Great stay!

My girlfriend and I stayed here for 10 days it was a very nice resort! The staff was very friendly. There was many activities during the day. The buffet was average food, I highly recommend booking at the a la carte restaurants the food was amazing ! We are very happy with the trip and would recommend!

Very nice resort

This resort is very clean and well kept. Service/people are great here. Food was very good. A la cart meals were nice and the buffet restaurant had a lot of great options and good quality. The main pool was very noisy (Lots of kids) but clean, well kept and nice pool bar. We spent most of the day on the beach which was very nice. Amazing resort

The hotel, staff and food were awesome. The only downside for us were the beds and pillows. They were horrendous. That would be the only reason I would not return to this resort. Which is a shame because the beach, pool area and especially the food is outstanding. Best food on a resort hands down.

Great resort

This will be the third time i have travelled to the Gran Ventana i always enjoy this resort and the atmosphere it provides. The resort was very clean. Amazing staff that did there very best at trying to get everyone envolved with activities and pool games. The food at the gran ventana had to be the best i have ever tried while staying in the dominican republic, and this has been my seventh time traveling to this beautiful country. Another amazing factor about this resort is that it is only a 25 minute drive from the airport wich is very convenient for eager travellers like myself. Overall was a great experience and we will be returning to the resort.

Extra clean, beautiful and excellent staff.

My family and I visited Gran Ventana in mid May. The weather was amazing, always hot (over 30 C), but humidity was quite high. I think, we had only one time that it rained and last for 10 min. The food was excellent. Many dishes to choose from. Always fresh! Staff was amazing. Very helpful and accommodating. We spent the mornings at the beach because it wasn't too windy, and after the lunch we usually stayed at the swimming pool. Since May is off season the hotel wasn't fully occupied. I [... read more]t was actually a good thing because you don't need to worry about finding spot on the beach or by the pool. Also, less noise! We had our rooms in the Saona building, close to the main buffet and the pool. No mosquito bites!

Exceptional resort

The staff are top notch! Friendly and courteous. The food is over the top phenomenal and the cleanliness is amazing. At 9:30 pm there are still staff cleaning and mopping. The weather was not always great but the staff had games and little culinary classes for all ages. Highly recommend.

Great Vacation

Rooms, restaurants, pool, facilities, etc were all exceptionally clean. I work as a Housekeeping manager and was quite content with the services provided. I would definitely recommend to friends and family and actually hope to return this upcoming November with my family. Staff on the resort were very friendly. Booking with trip central was fantastic and would definitely rebook future vacations with Lisa at trip central!!

Excellent vacation

Food was good and plentyful. Impossible to go hungry. Staff were very helpful and eager to please you. Our first time to this hotel but far from our last. This place is kept spotless if a leaf falls out of a tree someone is there to pick it up. This is a 4 star hotel with 5 star food and service

The resort was not too small but a good size.

Property was well kept, everything was close by, the food was ok and the staff were friendly and helpful. Restaurants were good, wine was bad, entertainment was in transition so not great and pool was fun but a little too warm to refresh you.

Fabulous time with friends

Had a great time with 6 girls, food was really good,rooms were clean , excursions were fun :) we will have memories for a lifetime , only downsides for me was the night life and entertainment could use help otherwise we would all return :)

Absolutely amazing

Beautiful grounds, great food, pleasant staff! Beach vendors are great once you get chatting with them! The resort really values their staff and its great to see. Beach is close, and well maintained. We will return!

Very nice resort

Everything was fine except we requested a quiet room when we checked in but had to be moved twice to get away from all the noise at night. Being a smaller resort, everything was handy. People were friendly and helpful.

Very very clean

Food was good,very clean, rooms were nice. The location of ours was my only compliant ,we were facing the fence so smelled of fuel & noisy on the deck. Very friendly staff. Easy to get around. Close to shopping.

Super resort

No complaints my husband and I was very happy. The sun was there with us for two weeks .Ours transat representant Transat was always there for us. Small resort easy to walk .good excursion ,Safary need to try

It was "okay" been to better

I have been to Cuba, Punta Cana and all over North America, and do not consider myself picky or high maintenance. So please take this as a well written review of the resort. UPSIDE: Resort, rooms and the beach were clean, food was good, Kerin at the front desk was very helpful and friendly. If you're not about the party and drunk people then this resort is for you, as its family based and the disco is off site. They even have a quite building that has its own pool, bar and snack bar. so if you w [... read more]ant a quiet relaxed vacation request a room there. DOWNSIDE: We upgraded to premium package and I felt it was not worth it. Here are my reasons for the statement above: Unlimited Wifi that is included was very bad, and only worked in sometimes (yes I'm aware that people shouldn't be on their phones) however my friend did have to respond to urgent work emails and it was super inconvenient; Plus you can purchase the wifi for the whole week for only $35. The other perks of the upgrade were VIP section at the beach and room upgrade, there was never enough space in the VIP even with us getting up at 6:30am to put towels out. We were not placed in the upgraded and renovated building (Sonoma), we were placed in the Catalina building and the rooms are Small and outdated. A friend who arrived two days later was placed in the Sonoma building and her room was amazing!! When we requested a room move, it came with a struggle, and our "designated concierge" TONY, was very uneducated about many things and unreliable, as I quote him "oh ya I prefer the Sonoma building myself" ... Thanks Tony for not letting us know that when we arrived and you came to check our rooms!! when I asked about the VIP lounge in the airport he said "no no there is no VIP", just a heads up ... There is a VIP lounge but it's not worth the $25 us per person as the whole airport is air conditioned and there is free wifi. Overall we did enjoy the vacation, but I don't think I'd return to this resort. I truthfully enjoyed Holguin Cuba much more (so that says a lot).

Beautiful Resort!

Had a fantastic time at VH Gran Ventana. Stayed from March 29 - April 5. Beautiful weather. Enjoyed the small resort. Well kept grounds, rooms were clean, food was delicious - lots of variety. We upgraded to the premium package and it was well worth it. Private beach area with waiter service was incredible. Beach chairs/beds were never hard to find in the private area. Chairs by the pool were hard to come by, but we came for the beach so it was not a major issue on our end. Great snorkeling area [... read more] right in front of the resort!

Very good trip at VH Gran Ventana

Stayed April 4-11/16. Weather was great. Had 3rd floor room overlooking the quiet pool. Great location for us as we are both over 50 and preferred the quiet pool. Stayed there most of the time. Food was quite good. Rooms very clean and everything worked. Buffet good. Always found something to eat. The grilled chicken with rosemary down at the beach buffet was great! Although there were alot of vendors selling on the beach, we weren't bothered too much. But then again, we only were on the beach t [... read more]wice to sunbathe as we stayed at the quiet pool. There is a mall just a short 5 min walk from the resort. The location of the resort I felt was great. Not close to the main road so no noise. Entertainment at night was ok. They all really try very hard to please. Jackie at the quiet pool makes an awesome "Jackie Special". Pools were always clean. Water aerobics was fun. No complaints from us. I would definitely return.

Great bang for your buck!!

The grounds were great; not too big so everything was easily accessible. Fantastic and friendly staff, the entertainment crew were particular fun to hang around with. The nightly entertainment was hit and miss some night but all in all I was entertained! They offered a good variety of food and I didn't feel the need to book an alacarte. However the house wines were poor quality so we purchase some lovely and affordable bottles on occasion. Lovely resort

Resort met my expectations with beautiful grounds, clean and well kept. Staff are friendly and polite. Rooms could use a little sprucing. Buffet can be a little repetitive but otherwise, always found something to eat. Of the a la cartes, Italian restaurant was rather a disappointment. Beautiful beach but often difficult to get a beach chair. The pool area could use more umbrellas as difficult to keep out of the sun. Overall, a wonderful vacation and would recommend this resort.

Amazing staff and service

Stayed March 31-07 -16 , Staff is what makes this hotel , the food and service are the best . The main pool area is crowed with not enough shade umbrellas , with the same problem at the beach . Surf was high most of the time at the beach with sea urchents on the reefs so wear good water shoes , the vendors on the beach were persistent and overwhelming Safe on the resort with plenty security , we had friends at the resort next door that we couldn't visit or vice versa .
