black Mold on main buffet ceilings and in Mexican restaurant. My room had no screen door and the A/C did not work. I honestly feel the resort is so old and neglected that Sunwing should be embarrassed. I was in a group of 14 and each room was in the same condition. I have taken 6 Sunwing trips and this was the worst resort. I would recommend other Sunwing resorts but not “Jolly beach”

Jolly Beach Antigua: Amazing beach!

Hotel is dated, rooms are small but adequate since you aren’t in them for long. The buffet is small and food can be repetitive but tasty. A la carte restaurants are good but be prepared to get up early to make reservation . Entertainment and bands in the evening are excellent. Beach is amazing and the staff working at the resort are all wonderful !

Jolly Beach Antigua: Good for the price we paid

This hotel is definitely dated but clean. AMAZING beach. Although we were tipping, bartenders are REALLY slow and seem VERY angry until you've been there awhile then become friendlier. Food, same everyday but you get fed. Nathon, beggar on the beach was somewhat distressing Would be VERY helpful to get more information on the facilities and what's going on at the beginning of the week. Maybe a hand out? We were told to reserve for the restaurants a day ahead which we tried to do but were still unable to get in unless we wanted a 9:00 seating. One morning we were there about 9 to reserve...still no luck. Unsure as to how to get a reservation at a reasonable time. Price was right. Would go back. Hotel was sufficient, the island was beautiful!! Would I recommend to a friend...yes, explaining the above.

Galley Bay Resort and Spa: Beautiful Resorr

We just returned from a 7 night stay at beautiful Galley Bay Resort. We were definitely one of the youngest couples at the resort but we really enjoyed ourselves (most guests are from Britain and the average age is probably 65). Excellent food, service and gorgeous accommodations. There was live music every night which we enjoyed. The ocean was pretty rough during our stay, and there is a drop off when you get in- so be careful if you plan on swimming at the beach. I was told the water is calmer [... read more] in the summer. Overall, if you are looking for a very relaxing adult vacation- back your bags and a couple of books you won’t be disappointed! Note: we stayed at the Sandals in Antigua and prefer the intimacy of Galley Bay. Almost all of the rooms are beach front and you don’t get the hagglers on the beach like you do at the Sandals property.

St James Club and Villas: Beautiful Resort

Beautiful Resort, lovely grounds, outstanding & friendly staff. Needs an open air, central bar / entertainment area closer to lobby for people to socialize in the evening...not many using the indoor lounge. Nice to have two beaches.. one windy, one calm. Very quiet resort. Some low music on the water sport end of beach would be nice for those who enjoy it, and still leave rest of beach for those who want no noise. Some minor aggravations in food and beverage, that could easily be fixed. Not all  [... read more]bars have a blender for slushy drinks...and they need to. The beach grill has great burgers, hot dogs and fish sandwiches...but only offers a big bucket of serve yourself potato chips (crisps) as a side...no fries, no salad. The buffet is lacking in that they need a nightly carvery station, and they need to add a pasta station. This resort has the potential to be a solid 4* or better, but is being let down by the food and beverage end of things. Would recommend based on property and wonderful staff, but with a caveat regarding food.

Jolly Beach Antigua: Very nice resort

Basic but clean rooms with amazing views and sunsets, relaxing hotel with space to roam and easy to get to everything you need, fun atmosphere, great location on beach with beautiful sand and about a half mile or so to walk safely, water gets deep quick and has a current so best to stay close to shore, Wonderful Staff, Great Food available at all times, replenished and kept covered at buffet and monitored continuously by staff. Entertainment was fantastic and changed every night, you can hear it in your room until about 10:30 if you do not care to watch which is quite enjoyable from your balcony as well and there was an awesome fire show

Jolly Beach Antigua: Basic and clean resort

Clean resort and the staff were excellent, but the food lacked flavour. It was annoying to have to wait in a line up and sign in to eat, then line up again in another line and wait to be seated...in the buffet. I've never seen this at any other AI and it irritated a lot of people. The room was tiny but you get used to it. Pretty turquoise beach but water is not clear. Jolly Beach Antigua: Friendly and Great food!

We were a little disappointed when we checked in, as when booking, we requested an upper level with a queen / king bed instead we got 2 separate single beds and we were on the ground floor. The room was close to the main area of the resort, as such lots of noise and 4 days of lost sleep. We requested to change rooms but they did not accommodate us until Sunday, leaving only 3 nights left. We feel we were shorted as people were checking out the next day after we arrived and they could have easi [... read more]ly switched up rooms, but they did not without explanation. On a positive note the food was great, and the staff were very courteous, friendly and welcoming. The beach was beautiful! We would definitely visit Antigua again and stay at Jolly Beach again, ONLY if i knew i could get an upper floor so i can sleep! Being well rested is what a vacation is about.

Our vacation was sold to us indicating that the hotel was dated but the beach was fantastic. Our agent could not have been more correct. The hotel is dated, however it is beautiful. Some rooms are better than others and there is work being done,nothing that would interfere with your holiday. The grounds are spectacular. We stayed on the first floor, easy walk out to the pool or beach. The food is great, the staff are lovely people that are more than willing to make your holiday fantastic. Pineapple Beach Club: Loved Pineapple Beach!!

Thank you Amber, for the perfect room! Wonderful resort. Great, tasty food and buffet right on ocean!! Lovely beach with lots of chairs and snorkeling right there. Beach front room was great. Bathroom not renovated, but who cares and I loved being able to have a bath :) Beds and pillows are nice and comfy and rooms are super clean. Jolly Beach Antigua: Nice resort

The grounds were kept clean and tidy and the beach was very nice . We were not bothered with beach vendors like some other places . The rooms are small and it would be nice to have a bar fridge in the room . Drinking water and ice is available from the bars . I found some of the food was not very hot unless just cooked on the grill . This could be due to the fact that people left the lids up on the warming trays .
