Barcelo Maya Tropical: Great location and resort

There are 6 hotels sharing the same beach, but as they are spread out, there's plenty of room on the beach. The food options are plentiful and decent. Premium drinks are included. Great snorkeling location right off the beach and pier. Super large multi pools were also great. Good value for your dollar.

Barcelo Maya Palace: Okay

The resort is nice but nothing special. It is in need of updates and repairs to be a true 4.5 / 5 star. Buffets were okay but a la carts were excellent. Service is hit and miss. Housekeeping in the rooms lacked basic sweeping of floors. Pools are nice and large. Beach is nice. Overall a good vacation but don't have high expectations.

Barcelo Maya Tropical: Great Resort

Very clean hotel, everything was well kept at all times! I would recommend this resort to my friends and family, I will for sure go back. The food is delicious , the drinks as well. From service to cleanliness to beach and the spa, I would say 5+++

Barcelo Maya Beach Resort: Good resort

Overall we found the resort really nice. We stayed at the Maya Beach but preferred the Colonial. It has a bigger kids water park too. In terms of service sometimes the lines were too long at the buffet and the staff didn’t always come to serve us. Also the times are limited to book the a la carte restaurants which was a little frustrating. The food and drink selection was really good overall. Would definitely recommend this place. The beach had sea weed and wasn’t calm. There were a fe [... read more]w days when it wasn’t too rough and the water was great for swimming but that was only for a few days out of our entire stay.

Allegro Playacar: Friendly Little Resort

The resort itself is small and a bit dated. A/C was cold and worked great. Our smallish room was adequately stocked with amenities. Beautifully located close to the beach for amazing ocean views our room was a bit of an incline to walk up to the nightly buffet/entertainment, it was OK for us having no mobility issues. Entire resort was clean including the grounds, gardens and public spaces. Food was delicious, plentiful and well prepared. The activity pool also housed the swim up bar and was full of children most days and was not really an ideal set up for smaller kids in my opinion. The quiet pool was never really quiet either as it held the overflow of kids :). If a quiet relaxing vacation is on your agenda this may not be the resort for you,although for the most part evenings after the nightly entertainment were mostly quiet. Service was top notch throughout the resort! Kudos to all the amazing and hard working staff!!

Barcelo Maya Tropical: Great Vacation in Mexico!

We stayed at Barcelo Maya - tropical with 12 friends for a week and had a wonderful vacation. The resort was clean, food was good, staff were helpful and friendly. We had wonderful service at the a la carte restaurants and buffets alike. We mostly stayed around the pool as it was windy for the first few days but we did get out for a couple of days to swim with turtles. I would absolutely stay here again! Thumbs up!

Barcelo Maya Caribe: Not a 4+ star resort

The lobby, grounds and amenities are great. The rooms are not- they are dated and in need of repair. They also aren’t cleaned properly. We arrived and our first room for tub had a chunk missing, pink mold and the shower tiles looked dirty. There were tiny little bugs crawling on the vanity and it was all dusty. Food was ok- lunch buffets were not refreshed so unless you got there early there wasn’t much selection and freshness Beach was beautiful- a little rocky but lovely none the less and minimal seaweed.

Barcelo Maya Beach Resort: Gone Downhill

This is my second time to this resort and I was so excited to return after having such an amazing time 4 years ago. I am extremely disappointed with this resort now. The service was terrible, most mornings my partner and I would eat a full breakfast before any server even offered us water. Bartenders are swim up bars were very slow and most wait times were around 10 min for a drink. The staff consistently seemed like we were bothering them. We stayed for 7 days and only had our room cleaned twice even though we put the “clean” sign on the door and left tips every day. I am very sad to say that I will not be returning

Barcelo Maya Beach Resort: Dated

At first glance... the lobby is beautiful, grounds are very well maintained. Staff are great , friendly and some what accommodating. And by somewhat... for an " all inclusive " we were hard pressed to get diet pop and water in our rooms- some requested were not even filled with 2 calls made. Barcelo Maya Beach Resort: Not worth the money

We booked with a group for a wedding and weren't in the same building as the other 40 guests. Lots of members of our group had room issues. Staff were not friendly at all, food was nothing to write home about. Many members of our group ended up with bad GI issues while on the resort. I have never been to a resort where there were lines of people waiting to be served at the bar. The pool bar was the worst many people got out of the pool to get their drinks. Entertainment was nonexistent, no music in the pools or activities many people brought their own speakers to listen to music. I do NOT recommend this hotel for the money go to Jamaica where you will enjoy everything about your trip.

Barcelo Maya Tropical: AirTrans At/Barcelo

Not sure how much more I can say about how wonderful AirTrans At and the Barcelos are, both are incredibly professional and so helpful. Barcelos are a wonderful resort and the people are wonderful, can't say enough good things about them and believe me you get your money's worth. And then of course there is Wendy Harrington our trip central rep the best of the best.....

Barcelo Maya Tropical: AMAZING!

this is my 2nd time at the Barcello Maya - i thik this is the best resort ever. Super clean, the beach amazing, food and drink excellent. Serve also excellent. i recommend this resort to anyone. I will be going again, just looking out for a sale.

Barcelo Maya Beach Resort: Amazing resort

The grounds, public areas and pools are just fine. Food was always fresh and there were plenty of choices from seafood and different kinds of meat and salads to vegetarian options. The buffet restaurant was always clean and the waiters and waitresses were always kind and attentive. The hotel was always clean as well as the room. Noseless AC was also a good addition. The only my concern is, but it was very important to me, that during 4 nights some guests who lived close to my room were very nois [... read more]y after midnight and 3 or 4 times on different nights I had to call to the front desk and ask to send the security to calm those guests down. Yes,the security were coming quickly and the noise was stopped for some time but after a couple of hours those guys were starting to shout and yell again. So,as a result my 3 nights were just sleepless. But thanks to the young man Jesus by name who work at the front desk of Barceló Maya who helped me to change my room and the hotel and the rest of my vacation was just fine. I am very grateful to him for his exceptional support and kindness. To my opinion he is the best. I really will be glad to see him again when I come for my next vacation.

Barcelo Maya Colonial: Amazing Resort

My husband and I had a marvellous time at the Barceló Colonial. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. The nightly entertainment at the theatre was very good. We would certainly recommend it to our friends. We would certainly revisit.

Barcelo Maya Tropical: Family Oriented Resort with Beautiful Beach

We enjoyed our time at the Barcelo Maya Tropical. We were blessed with amazing weather and the beaches were clean with crystal clear water and white sand (end of April). We have travelled to Mexico several times and in recent years have been very disappointed with the seaweed - fantastic to not experience this on our holiday. The Barcelo is a large and well appointed resort. We loved the architexture and abundance of public spaces to relax. Public restrooms were often not equiped and properly cleaned - this was really suprising. Rooms are opened with key cards that often stop working - front desk staff are quite dismissive and not helpful. The staff in all other areas are kind and helpful. Beautiful walking paths and landcaping throughout the resort. We would definitely consider comimg back with grandchildren as there were so many activities for children to have fun.

Barcelo Maya Beach Resort: Terrible

Hi Nicole thanks for your service it worked well at the airports and arriving at the resort and leaving. Not impressed with resort it was spread out too much a lot of walking just too big. Rooms are falling apart air conditioning hardly worked patio door would hardly open bathrooms was falling apart. Not impressed. They charged us 120$us for sunscreen deodorant and 2 toothbrushes a total ripoff. Not impressed wouldn’t go back. I would definitely use you as a travel agent. Thanks Doug Moore

Barcelo Maya Palace: Beautiful Resort

The food was amazing, the staff were friendly, the room met actually exceeded my expectations - can’t wait to go there again, would love to take my grandchildren. The beach was ok but the pool was great and the swim up bar was excellent, they were fast and didn’t have to wait long

Barcelo Maya Beach Resort: Great resort

The beach at Maya Beach was excellent, very clean and seaweed was cleaned up everyday. There was only a little bit in the water. The rooms were a bit dated but clean. We had amazing service from all of the staff. The a-la-carte restaurants were amazing with the exception of the Steakhouse (food was cold and service was terrible). Buffets were ok for lunch and breakfast. We tried the snack bars but food was not great. The best bartender is located at the lobby bar and her name is Maria, sh [... read more]e makes the best drinks. My only complaint was we had to have our room card reprogrammed over 15 times during our 10 day stay. Several guests were in the same boat as us.

Occidental Caribe: Amazing week

I have no idea what all the negative reviews are about this resort. The view, the pools are amazing! People were friendly…. Food always A LOT Of options from salads to fruit, meat and Sides! Is the service fast NO ur I wish people would put things in perspective… it’s 30 Degrees, they work 12 hr days, with few hours off in between and your ON VACATION!!!! Barcelo Maya Palace: Maya palace over premium at the maya beach

In the last year i have stayed at both the bercelo maya beach non premium and the maya beach premium oceanfront , given a choice the service at the maya palace was far superior then the beach resort. The only down fall of the palace resort is that you have to travel 3 hotels down to strikers sports bar to get drinks after 12 and food after 10 pm
